OMG!! D-Day has arrived in the US! 60% charge cap for Note 7 T-Mobile! - Note 7 Questions & Answers

This is serious. An attempt to destroy our Note 7s has begun with T-mobile being the first for pushing out an update to cap the battery @ 60%!!
http://www.phonearena.com/news/T-Mo...te-7-that-limits-battery-charge-to-60_id87447
With some research on these forums I have found the link for correct 6.3 OTA package disabler son (6.4 removes OTA disabler)
https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=e344c7f7f1fe86c3&id=E344C7F7F1FE86C3!1924&authkey=!AIfDkz0V-XIn4XE
I typed in "update" in the app and disabled what is shown in the screenshot. If anybody can add to what I have done or let me know if I have missed anything please let me know.
Hunker down and stay safe from the update! See you on the other side

I'm on T-mobile as well. It's fun while it lasted. Then again, grab yourself a quick charge battery pack. Shoot, in 30 minutes you'll be up to 50%.

The quick charge does not work the same or as fast after the first update. Sometimes I've noticed it charge at different speeds. Seems kind of random. I'm pretty sure the quick charge was either disabled or reduced though.

Oh that sucks. Mine works fine so far. I've checked my quick charge battery pack vs. charger itself it works pretty much same speed. I've even test it with my voltage meter.
Check the screen shot from the battery pack.

Fast charge only works with "Fast Charge" power adapters. Not with battery packs. Its mean to increase your voltage to 12V from the usual 3.7-5V This technology its only exclusive to some Samsung chargers. Look on the side to see if its got the "Fast Charger" logo and legend.

You didnt read enough on the other thread
So on post 14 of this thread there is a link to another thread.
On that thread read post 405. He managed to get back 100% charge just please take not that he has an exynos model so you will need the proper files for your model - very important!
The guy in post 15 here has a verizon model and confirmed that for snapdragons that method works
There is no mention of root...i have no idea what your reading?

My apologies, didn't think you would be so sensitive as I was only joking. The user on post 405 has an Exynos model and pushed an AP file via Odin, which I also tried and was previosuly semi-bricked. The gentleman a few posts ago said he had success and has my exact model, which is why I directed my question to him. I appreciate your concern and efforts though.

Tmobile Note 2 Bugs/Fixes

I know this is gonna happen so let us start it now. The first issue I've run into with my Note 2. I was listening to music via Google Music and I plugged into power source and music started skipping; when I unplugged it began to work normal again....any suggestions?
The first problem I noticed is that there is a typo on the phone battery cavity. It says 1300 mAh and it should read 3100

Why is ther no support for FM radio on the TMobile version according to Engadget ( link: http://www.engadget.com/update/samsung-galaxy-note-ii-usa/ )
so with my music issue what I did was unplug and replug a few times to get it to stop skipping. I'm currently listening with no issue I haven't tried to recreate anything in fear of skipping music again. I will plug in and give it a whirl when I get home to see if it skips ..... if it doesn't then I'll just mark it down as weirdness

My international note says that too.
3.8V - 1300 mA.
So that means the fastest charging current is 1.3A? 3.5/1.3 = 2.7 hours to charge with the best charger?

Ijust don't find the stylus a responsive as my finger sometimes. For example when Web browsing, I can't consistently get the bookmarks icon in the upper right corner of the screen in portrait orientation screen to consistently register when using the stylus. It works every time when I use my finger.
They said the tip of the stylus is rubbery, but when it taps the screen it clicks like it's made of plastic. I've never used the stylus for the first note but when they said rubber tip I was expecting it to be rubbery like an eraser but it still feels plasticy

Samsung has a track record of not including FM Radio on the US release of their phones. Not sure why that is. The One Series from HTC have them.

Well your not too far off... I went to the store on Alpine in Grand Rapids and they had 3 Titanium in stock and they said the Samsung rep just left and he also told them that they most likely will not see any other storage configurations... That would blow... Gimme a 32gb!! I was the 1st person from that store to call about a Note 2 and was the first one to pick one up and that was at 12:30 this afternoon so the demand seems kinda low since they only had 3 and they still had all three after noon! I am the 100% 1st certified 'GEEK" to walk outta that store with a big smile...

Ya I used to work at Sprint years ago as a technician but now, with most of all service centers closed down, they just give you a refurb instead of bothering with getting it fixed... It was good while it lasted but, as you know, the economy is not very well over here... :crying:

I'm on tapa talk so I can't see your sig, but I'm assuming that it says that you need to do a hardware hack.
People unless you see tmobile or t889 it's not going to work. The tmobile version of the note 2 is missing a little chip that allows wireless for some reason. Unless there is a software workaround that hasn't been pushed wireless is a no go.
So if I do the mod, I can just buy one of those $15 coil pads and it'll work for palm pre and Qi chargers or no?

Don't think so. From what I gather, T-Mobile version of note has contacts, but they don't do anything. Wonder if there's a way to go around that. Like solder a wire or something. but I doubt it.

You'll be fine, last time I hold a soldering iron is like 20 years ago, my hand a bit shaky now, and I did it just fine. Just be careful when prying the phone open, there are 2 clips behind the battery spot top and bottom.
hmm
I was tempted to do this. Worried about messing up tho.
I actually just bought an at&t gn2 specifically because of the wireless charging issues on the t889. I'll have to hack it a little, but my understanding is all frewquinciesnshould work just as well as on the T-Mobile gn2.

One-click root method working?

How much did it cost? No one is going to remote in and root your phone for you free of charge. Whether they had you pay in actual currency, or had you install software that included malware.

You have to be insanely stupid to install that malware and give some stranger remote access to your phone and computer, AND pay $40. If anyone actually does this they deserve to have their phone taken away and given an iPhone.
Yeah and for your information I am not insanely stupid because I did not do it
I asked them about the one click root for Lg4 h815 and they told me has to be done manually for $39.95
So that's why i know the price OK?

It is fake. Currently there is NO One-Click Root method for our G4.
In all honesty though the "low effort" method is so easy and quick (less than 5 minutes, seriously it only takes a few seconds once you have all the files you need) that I do not even see the point or need in making a One Click method for it.
The one click method works but yes one needs to give them access so they do the root for you. Yes 40 bucks is steep price. I am guilty as charged for having paid the amount. I am in no way a noob. Been rooting since the g1. But this time I had to for I have a Mac and all done through a virtual machine.

Who's Thinking Of Getting This Phone?

Hiya folks. I've had Xperia phones since 2010 and I'm thinking of replacing my broken Z3c with an XA1. However I really don't want to be tied into a 2 year contract for a handset that's unsupported.
So I was just wondering..I know it's early days..but is anybody else thinking of getting one of these?
If you're browsing this forum and considering a purchase, reply and let me know! :good:

I'm really curious with this phone. Instead of mediatek processor, do you ever experience any lag/error during multitasking? And I wonder how long this 2.300 ma power battery can stand for a day. Maybe you can share your screen on time with list of applications installed.

Hello, could you confirm one exciting feature of android 7 (atleast for me) that it works on this phone software.
As of Android 7.0 phone can read 2G/3G/LTE frequency without ROOT. Easiest way is to install app Cellmapper(mapping cell towers to map) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cellmapper.net.cellmapper
Could anyone run this app(enable "Use new Android 4.2 Cell ID API" in settings) and post screenshot while connected to LTE only or 3G when 4G not available(no wifi)? Also, maybe send debug report from settings menu to developer([email protected]) with screenshot.
Thank you

Well, I've got this phone now. Got it this afternoon. Initial impressions are good. Yes it's not a powerhouse but, for a mid range device, it's really not bad.
Hopefully I can get it rooted soon then I can mod the hell out of it.

I've had it less than a day so I can't really comment. But I haven't noticed any significant battery issues so far. I've come from the Z3 Compact and this seems to do everything I need it to do at the moment. The sound is good, picture quality is decent (yes, it's not full HD or whatever but it's a phone..if I really need amazing picture quality on my videos I'll use my TV) and the battery seems okay.
Like everything, it depends what you're using it for. If you spend your whole day playing Pokémon Go at full brightness while listening to music, your battery is going to be annihilated..
Engineering mode
Did anybody try engineering mode?

From engineering mode, I'd like to see which LTE bands are supported.
Please screenshot it

Is it possible in the future for a stereo speaker mod to be made?

Not working. All those apps say the chipset isn't recognised.

M Pen for AL00 CN version?

I've taken the plunge and ordered the CN version. When shopping for an M pen I came across a couple of sellers with pens that they say are only for the Chinese version.
Is this true? Do I need a different M pen just because it's the Chinese version and not international?
Thanks
Joe

According to the customer q&a section in this Amazon listing https://www.amazon.com/Huawei-M-Pen-Mate-EVR-AL00-Gray/dp/B07KBF9Q61 even though some pens are advertised to "only" work with the Chinese EVR-AL00 version, ppl have responded that it works with global EVR-L29 too
Thanks for this clarification. Much appreciated.

the pen works for the mate 20x in general so the version doesnt matter
where did you order your phone from and how much did it cost you ?
Best price was around 617 GBP and is allegedly from Switzerland. God knows really but its a seller with good rep.

well yes at least to me, open box means someone opened it and then i cant be sure if its completely new or user return or sth but factory sealed means you are the first hand to open it since you pay alot of money for it lol
sadly enough, wondamobile and tradingshenzen both open the boxes and when i asked the later for a sealed factory they said we wont give you warranty then
I've only read them opening the boxes to put Google play on it. Which I can understand as it's beyond the skillz of most users to get the 3 apks on and working. But yes I see what you mean. I guess you could tell.be looking at battery charge cycles and stuff as to whether it had been used previously.

And how exactly would you get the battery cycles count on a current Emui device that has been reset? Exactly, you can't.

i wasnt aware of that but good to know and as you can see its best to be the first to open sth you spend lots of money on
I got my AL00 yesterday. It was an unopened box. Lots of Chinese stuff but enough things in English to let me get started.
I added Google Play after some searching around on how to do it. Hopefully all sorted now.
And a pen that was stated to be for the international version works fine with the Chinese one.
