BND L21 not upgrading to Oreo

Hi everyone so it seems like Emui is not updatable via OTA if you're not living in Europe..... What is this batch update and why huawei can't just upload a rom to be updated manually???

I live in Italy, have the Oreo Beta but I don't have received yet face unlock..... Honor are you serious?

Same. Living in Germany. Used the Beta and still waiting for official Oreo. But I think it will be rolled out in several phases within the next two to four weeks. So we probably have to be patient

Same here too in Germany, no officially update for the Beta, always on android security patch February. We wait again!

today firmware finder showed my device as approved for the update. so i downloaded it and installed it with firmware finder. the system update app by huawei didnt show the update yet.

Oreo beta in Italy, I too had to use firmware finder to get stable one.

Which version did you download?

Igot official update of EMUI 8.0 with oreo update.

Austria. Still no Oreo update so far. Unbranded device...

No September, still no update. 2 Mails to honor. They will take care. But..Nothing..... Shame on you Honor

I have netmgrd and ipa_ws wakelocks on stock rom.

Almost every ROM has a problem with it. My personal favorite is Resurrection Remix I have been using the GSI for months until the official release came out, I got to say both the GSI and the Official version run super good. The customization features are very good and stable, battery life is optimized and better with a kernel. I had heard the crDroid is really good!

The april patch fixed all problems I used to have with my A2 Lite. Didn't try and GSI.

Are you on the beta program? When did you get it?

Oh, I'm sorry. Installed March Update in April, my mistake ?.
I'm on 10.0.7 and all issues (like 2,4ghz WiFi) are fixed for me.
Gcam was always working fine for me. I use 6.1.021.220943556_test2.3.
It's the one customized for Nokia and with some playing in the settings autofocus problem was fixed.

How to update
Change the file name to UL-ASUS_I01WD-ASUS-18.0610.2106.156-1.1.1-user.zip (only needed for ota file) and put this file into root of internal memory.
Reboot the phone or unplug the phone from the computer.
You will get the notification for the update.

I checked for updates on mine and got the 194 update right away. Surprised this didn't have the October security patch in it... but I suppose that might be a lot to ask.

Thank you for WW 194 link. I was able to manually upgrade Partition B (putting the update in root and restarting phone - I got the official update prompt), then use Magisk Manager to patch it while I still had Magisk on Partition A (WW 189) - this was crazy cool. Didn't even need to plug my phone into a PC!

Thanks for this tip, worked like a charm!
I installed the update by putting the zip in the root of internal storage and then - without restarting - directly opened Magisk Manager to click install and choose the option to "Install to inactive slot (after OTA)"
Maybe I'm late to the party, but I never knew Magisk had this option. It beats having to manually extract, patch and flash boot.img by a landslide :good:

Which Magisk versions are working with latest .194 please?

No "1906" means security update for June 2019 which is really old. The latest version is WW_16.1220.1909.194_0 with September security update and we are waiting for the next update with at least October security update or even Android 10 major update.

Oh this is interesting to know that it's referred to security patch. I usually was reading about security patch on release news but is useful to read from the file name.
But it would have been even more weird if they had released (for US) now an update with June patch.
They had June patch in August like in EU (beginning of August).

Thank to this thread I was able to update my phone yesterday. It was at WW_16.1220.1908.189_0 for a while now.
Also, can anyone here help answering me this: Why is my phone not auto update these new versions of its firmware? Only until some apps not working that I noticed the firmware is outdated. I bought it secondhand, it was rooted but I reset it with the buyer's help. Is that why or does phone now need to be updated manually?
If this is not the place to ask this, I am sorry. People here seem to be well verse in this topic, so...

Maybe your Bootloader is still unlocked and you have to lock it again to get OTA update.

New update Android 10 is here.

Yes it's good and phone is running smoother then before

Mine auto updated to the July update and I have had some random stutters and interface lag. I will continue to test it out but if the behavior continues, I will likely be going back to rooting and downgrading to a previous version sadly

anyone per chance have a copy of the new update?

After 2 weeks of using the current version, device is hotter, the screen is often flickering, I have to restart it
