Where can I buy the adhesive tape for the back cover? - Xperia Z3 Compact Accessories

Had to do a repair and it's now not as tight as I would like.

Check out witrigs.com or parts4repair.com...

Make sure you scrub+clean off the existing tape with rubbing alcohol else it wont stick well.

when i ordered my replacement screen such a set was included in my package. i cleaned off the surface where the adhesive would sit really carefully and then mounted everything back together. put some pressure on the device while i finished the replacement. the next day i saw the display on one edge slightly popping out of the device. now i let 2 heavy marketing books sitting on it for a day to put some pressure on it again...
maybe adding some heat to the glue will help?

This case damaged my screen

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-WAL...sesPouches&hash=item25643e09b6#ht_1594wt_1199
A couple of months after using this case, i find that it has damaged my screen. The leather seam on the inside left surface has perhaps either deposited some oils or has caused abrasion to my handset. The screen now has a horizontal streak across its face. It won't come out through cleaning.
Any help, please?
Not happy.
Try strong alcohol from a pharmacy (booze won't do it, they might make it sticky)
Umm, alcohol, really? Curious, why do you say that?
I don't want to damage it further. Could alcohol?
Not exactly sure what has happened to the screen.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Perhaps try something like Brasso Gadget Care? I find that works really well on screens.
Didnt you have a screen protector?
Ive been using that case for about the same time and mine is fine (I use a screen protector) I have a line across it but it wipes off.
I also dont put credit cards in it as I thought it would put added pressure on the screen, I just use it to hold a couple of my business cards.
I use alcohol on my laptop screen and it's not gorilla glass that I can tell you.
I use it because it evaporates quickly, doesn't leave stains or lines.
You want some Isopropyl Alcohol from the local chemist. Dilute with water. I use that on my monitor screen, cleaning thermal paste from my CPU, and my phone would be next.
Would alcohol damage the oleophobic coating?

I think so...
I don't use the unofficial, cheap leather cases. Purchased one for my Desire HD a few months ago, and the casing that holds the phone (attached to the "leather") was ridiculously tight. Took me 15 minutes to get it out of the thing...
If you're gonna get a case then get a decent, brand named leather case (with good reviews), an official Samsung mesh case or if your budget won't stretch then get a cheap silicone gel case off ebay (£2-3 tops) as i've bought a few for different handsets and they're always good value for money
I say dont waste your good alcohol on your Sammy but drink it yourself
Mine pops out in seconds without putting any extra stress on the phone
been using it for months now and no problems with it marking the screen (if you don't have a screen protector its your own fault) and in that time I've gaudy out of the case around 5times easily.
I wanted a case that gives good shock and screen protection, what better than a padded (plasticy fake)leather case? my phone fell out of my hoody pocket as I was going up some concrete stairs.it got almost every step and it's fine. A cheap silicone or samsung case would have resulted in a dead screen for sure..
Best£3 I've spent on a phone accessory.

Yes they do mix. Vodka for example is 40% ethanol and 60% water.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but attempting this screen replacement today. With regards to the adhesive tape to use, regular Scotch 3m tape found at office supply stores works? Probably a stupid question, but i know there is regular and permanent 3m tape double sided. Which is suggested?
I'm wondering if the regular is "adhesive enough", and/or if the permanent is a better choice or should be avoided if it needs to be separated again at a later date.
Thanks.

First, I steam up the bathroom. Steam will settle ANY dust. 1 piece of dust is all it takes to make a bubble. With the steam settling the dust, I put the whole screen protector on with front and back. I line it up, then use Scotch tape and tape it along the left side. Then, fold it back, remove the sticky back, then fold back onto the phone. I've got many phones perfect with this technique.
Hope this helps.

LG V20 ZiZO ion series cover ($13.99)

[Okay! I just got my cover (1 day before it was supposed to arrive LOL just like it happened with my V20). Anyway. This is my review:
First of all, here is the link to purchase the cover (maybe cheaper in other websites, maybe not):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/26267917850...49&var=561595568110&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Now, lets proceed by telling you what was included:
1x Heavy duty cover (dual layers, 3 pcs); 1x Premium Tempered Glass; 1x Dust absorbant cloth; 1x Cleaning wipe
Finally, Lets get to the review! The good and the bad:
The good: I like the cover. So far i dropped the phone from 3 feets and nothing happened to it. The cover meets Military Grade 810.1-G Compliancy. The first layer feels like a fat layer of clear TPU but it doesnt feel bad at all. The outer layers are made of Polycarbonate to absorb the falls. The TPU layer is enough to absorb the impact but the 2 layers of polycarbonate have 2 purposes to protect, but also to make the phone adjust firmly in the cover. The audio jack and the type c usb port both have dustproof covers so that it doesnt penetrate any dust particles. easily to open and close. With this cover you will be able to use every functionality. Including IR Blaster, and every mic has its big enough hole to let the voice sound as clear as possible. cover doesnt feel bulky, to put it inside your pocket with or without cover, you wouldnt notice the difference (see the picture of the rule and measure your phone with one). it is very light too. Now, the screen protector, im sure it was premium, but i messed up putting it (STUPID DUST PARTICLES FLOATING EVERYWHERE), so now i have to buy a new screen protector lol.
The bad: 1) Your fingerprints will stay on the TPU layer (light fingerprints) but they still there. So,,, if you are into security and no trusting anyone and thinking about someone will do conspiracy against you and will use your fingerprint to unlock the phone, well,,,, it is not for you, unless you paint it with an spray ; 2) possibly another bad side: if you are no accustomed to the volume buttons on the side of the device and have to constantly looking for where exactly to press, then this is not a cover for you, since the buttons totally disappear with it. On the other hand, they are easily to press if you are accustomed to the volume buttons on the side; 3) The cover might slip if the material of the surface were you put it is made of Anodized aluminum or any other material that has been processed or polished.
Funny Fact: Seems that they created the cover missing some information about the phone's physic, since they added a button in the right low side of the cover which has no purpose there LOL!
I havent had any scratch so far (from the fall) yet.
If there is any question, please let me know, and i will try to answer. Or any other comments.
Cheers!
@aknotts415 >> here is what i think about the cover. Pictures are on the first post too
haha..thanks...i was just about to post here and ask if anyone has any thoughts on this case...i'm stuck between this zizo and the poetic...
i dont want to take any chances...I had a Note 7..then replaced it with a recalled version...had a nice spigen tough armor case on it but no screen protector...I accidentally dropped it at work and managed to somehow scratch the screen lightly..i guess it doesnt matter since i'll be replacing it with my LG V20 arriving tomorrow...:good:
**oh, could you post some more pics with the case on...maybe during the daytime with more lighting...so how was the tempered glass protector??? was it actually pretty thick, and any advice on getting it on perfectly???

When i come from college today at 11 am i will posting more pictures from every angle.. Now, about the tempered glass, it is very thick. if it werent for the dust particles in my living room, i would have put it perfectly, Something that i like is that when you put the screen protector, and the put the cover, there is no way any dust will go inside, at least from the front part, since the polycarbonate layer presses the tempered glass, hard enough to no let any dust go inside. So, neither from the front nor the audiojack nor the type c port, you will get dust. I just bought 2 tempere glasses on ebay ahhahahah.
Few advices to put it perfectly: go to a place inside your house where there is the least amount of dust (no air conditioner, no windows, and no fans rotating), clean your hands with alcohol, and let it dry. then start from the hardest part, The top, as soon as you align the top and the edges on the top, it wil become easier. Now, i noticed that many of the screen protectors, such as this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Shield-Te...ywords=lg+v20+tempered+glass+screen+protector
Are not been built correctly. As you can see on the reviews, you will see people talking about the tempered glass not properly adjusting to the edges, And to be honest, i dont know if this tempered glass i used but put wrong had the same issue since i see the edges not properly adjusted . maybe because i removed it 2 times and put it back on, or maybe is the built quality. Anyway, im going to wait for the other tempered glasses. and see if those have the same issue.
i bought this one:

It doesnt feel bad, it could be better though if it were aluminum probably. But i figure that the polycarbonate absorbs impact better than metal. Also, please revisit the the first post of the thread, i made some changes into my review you might want to read.

Oh! you are right hahahah. I didn't notice that until i went to the same link on ebay now. The black one shows the 2nd screen, but the others show it as covered . hahaha Probably for the same reason they added something extra to the case that it didnt need to be there as you might have noticed in the picture #8 of the first post i uploaded. But just to play safe, if you will bu y the cover, ask them first.

Yeah at first i thought the same about mine. But then after a minute or 2 it came back to normal and iI t stayed put covering pretty well. Did you try after a short period of time?
Well , for the time being, i did a little adjustment to mine lol and it worked. I put a very very very thin layer of superglue on the edge of the port-cover and waited for it to dry, now the superglue is part of the case, but now the dustcover protector stays there the second i want it to stay there. Although it is not necessary because as i said before, it will come back to normal after about 1 minute or 2 minutes.
On the other hand, I just dont want to return the cover and have my phone naked for another week LOL . And also, i kind of like how thin it is yet very protective. and the seller gave me $5 dollars back because seems like the "premium screen protector" is one of those that wont stick to the edges correctly, althoguht it might have been my fault since i removed it 3 times and put it back on.

Dont get a glass protector, they dont hold proprely, even the ones that get glued to the screen with uv glue.
Get the official samsung plastic protector, you get two for 12 bucks and they are pretty decent.

I'm using Spigen Tempered GLAStR and the Incipio Dualpro case - No issues with either - Spigen stays on and no issues with dust getting underneath (some have reported all kinds of issues with adhesion and dust) - But I suspect that they didn't prepare the surface properly before installing the screen protector... And it fits perfectly with the Dualpro.

Just be patient. I find bathroom after shower us the best place to apply the screen protector. Dust particles are settled after shower. After you apply the front of the screen, wait about 10 minutes then start working on the sides. Alternatively, you can use a hair dryer at a low heat setting. Good luck.
One more thing, unlike other protectors, this one has a total of three 'layers'
1.peel off #1, discard the layer with#2 sticker (Make sure you are discarding the frosted layer and not the clear one with glue side. I noticed that Sticker numbers are not consistent).
2. Spray on the glue side, place on the phone, work out bubbles, no worries about attaching the sides as they wont attach
3. Wait 5-10 minutes. Now carefully, hold#1 sticker and peel off the top layer. . A thin transparent layer will remain attached to phone. Now atrach the sides.
4.Let the phone sit overnight, you will have crystal clear screen protector in the morning.
Hope this helps.

Yes, it does take about 24-48 hours to clear up the bubbles and rainbow effect. Was there any reason that you could not squeeze out the bubbles during installation? Just curious. I normally add a drop of soap in the spray bottle and spray on the protector and the phone screen (just a mist). You get more control in adjusting the and squeezing the bubbles out.
I am glad you got it installed and it should be all good in a day or so. Take care.
