M9 battery in m8 ?? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone tried to put an m9 battery inside an m8 or know if it would work ? They both appear to be the same physically, with the m9 battery just slightly larger in capacity

did u try to put in m8 , m9 battery ? i want to try that so can u reply ?

I put an M9/M8s battery in my M8 about an hour ago. It did fit without a problem.
The phone works and is charging at the moment.

hows the battery life, have you noticed any difference ?

I have m9 battery in my m8...i tried to replace the volume buttons and during that i damaged my battery and the screen heheehhe... Then i must buy new screen and battery and decided to upgrade it with the m9 battery... The screen was brand new and also the baterry. Now i have problems with touch screen and the phone turns off randomly with sound off low battery. When i turn it on the battery is not low... And i got a half inch dead touch strip on my screen... Can this be because of the m9 battery, bad voltage or somnthing similar...
Sorry for my really bad English... :cyclops:

Just to confirm, the m9 battery works normal and that random reboots was not related to the battery... But i dont see any upgrade in the battery life...

Just replaced mine yesterday, phone dont recognize the extra 240mamps, one thing, does your battery temperature always shows 25C? Even if its hot or cold?

Yes it shows 25C. But in TWRP it shows the real temperature... I just wonder, if the phone doesn't recognise the extra 240mah, does it use them? I will share tomorrow my battery life... I am on lineage os and battery life is pretty solid...

I promised to share the screenshots of my battery life with the m9 battery in my m8...i am on latest lineage os and very satisfied with it... cheers

Interesting, maybe next time I need to change the battery I get M9 battery. I was thinking could HTC 10 3000 mAh battery fit to M8? I tried to look up their dimensions but can't find anywhere.

I did a quick search and they seem similar - same connection, similar looking, but a longer ribbon.
I don't think it will fit, but we won't know until someone tries.

[Q] Battery for Trophy

Found a website that offers better batteries for trophy( also for other phones). Has anybody had any experience with them?
Anyways the battery I am looking at the moment is this:
mugen-power-batteries[dot]com/htc/htc-7-trophy-t8686-htc-spark/mugen-power-1800mah-extended-battery-for-htc-7-trophy-t8686-htc-spark.html
I've ordered the 1800mah variant. According to the website, it will ship out on february, 18. Will let you know.
Thanks for the link. I ordered it and got the 1800 mAh today.
The phone is currently running of its first full charge, so atleast it works.
Will get back with impressions of battery power later. Perhaps I will try to do some tests.

Well, it certainly gives me longer battery life compared with the original battery. Though I can't say exactly how much longer, if it is the specced 50%; haven't conducted any tests yet.

Makes me wonder why HTC didn't put a 1500+ mah battery in the first place...

There was a delay in the stock/shipping. It shipped out today. Will let you know as soon as it is in.
Have been using the above described battery for 3 days now. I don't sense a positive difference, in fact I feel that it is running out of battery a lot sooner then the original one.

HTC sells a 1500 mah battery that fits into the same case. I'm thinking of getting that, at least just to have a backup battery.
Do any of these other batteries fit into the same case?
I have a US / VZW trophy.
the 1500mah battery from the Evo doesnt fit right in the trophy. and the 1300mah battery doesnt even turn on the evo? weird
I haven't run in to any battery issues. I get through the entire day with the phone at 40% battery or so with moderate usage. On my Droid before this, I had to recharge in the middle of each day.
The 1750 that fit my incredible fits and works great

Yea, I got the Mugen 1800mah battery. I did find myself close to a or a dead battery after an regular day(hour to 2 calls, some browsing/games during the day) with the OEM battery.
With the same usage with the Mugen, I end up with about 30-40% left by the end of the day. As I won't say it will be perfect by any means, it will last longer than the factory battery in my tests, no question, about 30-40% more.
And YES, it does work in the Verizon version(on the site it said it does not work with the Verizon version), as I got mine from (http://www.mugenbattery.com/) and it works great.
as a point of interest to this thread, not sure if it's been pointed out yet, the Trophy shares the exact same battery (style) as the Droid Incredible. my wife has the Incredible and I can swap batteries between the two w/ no issues. So any battery you find for the incredible will work w/ the Trophy.

[BATTERY] Compatible batteries good quality

Hi to All.
I'm searching for a good compatible battery for SGY. Someone have tested them yet and can give me an advice? I need a battery of the same quality or better than the original. On ebay there are many cheap battery, but for experience i know that them are often... very bad.

instead of changing your battery, why don't you try other alternatives?
like switching off your wifi and data if your not using them or adjusting your screen brightness to minimal and you can also set the screen time out to 15secs
you can also use "no animations" in the display as it consumes more resource and avoid using live wallpapers
you can also try freezing system apps and services that you are not using via titanium back up
Yes, i do it already and my battery, if i don't use the phone for games or internet, can last up to 3 days... but sooner or later I will owever change it, then I open this thread to see if anyone have some experience with compatible batteries.
bigger capacity
im also in the same shoe, my original battery is a 4,44 Wh but it goes 70down in one day with gps wifi bt turned off. this means i have to charge it every day. Can you please suggest a good quality reliable bigger capacity set? It can be bigger size as im looking for a custom back cover anyway.
made in China battery
I got two chinese made Li-Ion 3.7V replacement of the El-Cheapo type, but they are quite acceptable. the label does not identify a maker tho. looks cool tho: when placed in SGY it is totally black.
Ebay battery
There are some 2430 MAH batteries on Ebay. Anybody try these out yet? They are labelled as "High Capacity Business Batteries For Samsung Galaxy Y".

Does anybody know batteries with higher capacity for the Samsung Galaxy Y Duos (S6102) like the ones with 2430mAh capacity for SGY from ebay?
Or are the batteries for the SGY compatible with the batteries for the SGY Duos?
I took the plunge and ordered a 2430mAh High Capacity Gold Replacement Battery For Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 from an Ebay seller a few weeks ago and it finally arrived today. Came out a little below 11 US$ delivered to my local post office. Fits a bit snug but installed without any issues. The battery charged right away and after an hour it was fully charged. Will keep in my phone and I'll post a review in a few days. :good:

1st report on the 2430mAh SGY battery.
After the 1st charge, the battery lasted for 2 and a half days with regular use (wifi, a few calls and games). So far it's performing really well. Next reports would be about how many avi files I can watch on a single charge and probably how long the charge will last on continuous gaming app. :good:

Seems like you got a faulty battery or something wrong with your phone. Try restoring to stock ROM and check if the problem persists, also try with any other battery. Those 2430MAH batteries are very good, cheap and giving a lot more battery backup than stock. Im having them for about 7 months and never faced any problem

I use stock rom (XXLF3) and the original battery is working well... I have recharged the battery by forcing into an external charger, it worked, but when I try with the phone on, after a few seconds it turns off and the symbol of the crossed out battery appears.
Può essere dovuto a un qualche tipo di controllo del software?
Can you please PM me where you buy your battery?

Polarcell Battery

I got a Polarcell battery for my Desire but the Battery doesnt show the correct voltage.
The voltage stays always at 3923mV.
I already sended the battery back and the new one does exactly the same thing.
Also the phone discharges pretty fast until 20% and takes almost the same time to discharge again to 1-2%
Battery History:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11911028/battery_history.txt
Any ideas?
Is there any file where i can adjust the settings for the battery (other capacity or stuff like this)?
Edit: I also installed a stock rom, because i thought its because of the custom kernel but it wasnt
I'd recommend getting a refund for the product and getting a genuine battery direct from HTC.

I honestly don't know. One time it got down to 20% after about close of two and a half days of use and I plugged it in before I went to bed and in the morning it's at 100% (around 7 hours of sleep).

So i don't have this exact item, i have the Zerolemon battery/case, pretty much the same looking case.
I bought a triple pack of these (when the triple pack was available) just so I had room for error.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/NFC-Antenn...LS997-VS995-/142761205846?hash=item213d3b2056
The trick isn't getting it on the case, it's getting it on the phone, then actually using it. I got it prety much in a spot now where i can have google pay work 80-90% of the time, otherwise the card terminal thinks I'm placing multiple cards on the reader. I have to generally tilt the phone sideways a bit and hold it at an angle for it to detect properly @ Walgreens.

I got the LG V20 Battery Perfine 6400mAh and am pretty happy with it - have had it for some time now. It was like the feel of having a whole new mobile when I put it on. 6400mAh has been enough for me for a whole day and I don't remember that iv had any day that it could not go through a day of work as of yet. Maybe I need to do some harder use on it but overall it seems I don't need something with more juice then this.

Wrong! I live in USA. Huawei told me I'd have to send it to them in singapore when it was regionally made. The risk of loss from shipping overseas alone outweighs any cost however small or large.

He mentioned he did it,
Easily done with hair dryer just go careful, if I was doing it, I'd buy replacement back as I have a habit of cracking back panels
Dependent on battery you will need oem to see significant difference
Use accubatery to see current battery health
Mines at 91 percent after 19 months
So no need to change yet

Yes. I changed my phone battery today, took less than 45min in total.
1. Used Dyson hairdryer (focus on the border) to heat up the seal glue (15-20min), used metal flat opener to open the back panel.
2. Followed battery replacement video youtube it.
3. I purchased the phone battery and adhesive from Aliexpress(received in two weeks)
4. My phone's original battery lasted me 2 years and 10 months, wear 38%, and the battery used to last me a day for medium usage.
I change the battery today and post charging to 100%, it has been 4 hours with very light usage, and it's still at 100%. Definitely recommend changing the battery yourself if you can follow the steps properly from a youtube video. In comparison to the original battery with the same usage original battery would have dropped to 94-95%.

Hey, Don't recommend replacing with a non-OEM battery, its too risky.

Hey rocky,
Hows your new battery doing so far? Give me an update on its status and SOT, how many days before recharge?
Looking forward..!!
So far so good, battery lasts pretty much 1.5-2 days as compared to the previous 0.8 to 1 day. The glue was not very strong to had to change it with another pack(I didn't install the first glue properly). No issues so far.
Charging time from 3% to 100 % is 70-90min.

Appreciate that. But my ohne is like 2 years old. Why does my phone last 4 days on average and you got a new batt which lasts up to 2 days only? I dont get it.
