Does the Z play not support 60. FPS recording in 1080p resolution?
Has anyone tried? Any other app than stock supports the 60fps recording?

Did you try in stock camera app?
Apart from that there is Footez camera, FV Cinema, and there is one advanced Moto camera app available on play store which needs to be downloaded separately.
If you can then please try and update.

tried moto camera app, the google camera port and another one. all either didnt list it or said frame rate not available
So no 1080p @ 60fps.
Anyone has any idea if there is possibility of some workaround?
It'll never happen. It's a drive issue.. Motorola would have to be the one to implement it.

You should contact sultanxda — he created a ROM for the OnePlus One that added many video functions, including higher FPS. Maybe he can explain how he did it.

Well never say never if rooted you can pull the camera driver lib from /system/vendor/lib/ libmmcamera_imx if Sony sensor libmmcamera_ov if omnivision libmmcamera_s*** if Samsung sensor

Yup there correct I've checked it out the lib is outputting 1080p @ 120fps so one could just capture 1080p at 120fps then drop frames in post for 60fps.
The other possible is to set capture rate and fps to 60 That should work could you download freedcam from play store in the menu scroll down to the bottom and choose save camera parameters it should output a text file to DCIM/FreeDcam/ attach that here or send it via telegram to @defcomk .
If the above options don't work the sensor can be under clocked to just 60fps

Seems its artificially limited somewhere the driver says the ISP is getting 1920x1080 @ 120fps | but the parameters say 1280x720 @ 120 I need an additional file found in /system/lib/hw/ named camera.msm89**.so

Using root Explorer / Solid Explorer Copy camera.msm8953.so to /system/lib/hw/ and set rw-r-r permission reboot then resave Camera Parameters.
Attach the parameters.
Then copy libmmcamera_ov16860.so to system/vendor/lib/ set rw-r-r permission then reboot and save camera parameters

Second parameters look Good 60fps is now supported in freedcam tap on Mode select and select movie then in the menu select 1080pHFR in video profile if 1080pHFR not in the list clear freedcam app cache

I just received a Samsung Galaxy Camera. It's got a super camera app which actually USE the quad core processor. People on G+ have been asking me to post the apks. The device has an Exynos4412 processor so it's likely the GS3 will be the most compatible device with the Camera app. I'd like to see if they work on other devices or if they're locked to the Galaxy Camera.
So, I pulled some apps from my GCam and I figured I'd drop them off here. This zip includes:

Two apps installed normally. They were the video editor and the other one called "velvet" (Google search). Video editor wouldn't open, but the Google search worked normally. I didn't try to install paper artist because it is already working on jellybean for us, so I thought it would be a bit of a waste.
I an also running a deodexed rom, so I had no idea what to do with the odex files to be perfectly honest.

The odex files just get stuffed in the /system/app folder with the rest of the system apps. The odex files just make the device start faster but they are required to be installed in /system/app for the app to work properly.

The camera will not run nor install (not even by manually moving to system and setting correct permissions on it and the odex)

I tried to install samsung camera app on my S3 but it did not do anything.
I added this apk file in system/app folder and changed permission and rebooted. But I could not find it in my apps.
BTW I was running SuperNexus rom, not sure if it has anything to do with it.

Instruction:

2) Flash VideoEditor zip file in recovery. Reboot & wait 15-20minutes before run this apps. Why? See below
Bug
1) No issue found on PhotoRetouching
2) VideoEditor doesn't work when media scan is running in the background. Media scan will run in the background for the first 15-20minutes everytime after phone reboot. So wait until media scan stop or you can install something (can't recall) to kill media scan.

Any chance we could get Galaxy Camera apk working?
So, guys, I was looking at Play Store and found that SociaLife is there. I was able to download it and install on the leaked FW from Sony. The app opens, and say it is getting some data. Then, for some reason, it says there's an unknown mistake and the app closes.

Doesn't seem so, because while it was showing the Loading Info thing, it was showing in the backgroud the app, and it was with the Phone layout, just like the Xperia Z review from GSMArena. Sadly I can't go past that. I'm not sure if it is because I'm from Brazil. I need someone from Europe (Nordic, if possible), to test for us.

It isn't for them only. Z is getting it. the main problem would be setting up the app. And if it were for Tabs only, why I can download it and it opens with Phone layout? It is a server problem.

No. It's for Xperia phones with jelly bean. I extracted the APK from a Xperia Z and installed it on my Ion but failed. Tried installing on a V with jelly bean and it worked.

As I said, I installed on leaked S ROM, so that must be the reason to be installed.

@TS Change build.prop your model number to C6603. Whenever you see LT26i change it.
Someone succeed ,he said "Change the ro.product.model=LT25I to ro.product.model=C6603".
I suggest u make a try

Maybe you can't post because you are missing some of the various socialife.apk (its not only one) in the system/apps/ according to my friend who has an Xperia Z.
Is there any other lib, framework,permission file required also?
Installed it on my x10.
Its working, accepted all my accounts but after refreshing there is nothing on my feed.
Not even a single post in 3 account.
Any other file dependency?

Touchwiz 4.2.2 ROM supports multi users. You just need to follow the instructions here:

adding fw.max_users=8 to build.prop makes it permanent, otherwise you need to run the setprop each time you reboot.

Cool thanks. Has anyone actually tried this though? I tried it on my Cm 10.1 Samsung S3 and it didn't actually work. You can add the users, but the lock screen doesn't give you a way to select them.

It looks like the pm command is not working properly. What happens if you do a pm without any arguments? It should give you the pm help page.
If it still gives you an error try fixing permissions in recovery and see if that helps.

It looks like the pm command is not working properly. What happens if you do a pm without any arguments? It should give you the pm help page.
If it still gives you an error try fixing permissions in recovery and see if that helps.

Do pm list users and pm get-max-users work ok?
It may just be that the tab 2 can't support user profiles, but I would have though you should still be able to set them up, even if the rom doesn't give you the ability to switch between them.

Worked for me but I couldn't tell if this sets up a whole new user folder like in windows, in turn eating the limited 16gb we have. I want to reinstall a bunch of apps I already have for my kids but I don't want them taking up double the disk space. Can anyone expand on this? Damn you Google for taking away app2sd

Yes, it sets up a whole new user folder, and eats up some space, but apps istalled for multiple users do not take up double the disk space. The application data is only downloaded once, but the user data takes up space for each user.
/data/app is shared between users. (where the application is)
/data/media/obb is shared between users. (where the extra application resources are for games, etc)
The only problem is if apps download extra data to /data/media/0 (primary account), or data/media/10, etc.. (secondary accounts). It would be worth watching out for those and avoiding them, but it will not happen with well behaved apps.

Active display shows config but don't work... maybe im missing some apk or permission...
There's a official moto x active display app on the playstore if there is a way you can get that it may be of some help

All apps are more than some apks, and REALLY i dont recomend install touchless control, because do a permanent FC that dont let use the device because someone is missing, if you have time and know how use the logcat you can find the error and send me :fingers-crossed:

the first thing that i have made when my phone at home were of install audiomonitor .apk with the hope to find a solution to work
i believe that logcat require root, i have't yet for the warranty ..
Is it possible to get all apk in deodex form?
I don't think touchless control and active display will ever work. They both rely on the x8 chipset..

I pulled the file TargetedNotifications.apk out of the zip file and just used "adb install TargetedNotifications.apk" on my phone rebooted and i have Moto Connect options on my phone (Unrooted, Locked), Its under Settings and you see "Moto Connect"
How i back to stock?? how i remove moto connect?
Can Op please specify which files are associated with active. Display?

It seems that Motorola connect cannot communicate with the Chrome extension.
It is activated in the settings but the Chrome extension doesn't find the phone.
EDIT: that works now. It took several tries to connect to the phone. But It cannot retrieve messages and contacts. Was somebody able to use it completely?

The one I used was the second one - I just put in in system/app with a root browser and changed the permissions to rw-r-r and rebooted and magic happened!
