Back light not working on Xperia play, what do i need to change?

I just traded my mini pro for a Xperia play with no back light working and sd card not reading. Ive dismantled all of the play and put it all back together and still the same problem and i have also used SEUS to reflash the software and still no back-light. You can see the play is on, its just really hard to see and i can receive calls. Im hoping to fix this for my my girl friend as i already have one.
My main concern is the back light and then the sd i think lol also the green light comes on when charging
So do i need a new screen or can i just change a part?
Thanks
Is the screen light built in to the screen? Or could it be the proximity sensor is broke any one please
Also if I open the game pad a little bit the screen works and fully open didn't work.

Possibly a damaged ribbon cable?
That's what I think but the ribbon that connects to the screen and the keyboard is hard to get to, the only side I can get to is the side that connects to the keyboard, there's a video on YouTube but didn't show you how to take your digitizer or get the ribbon out completely.

The digitizer is not attached to the LCD and comes off with the frame. The cable goes under the LCD module and I've seen it for sale but I'm not sure if it's meant to detach from the other end. If it has a short or something, It's likely where it connects to the bottom half or where it folds anyway. Have you taken it apart and taken a look at the folding cable?
i also have the same problem.
my lcd light are off.
but my touchscreen(lcd) still working, i can make call receive call, open app and other.
but the light too dim. hardly to see anything that i click/touch on the lcd.
plssss help me out.
does i need to change the lcd? or other parts of the phone?
and where is the light on the lcd btw?
i already flash my phone. so i dont think it is software problem.
i have the same problem but have no light at all, screen self is responsive if im touching it but no backlight
please help

[Q] lcd change

hi all!
please help!
after screen change my phone just charging at least led shows green and red light but do not switch on.I can see just white shadow for 3 sec approx.I bought lcd with digitizer mounted together.I do not know what to do...
did you do it yourself? is your screen an original spare part or a replacement?
could not be a light sensor bug because it's only active after booting android and you should at least see your bootscreen. either faulty cheap counterpart or installation gone wrong. take it to a professional phone repair center and let them fix it. that orange ribbon/connector assembly at the bottom of lcd is a very fragile part and if handled roughly during installation it could snap some ultra thin wires so signal to the leds gets through but no image.
i've done this before but I'm not an expert, maybe someone could tell if new lcd/digitizer in sony requires firmware changes? you won't do much in recovery but you can still flash something with flashtool which only requires you to see led status and one button. good luck.

[Q] Sprint LG G2 - No Backlight !!

Hi There,
I bought a Spring LG G2 LS980 on ebay with an non-working backlight with cracked screen. At the moment, I thought that the screen was broken beyond the LCD and that replacing the Screen, LCD and Backlight it would work. So I bought a new screen and replaced it like any other G2, but now the phone turns on and sounds tell me the phone is working and responding to my touch, but I can't see anything! The status LED is my only indication if the phone is off, booting, on or charging. Is this a software issue or am I gonna have to replace more chips? Thanks,
Sincerely,
Sohaib
EDIT: So i did some testing around, and it seems like the flex assembly with the power buttons gets super hot when the phone is supposed to be on. When I press on the lower right contact between the screen and the assembly, the backlight flashes for a moment, so it looks like the connector is damaged. It is a hardware issue. Thanks,
-Sohaib

Dual Led flash not working

Hi everyone,
A friend bought a g3 today with lollipop version, and we just found out that the flash is not working.
We tried to install a torch application and a diagnostic app. But the dual Led don't turn on.
I don't think that flashing the phone will change anything, I'm afraid that it can be hardware.
Do you think that the dual Led can be replaced?
Thank you for reading , we really need your help...
Try using camera app to invoke the flash indoors under bright white temperture light (fluro light) the orange one should light up when i take photo as it will try and add some skin tone back with more orange toned flash.
Conversely take photo in incandescent lit room and see of the white LED flash when you tale pics. The phone should try to balance out the orange tinted light with white flash.
If not and under warranty u may have a reasom to return it for repair.
thank you for your answer.
I think this is a hardware problem, and coincidentally when I try to call the seller, I fall on the voicemail.
Basically, he scammed us and I have doubts whether it is still under warranty.
You think it's fixable without changing the motherboard?

Broke Camera Ribbon

So as I was replacing the screen my nexus I stabbed the camera ribbon the screw driver hoping it didn't do anything. Ends up the camera is dead and is no longer showing up as recognized. I open the camera app and it crashes. Few apps allow me to use front camera still. So I ordered the replacement and waiting. It seems my LED isn't working and i know I didn't hit that but would that have a relation to camera. Like will it work after I replace the camera?

I haven't looked at this in awhile but the ifixit teardown might help you see if the LED and camera are integrated with the ribbon that you accidentally stabbed.

Well I tried that and it appears they aren't connected. The LED is actually soldered straight to the motherboard. What's odd is they worked before the screen replacement and before the camera ribbon problem. But it appears apps that control the LED are saying I literally don't have LED. Like it says it appears your phone doesn't have LED support so we will use your screen blah blah blah.

I am entirely uneducated in this regard, but maybe it is possible the LED issue is associated with the camera ribbon? Are you certain the LED was not dislodged in any way? Either way, I think it is a waiting game until your replacement camera arrives and you can slot that in to test.
