Nomu S30 Hardware features:
* MTK Helio P10 chipset Octa core - MT6755
* Mali 860 GPU
* 13 MP main camera (interpolated to 16 MP) SONY IMX 214
* 5 MP front camera (interpolated to 8 MP) in unit I am testing it is OmniVision OV5648
* 5,5 inch display with 1080p FullHD resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4

The MTK Helio P10 chipset relies on a 64-bit octa-core processor MT6755 , comprised of 8 Cortex-A53 cores, four of which are ticking at up to 2GHz, while the other four are clocked lower, though an exact number isn't specified.
A dual-core Mali-T860 GPU is in charge of graphics.
Nomu S30 is packed in carton box which contains Nomu S30, charger & cable, Warranty and user manual, headphones.
DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION
The Nomu S30 is all Titanium alloy structure fortified with heavy-duty plastic and metal. The titanium alloy unit reinforced by octagon structure which by itself gives S30 powerful, resilient and unique image.
It looks great with the sides with brushed aviation type aluminium and very decorative metal pins holding the elegant construction.
Edges of octagon are rounded moulded from rubberised plastic to endure crashes from the height of more than 1 meter.
Design is attractive and gives elegant military impression. The artistic impression of all sides is the proof of modern advanced technology used in manufacturing process.
Left side view on PTT button
Right side view with Vol +- & Power
Nomu did a fantastic job designing the S30. S30 is IP68. Actually 4 x protection.
* Waterproof
* Dust-proof
* Shockproof
* Extreme temperature
The build of the device is flawless. The phone is firm and it doesn’t bend.
Dimensions 162×83×13.35 mm
Weight 260g
Material Aluminum titanium combined bracket.
The back piece and aluminum sides shun fingerprints and scratches.
The phone is easy to grab and hold, thanks to the rounded edges.
The sensory buttons have a back-light
Standard volume rocker and the power button made of aluminum are placed on the right side, which is a standard positioning considering the modern design. The volume and power buttons give a slight audible click when used.
On left side a PTT button is placed for SOS signals .
The back cover resembles zigzag pattern of chick black & silver gray plastic very aesthetic in handling.
The cover is sealed tight and part of it seals the 2x SIM and SD card slot behind the logo of Nomu.
Very HANDY.
On the top of the phone, we can find a standard 3.5 audio jack for you to enjoy your favorite music.
The USB port is at the bottom of the device, alongside with the NXP speakers. This model protects you in any environment so all external connections are equipped with stoppers made from the same rubberized plastic as the rest of the sides..
DISPLAY
The display packs a 5. 5-inch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD).
Pixel density is 480 dpi. Display technology used is IPS and this solution gives more natural colors and a unique user experience considering the screen colors.
The colors are quite vivid and natural. Being a solid SHARP IPS display, viewing angles are excellent with little to no color and contrast changes when viewing from extreme angles. Viewing angles are good and the screen is readable even in direct sunlight. The control buttons are back-lit. They are good visible in daylight as well as at night.
The display is 10 point multi- touch.
Corning Gorilla Glass 4
The response of the digitizer is really good. It reacts even on gentle touches with fast and precise response. The digitizer is really extra in this case. The auto-brightness setting works quite fine. Nomu S30 has a glove mode enabling using TP in difficult weather conditions.
PERFORMANCE & STORAGE
The heart of Nomu S30 is its Octa -core processor MT6755 clocked at the speed of 2 GHz. Chipset used is Mediatek MTK Helio P10 .
MTK 860 GPU .
RAM memory capacity is 4 GB.
If you want to enjoy playing games, this phone will provide a high gaming experience and rich sensory pleasures also in sound experience provided by NXP sound chip.
Internal storage capacity is 64 GB.
After the system has taken up it’s share we’re left with about 50 GB free and if this is not enough for you, there is an option for expanding the storage capacity with a microSD card up to 32GB giving you a total of 80 GB of usable memory should you need it.
AndroBench – eMMC performance is above good especially in regard to Reading Speed of above 271MB/s. For everyday tasks even Write Speed of above 13MB/s is quit high considering models of other manufacturers.
Overall performance is outstanding considering the high price range it is self-evident on the AnTuTu Benchmark of 46881 which I do for the fun of benchmark fans but which is not to be relied on very much.
Antutu Benchmark results compared to other flagships.
Sensors:
Nomu S30 GPS
I have made the GPS test inside the house.
The first cold lock on the Nomu S30 took less than 20 seconds, and subsequent locks were instantly fast at 5 seconds.
SNR is exceptionally good, with satellites bumping up into the low 40 ’s times.
Nomu 30 supports GPS and A-GPS and it’s also capable of registering Glonass satellites. .
Network
Nomu S30 has 4G support LTE CAT.6
Speed test connected to 4G Orange network on Nomu S30
Result:
Download 55 Mbps upload 18 Mbps
Camera
Dual camera system is incorporated in the new Nomu S30 model.
The rear camera has 13 MP SONY IMX214 used already with success in many flagships
Interpolated to 16 MP main camera SONY IMX 214.S30 uses the newest 13 MP image sensor from Sony and features PDAF and RWB technology. F 2.0 aperture and 6P optical lens can take sharp pictures even in low light condition. Rugged as Nomu S30 is you can make photographs and video underwater. Sony IMX214 sensor ensures for a quality beyond 200 USD mobile phone although software could offer more editing options.
If you enjoy taking selfies this model is definitely for you since the front camera also has 5 MP OmniVision OV5648. This interpolated to 8MP selfie camera is above average considering other models. The OmniVision front camera produces beyond adequate images for social sharing your travels or being occupied with rugged tasks of life.
Operating System (OS)
The all new Nomu S30 runs on Android 6 Marshmallow, which is energy efficient. A standard user will quickly find his way while using this device and the overall user experience is at its top. There are few bloat-ware apps pre-installed which after rooting can be removed.
No spontaneous restart occurred to me during the review. Everything is running smoothly.
The system has a set of smart gestures that works even when the phone is turned off. You can start he device by double tap, or using specific gesture to start a specific app.
The system also offers smart motion support , when by moving the phone you can for example, answer a call, automatically dial etc.
S30 offers even a glove and wet finger touch mode for extreme weather
Battery
New Nomu S30 has 5000mAh battery with PumpExpress 3.0 fast charge support offering you 30 hours of talk time and outstanding 70 days standby time
I have made a test of draining with light use of phone for 12 hours of standby battery charge went to 96%
Sound
It’s cool to discover after unboxing that the manufacturer added headphones . The sound is clean and the sound from the speaker is flat and very enjoyable for listing music or watching movies.
In my list below you can see the arranged qualities and flaws of this handset.
Pros
• Great military type design with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and performance of MTK Helio P10
• Excellent Back camera 13 MP Sony IMX214

• PTT SOS button for emergency

IP68 with corning Gorilla Glass 4
Source
https://www.facebook.com/nomumobile/

Many phones have Gorilla Glass 4 or better and are not advertised as drop-proof. When I think of a drop-proof phone I think the Galaxy S7 Active or Moto Z Force. This is not drop proof and 1.2 meters isn't very far. I'm not saying its a bad phone and if attractively priced it might compete well considering waterproofing at a mid-range price. But don't call it any more durable than any other modern phone in a decent case.

Many brands that happen after many years to adopt Gorilla glass do not have IP68 or less neither.
Many established brands do not meet waterproof claims even when called rugged. Consumer has to choose carefully.
IP68 of Nomu S30 does not come from alone having Gorilla Glass 4.
Nomu S30 has a titanium aluminium alloy military-grade construction which is the beginning of shatter-resistant unit build on octagon blue-print with heavy-duty rubber to reduce the impact force from every accidental drop.
Nomu also claims NXP waterproof speaker.
Nomu so to see has re-thought the ruuged from every angle.

Water-Proof Test of the DOOGEE T5
DOOGEE T5 is the world’s first smartphone that combines the DIY style with 3-proofing. The Rugged Nature and Exchangeable Style, makes you have more choices basing on the environment's appearance and style.
They made a water-proof test (IP67 protection). If it resists, it means surviving in the harsh outdoor environment is not a problem.
Website: http://www.doogee.cc
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/doogee.cc
Twitter: https://twitter.com/DOOGEE_official
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/doogee_official
IP67 Protection, what does it mean?
DOOGEE has labeled the T5 with IP67 Certification so to understand its level of water resistance we need to check what IP67 certification means. The certification system is administered by the International Electrotechnical Commission and can be broken down as follows:
IP stands for Ingress Protection
- The first digit is on a scale of 0 to 6 and represents the level of dust protection the device offers (higher numbers are better)
- The second digit is on a scale of 0 to 9 and represents the level of water protection the device offers (higher numbers are better)
Based on this scale (and according to the IEC), the DOOGEE T5 should offer full dust protection and water protection when submerged in up to 1 meter of water for a 30 minute duration.
Considering its Rugged design, i would expect even better protection from this smartphone, but is has been certified as IP67 so any other test that doesn't meet this spec. then it would be at your own risk.
Also, for those who are interested, the DG700 (practically the device on which the T5 is based on) is now even more discounted than before (because its successor is near the door), but this is a limit offer until this weekend.
The DOOGEE T5 is kind of upgraded version of the DG700, which also combined the 3-proofing with the similar luxury appearance. The back cover has two choices, the crocodile texture calfskin and lambskin.
This is the DOOGEE DG700 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/doogee-titans-2-dg700-unboxing-hands-t2953664
If you can’t wait for the T5, you can buy a DG700 first because that's still a good device that shares many features.
Giveaway from DOOGEE!

DOOGEE is waiting for your creative slogan for T5. The slogan can be humorous or poetic, but brief. They will giveaway 3 different gifts (one is the T5).
Follow the FB link and write your slogan
Time Limit: July 29 - August 14 (2016 of course)
Finally it is Official!
The DOOGEE T5 will be launched on the 15th of August on DOOGEE's Official Website, where there will be a voting activity with the theme "The businessport phone, which style would you like?". Anyone can vote by choosing the Business T5 or the Sporty T5.
As a first round, it will be available on all official licensed stores, that can be found on the DOOGEE's website, then it will be also available on eBay & Amazon starting from mid-September.
Features:
Dual Style & IP67
The DOOGEE T5 is the world's first phone that combines dual appearance with IP67. It provides two appearances to be changed in seconds, and the relevant UI as well. Reaching IP67 rate, it means that it proofs water, dust and pressure.
13Mpix with PDAF, a Flagship Camera
Normal tri-proof phones do not perform well as regards photo quality, except the DOOGEE T5. 13Mpix Samsung Rear Camera with PDAF and 5Mpix Front Camera offer an outstanding shooting experience.
Comparison between DG700 & T5:
The DOOGEE T5 is a kind of upgraded version of the DG700. Compared to the quad-core CPU used in the DG700, the 8x 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 processors of the T5 highly increases the performance.
The DG700 has 5Mpix front camera and 8Mpix rear camera, while the T5 has 5Mpix front camera and 13Mpix rear camera with PDAF.
Compared with the 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM of the DG700, the T5 has 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM, and the 32GB ROM memory can be expanded up to 64GB. You can keep all your stuff.
Last, but not least, compared with the 4000mAh battery of the DG700, the T5 has 4500mAh battery and 5V/2A fast charge.

Notification LED?!
Does this phone have a notification LED?
I've been asking in different forums and even the licensed reseller stores, I still don't have an answer! ... It's still a pre-order item.
I held off buying the Blackview BV6000 because of this issue, no notification LED, how can a manufacturer miss this small, yet purposely vital feature?!

I'll receive it next week so I'll let you know soon, but I think it doesn't have it. Check the DOOGEE video where they tested its waterproof capabilities, in the Settings menu (shown in this video) it should be shown if present.

Charging/charged LED Notification is not in the settings menu, WTF, is this your 1st phone? .... And what does a video testing its waterproofness have to do with my question?

I mean, check that video, they are showing you the Settings Menu after they take the device from Water (i remember that), so check if in that menu there is any kind of indication to the Notification Light or something similar. (unfortunately there isn't a specific menu name, MTK devices are a bit weird about this)
My reply wasn't too clear, but it wasn't neither so hard to understand...someone needs to calm down it seems...
Development & Support thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/doogee-t5-development-support-t3445982
Doogee released a video of production process for T5:
Probably the best spec of this T5 is the IP67 certification and shock proof integrated frame/case:
I got the device some days ago and yeah it is pretty good.
The chassis is pretty well made, Android works extremely smooth and I haven't faced any issue yet with it. Only the back cover management isn't perfect (if you change the cover/style, the UI theme gets automatically changed, but not always).
As usual, I'll provide you a review of the device soon.
Introduction
This is the businessport DOOGEE T5 Review.
Hardware
This device is powered by a Mediatek MT6753 SOC clocked at 1.3GHz, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. It shares the same classic Rear Camera sensor used by the Redmi 3 Pro (13MP Samsung S5K3L8 with PDAF) while the Front Camera sensor is a 5MP OmniVision OV5648. The manufacturer of the Screen isn't known yet, but it is pretty good and super bright. Follow my next paragraphs to know more.
Unboxing
Packaging comes with an huge amount of accessories, including 2 different back covers and frames for Dual Appearance: 1x Plastic Screen Protector, 1x OTG Cable, 1x SIM/MicroSD tray Eject Tool, 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/2A USB Charger, 1x Quick Start Guide, and the Smartphone (of course).
As already said before, you will find 2 appearances in order to customize your Device's Style depending on the environment (or the tastes why not). I'll talk about this in one of the next paragraph.
The device has a Rugged Chassis, that mixes Metal, Plastic and Rubber for the best protection possible. Do not forget that this is IP67 Certified, so you can have fun with it without having to worry about its, and probably yours too, safety.
It feels super solid, the best made device i have ever tried as regards build quality. As certified by DOOGEE, and following IP67 protection, it is water-proof (up to 1 meter), dust-proof and pressure-proof. Let's say it, it is also kid-proof haha.
Being a rugged device you can't expect compact sizes, but it is lighter than another device i have tried some months ago that wasn't rugged (CUBOT H2), so DOOGEE did a great job as regards its build quality.
It is 15.37x7.84x1.37mm (using the Sporty Cover, because that's what i like most) and it weights 223g, again not too much considering that it is rugged.
On the front side there is the Standard Display, no 2.5D or anything similar, with big bezels. The upper front side of the device features a Front-Facing Camera, an Earpiece with a nice Silver Frame, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. No Notification LED is here unfortunately.
On the lower front side there is only the Soft Keys zone, with Menu, Home and Back buttons. As you might notice, on the upper & lower areas of the device there is a Glossy Finiture, that's the block where the ports are hidden just behind.
On the back side it's where the magic happens. Dual Back Covers, and everytime you change the back cover also the UI gets automatically changed. (basically an automatic theme switch)
The upper rear side of the device features the Samsung Camera Sensor supported by a Single (the Quick Start guide says Dual, but i can only see one) Rounded Flash (Single-Tone) configuration, and nothing else.
The lower rear side of the device features the huge speaker hole, that allows the huge internal speaker to output audio at maximum volume.
Device
DIY Instructions/Demostration (T5 Exclusive!)
So, if you are one of my followers you might have noticed this neverseen paragragh in this review. This device explains why. Being the only one that allows you to change between two styles, i thought that a demostration or anything else about it might be interesting for you all.
Starting from the Screwdriver required to handle the whole process, just imagine which type you need. Yes, a T5 Screwdriver haha.
Anyway, as regards the screws there are two used types, with different size. The longest type is used only with the Sporty sides, while the standard/shorter type is used with the Business sides.
My recommendation is to not use the Screwdriver provided in the package, because it isn't good and i managed to destroy it with just a few usages. This is the only negative aspect i have noticed about the kit.
Use your own Screwdriver, and it will provide you best results without having to worry about its safety.
As you might probably think, is it possible to mix the styles? My reply is: YES! This is what a did to my T5. Business Sides with Sporty Back Cover, providing best protection while leaving the sporty design.
If you want to know more info about this paragraph, just leave here a post and i will reply you.
Screen
The screen is pretty good, super bright but there is a small (barely noticeable) backlight bleeding on the left corner.
Light Sensor works pretty well and it supports smooth light changes. This is the maximum screen brightness.
Viewing Angles are perfect, comparable to an AMOLED screen. (excluding the IPS limitations)
Camera
Rear Camera is a pretty good Samsung ISOCELL, so it provides some nice quality photos on almost every condition. More photos (such as outdoor ones) coming soon, i have a cold right now...
Flashlight isn't perfect, but it is pretty powerful. As you can see, it is a just a bit under-positioned compared to the Camera Sensor. It might be an engineering sample issue maybe, i don't know.
As regards Video Recording, 1080p videos (Video Quality – Fine) are recorded with an high level of details, just remember that there is no OIS so you can’t expect stable videos.
Front Camera records decent photos, and it seems to be a wide-angle variant. Selfie-lovers will appreciate it.
Audio
Speaker is how nearly as good as you would expect from a rugged device. Decently-Loud! Well it lacks low-frequencies a bit, it is slightly muffled maybe due to its waterproof protection but its volume is high.
In-Call Quality is near-excellent, finally an earpiece where there isn't the usual low-clarity sound. Loud (maybe also a bit too much), and with good clarity.
As regards the Microphone, it works decently well in any case (in-call, VOIP, etc...).
The Audio Department has been accurately enough designed, so i thank DOOGEE for taking care about this.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Thanks to the 4G Band 20 support (some other Chinese Smartphones don’t have it), I’m almost always and everywhere connected to the 4G Network of my Mobile Network Provider (TIM Italy).
Also 3G Signal Reception is accurate, even though some 3G frequencies are missing, maybe my engineering sample will get other frequencies with an update, who knows.
4G Network Speed is pretty good, it highly depends on your Mobile Operator and mine isn’t pretty good. While 3G Network Speed, is just fine as it should.
WiFi 5GHz isn't supported here, so only 2.4GHz WiFi speed can be tested. I managed to get connected to my network connection at 65mbps, and Speed Tests reached more or less 41mbps.
Battery Life (do not rely on my test)
I have measured the real battery capacity using my USB Tester, and its capacity is a bit lower than declared. Declared 4500mAh, Real ~4310mAh. (190mAh missing, nothing serious).
The Geekbench Battery Test provided some nice results, and the software used on my device isn't 100% ready-to-use so will probably get even better with next updates.
https://browser.primatelabs.com/battery3/383660
Software
The Software is completely clean, with an almost complete Nexus-like experience. As all latest devices, it is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with some minor customizations and some extra-apps installed such as "Bagan Keyboard", "Xender", "Documents to Go" and "Parallel Space". Don't worry though, they can be disabled.
As every DOOGEE device, also this one has the usual Settings App with Black Background. Also, following other Mediatek devices, Gestures are here.
The Theme Management is easy to use, just go to the Wallpaper Chooser and you will be redirected to the Themes app. Useful if you want to switch between the Business & Sporty UIs without having to worry about the installed back cover.
Also, there is a Magnetometer/Compass here, but lacks a Gyroscope & Barometer.
There isn't anything else special about the software. It runs super smooth thanks to its HD-Only display, always responsive and there are always more than 2 GB of Free RAM on idle.
Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 3, GFXBench, PCMark (Work & Storage) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – GPU Performance is better than other MT6753 devices, but still low on OpenGL 3.0 & 3.1 tests. You can’t expect something better, this is still a mid-range GPU.
Other 3DMark tests can be found on my Imgur album linked at the bottom of the thread.
AndroBench – eMMC Performance is good, especially as regards Reading Speed. Writing Speed isn’t as good as other devices though, maybe it requires a little software update, anyway still high enough to handle almost every task.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – As you can see, 3D performance is pretty high. 3D Games will run with no issues at all.
GeekBench – CPU Performance is nearly as good as other CPUs with the same configuration (8x Cortex-A53), enough to handle almost every type of activity.
PCMark – As you can see, only Writing score is a bit low compared to other scores. Pretty good.
Work
Storage
Even if this device is still running a not-so-new MT6753 CPU, it still performs well and the HD-Only screen helps the GPU to provide best performance everywhere. As i always say, with an MT6753 the HD-Only display works best.
Conclusions
DOOGEE did a great job with this device, probably the only Rugged device that doesn't have an ugly chassis or anything bad. Together with the DIY fun, it confirms that it is also a different device than others. It provides nice performance, great screen quality and a good camera creating a good combination of aspects.
I might have expected a better CPU, but it would have increased its price so it is good as is. Cheap enough, solid and fun.
So, do I recommend it? If you are searching for a Rugged Device, or for a different device that everyone can notice being unique, then Yes! Of course if you are searching for a slim or anything else, then this isn't for you.
Pros:
Super-Bright Screen
Solid and Well-Made
IP67 Certified
Compass/Magnetometer Sensor

RUGGED!
Cons:
Flashlight is a bit under-positioned
Speaker Output is a bit muffled
No Gyroscope & Barometer
No WiFi 5GHz Support

DOOGEE T5 Lite - Lite version of the T5 is coming, at the official price of 100USD
All the features of T5 Lite are same of the T5 that DOOGEE launched on 15th August.
T5 and T5 lite allow users to enjoy DIY fun as their main feature on both device is the dual-appearance. One of the appearance features a crocodile textured back cover and the other one is a sporty PolyCarbonate back cover. Further more, their inner UI automatically changes while the outer shell are replaced.
Although T5 Lite will be sold at only 100USD (Official Price), half of the T5 Price, it still provides the cool and useful IP67 certification, which means that it can proof water, dust and pressure.
The main differences between the models are in the processor, memory and camera departments. The T5 Lite is Quad-Core (maybe MT6735?) with 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM, 5Mpix OmniVision front camera, 8Mpix SONY IMX219 rear camera. Everything else is exactly the same as on the T5.
So, for those for are not searching for such high performance of the T5, a cheaper Lite version will be great.

The decision for me was a no brainer....NONE OF THEM.
Yup, they didn't include the Notification LED.

Four water-proof phones you'll want right now
Lots of people tells you electronics and water cannot mix. If you work outdoors, tired of being afraid of having something spilt on your precious phone; or you just want to Tweet while you shower. Whatever the reason, an IP67/IP68 rating smartphone should be at the top of your shopping list. The following are 4 waterproof smartphones I would recommend.
iPhone7/7 Plus
Although iPhone7/7 Plus almost looks like the same as iPhone6s/6s Plus except for adding two new colors and redesigning back antenna, there are still some new impressing features. Aside from iPhone 7 Plus coming with dual rear cameras for the first time, what appeals to me is that iPhone7/7 Plus finally come with IP67 rating water and dust resistant which allow for briefly dunking in the water. Besides, iPhone7/7 Plus come with the most powerful specs especially the A10 processor that is almost twice as fast as iPhone6s/6s Plus. It is safe to say iPhone7/7 Plus is one the best smartphones in the world. When you are looking for a smartphone with water and dust resistance, taking iPhone7/7 Plus into account is reasonable.
Galaxy S7 Edge
Samsung made Galaxy S5 feature IP67 2 years ago, and now Galaxy S7 Edge is also IP68 dust and water proof (30 minutes in water over 1.5 m deep). As the best android smartphone after Galaxy note 7 suffered its disastrous failure, not only is Galaxy S7 Edge equipped with high-end specs but also has the gorgeous appearance with the edge to edge AMOLED display and a metal body, but also the performance of its cameras is very likely to be the best of all the smartphones including iPhone7/7 Plus. Galaxy S7 Edge definitely deserves being considered by everyone who is into Android phones.
Sony Xperia XZ
Sony Xperia XZ as the latest addition to their flagship X family features the general rectangular slab-like design, with glass up front, an all metal back plate, and of course, an IP68 rating for resistance to dust and water. In terms of specs, Xperia XZ comes with a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB of on-board storage, 23 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras, bears 2,900*mAh battery which is good enough for a full day of use. This device is priced at $699 which is in the same price range as Galaxy Note 7, I would say the price is a bit high, but if you want a high-end smartphone with IP68 rating and you don’t like Galaxy S7 Edge, then you can’t ignore Sony Xperia XZ.
Nomu S20
After introducing 3 high-end flagships, now I am going to recommend a budget rugged phone named Nomu S20 which comes with a 5-inch HD display, 8MP rear and 5MP front cameras. Under the hood, this phone comes with MediaTek quad-core 4G LTE processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM and is packed with 3000*mA battery along with a fast charging feature. Nomu S20 has IP68 rating just like Galaxy S7 Edge, but unlike those three above, Nomu S20 is a professional rugged phone. It is able to survive a drop from 1.5 meter height, which those high-end flagships are too fragile to survive. Also, -20℃ to 55℃ working temperature range allows you to use it in most of the places you can imagine. You can feel free to use this handset without worrying in the most unexpected conditions. What’s more, $169.99 price point make it the most affordable waterproof smartphone. If you do not have hundreds of dollar to spend, maybe Nomu S20 is a good choice for you.

Nomu S20/Xperia XZ/Galaxy S7/iPhone 7 comparison:
http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/comparison/e71d9cf7c
The Nomu S10 and S30 both have 5000mAh batteries.
You forgot the Cat S60 with the FLIR camera....FLIR camera, now how cool is that!
It also is a true IP68, it can go down to 15 Ft for 30 minutes, that is a true IP68 rating, not this 3 feet for 30 min that Nonu and Samsung have.....iPhone and Xperia only take a splash, not a dunk, the'e IP67.
http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/75203bc3
If you do anything outdoors that relies on GPS, with the screen ON, and listening to music, the bigger the battery the better....for me.
My criteria:
5.5" / 720p / Backlit keys / Notification LED / 4000mAh min / Quad 64bit 2000MHz min OR Octo 64bit 1500MHz min / 2GB RAM DDR3 min / 16GB ROM min / 64GB SDHC/XC / IP68 / Mil STD-810G OR Ruggedized / GPS / Gyro/ Compass / Proximity / Accelerometer / SIM2 3G / Lollipop or lower, I want R00T capability.
Its not that far of a dream the phone I want, the Nomu S30 had it all and then they left out the Notification LED....A phone with some amazing specs and NO Notification LED.....WTF.....
http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/b0e73f1b
I will give up 4G, or backlit keys....I won't compramise on the Notification LED.
Well, you mentioned your innermost need of the notification led twice already. I do not need it but please follow your ideal phone.
Please also give us a ballpark price range of the CAT phone when you have a chance. What is it? Like FOUR times the Nomu's price?

3X The $$ and 4X the phone. 15 feet deep for ½ Hour!
> FLIR camera .... Fun stuff! I can think of all sorts of places to use it and annoy my girlfriend at the same time.
> MIL-STD-810G
What's annoying about the CAT S60, and prevented me doing the purchase is ...
#1) Battery, Nomu/3800mAh - CAT/3000mAh
#2) Smaller screen, Nomu/5"(on screen keys) - CAT/4.7"
CAT S60 is a solid, robust phone that is weak in the battery department and a step back for me as I have a 5" phone and want to go to a 5.5" phone.
The Nomu S30 was almost perfect, then they missed the Notification LED, what a letdown......
Kinda like, meeting the perfect girl, then she opens her mouth and sounds like Fran Drescher.
so much talking about nice phones from Nomu but you claim to have bought HT20 with the smallest screen. just for Notification light.
HT20 claims 3850 battery and you admit yourself it below 3000.
Moreover Ht20 has serious mic problems and hence waterproof problems if one uses Homtom cure for mic..
BTW you are mistaken Nomu S20 does not have 3800 battery . it is 3000 mAh.
Personally I do not like LED light at night. I do not care for NL. I like t check myself than be bothered by the light

How Long Can 1% Battery of UHANS H5000 Last?
It really drives people crazy when he/she need to use his/her phone for emergency, only to find out that there’s only 1% battery left. This is because many smartphones cannot last very long with only 1% battery. UHANS H5000 seems to hang on 1% for about an hour.
No kidding. The 1% battery of UHANS H5000 has been tested for the time it can last. It is a very big surprise that the phone has done such a great job of power consumption. You can watch the video below.
The UHANS H5000 was said to carry 5000mAh battery capacity. Now considering the weight, thickness of the phone and the power consumption, the company has changed it to 4500mAh. It still packs with MediaTek MT6737, 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM, 5MP front camera and 8MP rear camera.
A great campaign allowing users to buy UHANS devices is up on the company's website: http://bit.ly/2ehIEhG

UHANS H5000 vs Samsung Galaxy S7: Battery Test
The battery of UHANS H5000 is 4500 mAh, which allows users to do a lot of what they wanna do. From the previous battery test video, we know that UHANS H5000 has very great power consumption. How is it compared to other devices?
For this comparison, Samsung Galaxy S7 was picked to be the competitor. Both phones have been fully charged and put them into the same gaming test for half an hour. Though the battery capacities are not the same, we can still see the different consumption between UHANS H5000 and Samsung Galaxy S7.
It seems that the battery of H5000 is quite a highlight. You can expect to have it in hand and test it. By the way, there will be a special campaign for the Double-Eleventh Day. You can stay tuned by following this thread.
UHANS H5000 Survived from Dropping Tests
We can hardly say that UHANS H5000 is a phone with any particular shinny spots, but it is decent and budget-friendly. Well, specs are not everything, because if you look further, you can find that UHANS H5000 is actually a very tough buddy.
To prove it, UHANS did some regular dropping tests with pocket height and hand-hold height. The H5000 has been tortured for several times under the protection of a protective case. Nonetheless, it still works very fine.

You right. There were some issues with that user (together with an XDA moderator) so he is completely ignored by me (also added to my Ignore List on XDA, thankfully this option is available) and i won't touch his threads anymore. (even though some of his posts/threads are against XDA rules)
You are free to follow the thread you prefer, this is officially followed by UHANS too.

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
* Package
AGM X1 is delivered for us in premium design package.
Box is in structured black which in light goes into sliver shimmer glow. It has a eminent look enhanced by sliver and gold logo of AGM manufacturer. From the very first look you come across high quality design.
Inside the box.
Separately packed: users manual, original orange USB cable, headphones with backup silicon pads, 2A black charger, screen protector.
* Unit Design
You can get it in 2 nice colors: black, and blue.
I have received a black version of AGM X1.
Back cover is made of poly-carbon rectangular patterned matte black plastic. Matte finish is not completely irresistible to light smudges from natural finger oils. But it is easy to keep clean and pleasant to touch and hold.
On the back from the upper side you can see dual 13 MP camera alongside with double LED light for difficult light conditions. Cameras are protected by messing like metal which gives it refined look. There is a small opening for back mic.
Below you receive a logo of AGM in silver metal like structure. Back is enforced with metal silver look 10 screws to ensure the IP68 certificate. It has a non removable battery.
Then you have masked loudspeaker whereas both plates with logo enable to maintain good quality of sound when your smart AGM X1 is lying on the back.
Front side of AGM X1 is 5.5 Amoled Samsung display with Gorilla Glass 3. Under thes display there are 2 control buttons which are not back-lite and middle fingerprint scanner which as serves as third control button. Upper and down side of the phone are reinforced by pleasing brown dotted plastic insert which protect the display when placing on the screen side and probably enhance against breaking when falling out of hand. I would rather have complete edge-to edge display construction, but it is only my esthetic.
Above there is a chamber for the system loudspeaker, notification light, LED light for the front camera
AGM X1 has a traditional controls layout. On the left side there are VOL + and VOL- rockers, on the right side a tray for MICRO and NANO SIM card, from which the latter can serve as SD card holder. You do not need any needle to open the tray, you can comfortably pull it out with your hand. That is very practical.
Both tray and rockers are of premium quality materials. Rockers additional are rectangulary polished to silver colors which match the frame surrounding the screen.
Upper side of the X1 is sleek clean.
On the lower side of X1 there is a enclosure behind which you can find usual USB charger slot and traditional 3.5 mm audio jack
AGM X1:163.5x79x11.8mm. X1 is a rugged smartphone with max height of 11.8 mm and 9 mm edges. It weights 210 g which is only 40g heavier than business phone and 50g lighter than other rugged phones. In short the AGM X1 is a rugged smartphone that, unlike most rugged phones, features a sleek and beautiful design.
Holding the IP68 rating this Chinese smartphone is fully resistant against water, dust, and shocks it features a business like design, making this rugged phone perfect to be used during outdoor activities and formal occasion alike.
AGM X1 is designed to help you attend a business meeting or head out into the wild – the AGM X1 smartphone will follow you anywhere in style.
DISPLAY
5.5'' Super AMOLED
AGM X1 is equipped with 5.5 FHD Super AMOLED display of Samsung. Most Chinese manufacturers use JDI or SHARP displays.
According to AGM display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and there is a screen protector included in the package.
The unit I have in hand is 480 dpi so there should be no struggle to see details on the screen clearly even during daylight.
Minimum setting are to low to use as operational, around 50% is good enough to use for most tasks.
Viewing Angles are as good as i would have expected from a FHD SUPER Amoled of Samsung display.
Amoled displays have vivid colors withe tendency to green.
PERFORMANCE & STORAGE
Overall performance is high considering the Snapdragon 617 1.5 GHz
and 4GB RAM & it is self-evident on the AnTuTu Benchmark of 45717 which I do for the fun of benchmark fans but which is not to be relied on very much.
AdroBench eMMC performance is above good especially in regard to Reading Speed of above 260 MB/s. For everyday tasks even Write Speed of above 5 MB/s is high enough considering everyday demands.

Phone Comparisons: Nokia 6 vs AGM X1
Highlight: Snapdragon 617 used in AGM X1 is much better than Snapdragon 430 in Nokia 6, with IP68 rating, dual camera and bigger battery, AGM X1 is a better device.
After HMD Global has taken over Nokia phone business, the company announced that its first Nokia-android smartphone the Nokia 6 will be released in Feb but that is only available for sale in China.
Today let’s take a quick look at how the performance of this phone is compared with a budget handset AGM X1 which is released recently as well.
They do have few things in common—starting with the fact that they both have 4GB ram and 64GB internal storage, and use a 5.5’’ Full HD display with 1080P resolution, Nokia 6 adopts LCD technology and AGM X1 comes with a Super AMOLED display, besides, I mainly list 4 differences between them.
1, Design
AGM X1:163.5x79x11.8mm, IP68 certification
Nokia 6 : 154x75.8x7.85mm,
Nokia 6 adopts metallic body design, it’s a bit thinner than AGM X1, and it brings metal texture to your hands, AGM X1 features IP68 certification which protects it from water and dust and allows for surviving in many rough environments.
2, Hardware
AGM X1: Qualcomm Snapdragon 617, OCTA-core 1.5GHz,4GB ram
Nokia 6 : Qualcomm Snapdragon 430, octa-core 1.4GHz,4GB ram
Both processors have been generally used in many mid-range smartphones, compared with 430, 617 has gained comprehensive improvement in terms of connectivity and performance, 617 processor is also more power efficient than 430.
3, Camera
AGM X1: 13MP rear dual camera, 5MP front camera
Nokia 6 : 16MP rear camera, 8MP front camera
The cameras of Nokia 6 appeal to be better than that of AGM X1 when it comes to pixels, and they both use Sony sensors, but AGM X1 has dual lens camera which can bring images better effects and offers wilder angle for shooting group and landscape, given that dual camera setup is the trend in the field of smartphone, Nokia 6 is sort of left behind.
4. Battery
AGM X1: 5400mAh
Nokia 6 : 3000mAh
The AGM X1 handset has the much bigger capacity of our pair, that 5400mAh is claimed to last “3 days”, I think it’s safe to say the battery can provide up to 2 days of use without charging.
The capacity of battery of Nokia 6 is almost half smaller than that of AGM X1, but bigger than that of lots of handsets, it still can last a full day of use.
5,Price
AGM X1: $299.99
Nokia 6 : around $245
AGM X1 retails for $299.99, Nokia 6 reportedly will start at around $245 in China, for what is worth, if you want to buy Nokia 6 outside China, you might need to bear its extra expense including international shipping and tariff, which will make this phone a little more expensive than AGM X1.
In short
Nokia 6 has higher resolution cameras and metal body, AGM X1 is better in more aspects such as processor, battery, IP68 rating and dual camera, the Nokia 6 undercuts the AGM X1 on price but only if you are in China.

The model is going to be named Oukitel U16 Max and will be powered by an unknown octa-core processor and Android 7.0 Nougat as the OS.
But back to the display, it will have HD resolution with 5-point multitouch and being manufactured by Japan Display Inc. (JDI) should guarantee some level of quality. The screen will adopt LTPS technology and feature 2.5D polishing. So in short the display should be pretty good and with such big screen it’s one of the most important things to see.
Oukitel officials expect that U16 Max could make an appearance in exclusive Aliexpress presale event in March as a part of the Aliexpress Anniversary celebration. It should be available with some pretty hefty discount and probably some extra bonuses on top
Oukitel U16 Max. There are not many details leaked now. As of now we know, the new Oukitel U16 Max is going to have a 6.0-inch display Android 7.0 Nougat OS and an Octa-core processor.
It’s not going to be a dual camera device so we have to settle for 13 Mpix rear camera with Micron AR1335 sensor and 5 Mpix front camera with OV GC5005 sensor. No software interpolation for either of them so a small plus for that. It’s worth noting that the camera lens doesn’t have the plain black paint, but micron-grade double axis lines printed using the latest LightScribe technology.
The fingerprint scanner will be on the back of the device and will have some customizable options including audio or video playback control, taking calls or launching a specified app directly.
The rear camera on the Oukitel U16 Max will be 13MP and is listed as a Micron AR1335. The front-facing camera is a 5MP sensor in the OV CG5005 which is also a “straight” shooter with no interpolation. The company also mentioned LightScribe tech on the rear lens as well. While we knew it would have a fingerprint scanner that detail has been confirmed along with an aluminium metal shell with CNC milling.

As OUKITEL announced the full specs during MWC which was held last week, they are now releasing more details about the U16 Max. Here we have got the first hands on video for this 6 inches smartphone.
As we already knew, the OUKITEL U16 Max features a big screen with 6 inch 720p display which is 2.5D curved and processed with LTPS tech. While the battery cover applies aircraft aluminum alloy. The middle frame is also metal with complicated CNC craft to make it slimmer as well as comfortable to touch.
This video shows some features of Android Nougat (7.0) as well as customized features for more a interesting user experience.
Since the screen is big, the one hand mode and one hand float view will be appreciated as it offers some daily functions like screenshot, scanner, lock screen, screen record, gesture unlock and recent apps etc. It also offers dual desktop for choose, one with app drawer, one with all apps on main screen.
It also offers several kinds of unlock way, like fingerprint with password, fingerprint with pin, fingerprint with patterns, etc. The fingerprint is quite fast to unlock device, it also add other functions like use fingerprint to capture photo, to answer phone call, to play music etc. The Camera should be a 13MP made by Micron (AR1337 i guess) with no interpolation.
OUKITEL U16 Max gets the final product video
As we already know, the U16 Max features a 6 inch HD JDI display with 2.5D curved screen and 3D arc designed battery cover. This is offering high permeability and bright vibrant screen. However, how long could such a big displayed smartphone last for daily usage?
The U16 Max carries the MediaTek MT6753 Octa-core chipset with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM, and runs the Android 7.0 OS. Considering the hardware and software power consumption, will the 4000mAh battery provide enough power? The answer is YES.
Using SCUD battery with high density tech. this leads to a super thin 9.15mm body compared to other large battery smartphones. Theoretically, the 4000mAh battery of U16 Max is able to support:
Standby: 320hours (13days & 8hours) in lowest power consumption state.
2G talk: 25hours( in black screen)
MP3 music: 36 hours (speaker mode in black screen, highest volume)
FHD Video: 6.5hours (brightest screen state and highest volume)
Surf Internet: 6.5hours (mobile data mode, brightest screen state)

All the above data are theoretical; may differ according to local network and mobile phone state.
This U16 Max will start the Global First Launch from March 28th, and it is said to have the lowest price available between all devices featuring similar specs. OUKITEL will also start delivery at the same time when the first launch starts. More information will be launched on OUKITEL's official FB page.
Already got Oukitel U16 Max, i will make unboxing video soon
Introduction
This is the OUKITEL U16 Max.
Hardware
This device is powered by a Mediatek MT6753 SOC clocked at 1.3GHz, the old CPU from Mediatek that seems to be still used by many manufacturers. It features 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM, together with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. No Camera Interpolation is here, a great move from OUKITEL!
Unboxing
Packaging comes with basic accessories: 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/1.5A USB Charger, 1x Quick Start Guide, 1x Warranty Certificate, 1x TPU Cover and the Smartphone (of course). A screen protector is already applied, but i recommend you to replace it. (low quality)
Just like most devices from OUKITEL, also this one has Metal Chassis that seems to be pretty well-built, and unlike previous models, this one features a nice design for the 3.5mm and USB ports, protecting the plug from any scratch.
It is 16.6x8.33x0.95cm, something expected considering the huge 6 inches screen. It weights 226g, again something expected.
On the front side there is the standard (well nowadays almost all devices have it) 2.5D Curved Display and the upper front side of the device features a Front-Facing Camera, an Earpiece, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. A Notification LED is here, and seems to be RGB.
Here you can see the brightness of the Notification LED, one of the brightest i have ever found on a smartphone.
On the lower front side there is the soft-touch keys zone, with Recents, Home and Back buttons.
On the back side there is the Metal Back Cover (non-removable), with Plastic Bands on the upper and lower sides.
The upper rear side of the device features the Camera Sensor supported by a Dual-LED - Single-Tone Flashlight, and the fingerprint scanner.
On the lower rear side there isn't anything at all because the Speaker is positioned on the lower side of the device.
Device
Screen
Somehow OUKITEL choose to use an HD-only screen on this device, i do not like this choice due to the disappoiting pixel density and overall screen sharpness.
Light Sensor supports smooth light changes, this is its maximum brightness.
Viewing Angles are not the best compared to other devices i reviewed.
Camera
Similar to previous OUKITEL devices, also this one uses an OnSemi AR1335 13MP Rear Camera sensor that seems to provide a nice overall image quality. Something that i like about the implementation on this device is the absence of any kind of interpolation. The level of noise is a bit too high though.
"HDR off" on the left and "HDR on" on the right.
On Medium Light conditions the camera struggles to keep the noise level low.
Even though there is a Dual-LED Flashlight, it isn't as bright as you would expect.
As regards Video Recording, 1080p30 videos are recorded with a decent level of details, just remember that there is no OIS so you can’t expect stable videos.
The Front Camera is a standard GalaxyCore GC5005 (5MP), with Wide-Angle.
Audio
Speaker Quality is average, with almost inexistent low-frequencies but with an high level of volume.
As regards the Microphone, it is decent, maybe not the best i have ever tried on a smartphone, but still acceptable. In-Call Quality is decent too, nothing to complain about.
GPS
GPS Quality is way better than most newer MT6737 devices i have reviewed, confirming that this MT6753 has one of the best GPS Chipsets you can find on a Mediatek device.
Indoors on the left, outdoors on the right.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
OUKITEL provides full european bands support, with 4G Band 20 (some other Chinese Smartphones don’t have it). My 4G connection was working just fine, with decent speed and pretty stable signal.
WiFi 5GHz is supported here. Connected at 81mbps, i was able to reach ~38mbps, not the best WiFi speed considering that i was connected to my 5GHz Connection.
Battery Life
I have measured the real battery capacity using my USB Tester, and it seems that the real battery capacity is much higher than the declared one. (declared 4000mAh, real ~4450mAh).
This is the PCMark Battery Test. Minimum Brightness, WiFi On, SIM Card Inserted and Active.
As regards battery charging times, the 5V/1.5A charger isn't enough to charge the device in less than 3 hours, so do not expect any Quick Charge here.
Software
Thankfully OUKITEL continues to use a clean Android OS release for their devices (excluding the U15s, a whole different negative story). There isn't just a clean OS, but there is Android 7.0 Nougat! The first device released by OUKITEL with Android 7.0 pre-installed. It works great, it is smooth and doesn't have any app that can't be disabled or might interfere with daily usage.
Standard Mediatek Features such as Gestures, Tap-to-Wake, etc... are still here. MiraVision is missing.
There is no Gyroscope or Magnetometer, just like all on all OUKITEL devices.
Thankfully there are no Malware pre-installed on this device, scanned using Malware-Bytes Anti-Malware.
As regards the Fingerprint Scanner management, this device has the best Fingerprint Scanner i have ever tried, even better than my daily LeEco Le 2. Well Done OUKITEL!
Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 4, GFXBench, PCMark (Work 2.0, Computer Vision, Storage & Work 1.0) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – GPU Performance isn't superb, neither you can expect better results with this GPU.
AndroBench – eMMC Performance is sufficient, Write Speed lower than average.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – As you can see, 3D performance is mediocre.
GeekBench – CPU Performance is nearly as good as other CPUs with the same configuration (8x Cortex-A53), enough to handle almost every type of activity.
CPU
Compute
GFXBench – The same GPU lack of power is noticeable here.
PCMark – Standard MT6753 performance here.
Work 2.0
Computer Vision
Storage
Work 1.0
Vellamo – Impressive Android Webview Performance, but everything else is just like other MT6753 devices.
Conclusions
Being the first phablet from OUKITEL it seems that they are on the right way to produce a real competitor that can beat other devices in the same price range. The device isn't perfect, the lack of power is noticeable but at least OUKITEL managed to provide a clean, and smooth, Android 7.0 Nougat experience.
So, do I recommend it? Well, it depends on your requirements. If you are in search of a gaming device, this isn't for you, but if you are in search of a multimedia device, with ultra-light gaming, then this might be a good choice.
Pros:
Good Build Quality
Impressive Fingerprint Sensor
Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box
RGB Notification LED
Huge Battery Capacity
Cons:
Low Screen Resolution for a 6 inches device
Speaker Quality could have been better
No Magnetometer/Gyroscope Support
Still running on the outdated MT6753

Just got this phone delivered yesterday and I'm currently in the setup stage. Initial impression is that it's a monster of a phone for it's price (bought it from Aliexpress for just over 103€).
One thing I noticed:
I know that it's sometimes just a number that they set in the specs but I can confirm that my 128gb Samsung Evo is recognized and seems to be working in this phone even though the specs say up to 32gb.
I ordered mine on the 30th. How long did it take to get yours my tracking just updated today.
