Are the accessories that were used for the LG V10 compatible with the V20? - LG V20 Accessories

Hi,
I ask this because I have a V10 and am wondering if I can use cases and batteries and such with the V20?
Thanks in advance.

serious? phones are different in every way. different dimensions, battery size, screen to body ration, usb ports, etc...

I'll go to the store and look for myself.
Thanks any way.

[Q] Are Droid/Milestone accessories compatible with v2 devices?

Hi,
I think it's likely I'm going to get a Milestone 2 when they are available, and wondered whether the things like cradles etc are compatible between the original Milestone/Droid and the Milestone 2/Droid 2?
I've seen a video where (I think) a Motorola employee said that the two are device compatible, but I've also seen a review and specs which state that the devices are slightly different sizes which makes me question that statement.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Steve.
Anyone? Is it that difficult a question?
I know the Droid dock works with the Droid 2. The other stuff I can't speak on though.
The Droid holster from Verizon fits the Droid 2 just fine. You might be able to find some on clearance at authorized dealers now that the original Droid is starting to be phased out.
Thanks for the replies guys.
Car / home dock, holster, shell holster will work with D2 shell. That's all. (Except universals lol)... oh, and also the battery.

I can also confirm the original Droid multimedia dock and batteries fit the Droid 2 [Global].
One thing that didn't fit were screen protectors, as the new bezel is everso slightly different in dimension - but with the Gorilla Glass I've found you don't need to bother with a protective film anyway.

$12.00 dock on ebay

Just wanted to share this dock i found on ebay. Looks way better than the samsung one as it has a simpler design. Looks like an iphone dock.

If you look at the picture closely you can see that's an international galaxy s2 in the dock our phones have different dimensions than that of the other versions of the galaxy so that dock may not fit your phone at all. A good trick for looking for the proper accessories for our phones, since there are so many versions of it, is including "t989" in any search on eBay or Amazon you do.

Well the dock is made to fit our phones, so of course it will fit the international version as well. I saw a couple of reviews on youtube and the s2 was able to mount with a case. Thats good enough space to fit the extra thickness of our phones. I ordered 2, I will give feedback once I receive them.

Please do. I'm intersted & would like one at the house
I have had this dock (actually 3 of them now) for a few months. Used it with my AT&T Samsung Infuse then with my AT&T GS2 and now with my T-Mo T989.
Fits and works perfectly with the T989 even with the Diztronics case on it. Well worth the price.

You shot the OP down without even reading the ebay description. T989 is one of the compatible devices.

Correct, and it will work with just about any brand "bar type" phone with the jack centered on the bottom. You either use or don't use the rubber insert that comes with it to adjust to size or with or without case. For $12 it's a great buy. If you want it faster there are some US sellers selling it for around $20.
This looks great !! Quick question though. Do you have an hdmi adapter for yours ? I'm looking to basically be able to charge/hdmi out by dropping it in a cradle lol
1 more question. Does the phone feel sturdy enough in it? I'd like to get 1 to modify into a car mount too
Thanks !

Custom 3d Printed Car Dock

So just like Cray Talk, I got tired of waiting on Samsung and designed and built my own Car Dock. It took me 3 designs/prototypes but the final outcome is quite nice. It has the POGO pins (only 2) and a micro USB plug. It was built on my Objet printer so I'm not sure how durable it will be long term but so far so good. The material tends to get soft at higher temperatures so fingers crossed it will be OK this summer . I would love to tool this thing and mold it but with how fast things change in the tech world, I doubt I could recoup my investment. I would be happy to share my CAD files of the car dock and/or the Gnex phone solid I used to create it for anyone interested in having a go themselves or if they want to build one. BTW this fits the CDMA with extended battery version.
Awesome work! Those objets make things look easy
I'd love to give the cad files (sold and the dock) a try - I have reprap myself, but hopefully I can convert them to something printable on my machine. (I'd like to try for a desktop dock as well)
What software did you design in?

Thanks. I use Solidworks. PM me with what CAD format you want and I'll send you he files.
Looks good, it would be perfect if I didn't need this stupid case. Wish I had access to a 3d printer.

Very nice!!!
I'd love it if you could share your CAD file(s).
We have a 3d printer here at work and I'd love to print this :-D

pm me with what CAD format you want and I will send them to you. Native format is Solidworks.
AWESOME. I love it. Now if only Samsung sold a 3 pin connector or simply a dock that accommodated a case, then I would be in heaven. Seriously, the Droid Razr dock is by FAR the best dock I have seen out there. It used a spacer so you could remove it to fit the phone, WITH A CASE, into the dock. And then a simple sliding micro USB connected to the phone. No fiddling with wires, no head ach.

It's a shame there are so many cases out there with different shapes and sizes. Can't possibly account for everything.
Indeed but the most common is the silicone/TPU cases, so even if the dock worked with them, it would be a step in the right direction
Are you selling these yet?
FYI - if you want, you can start selling your desgin @ Ponoko. Maybe with a little more tweaking you could make a slot for the 3 pin pogo connector.
I'd bet you would sell quite a few of these.
As a side note, I'm kinda surprised no 3rd party has made a pogo pin car dock by now.
Im not selling them because they are expensive to build given the material costs $0.50 per gram.
Regarding the pogo pin question, they are in the design and are working great.

Let your customers incur the cost.
I am getting a 3d printer at work and the cost of the material will be much cheaper than yours...lets talk. How many grams of material does it use? Are you using ABS? Did you use a tutorial for the pogo part? If so, which?
For anyone interested in the dock I made...
You can grab the files from here.

There are several different formats including .stl. I bought the POGO pins from DIGI-Key, PN-ED8182-ND and the Micro USB from SparkFun, PN-BOB-09614.
I do not take any responsibility for it's functionality when built from your 3d printer or other prototyping methods. I built mine from an Objet 30 and it works great.
This is designed to fit CDMA version with the extended battery and cover. I designed it to snap on an existing Motorola suction cup mount from a droid bionic car dock.
Have fun!
Thanks a lot this will certainly come in handy.

I PM'd you the info on getting my files. I don't remember the exact weight but I think it is around 150 grams of build material and 200 grams of support material. I have an Objet machine so it uses photo polymer material specific to Objet.
The pogo pin design and usb design is my creation, no tutorial around that I know of.

[Q] Magnetic dock VS Magnetic clip for charging???

Hi All,
I have been looking at a few reviews of owners and their trials and errors
I would like to ask from those who have tried various docks and clip on chargers for the Z3 compact,
which of these would you recommend.
I am using a flap case with mine and don't want to end up purchasing something that totally doesn't fit
or completely useless in its ability to charge properly.
Could you give me some tips, ideas and feedback please??? Even if just listing names I don't mind
doing the search myself on the items.
Thanks!:good:
i've been using the Magnector since November, when i got the phone.
http://www.amazon.com/Magnector-Performance-Xperia-Charging-Cable/dp/B00JEMESHG
zero issues. i chose the cable over any docks because i wanted some flexibility in case i needed to charge in my car, or while travelling; and i also wanted to be able to use it while it was charging.
I'm using the Deff microusb adapter and am very happy with it.
I have it pictured with my Rinke Fusion clear case here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58136303&postcount=21
I got it elsewhere, but it's available on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Original-Pack...rds=deff&pebp=1421284468288&peasin=B00KNLFS9E
I am using the original Sony DK48.
Battery life is OK and i can make small charges easier with it. But the device is a bit overpriced thought.

[Q] Using G3 QI Wireless sticker?

Was looking at the pictures and it seems the connectors look the same on the LG G4 and LG G3. Thinking of trying a LG G3 QI charger sticker on the G4.
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/QI-G...-Wireless-Charging-Case-Cover/1971193812.html
Read in the G3 forum people seem fairly happy with the sticker solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/accessories/nfc-wireless-charging-sticker-t2818424
Is there something I am missing here or some issue with these stickers I am not aware of?

Think you have to look better. Because on the G3 i see 4 pins and on the G4 there are two.

I think the pins for NFC and wireless charging are located on the right side of the back of the phone. If that's the case, there are indeed 4 pins on the G4.
http://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/lg-g4-hands-on-sg-9.jpg
But not on the same place as the G3.... so a one on one fit is not going to happen.
I was wondering this too, but from the pictures it looks like it is a bit different. I'm hoping they will release these stickers by the time the us gets it. I want to use the leather back and qi
wireless charging cases are already available on ebay for the g4
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LG-G4-F50...t=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item43dbaaed4c
so just a matter of time before the stickers are available separately

exactly :good:
Just see the picture of back samsung s5 is so similar to G4, both are 2 pin, is there anyone try to use S5’s sticker on G4? Thanks
The seller in the OP says they're doing a pre-sale for G4 stickers so I'd say stay tuned. They claim they'll have them in a couple weeks.
I just received the wireless sticker from China, and installed it in the back of the phone. I tried the phone on two different Qi pucks, both of which work on my Moto G, and could not get any signs of life from either puck.
Has anybody had any luck with these stickers, and please don't refer me to the video of the guy installing one on a phone. I've reviewed that video two or three times, and I have no idea what I've done wrong. I think I've got the gold contacts all lined up appropriately, although I can't see for sure when the cover goes back on the phone.
I would welcome anybody's comment on how successful they were--if they managed to get the thing charging--and whatever tips they might be able to pass along.
Enzo
