UMi Diamond is the most recent product from UMi, a compact and tough 5 inches phone which is available in pre-sale at the stunning price of 99.99$. It’s not only tough, but it also presents a clean and classy design: resistant but also polished and with a sober and elegant appearance, shiny as a diamond in its black, white and gold variants.
One of the main focus of the product is the resistance: the glass used by the UMi Diamond offers scratch-resistant and shock-resistant protection to a high degree.
As the video shows, the UMi Diamond survives the two side drops and the flat screen one without problems, the phone is fully working and has taken no damage to its vital parts, thanks to the combination of a strong metal frame, a resistant polycarbonate back cover and the patented Dual T2X-1 glass.
Also, the materials used for the metal frame and the back cover help to reduce the damage caused by random impacts, helping to preserve the functioning of the phone.
After the laboratory tests made some days ago, UMi wanted to show a video where they perform some real-life drop tests at 1.2 and 1.5 meters, to simulate those bad drops that may happen when pulling out the phone from the pocket or form the bag while in the street.
So, for just less than 100 dollars you can bring home a phone powered by the powerful Octa-Core processor MT6753 clocked at 1.5 Ghz, with 3GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage with support up to 128GB Micro-SD Card.

From previous news, we know that UMi Diamond will be a tough phone, able to resist to bump and scratches better than common phones.
One of the main focus of the product is the resistance of the display: Strengthened glass must be scratch-resistant and shock-resistant, and the T2X-1 glass used by the UMi Diamond offers both qualities to a high degree.

But UMi today wanted to show a video where they show a few examples of the tests which the UMi Diamond undergoes in reliable lab tests to prove its strength, showing how much it can be tortured.

As it seems that this phone has an Trojan/Adware installer built into its systemui.apk just like the umi london has, is there any way to port any other rom to this device ? i would even live with an android 5 version as long as i can use a clean phone

Oukitel has indicated that they plan on releasing the smartphone some time in mid July, although that date is also tentative. Based on Oukitel's historical pricing and similar smartphones, though, it shouldn't be more than about USD$200.

Oukitel is one of Chinese smartphone manufacturers who sell their smartphone products via a number of Chinese resellers. This company has been manufacturing somewhat interesting devices lately, and a number more are going to launch before the end of this year. We’re currently reviewing the company’s Oukitel U10 smartphone, which is a very affordable handset with compelling specifications. The company is also working on a smartphone which will pack a 10,000mAh battery on the inside, and is expected to launch in the coming weeks.
The Oukitel K4000 is another Oukitel-branded smartphone. This is actually a mid-range smartphone which has some really impressive durability capabilities. The device doesn’t look all that rugged, but it seems it can take a serious beating. Oukitel has released a new video on their official webpage… and it’s really interesting. The company is showcasing how resistant this device is by beating its screen with a hammer continuously… spoiler alert!… the device continued working normally after the ‘hammer treatment’. This is rather impressive, and if you tend to break your screen a lot, this might be a solution, even though this is ‘just’ a mid-range phone. The aforementioned video is embedded below this article. As far as the design goes, Oukitel K4000 sports a metallic trim around the device with chamfered edges, and three capacitive buttons below the display (menu, home and back, respectively).
The Oukitel K4000 features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 64GB). The device is powered by MediaTek’s MT6735 64-bit quad-core SoC running at 1.3GHz, and a 4,000mAh battery is also a part of this package. The 13-megapixel camera is located on the back of Oukitel K4000, and a 5-megapixel snapper is available up front. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with some additions by Oukitel, and 4G LTE connectivity is also included here (FDD-LTE). After 2 days of extensive use of this device I will give 9.5 out of 10 points for this camera. For very little price you will get a good specified device which runs on MTK6735 1.3 GHz Quad Core Processor with 2GB Ram/16GB ROM and HD 720x1280 pixel 5.5 Inch IPS, G+F lamination screen . The front camera is 2.0 Mega Pixel (interpolation 5.0MP) and rear camera is 8.0MegaPixel (interpolation 13.0MP) with flashlight and auto focus. It is included by massive 3000 mAh battery which can easily take out your day.
On the front side, top is equipped by a 2.0 MP camera alongside sensors, led notification light and on the down, capacitive touch buttons. The back side of the device is made of plastic (brushed metallic finish which gives a premium look), top equipped with 8.0 MP camera with flash light and at the bottom "HOMTOM" logo printed.
The frame is made of Aluminium metal which gives a nice look in this price range. The volume rockers and power buttons are place on left side of the device (trend is right side). Bottom is equipped with two speaker grills (one is just for symmetry) with normal USB point and a 2.5 mm jack hole on the top.
HOMTOM HT7 Pro runs on Android 5.1 lollipop version with near stock vanilla AOSP. You will get approx 11 GB out of 16 GB ROM usable and almost 1 GB free RAM always which makes this device faster and smoother. I had played ASPHALT 8 game and it was buttery smooth.
On the Antutu Bench mark it scored 24735 and Geekbench 487 on single core / 1392 multi core. The screen is 5 point touch screen and only Accelerometer, Light and Proximity sensors are supported. It comes with some pre-installed apps like Applock, Bagan Myanmar and Go keyboards. It support FM Radio and you need an earphone to use as antenna.

Its dual sim LTE device and also support SD card upto 128 GB. Expecting more..................... think again Overall it is a cheap and best smartphone under US$80 price tag.

I have this phone and the camera is quite good. But it's far from being a camera phone - te macro is not good at all and the focus is not very fast(not bad also).
The battery is nothing special.
This is a smartphone which will come probably loaded with 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and one which is said to be powered by a 64-bit MediaTek (MT6737) processor. Uhans will choose MT6737 CPU: 4x ARM Cortex-A53 up 1.3GHz with Mali 720 GPU.

A good camera has increasingly become one of the most decisive factors for good smartphones.
The UHANS H5000 cannot quite really a member of very good smartphone in terms of the specs, but its camera does make it a worthy contender at its price.
The 8MP rear camera it comes with is not so special, comparing to other smartphones on the current market. The Sony IMX219 sensor is nothing special, either. What matters is how the engineers of UHANS have made it to be.
The speed of auto-focus has been greatly adjusted. It takes no more than 0.1s. Colors are sharper and more vivid, close to reality. It has ditched all the shortcomings of phones with that sensor, rendered with excellent crispness, the photos taken with H5000 replete with great viewing angles and vivid, sumptuous colors.

Looks like a great phone. A friend has the regular UMi Plus and it performs very well. The only issue with it is the GPS performance is very poor, it hops/stutters around a lot.
Does anyone know if the new chipset in the UMi Plus Extreme will address the GPS problem or is there an easy fix which can be applied to the UMi Plus Extreme? I'd like to purchase the UMi Plus Extreme but I need good GPS functionality as I rely on Google Navigation a lot whilst driving.
Not sure if 6GB of RAM will ever be utilized fully
