Really need help - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So i have searched all over the internet and havent found ant help. My phone is in a bootloop and i can't get out of it, i have tried with Nexus root tool kit to factory reset but just bootloop have tried it twice. Also tried to install factory with TWRP but still bootloop. I have an unlocked bootloader, I also tried to lock it and start with a new factory image but didnät work either . So please help me if you can i'm willing to try anything can't afford a new phone right now.
BIG UPDATE
So now after some work with trying to fx this i have found the problem with it. It's that my phone dosen't install the files that i install with either adb or TWRP. I found this by putting pure nexus rom on the phone and installing it with TWRP and then remove it from the storage. That was when the storage on the phone said it was still zero even when i had choose to install a new rom on the phone. but it still bootloop with the google logo and the four dots that pulse and then reboots.
Another Update
So i tried with installing the pixel rom from the xda forum and it all went well and all with the insallation no errors what so ever but my boot animation changed to pixels but still continue to bootloop still don't know whats happening.

I'm not sure what state your device is in right now. Is the bootloader locked or unlocked? When you tried to lock it, don't try that again, did it lock or did it remain unlocked when you re-booted into the bootloader? Were you able to successfully flash the factory image?
I'd suggest you carefully read thru this and pay particular attention to how to flash a factory image, http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206930

Whell when i locked the bootloader it got locked but then when it bootlooped for one to two hours i opened it again and went to ask the pros at xda. I also read through the guide you linked me and did as said in the tutorial but my phone is still bootlooping right now.

Did you successfully manually flash each of the image files in the latest factory image? Bootloader, radio, system, boot, etc.

Galaxy Nexus stuck on Google logo boot loop help [GSM]

I am running the stock rom without root and unlock and I got the 4.0.2 OTA update 3 days ago. Today when I do the pattern unlock my phone froze and reboot. Now I cannot get pass the Google logo boot screen.
I am able to get into the recovery mode but I don't want to do a factory restore as I don't have anything backup yet.
Is there any solution to this boot loop problem? I am surprise that I am getting this problem as I am running the stock rom without any root / mod.
If there is no solution to this, is there any way I can backup my phone before doing the factory restore?
Many thanks!
You can back up via adb. Try searching in the General threads, since there's a long topic on this...
Good luck!
Thanks, I do find information about backup, but I can't find anything regarding the bootloop...
When i got stuck at the Google screen with a bootloop i booted into the bootloader/fastboot screen with vol up+down power and i redid the one click all process and it basically rewiped my device and put it back to working again with unlocked bootloader rooted etc....
All you have to remember is what build number you have and let the toolkit work its magic.

Sorry, forgot to mention. You're probably gonna have to wipe via recovery - which is why I pointed you to a back up...

I can't find a way to backup without going into Android. I can only go to Fastboot Mode.
Anyone know how to backup the file using abd without getting into android?
Why did make 2 threads about this. Unlock the boot loader and use adb to flash your stock. Image files. You will loose all data unfortunately but I think that's the only way to fix it.

Ok I'm stuck with the same problem now. I wanted to flash a ROM, so I downloaded AOKP, flashed it and rebooted and the phone refuses to boot past the Google logo and keeps rebooting again and again. I am able to get into the recovery. I have flashed the ROM several times and its still the same. I have done a complete wipe as well. Still no go.
Fastboot command doesnt work in the bootloader either. I have made sure the drivers are installed, still there is nothing when I type fastboot devices. If I type any fastboot command it just says <waiting for device> or something like that.
Any other suggestions? :-s

MAke sure you dont have the memory card used when unlocking bootloader, inside the phone. It will cause bootloop. IF bootloop persists, flash stock firmware, go to recovery and clear cache/data etc. It should boot.
For perfect root and twrp, refer my post #501 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...der-unlock-t3358913/post66386928#post66386928)

First and foremost... THANK YOU!
I've been pulling my hair out for weeks trying to get my phone to boot, but this boot loop has been driving me insane! I've probably flashed 7 different factory ROMs in Odin no less than 5 times each!
And all I had to do was pull my SD card out??
Second:
How did you know that???

It's a common mistake.

Tiny little explanation, When rooting and unlocking your bootloader via ADB, the script wipes your SD card and puts a special code in it to backup your phones original CID. This may be used to unbrick your phone one day. So your NEWLY unlocked phone is using a new CID and your SD card is on the old one. Hence the boot loop. So when reading the OP, I thought the same thing. I didn't seem his say he pulled out his SD card after rooting. Hopefully you guys got it working again.
Lol, Honestly I dint figure it out. I read somewhere in the forums about it. Dont remember exactly who suggested it. But, it worked for me.
Did it work for you?
I have same problem, was on BPA1, unlocked bootloader, flashed twrp, something went wrong had to flash stock again, CPL1 loads up fine but when flashing back to BPA1 runs into bootloop, help.
you rock

Edut;Deleted OS and all zips are marked as corrupted.

First, let me start off by saying I'm an idiot; my phone was stuck in a bootloop and out of panic I tried to fix the problem and only made it worse. Now I'm left with no OS installed and I'm stuck at my custom recovery.
I am using twrp as my custom recovery and I'm able to use my mac to send files successfully to my phone. The problem arises when I try to flash the zip and I am prompted with the message that says that the file is corrupted. I tried installing multiple zip files onto my phone and when returning it to stock did not work I even tried to flash Cyanogen Mod. Each time I was greeted with the same message.
This sucks because I just bought my nexus 5x and I don't want to lose it to a stupid mistake. If anyone could help in anyway that would be amazing. If not I will still accept prayers for my potentially dead phone.
-Carlos
Edit: problem solved. I did what you guys said and returned to stock and didn't panic. Thanks so much.
you mean the unlocked bootloader message? thats nothing
or maybe the md5 message, which also is normal?
to me sounds like you are panicking for no reason, but anyway, search for nexus root toolkit, install it, and choose the option to revert stock + unroot

Yeah as said above there is no need for panic.
Even if your recovery wont flash the zips you can flash the stock factory images via fastboot manually (i dont now if its available on mac if not boot a linux live disk).
And if your bootloader is still locked unlock it reboot to bootloader and then flash the images.
By the way you should provide more information such as os details twrp version bootloader state and so on...:fingers-crossed:

various issues with google variant

I've had Google phones for years now, including previous Pixel, but I just got an XL 2 yesterday and I'm regretting it.
It's Google unlocked and running June's latest image. I've experienced various app crashing on stock, and random reboots.
Then there's the rooting and flashing. I unlocked the bootloader and installed the most recent, twrp (the one verified to work on xda for roms) but can't flash anything.
My twrp either hangs on the twrp start screen, or when it does load, the touch screen doesn't work. When I can get it going, every rom I flash gives me an error on the second step. I'm flashing on slot B by the way, that's what boots up when I boot to twrp.
Lastly, I am unlocked both for flashing and flashing_critical thru adb, so I'm at a loss and seriously confused.
When I FIRST unlocked everything, I was able to flash Nitrogen rom but I got stuck at the rom splash screen.
Tldr:
-What is the Correct install method/sequence for roms?
-do the slots matter?
-is random reboots and app crashing on stock a sign of a hardware issue?
I haven't installed a custom ROM on my P2XL, so I'm running rooted stock. Anyway, for rooted stock, this is what I did.
Entered bootloader mode.
Booted into recovery using the command "fastboot boot recovery.img", where "recovery.img" is the TWRP recovery iteslf. In my case, I renamed it "taimen.img".
Flashed the TWRP installer zip needed for the P2XL (Required if intending to replace the stock recovery).
Rebooted into recovery.
Flashed a custom kernel (Recommended - resolves touch issues in TWRP).
Flashed Magisk.
6. Rebooted.
If installing a custom ROM, flash it prior to the custom kernel. Slots only matter if running stock. Random reboots and app crashes are not signs of a hardware issue.

Ya know my friend, after our conversation yesterday, and your questions in the nitrogen thread, and now random reboots and app crashes, I think it's time to consider a factory reset. You shouldn't be having those problems on a stock setup. If that's not successful, then I would definitely consider an RMA. Just my 2 cents worth :good:
I agree. I got it used tho which is an issue.

Just so you know, I got the rom to flash finally, but it's stuck at the rom splash screen during first boot. I'm going to leave it and hope it eventually boots up.

If it doesn't after 5 minutes, do a hard restart with the power button. If that doesn't work, then reboot to twrp and flash the rom and twrp installer zip again.
Ok cool thanks. I relocked bootloader last night and went back to stock. Unlocked it all this morning from my work computer and different unlock app. So here's hoping.

I finally got everything to work. My vendor image is a mismatch but I could just flash junes and be done with it, right?

What did you do to get it to work? You could just flash the June vendor.img to both slots. If you keep getting a vendor mismatch, probably nothing to worry about according to the Dev of nitrogen.
Different machine, cable and unlocking tool.
But I went to bone stock with locked bootloader, then flashed the newest twrp with the newest all in one tool. Was on slot A so wiped everything and flashed rom plus twrp again. I rebooted system to slot B, but then it just hung at the rom splash screen.
So I did it all over on slot A, ignored the "no os installed" message and booted anyway. Then it fired up. Rebooting into twrp from there took me to B, which is where I need to be for an image file or root.
So yea, thanks for the help.
I'm having this issue also. I tried flashing nitrogen, it hung. I tried to go back with factory reset Img and nothing happens in adb. Flashed the may img and it wouldn't boot all the way up. Now I'm stuck in bootloader trying to figure this all out. Seems like nothing in doing is working. I can get recovery to boot, but no files inside so idk. Tried to sideloadb nitrogen, but it said adb out of date for device when sdk is fully updated.

You didn't mention the out of date message in your other post, but uninstall SDK and then download the stand-alone adb/fastboot binaries from May of this year. Dump that in a folder (eg. c:\adb) and put that folder in your path statement. Manually flash the full factory image without modifying flash-all.bat. Post your screeen if you have any errors. :good:

Google knows the date the phone was purchased based on imei number and honors their warranty by date, not owner. Unless it was blacklisted.

bricked my phone with locked bootloader, sideload successful but bootloop persist

Dear all,
I bricked my phone when i upgrade my pixel 2 xl to android 10 while never enabling the allow oem unlock form the developer mode.
I notice many similar thread but my case is a bit different since i can still acceaa fastboot and recovery, i tried to sideload the recovery ota as per official guide in google website, the process indicate that sideload is successful but my phone still stuck in bootloop.
Since i live in Indonesia, there is no available rma for me. Please help me, is anyone have any idea how to fix this, i've tried almost every tool i find in this forum such deuce script, all in one tool, etc. But still getting bootloop.
I'd like to get something straight...
When you upgraded to 10, did you do it through the stock Android System Updater or did you download an OTA/Full Factory image and flashed it yourself?
Also, you can boot to a twrp recovery and flash as I posted here in this topic. simplepinoi177 responded there also
Hi, i upgrade trough the ota (system updater), and i can not flash twrp as the bootloader is locked. I can not boot any img.
Have you tried factory reset in recovery?
