Battery draining fast after 10% - LG K10 Questions & Answers

My battery is draining really fast (like 3-4 minutes) after it reaches 10%.
Is anyone else having this issue? Any solutions?
I bought this phone 4 days ago.... Don't want to root until there's an easier method.
Any app there can help to calibrate the battery?
Is it worth it to send it to lg in warranty?
Thank you!

My phone's battery used to drain fast before when I bought it for the first time from the store. But after sending it to LG Service Center they reset the phone's software. It works like a charm.

I guess you have mediatek chipset. It's normal for this processor and you can just restart the phone.

Thank you both for your answers, about the service center I'm trying to leave this as my last choice because of my bank apps that needs additional activation...
I never tried restarting the phone, you mean restart or reset? It drops really drastic, like from 10 to 1 in 2 minutes... But I'll give it a try! I'm sad about this being an mediatek thing...
Thank you guys
Any other possibilities?

Hard reset it

Need help with My s620- T-mobile dash

Hello there at first i want to say congrats to you guys for this wonderfull page.. You make a great job giving us all this info to make our phones better..
Well, The problem is that when i turn on the wi-fi the phone stay on like for 2min and the turn off.. i though was a battery problem but no.. when i turn on the phone againg have the same battery life.. some times it just turn off right away when i turn on the wifi..
At first i had WM 6.1 with the same problem.. Now i upgrade to 6.5 Evo Version and still the same..
So if you know any solution to this plz let me now..
Thank's!
suggestion #1: hard reset and reinstall ROM (it worked for me). Your battery life must be above 50%. After that perform a soft reset.
suggestion #2: how old is your battery? check if it isn't failing. I bought a new one after 1 year just in case..
hope it works.

I should go with suggestion # 2, your battery must be in its final trip.
Well.. i figure out that the problem is no only with the wi-fi is also when i'm calling or using the camera... and then i try to turn it on and nothing.. i can use all thi stuff only when i'm charging the phone.

Extreme battery draining after lollipop update

I've been on KitKat for a few months and the battery was amazing until I updated to Lollipop. Any idea why?
You have updated to Lollipop via LG PC Suite?
If yes, have you performed factory reset?
I 'm on 20f(flashed with the LG Flash Tools 2014) . I resetted my phone twice and installed Battery Calibration Pro. Battery is getting better after that.
Try to figure wghich app/process is causing drain. Its hard to figure without root that.

If you are experiencing drain then yes. Factory reset is welcomed when you upgrade software version.
Hi.
Sorry about the question but can anyone tell me what is the amperage used on the original charger/adapter for the LG G3 D855 please?
I need to know it because I lost the power adapter that connects to the cable. I want to buy one but with the right amperage so I don't damage the phone or battery long term and also not to be waiting hours for it to charge.
Thanks for the help.
They are quite small letters to read lol.
I also updated to lollipop and i did a factory reset , and still every 1-2 minutes the battery drop 1% down !
i noticed that the screen cause the problem, it take more then 50% of battery usage.
what should i do?

A 4A charger will do zero harm :good:
Since 7 am, it is not 10 am, so in 3 hours I am at 76% with barely a few instant message sent and one single call. This is not normal.
I'm on the same boat. Phone is draining battery very fast after update. Any news on this??

Hey Sathya
I think the issue could be with the battery but have you tried leaving it on charge for like 16hours. My Swift did that and I left it on charge and when I came home it was on. I guess the battery needed a JumpStart . if not just contact your supplier , they should be able to give you a new one
The issue is batteries not available and we dont knw same design and power where we can arrange alternate. Please if someone know let us know

Swift battery drains a lot after upgrading to CM-13 under OTA upgrade
Can someone advise on the battery problem I have after upgrading to CM-13 via OTA upgrade? The battery seemed to drain 3 times faster than CM-12 which came with the Swift.
Do I have to downgrade or reset to factory default?
Thanks.

Well I just got round to upgrading to Crackling and I am having this problem. The phone used to last easily all day (14 hours) with power to spare. Now it lasts 6-7 hours and it's flat.

LG G3 D855 turn off at 30% battery.

Hello everyone,
My phone has had weird behavior recently . It's suddenly started to turn off when I still have 30% of battery remaining. And then I plug in my phone to try to charge it, it shows 0%. It constantly repeats. I tried to battery calibrations apps and its methods but it doesn't work. Is my phone battery dead? Would someone give me some advice what I can do in a such situation?
The battery is dead go buy a new one make sure its geniune...

You see, I don't think that is it. I had the same issue this month and bought a brand new battery. The problem remains, 30%-35% of battery left and the smartphone turns off. Non-rooted, stock Android 6.0.
Any ideas folks?
Same problem here !
Hey man I'm having exactly the same problem as u and I still haven't found a fix. This prob first started when I upgraded to marshmallow. I bought another battery as well still its the same problem. So bro have u found any fix ?
I got the same problem on my phone, while playing Pokemon. I bought a new battery and problem solved. But I'm still on Lollipop.
Got the same issue, bought 2 new battery, still the same.
Brought back to shop. Got checked and turns out my motherboard has some issue with the battery IC.
Probably too much abuse (overheated quite a number of times, my bad)
Warranty over, quoted RM800 (USD200~) fix (Replace the whole motherboard). Decided not worth it as I bought it for RM1500 (390USD~).
not necessarily, you can try to heat the controlling system for pcb
You can still get a new MOBO for 60$. I got a 3/32gb one for 55$ and its working like a charm

HTC 10 problems

Hello everyone!
So I kinda love my HTC 10 and I really want to keep it working.
I have my HTC 10 and some time ago I actualy started to have problems with my battery. For example phone died on 50% and then said it has 1% when restarted, restarting when cold (this mostly happened when the power saving mode was off). Also when i had like 35% and used my camera, there has been like blinking stripes over the picture and sometimes the phone turnt off instantly. Also when I am using some application, sometimes when i switch to another one, the phone freezes for a second and the screen locks and i have to use screen code (Cant use print like after restarting the phone completly). Also I used the App called AccuBattery and the app always said after a lot of recharges that the capacity of the battery is like 52%.
So i visited one of the repair places here in my city and they said its the battery problem so they actualy changed it for a new one. Unfortunately the same is happening and the battery app still shows like 52% capacity.
Anyone got ideas what should I do?
Also before i had the stock rom and now i tried to install the LeeDroid ROM to see if it helps.

I would run an RUU.
this will reset your battery stats, although flashing leedroid should have done this, but an ruu is the best method (then flash leedroid after)
what is your location and how much were you charged for the battery replacement?
I can't find any local shops here that will touch it.

I'd pay that in a heartbeat if local in the US would work on it.
and RUU is ROM Update Utility
restore the stock ROM and firmware.
then u can reflash twrp and leedroid
backup your internal as it will remove it

So you think, that it actualy can be only a battery problem? Bad configuration or something? And how do I actualy do that Ruu ?

Seems so. If was at 52% and battery was replaced, , accubattery should update accordingly to new battery capacity.
Mine is from release day and at 70%
Does the reboot at 30% and reboots to 1% sometimes too.
RUU, many guides,
https://www.google.com/search?q=xda...ndroid-google&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
Do the research first, it's all available.
Enjoy that new battery!
P.s. Are u not getting better battery, or just going by accubattery? On same rom u need to clear accubattery cache so it can read values from new battery
Perhaps an RUU isn't needed..
What're you trying to accomplish exactly?
I could of read things wrong

Sadly i don't think this is a software issue, experienced with htc m8, galaxy s6 edge and now with htc 10. I also wiped everything, flashed everything, and nothing helps, it is definitely a bad battery problem. And here in Bosnia and Herzegovina, also in Croatia, no one will open it to replace the battery, can't belive this is happening in the US too
Once i tried to do it by myself with the htc m8 and ended with replacing baterry, than, display, than volume buttons and at the end, gps never worked again:cyclops: so, never again.
Next phone priorities: big battery, easy to open

I'm not saying it's software.
I could be misunderstanding his post.
I thought I read hid battery was replaced.
If so accubattery shouldn't still say 53%
But a I would personally do an RUU if my battery was replaced, but that's me.
A shop or 2 *may* do it but it'd be cheaper to find a new in the box htc 10 sadly.
I don't trust myself to open this phone.
My m8 battery is in great shape. I think nearly 95% capacity of the 2800mah, I'm at around 70% of htc 10.
I don't do charging over 85% hardly ever.
Wish I got a refurb from Verizon before warranty expired

I replaced battery on my htc m8, and it was the battery from the m9 it fits in m8, and acubattery showed 108% after one reboot and a few charging cyclus, so i didn't need to RUU it. Maybe htc 10 will update it's battery capacity, but i think they didn't replaced with new battery, maybe it was used and they didn't know that it is that bad...
I hope you understand me, English is not my mother language but i try my best

Nice, my m9 sat in a drawer lol. Loved m8 too much,
But I was responding to OP, so I'm all around confused now lol.
RUU may be too far that's just me.
But I'd at least clear accubattery data and cache so it's fresh and can read new battery.
Otherwise you have data from old and new battery.

Interesting that I'm dealing with this same problem, too. I'm running MaximusHD 2.7.0 (yes, it's that old!) and I'm wondering if, because of the restores from TWRP backups, that the battery stats are borked.
Any suggestions on what to do here? I'd really rather not flash an RUU. Would you say it's possible to reinstall MaxHD without wiping data to see if that helps?
Thanks in advance!

HTC in bootloop
Hello Everyone,
My HTC 10 started to have boot loop when its 50% battery. I didn't care about it in the beginning.
After a while, it's only in the boot loop not turning at all. I tried recovery mode and everything when tried
that it's just boot looping nothing else. Is there any way that I can erase and install the stock HTC 10 file system using
PC or any other way that I can save this phone??
Thanks in advance
I have the exact same problem as the op. Have you guys found any solutions?
edit: I THINK clean flashing oreo firmware then latest RUU then twrp then lineage fixed my issue, charging to full rn will drain it over the next day and report back if its gone for good
