Custom rom + sony interface

Hello guys, I'm thinking about installing a ROM based on different kernel (cm etc.), to upgrade my super xperia S to newer android. But I hate nexus style. I love sony's one. Any ideas a about good composition? Rom which looks like sony interface, and with Sony apps? Appreciate it!

Try any rom with honami style and unlock your bootloader then install any kernel
you can install media apps for sony Z2 on CM11 but you cannot use all walkman features

You can try different ROM and use these themes to get the Sony UI look:

You can also install ported apps of Sony, most of them work. I'm on Carbon ROM and I have the ported apps such as Wlakman, Album which work very good.

Camera library and sony framework are the most important things that can't been imported.
There are only Themes and apps that feels SONY!

I meant camera and video quality in non-Stock ROMs is not as good as Stock[-Based] ROMs.

Oh! Sorry, I can't get Z2 conversation apk to work. I use Hangout and herw a Screenshot of stock 4.4.2 messaging app.

Android L Xperia Z/ZL/Z1/Z2

Hey Guys
I've been searching ways to get Android L in my Xperia ZL but no Luck :crying:
But I've found another way to get Android L Look or Feel in xperia Devices
I've changed it' Keyboard, Theme,Boot Animation
I've uploaded a tutorial video but XDA won't let me put link
Search for - Good Guy Dhruv
or Android L In Sony Z/ZLZ1/Z2

The closest will get is via CM11 theme chooser and a little bit of xposed modules will have to suffice for now. See my ZL screen shot below.

You need unlocked BL to do it.

[APK]Z3 Launcher Concept

Ported for my ROM,but decided to share.
DEODEXED,so remove any odex files and push to system/app/home
Tested on Z Ultra 5.1 Gpe based rom

Is it OK or something is wrong
Using T2 Ultra dual running 5.0.2

I can confirm that is working on Xperia Z3 D6653 on 5.1.1.

It's from AOSP based concept, mean this ROM doesn't have Sony framework, so no themes in this launcher.

Well, there is no source code, so all the modifications should be done in smali code, which is complicated.

Where is the option to rotate and reduce icons?

Because we on LP ha e in system/app a folder called Home Release and there inside HomeRelease.apk

You can put home.apk to folder Home Realease. Then delete home Realease.apk. Reboot

[Mod]Music 9.3.3.A.1.0 to Walkman Mod

Hi Xperian, Since the Walkman App become Music. I Started using Xposed Module of Nahael Azaway of Music to Walkman. But only Xposed User can use it. So i Modify the latest Walkman App 9.3.3.A.1.0.
This is Just a Simple Mod, that i change the app label together with app icon and notification icon to bring back the Legendary Walkman to our Beloved Xperia. I also Change the Landing pane on Home since i dont want the current png on that.
-- Would work on Non-rooted 4.4 kk and Above. --

The Icon was provided by fellow xda member months ago and the rest is done by adavnced apktool by Bdfreak. If you have doubt then it is yours. It just simple replace name and replace drawable on my mod

Oh, Im sorry i dont see that but honestly my resources comes from the icon pack uploaded months ago and i also edited the landing pane if you can notice. But you can report it. Its not a problem since android is open source and i dont use your work. Its just we are the same only difference is landing pane. Also i know how to change app name by android manifest.xml with android:label="string/app-name" if that was the name you should go to res/values/string.xml and locate it. Sorry no offense also. It just i know the rule that you cannot use other work its just i dont know that someone already do what is my mod also

In order to remove red beta build text, you have to delete line 14 from music.xml, located in res/layout and res/layout-v21 folders

Sony XZ3 Live Wallpapers [7.0+] [Root/Non Root]

Hello Everyone,
I have updated the XZ3 Live Wallpapers so it can be used on snapdragon chipset Sony phones running 7.0 as well. I have tested it on my Xperia Z5 running 7.1.1.
Just install as a normal apk. Enjoy! Please let me know if anyone has any kind of issues.
1. You might get a theme element incompatibility error. Just swipe away the error message. This should not affect the functionality of the theme.
2. These themes might not work on devices with Mediatek chipsets due to difference in libraries.

That's weird because I use the same mrom but 2.9.5 on my Z5. I don't see that message.
Does the theme actually have any incompatibility issues when you apply it?
Can you swipe away that message or does it stay on the notification area permanently?
I have root and superuser mod in my phone. So I don't know if it has to do with everyone else not having it.
I will change the title slightly if someone can confirm after testing it on a rooted device.

They all have the black background and the colour of the animated gooey liquid changes. That's how the theme is.

Maybe is a problem with my rom, because is the version with aroma in Chinese and bloatware. I test with 2.8.9 version

I wanted to release the updated mrom version 2.9.5 for other Z5 devices but I'm not finding time to do so. I'll try releasing them in the appropriate forums.
Do you have any issues with the theme as such based on the message?

Yeah thanks, I want make the mod, but I don't know how to do :silly:
Well just the message and I can swipe it, everything else is normal and my device is rooted with magisk maybe is issue too.

What exactly is the error that you get? Do you get past the installation stage?
Can you try the attached file and revert back if it works.

I am able to install
Also getting new theme installed notification
But as soon as I go ahead and apply it shows app stopped working.

I belive it has something to do with the chipset that you have on your phone which is a bit different than all the other models that sony generally has. Thats the only thing I can think of. The apks for your chipset model might have slightly different libraries.

I m using existenz rom 6.0 xperia x.. Everything works so well..

ya mediatek sucks

I installed, but no background, only black screen. Xperia L1, 7.0 stock. I guess my phone sucks...

Fogetaboutit... It won't look nice unless you have a 18:9 screen

Again unfortunately even Xperia L1 has a mediatek chipset. So I believe it might be due to that.
