Tapatalk Restarting After Being Minimized (Memory management) - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

Just curious,
Is there anyway to keep Tapatalk in persistent memory so it doesn't completely close and reopen when I hit the icon instead of accessing it through recents? Not a huge deal, just annoying on occasion when I forget to go to recents and hit the icon instead

If I'm not mistaken, go to.... Settings > Battery > Battery settings > Battery Optimization, view all apps from drop down, find Tapatalk and change it to Don't optimize.
Let me know if that works!

Nexus 6 came with some stuff also. Some for Verizon and some from sprint. If you can not delete it you may have to wait for root to delete it from system.

What's weird is we got Google purchase devices getting Verizon apps pre installed and Verizon purchased ones like mine that never got Verizon apps installed until I finally installed a couple that I use....

Pixel density. It's a somewhat common option in many roms, but can mess with the phone being recognized by the play store.

I've read about that problem. Have you tried resetting your app data by going Settings -> Apps -> Google Play -> Delete app data (or something like that) ?

Allshare background data usage

Anyone else seeing high background wifi data use by allshare service? I have had my att note 2 for less than a week and it shows 666 mb of data. I have noticed a couple times where this service is killing my battery untill i force close it. I tried to disable in app settings but it wouldnt let me. I have never actually used this service for anything.

If you are willing to root your device you will be able to dosable this app or uninstall it. The reason you cannot disable it is they have balled their bloatware into the system apps. Those are the ones you cannot disable it in settings and apps.
You can use tibu or any other means to uninstall it
Ya figured I could if I rooted, but not doing that until I'm for sure keeping the phone. Only one week into owning and haven't decided 100% yet.

in that case you may want to just try a good ol fashioned battery pull and disable background data and processes in the settings menu.
Thanks for the advice but actually already done both. The data has only gone up by about 10mb since yesterday though. It's not a big deal just trying to figure out why that much data is being transfered for a service I have never used.

have you tried disabling allowing the phone to use your location for informatioon gathering, stuff like that will also affect background processes.

[Q] ISIS - Google Wallet / Does it work for you?

So I got my Note 4 on the 22nd and I'm loving it so far.
I went to try Google Wallet this morning and I could NOT get the tap and pay to work even though the app and phone said it was all set as my default.
ISIS - I don't yet have a card type that they will allow to add in the app.
Curious to see what results you all get? Thanks.
Happy Note 4 days!
No, but it will never work for me. The type of account I am on does not permit it to work.

I actually installed gw and right on the main screen tap and pay. I went into it and it still had my cards from a year ago just selected default. Also was one more thing I saw in settings to select which as default.

Google Play Services is annoying lately. It's been going crazy for me with nlpwakelockcollector keeping my phone awake. So much so that I've just been keeping location off if I'm not using Maps. It used to not do that with location set to high accuracy but now it does. And now it seems to be doing it when I'm in Battery Saving mode as well sometimes.
If this is the wakelock you're getting, it can be remedied with Amplify. Amplify requires Xposed which breaks Android Pay, so I'm not using it.
I wish Google would figure out Play Services because sometimes it causes ZERO issues and other times these wakelocks pop up out of nowhere.

you can always try to clear its cache and/or delete updates. that way you'll be asked to install the updates again, hopefully without that unintentional battery drain.

App info

On my nexus 6 when I dragged an app icon up from the app drawer, I would get choices like cancel, app info, and uninstall... All I get on my pixel xl is cancel and uninstall. How do I get it to say app info?
Thanks
The "App Info" option appears for apps that can be frozen, but not uninstalled. All apps can be uninstalled on the Pixel, so you'll never see that option.
App info still shows for every app for me..

Figured it out. You have to turn on developer options, reboot, and then it is there
Or that
