Mi Max Prime Global ROM (64/128gb Helium Version) - Xiaomi Mi Max Questions & Answers

Hi
Has anybody flashed the new official global rom for Helium version. It is now called Prime:
http://en.miui.com/download-302.html#458
I am on RR and it's very stable so reluctant to change but was wondering if anybody had anything good to say about it.
Thanks
Paul.

Its pretty much no different than the Hydrogen global rom. You're not missing much.

I have flashed the official global ROM using the procedure I mentioned in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max/help/installing-stock-official-rom-vendor-rom-t3471329
The global ROM has some new features (second space, dual apps, scrolling screenshots, closer to stock android/material
design, etc.) not previously available on MIUI 7. The new features are useful, but not of much importance to me.
I was really hoping the new MIUI8 global rom would have the 'dpi' feature I so missed in my Huawei Mate 7
so I can fit more lines of text in one screen full --- no need to unlock bootloader or root phone.
Apparently, Xiaomi doesn't seem to find the feature important enough in a phone with a huge 6.4" screen size.
Also, I was hoping the screen sensitivity issue would be solved. Mi Max seems not as accurate in distinguishing and
detecting various swiping angles and long press gestures as my Huawei Mate 7. Slightly diagonal swipes are sometimes
confused with horizontal swipes... sometimes swipes don't register consistently. Long press sometimes require
a take 2 get it right or a really 'long and hard' press to register. Other times, just a light press will do to
activate the copy/paste options. This screen sensitivity/inaccuracy must be a MIUI thing... otherwise, its probably
because of Xiaomi cutting corners (cheap hardware).

I am on custom 7.3.14.0.0 MiMax Prime (128GB) - unlocked and
Fastboot to 8.0.3.0 (that was 7zipped tgz file and usb debugging on) gives error message "mismatching image and device"
The flash goes all the way green, but keeps saying flashing
After more than an hour switched it off and it rebooted to 7.3.14.0.0 ok but no MIUI8, stayed on 7
Any ideas to get to 8?

Commonly asked Mi Max questions with answers (UPDATED 19/03/2017)

Hey guys, just switched to this phone, and since it's so new to the market, very few resources are available to explain some common problems. I'll try and answer some of those.
How do you unlock the bootloader on the Mi Max?
- apply for bootloader unlock permission on http://en.miui.com/unlock/, wait for a couple of days, download the app. Once you get the permission, then it gets a bit tricky. To unlock the bootloader you need the Chinese Developer ROM . This isn't mentioned ANYWHERE along the official site. It's frustrating. Follow the steps in this guide - http://en.miui.com/thread-307139-1-1.html, but use the fastboot ROM of Chinese Developer ROM instead of the global stable ROM. Once you have Chinese Developer ROM running, make sure you turn on Find My Phone via Mi App. This is important otherwise you will get 'Could not verify' message. Once the find my phone thing is running, it's easy to unlock the bootloader. Just follow the official guide via the app.
How do I root Mi Max?
Once the phone has been unlocked, use fastboot to flash TWRP. How? See here - http://en.miui.com/thread-293031-1-1.html. Once you have TWRP running, download and flash SuperSU, and you're all good.
My Mi Remote app will only show Chinese remotes and not my country's local remotes. Why?
Switch over the locale to your local country in settings > additional settings, and restart the app. All done.
Which screen protector is best for my Mi Max?
Actually, buyer beware - NONE of the tempered glasses work well on the Mi Max. They don't cover the whole screen. The Mi Max has a curved 2.5D screen, so the right and left edges don't get covered by the tempered glass. Looks pretty ugly to be honest. I've ordered a Chinese TPU screen guard from aliexpress that claims to cover the whole screen. I'll update this guide when I get it.
Does the Mi Max have double tap to wake?
Yes it does! But it is turned off by default. Go to settings>display to turn it on.
What other hardware problems are there with the Mi Max?
The charger port is made from aluminum. It is very soft, so just by using it a couple of times, you'll end up getting ridges along the bottom side, where the micro USB cable goes. It's a problem with all recent Xiaomi phones, and you can't do anything about it. See this pic for details - http://i.imgur.com/z7ckOuB.jpg. I've tried to highlight the 2 tracks made by the micro USB cable along the charger port.
Also, the body is easily scratched at the chamfered aluminum edges, so make sure you handle it with care. The metal is just too soft. It is makes the Mi Max very slippery.
How is the speaker on the Mi Max?
Coming from a Oneplus One, the single bottom firing speaker (yes, single. The other is a dummy) was a huge disappointment. It barely gets the job done, and it's one area where I personally feel Xiaomi shouldn't have cut corners.
How is the Snapdragon 650 processor on the Mi Max? Does it lag or stutter?
Let me put all fears to rest - this is the smoothest phone I've ever used, period. I've used a lot of them, but this phone is by far the smoothest. No lags, stutters, out of memory problems, app redraws, nothing. Everything just works.
How long does it take to charge the Mi Max?
From zero to 100%, with a quick charge charger, it'll take around 2 hours. On the standard charger, around 3 hours. But let me tell you - you'll end up forgetting your charger. The phone is a true beast in the battery department. I easily get 2.5 days worth of battery with around 9 hrs screen on time with a single charge. It's unbelievable.
UPDATE -
I was just tinkering around with Mi MAX and trying out LOS14.1, and ran into 2 problems -
My PC stopped recognizing my Xiaomi Mi Max phone all of a sudden. The USB won't work and the phone is not recognized. What should I do?
Assuming your USB cable and phone USB port are working, you can do the following -
(1) Go to C:\Windows\INF
(2) Type “wpdmtp.inf” in search bar provided to the right of the address bar in Windows 10.
(3) Once you have found it, just right click on it and select install. It will take a few seconds.
(4) Connect your device to the pc.
Done.
How do I get past the TWRP screen that asks for a password to decrypt my phone after clean flashing MIUI via EDL mode?
So here's a strange bug I found - if you clean flash MIUI via EDL/MiFlash tool, then flash TWRP and boot into it, it will ask for a password to decrypt. Now, my limited research tells me noone knows the password. So, what now?
1. BACK UP ALL YOUR DATA including songs, pics, contacts AND TRANSFER THEM TO A PC/DRIVE/CLOUD. THIS is very important! What we'll do will format your internal memory completely.
2. skip the password screen
3. go to wipe
4. select the right hand button that says wipe data
5. reboot to recovery again
6. you'll note that if you try to boot into MIUI, you will not be able to do so. This is because you now have an unencrypted data folder but the stock kernel cannot read that. The solution? You need to flash SuperSU on it. But we just formatted our internal memory, how do we get the SuperSU zip? 3 ways to get past this -
a) use an external memory card. Load SuperSU zip on it, and flash the zip, and it'll boot up
b) use USB OTG drive, load it with SuperSU zip, go to mounts in TWRP, mount USB OTG, and flash it from there
c) if you don't have either of these, use adb sideload in TWRP. Go to advanced, adb sideload on TWRP. Download and rename SuperSU to supersu.zip, copy it to your adb folder on windows. Then open command propmt in your adb folder, type 'adb devices' without the quotes to start adb. Then, type 'adb sideload supersu.zip' without the quotes. ADB will flash supersu now, and the phone will boot.
That's it.
Let me know if you have more doubts!
This is a really useful post, thanks.

I have the same problem, the top and the bottom part of the phone is made from plastic. Xiaomi should have put a USB Type-C port instead of micro USB.

What do you do if your country isn't on the list? I have flashed a global ROM but it's missing most of the major countries on the locale list (e.g. the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Japan etc).

The global ROM has US as one of the locales. To be honest though, it really doesn't matter which one you pick. Before Xiaomi had US as one of the locales, I just set it has Hong Kong. Now that I'm using US, I see no difference.

So, I got the replacement unit, and guess what - it has the same hardware 'problem'. I am not sure it really is a problem as much as it is a side effect of using aluminium - the charger port gets chaffed very easily on repeated use. Anyway. The phone is awesome! Best decision ever made to buy this phone. Now, just waiting for the kernel source for Mi Max so CM 13 can come on this beast!
One small but annoying problem is when I use Gmail on the mi max, when I click on an embedded link in a mail, the browser is not on top but behind, so I have to find it using notification. Anyone else have this problem?
My 128 GB MI Max ordered on mi.com India should get delivered in a day or 2. So, how do it root it ? Would it be with MIUI 7 ? Do i upgrade to MIUI 8 before rooting?
Totally new to Xiaomi . Have been a Samsung Note user, but trying Max ( love the size ) after the Note 7 debacle. Could somebody explain in detail as to what i need to do ? read somewhere that India Mi Max is with Global ROM and it cannot be rooted.
I've followed the guide to install twrp and have flashed rr. Any way to modify the lights on the navigation buttons at the bottom? (The fixed buttons.) I'm using nova launcher.
Cheers.

No need to upgrade before rooting. It is likely to be miui 7. Follow the exact guide that is in the OP and it will work. However, get the correct TWRP (yours is model Helium).

No it won't. You have to flash the Chinese developer ROM. It won't work otherwise. Once it is rooted, you can switch back to Global ROM.

New Mi 5S Plus - essential first steps

Hello,
I will getting the Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus tomorrow.
What are some of the first things I should be doing? I feel like I will not like the MIUI too much as I have used stock android on my old Nexus and more recently Cyanogen on my OPO. I plan to install Cyanogenmod on the phone as soon as they release it.
I believe I should do the following to prepare for that so that I do not need to start from scratch in the future (unsure of order and how to do it, some advice and guides here would be helpful, as well as an explanation of the purpose of each step):
- install custom recovery (I'm 99% certain I need to do this to install another ROM)
- root the phone (I don't think this is necessary, but allows me to do other things e.g. use Greenify)
- unlock bootloader (not sure what the purpose of this is)
Are there any other steps I should take?
Thanks in advance!

What is mi ui EU rom? I have intl version of the device (Hong Kong). Does this make a difference?

Without unlocking the bootloader, you can't install any custom recovery or custom ROM, just the official Xiaomi releases.
The eu version have less chinese apps and some minor changes compared to the global version. You can check the differences in their website.
Once you have unlocked the bootloader and install twrp, becoming root is pretty easy.

If you are talking about xiaomi.eu, yes it's different.
It's based on official China ROM and as you can see the release of official Global ROM is lagging behind china rom for both mi5s versions. For example stable for Plus is 8.0.4.0 for Global (I guess just one release) while it's 8.2.2.0 for China.
It's cleaned from Chinese apps, it contains many European languages (including Italian) and gapps.

I'm on 8.0.4.0 of Global Rom and I must admit that this is the first phone which makes me so satisfied. I'm gonna stay close to later products from Xiaomi as long as they keep doing this way.
I don-t understand the different ROM-s.
I now have 8.0.4 Global Stable.
It seems tha a 8.2.2 Global Stable should come out since 20 February (but did not come out)
Then there is a 7.3.9 Global Beta released March 10

But why Beta is a LOWER number (7.3.9 to 8.0.2)???????????
Very confusing

4GB is a lot of Ram in my opinion.
Think if you need 64 or 128 of storage in your phonbe, and make your decision based on that.
As far as I know, for my usage (and I am a heavy user) 4GB of RAM is enough nowadays

Thanks for trying to help. I have now resolved the problem!. The reason phone was not sending was because of 3G signal only at my home. When I tried in a 4G area not far from my location a picture message flew through. Words of advise, just do not attempt to do anything without UNLOCKING YOUR BOOTLOADER FIRST!!
You simply cannot switch regions before taking that first preliminary step.
That's the way it goes.
Hope this helps,
Regards,

How?
Did you have to unlock the bootloader? Or you just manually push the update trought the update app?

I asked the same question, because i am on the global euro firmware, and my phone is not detecting my NAVIGO transit card through NFC. I was wondering if the global international was better regarding this matter.
I've moved from EEA to GLOBAL with Xiaomitool 2, it changes my firmware to 11.0.2 GLOBAL without unlocking the bootloader, and then I manually push the full upgrade through the update app. Then I restore my phone for a full restoration.
Working smooth without issues.

Well, I can only tell few details, the major one being better battery life.

When I am unsure what the real differences are because I think HW is the same for both Global and Eu phones, I am pretty sure Laws regarding privacy of users are more strict in EU and there are probably some alteration of bundled software to abide with them.
Those privacy laws are the main reason why neither of those Roms have default MIUI dialer + recording and Messaging, because Xiaomi collects quite a lot of data. Not saying Google does not, but they already had to abide with those Rules and Regulations, so was probably way easier to bundle default android apps, rather than patching their own apps and doing so ending up having 2 versions of the same app.
Besides that, I am pretty curious too what really are the difference between EEA and Global versions with same number. Of course if we compare two different versions of MIUI, we will always find something different.
I am not sure where we can find an official info.
UPDATE:
As I was suspecting looks like main differences are related to ads and how/what datas can be collected or not.
From this post here where users were speaking about it too, differences seems to be summarized to those main differences:
EEA is a Global Rom specially designed for Europe - which basically is just saying they are taking GDPR seriously. You won't get ads and you will need to accept a prompt on every instance where they would collect data (unlike standard Global one).
Global ROM:
This is the official worldwide ROM for all countries except China
The Global ROM has also a Beta Program
The Global ROM receives updates every 1 to 2 months
EEA ROM:
This ROM was specifically designed for EU countries
During the first setup, one can disable all ads inside Mi Apps globally, whereas in the Global ROM, one needs to do that in the Apps themselves
The EEA ROM doesn't have a Beta program
Updates seem to be slower

Hope this helps and is accurate.

Use xiaomitool v2 to change from EEA to global stable.
Just search it at xda forum, download it, and follow the instruction o both screen, PC and phone.
I had change the rom without unlocking the bootloader, no problems at all. But do it with your own responsability. I made it following the instructions from the forum of the Xiaomi Mi 9, that someone make it without unlocking bootloader. So I think than on ours phone, it was the same thing.
I delete my gmail account and the rest of account, then I follow the instruction. Clickin on My phone works correctly and i want to mod it, when Xiaomitool v2 ask me what i want to do. Then, click on global, the program itself download global rom 11.0.2 and then install via fastboot. Then i initialised the phone, put the full update global 11.0.6 zip in the phone storage, then go to update app, touch ten times miui 11 logo, and then, tap on the tree dots, manual upgrade, select the update zip. The phone installa the update and you will get your Redmi Note 8 Pro EEA 11.0.3 rom moved to Redmi Note 8 Pro GLOBAL 11.0.6.

Personally after I have debloated the phone using Saki tools (I was not aware of that 'option' to disable ads within the settings) I dont get those MIUI ads everywhere. Of course that does not remove the 'Free' applications ads from the 3rd party application you may install (freemium games and such). Adaway might deal with those, or patch of culprit app with Luckpatcher or such. Or just dont install Adware apps.
I also did not really read what was asked of me when I first started the phone, but as a general rule I answer NO to every thing
For example an other girl friend of mine, who has no computer skills and just started the phone out of the box gets ads everywhere.
An other example the MIUI app installer, which I thought was essential to run the OS, adds ads for every apk installation. You get rid of that, you fall back on regular android stock installer and it has no ads.
Basically all MIUI apps shipped with the phone en EEA has ads. So if you have no use for them, get rid off them.
Once you have removed/disabled all of those, you'll get considerably less ads showing for sure
Hope this helps.

I'm on miui 11.0.3 indian stable. I have successfully installed root via magisk in my device.

Whenever i boot into twrp, all my folder names of internal storgae are shown with absurd names as you can check in photo. While in all other folders, like sd card and others, name are being displayed correctly. Don't know why twrp is not able to read folders of my internal storage.
I didn't have space on sd card so I tried to movie zip file in my otg pen drive and then tried to flash zip "

Question Unable To Update ROM, Stuck On V12.0.11.0.RJTCNXM ("Global")

Background Info -
I purchased my 16GB x 512GB Mi MIX Fold from a reputable supplier on Alibaba. It was claimed that he was capable of making it have a "Global" ROM (a 5 - 7 day process is how long it took him). All Google services and apps were preloaded, just like my first Xiaomi Global phone I purchased 1.5 years ago. As well as only some of the Xiaomi Global apps. Now that I have the phone, I am running into a fair bit of issues (in this post I am only focusing on one). I did bring these all up to the supplier (of course including updating the ROM issues), all without much help. All he gave me was he said the ROM on my phone is actually the EEA version that was modified, and of I need any updates, go on www.xiaomi.eu. So not much help, because come to find out, they don't support the Mi MIX Fold and that there is no ROMs available. Including the current ROM my phone has right now - V12.0.11.0.RJTCNXM ("Global").
What is nice about my phone is that all the system apps are the Global versions. But what's not so great is the System Apps Updater does not work at all. It shows there are update(s) available for my Global apps, but when I update them, they are indefinitely suck at "Connecting 0%". I also tried Xiaomi's "Get Apps" while switching my Region to "India", it too showed updates, and would not update them no matter what I tried. So, I search online for each individual system app, and update each manually (yes, the whole process is a pain).
So Where I Need Some Help (The Purpose Of This Post...Updating the ROM) -
So, I am in the process of trying to update my phone's ROM, to get the best MIUI has to offer for the Mi MIX Fold. I have searched all over the internet and the only ROMs I can find are "China" versions.
My current ROM version is V12.0.11.0.RJTCNXM ("Global"). I know the most up to date ROM is V12.0.21.0.RJTCNXM (but it's the "China" version). I would like to have the current ROM, but I have a strong feeling that I will loose all functionality of all my Global system apps. The Xiaomi Updater app unfortunately does not work at all. When checking for an update, it says "No updates available". When tapping "Download latest package", it says "Can't download update...Wait a minute or two and try again". When I tap "What's new", it says "You don't have permission to access the update log...". Please see screenshots for all of this. I even tried to update it another traditional Xiaomi way by using Mi PC Suite, which it couldn't even detect my phone when connected. So that doesn't work either.
So my attempts are as follows (at least 20 attempts). I downloaded every Stable Recovery ROM version as listed in the XDA Mi MIX forum titles "MIUI Updates Tracker (Mi MIX Fold)" I also downloaded every ROM version from a couple other sources. I tried to update the ROM (from the newest version to the oldest) using the Xiaomi Updater app through Recovery Mode. Every time it failed saying "Current version is invalid. You can only flash the latest stable ROM", or "Can't verify update...Can't install official ROM". So then I downloaded the ROMs directly from mirror links to Xiaomi's server. I did the same update procedure, they all failed. Does that mean I have to do it via Fastboot?
Last Thoughts -
I included some screenshots showing what the ROM is on my phone (and the outdated Android security update), and what message comes up with each update attempt.
Could you guys point me in the right direction and help me figure out how I can update my Mi MIX Fold to the most current ROM, preferably the EEA version (if possible), since there really is no such thing as a Global version? I would be extremely appreciative if someone can shed some light!
Hi my suggestions is to backup your data firstly from there download the latest fastboot stable of the rom. From there before anything make sure oem unlocked is there inside your phone if not you need to wait 167 hours to fastboot flash the rom. Guides of unlocking is online you can search for that. After that, download the miflash.exe file, that can also be found online and from there flash it with it to the latest Rom . Hope that helps. If you are still unsure , you can always search online of "Flashing with fastboot xiaomi Rom"

Thank you very much for your response!
OK, so it looks like I will have no choice but to get rid of the custom "Global" ROM for the China version. I do wonder though if I am going to lose out on anything as far as the Global system apps (but won't update, unless manually), or all the Google apps & services, or anything else. There of course are many benefits switching to the China ROM.
I'm just a little reluctant because of it being a China ROM being used on a phone in the US. And having features that only work in China and is not optimized for the Global market. As well as features usually found on a Global Xiaomi phone, would be missing or can't work at all. Maybe I am overthinking it all. Another concern is if the China ROM would have English as a language that can be choses. I assume so, but it would be a plus to know 100% before I make the plunge.
Only if I could play around with a Mi MIX Fold with a fresh install of the China ROM. See how different it really is compared to what I currently have. See what it comes with (apps & all) & what is or isn't compatible. My previous, & only Xiaomi phone, was the Global version of the Mi Note 10 Pro. So I have, I guess you can call it, a Xiaomi Global mindset. My Mi MIX Fold is my daily driver, I can't play too much around. Also if I do flash it with China ROM, I can't revert it back to the ROM it has now, since it seems to be custom. Unless I can somehow backup absolute everything, ROM and all.
I know this is a simple question, but what and how is the very best method to back everything up? To not only make sure no data is lost, but also to make the whole process faster when restoring everything.
Do you have any other suggestions or advice? I would appreciate it!
The custom global rom is not official and you will never get update.
I recommend you to mi flash the chines rom, but you will lose everything.
Google will be available the chines ROM.

Question Best A13 ROM for Mi 11x

I tried Pixel experience but it was giving me issues. Currently on PixelOS and it is working fine. I have not tried any other ROM as it is hassle to backup, restore and then entering password of apps.... Not sure, but perhaps most of the ROMs does not come with Gcam or ANX. So which is the best A13 ROM for Mi 11x with a working ANX or Gcam?

I run the AMAZING Evo-X 7.4 rom, its solid as a rock and works brilliant for me.
I would suggest to check out the Evo-X thread, you might even find me on there
Now the Pain with switching rom is having to re-install all you apps and loosing their data,
as far as i aware there is no A12/A13 Recovery that backs up the complete phone like the Clockwordmod days.
I use a great program called Migrate-GPE it comes in three parts and is FREE, its available on the App store but i have uploaded the version i use, you need to be ROOTED to use this app.
Migrate-GPE saves most of your apps including their data, excluding Banking and Magisk apps,
I love it as it save all my offline maps, battery stats, ect.
Have fun.

I also tried Evolution-X, but it has a major drawback. If you go back to MIUI it gives you the "find device storage corrupted" error. Also makes your device uncertified. I eventually fixed both these but it was a massive pain.

Apparently it does but "find device storage corrupted" error it`s a easy fix as long as you have Twrp Recovery,
As for "Device Uncertified" i might flash MIUI Stock to see if i encounter this issue before return back to EVO-X.
I feel there is no advantage returning to stock due to firmware limitations,
if and when your device needs warranty repair, sending it in with non Miui Firmware installed shouldn`t affect your claim.

Wish I knew that. Can you explain how it's done? I tried flashing persist using twrp but that didn't fix it in my case.
I went back to miui because I was experiencing battery drain on Evo-X. And maybe it's just me but my eyes felt strained on Evo-X for some reason.

Could someone send a dump of persist partition?
I have the error device is not certified with locked bootloader after reflashing the persist partition when it was corrupted (I took persist.img file from fastboot rom). I think that a dump of persist partition from the other poco f3 may solve...

Well i actually switched to crDROID for about a week, while using crDROID and replying to posts on XDA a user pointed out the "Device Storage" issue and portioned the blame at the Evo-X rom, as a test i downgraded from crDROID back to stock "eea_V12.5.6.0.RKHEUXM" firmware and yes i received the "NAG SCREEN"
Using the above method I installed a new Persist.img and the nag screen disappeared.
As their was a rumor still going around blaming Evo-X,
again as a test i downgraded to "eea_V12.5.6.0.RKHEUXM" over the top of Evo-X V7.4 that i`ve been using for a week and the nag screen wasn`t present ,
I the Evo-X rom its AMAZING

Hi,
1. Fast charging works great, but then i use a QI wireless charging adaptor, check out my post on the Poco F3 thread.
2. My phone last me around 9 hours, as i`m not a massive phone user,
I charge my phone from 45% to 65%, this give me enough charge for a day and generates 0.02 cycles of battery wear, the amazing Evo-X rom has the "Smart Charging" function.

it think it`s org.lineageos.aperture Version code 33.

I`ve been playing/experimenting with customs roms for over 10 years starting with the HTC Wildfire, i then moved on to the early Samsungs Pre KNOX and then on to LG phones, i still have my LG G7.
I have seen the evolution of Android over the years and it`s been mind blowing and the quality of Custom rom`s and their Dev`s is outstanding.
I choose to upgraded my G7 as LG unfortunately left the smartphone market and custom roms were getting scarce, so i settled on the F3 because it was easy to unlock, had Great specs and dev support, also being one of the most popular xiaomi phones on XDA helps and it was great value for money.
I have run maybe 6 major roms as my daily driver over the last 13 months that I have owned the F3, I have also tested maybe another 10 - 15 roms out of curiosity.
I have found that EVO-X is the most polished rom that i have come across with all the major feature that most users need and i like to give credit when credit it`s due.

Do u by any chance know of MIUI13 ROM which allow smart unlock feature? I know through custoMIUIzation module i can do it, but i was just wondering if someone has optimized MIUI13 for Mi11x with such features unblocked to save the hassle.
I have installed EVO-X and it is good. But i miss "Themes" feature of MIUI which changes over all skin of the phone with so many options to search for. What i like the most that it changes wallpapers, icon, system setting, lockscreen, colors etc in one go. I tried to find an alternative app and even tried installing MIUI's theme module but to no avail. TBH i am only missing that feature.
bliss Rom allows it, I am on 16.2 build and it's perfect for me. My favorite rom in general is crdroid, but last version of bliss Rom hits all my criterias (hbm, power toggle for torch, really smooth and good battery backup...). It is a pity it lacks visibility here
