Leaked News:
OUKITEL is starting to work on a new smartphone named U20 Plus with dual camera design on back cover.
This is not the first device that designs two camera lens on the back. Other brands like Huawei, LG, HTC, Apple, Xiaomi already released some smartphones with dual rear cameras. OUKITEL is also joining this field to build dual rear cameras smartphones, but with most cost-effective price.
The model is named as U20 Plus, it will pack dual lens on the back, the main rear camera is powered by a 13.0MP (interpolated to 16MP) Sony IMX135 sensor. Combining superior hardware and optimized software with dual lenses, the U20 Plus will offer DSLR experience with more light and better clarity.
U20 Plus also offers the latest fingerprint sensor. Except for improving the unlock speed, OUKITEL will also pre-install more functionalities for fingerprint. It will divide long press fingerprint function and single tap fingerprint function.
A good camera ensures great photo and video quality, it would be more exciting if the display can show it in a perfect way. For showing the best effect, U20 Plus will get a 5.5 inch FHD display with 1080p resolution and adopting original SHARP glass for screen.
U20 Plus is planned to go to market at end of this month, and will be officially on www.oukitel.com next week.[/url]

Last week OUKITEL stated that they are releasing a new smartphone named U20 Plus with dual rear camera. Here comes more information about this new promising smartphone.
The most important feature of this device is the camera. It will pack dual-lens on the back with the main camera processing imaging and the secondary camera recording the image data, providing SLR shooting experience. The most obvious photo effect is that it will highlight the theme and blur background.
The main rear camera is adopting an original Sony IMX135 sensor. Originally it was planned to do 13MP mega pixels and interpolated to 16MP in software, but according to research among consumers, it's better to not use interpolation (finally). So this time U20 Plus will feature real 13MP Sony IMX135 camera and 5MP front camera, no interpolation.
Big battery is surely important for batter enjoy the device. U20 Plus will get 3300mAh big battery from SCUD with intelligent power consumption management.
According to OUKITEL sales team, U20 Plus will be the most cost-effective dual-lens smartphone. Presale is starts from this week.
Authorized stores will be listed on OUKITEL official website www.oukitel.com.
Below are main specs for U20 Plus:

How to distinguish a real dual-lens camera and a fake dual-lens camera
Recently many brands like Huawei, LG, HTC, Apple, Xiaomi and others already released several smartphones with dual rear cameras. Other manufacturers are also following their steps to produce dual-lens cameras. The produced photo effect is surely great if you use a dual-lens camera because it can reach the levels of a SLR camera.
When we choose it, we need to be sure that it's a real one. But how do we distinguish it then? Here is the way.
Working principle: main camera processes the image, the secondary camera handles the image data. Frankly speaking, the main camera is for taking photos and secondary camera is for handling the photo effects like blur background, deduce noise, etc...
Difference between a real dual-lens camera and fake dual-lens:
a. Among Mediatek chipsets, only chipsets above MT6737T can support two cameras working at same time, so if the device has an MT6737 (not T) processor, then it can't support it.
b. The fastest way to judge: cover the secondary camera, the blur effect will disappear for a real dual-lens camera.
c. The dual lens will both open when working
All specs of U20 Plus have been added to the first post attached. More details can be found on OUKITEL official page.
Another great news is that U20 Plus already started wide pre-sale flash sale on OUKITEL Authorized Stores.

Someone say that the U20 Plus design looks like iPhone 7 plus, but if you see it clearly, you will find that they are different.
See the first video about the appearance design of U20 Plus below. At first sight, it indeed has the iPhone style because both of them design the dual-lens camera on the top left and both of them getting rounded back cover.
U20 Plus gets 3 colors: grey, champagne gold, rose gold. According to OUKITEL product team, they will most probably make a Jet Black color that is the same as the iPhone 7 Plus Jet Black. But, it will come later compared to the first 3 colors.
As already said, it features a dual-lens rear camera, and the main camera is Sony IMX135 (13MP) sensor, here ( https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B7cZ8nZJjxovaGUxY1dtT3VHQ3c?usp=sharing ) you can see several photos taken by U20 Plus. Notice the blurred background.
U20 Plus gets a 3300mAh big battery, but it is only 8.4mm for the body. Though the back cover is not metal, polycarbonated instead, the back cover should give you a wonderful hand feel.
U20 Plus is still on pre-sale for the moment, with flash sale. Authorized Stores can be found on OUKITEL Official website.

OUKITEL said that the final software is confirmed and real photos taken by the U20 Plus are now available.
In the video, they took photos in outside, in a room and during the night. They also compared the photos taken in normal photo mode and SLR mode. At the end, they took a short video of an aquarium. YouTube Default Compression has been used so it might be a bit better in real-life.
As already said many times, the U20 Plus has a dual-lens rear camera, with a 13MP Sony IMX135 primary sensor while the secondary rear camera is only 0.3MP, required to adjust the SLR effect. It also features a 5.5 inches FHD display from SHARP.
OUKITEL said that the U20 Plus is on mass-production starting from this week, if there is no issues, next week they will start normal shipments. Consumers who already pre-ordered will get it soon. Also, the Pre-Sale flash sale is still running in some stores, but in limited quantity.

OUKITEL has reworked the design of the U20 Plus smartphone, planning to add the popular Jet Black color version, which is the biggest change and totally different exterior color from all the old models.
Jet black back cover is glossy. The glossy surface is achieved by running the device through a complicated process required to achieve the stunning perfect glossy appearance and to produce a mirror-like effect. As far as we know, all the specs and features are the same with the other 3 colors variants.
The Jet Black color will go on pre-sale online by the end of this month. According to latest news from the OUKITEL's factory, they have already started producing champagne gold version on the 7th of December. Regarding the date for the other 2 colors, we will update it soon.
So, which one would you rather get? Jet Black, Gray, Rose Gold or Champagne Gold? Just post it here if you want.

OUKITEL U20 Plus Vs. Xiaomi Mi5S Plus Vs. iPhone 7 Plus - specs comparison
As we known, OUKITEL U20 Plus, Xiaomi Mi5S Plus and iPhone 7 Plus, all are the new products in 2016 that used the double camera module for an high quality shoot. Regarding which one is the best choice, check out this specs comparison.
For those who are planning to buy a new smartphone for the new year (2017), just comparing the pricing, the OUKITEL U20 Plus will not burn a hole in your pocket.

Great device - just ordered the Gray version.

Here unboxing video from me.

Introduction
This is the OUKITEL U20 Plus.
Hardware
This device is powered by a Mediatek MT6737T SOC clocked at 1.44GHz, the Full-HD capable variant of the MT6737 (standard variant supports maximum HD), together with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. Unlike any other previous OUKITEL device, this features a Dual-Camera configuration, made of a 13MP rear main camera and 0.3MP rear secondary camera. Nothing special for the front camera, just a classic 5MP camera.
Unboxing
Packaging comes with some accessories: 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/1A USB Charger, 1x Quick Start Guide, 1x Warranty Certificate, 1x TPU Cover and the Smartphone (of course). A screen protector is already applied (mine was scratched so you won't see it here).
This is the second device i review from OUKITEL using an Unibody Plastic Chassis and it feels pretty solid (not superb, it is still plastic), much better compared to the U7 Plus (same type of chassis). Something i do not like at all is the position of Volume/Power Keys, they are on the left side of the device.
It is 15.39x7.75x0.85cm, as big as the U7 Plus, with medium bezels. As regards its weight, well it is heavy considering the type of chassis. 193g are a bit too much.
On the front side there is the usual 2.5D Curved Display and the upper front side of the device features a Front-Facing Camera, an Earpiece, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. A Notification LED is here, but it only supports one color: green.
On the lower front side there is the Touch Keys area, with Menu, Home and Back touch buttons.
On the back side there is the unibody chassis, just like the U7 Plus.
The upper rear side of the device features the Dual-Camera Sensors supported by a single rounded Flashlight, and the compact, rounded, Fingerprint Scanner.
On the lower rear side there is just the OUKITEL logo because the Speaker is placed near the Micro-USB port.
Device
Screen
The screen is great, probably the best Full HD screen i have ever tried on a OUKITEL device. Color Temperature is slightly high, but not too much, and everything else is just fine.
Light Sensor supports smooth light changes, this is its maximum brightness. Ok, this isn't the brightest screen you can find on a device, but it is bright enough for any kind of usage.
Viewing Angles are good, just like on all IPS screens, nothing to complain here.
Camera
First of all i am not a professional photographer so my photos might look a bit messy, i do not know how to handle this Dual Camera system properly.
Photos taken using the standard photo mode are good, the usual noise level is here, but every single photos looks pretty detailed. The old Sony IMX135 (13MP) sensor still works great.
"HDR off" on the left and "HDR on" on the right.
Here you can see some photos taken using the SLR feature, "Standard" on the left and "SLR" on the right.
Flashlight is powerful enough, but sometimes it seems to be a bit too warm making photos look a bit yellow, just like my glove here.
Macro Photos look great, detailed and with vibrant colors.
As regards Video Recording, the camera is able to record 1080p Videos at 30FPS, and the quality is decent. Check my sample here.
Front Camera is not great, but neither too bad (GalaxyCore GC5005). Sufficient for Video Chats. It seems to be a Wide-Angle variant though. Here you can see a cat-selfie.
Audio
Starting from the Speaker, its volume isn't super-high and lacks low frequencies. Unfortunately this is something common with OUKITEL devices. (except the C3 and C4)
As regards the Microphone, it works great in any case (in-call, VOIP, etc...), and the earpiece is loud and clear.
GPS
The GPS on this device confuses me. Ok, it was cloudy when i have tested it (check this photo) but it is weird to see that outdoors is able to lock many satellites (just like all OUKITEL devices), while indoors it isn't able to see any. I don't know how to evaluate this result.
Weather Photo
Indoors on the left, outdoors on the right.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Thanks to the 4G Band 20 support (some other Chinese Smartphones don’t have it), I’m almost always and everywhere connected to the 4G Network of my Mobile Network Provider (TIM Italy).
4G Network Speed is sufficient, it highly depends on your Mobile Operator and mine isn’t pretty good.
WiFi 5GHz is supported here, and its speed mediocre. Something that impressed me is the ping, lower than my Desktop PC.
Battery Life
I have measured the real battery capacity using my USB Tester, and it seems that the real battery capacity is a bit higher than the declared one. (declared 3300mAh, real ~3350mAh).
This is the Geekbench Battery Test, somehow the battery runtime is low, definitely not acceptable for a 3300mAh battery. I assume this is a software issue, so i hope to see some improvements with an OTA Update.
https://browser.primatelabs.com/battery3/393303
As regards battery charging times, the 5V/1A charger is pretty slow to charge this big battery, almost 3 hours. I don't know why, but OUKITEL doesn't seem to like fast chargers.
Software
Just like almost all OUKITEL devices, also this one uses a clean Android 6.0 OS with some minor customizations. I know, it doesn't have Nougat, but OUKITEL has already planned the update so don't worry about it. Anyway, it runs smoother than other 2GB RAM devices i have tested, this MT6737T CPU is great.
MiraVision is here, together with other Mediatek Features such as Smart Gestures (double tap-to-wake, etc...)
There is no Gyroscope or Magnetometer even though the software doesn't think so.
As regards the Fingerprint Scanner management, it is pretty easy to configure, pretty fast unlock times with almost no issues with its accuracy.
As you may notice, the fingerprint settings menu is full of nice options. Interesting additions compared to previous OUKITEL devices.

Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 3, GFXBench, PCMark (Work 2.0, Computer Vision, Storage & Work 1.0) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – GPU Performance is interesting, compared to the MT6737M it is an huge improvement.
AndroBench – Mediocre eMMC Performance, Write Speed is lower than average.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – 3D Performance is a bit low, the Full HD screen isn't easy to handle.
GeekBench – CPU Performance is nearly as good as other CPUs with the same configuration (8x Cortex-A53), i would have expected an higher single core score.
CPU
Compute
GFXBench – GPU Performance isn't superb as regards OpenGL 3 tests, but decent for OpenGL 2.
PCMark – Compared to the MT6737M, this is an huge upgrade.
Work 2.0
Computer Vision
Storage
Work 1.0
Vellamo – I might have expected some higher scores here, just sufficient.
Luckily this MT6737T CPU seems to be the real alternative for low-end devices, it isn't as laggy as MT6737M, and is able to handle almost everything without major issues.
Conclusions
Surprisingly balanced device from OUKITEL, i'm not saying that the Dual-Camera is useful or not, but the device itself, with a great display, snappy user experience and fast enough CPU/GPU, makes it balanced.
I consider this Dual-Camera feature an extra that is good to have (for those who like it), and it works great even though i still have to test other devices with the same feature so i can't tell you if it is working better or not than others.
So, do I recommend it? Currently it isn't possible to find any other device that is able to beat this for the same price, so the answer is pretty clear. Yes!
Pros:
Dual-Camera Design
Good Camera Quality
Great Screen Quality
Decent Fingerprint Sensor
Best CPU/GPU Price-Performance Ratio
Surprisingly Cheap
Cons:
Screen Brightness might have been better
GPS Signal is weird, great outdoors, poor indoors
Single-Color Notification LED
Battery Life lower than average
Heavy for a Plastic Unibody Chassis

Super easy to root as soon as someone creates a full-working TWRP recovery.
And you're welcome, if there is anything missing in the review just tell me.

Hello,
I have the phone for 10 days,
It is of good quality, I am happy to use it. I just had a problem on the front camera that no longer works. I think it's a software problem because the front works well and when I want to use the front camera I have a black screen. I would like to reinstall the firmware but for now I do not find it.
Thanks for your review

OUKITEL U20 Plus features a dual-lens rear camera and has been on sale for a while, now we have got a tear down video to see what's inside the body.

Hello,
Nobody knows when will be able to download the firmware ?

Here it is: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/oukitel-u20-plus-development-support-t3539706

Thank you very much,
I will try to install it to repair the front camera
I keep you informed

Hi all,
Got mine a few hours ago from Gearbest, because I thought that at 90€ it was a decent price.
I then chose DHL delivery because for only 6.50€ I could have it from 1 to 7 days.
Big mistake, I didn't knew DHL was passing all the packages to the customs, taking 15€ too, so I had to pay 29€ in taxes in total at delivery...Which is way less interresting at 90+6.50+29=125.50€ :crying:
Anyway, here's my 1st impressions :
The thing is ****ing heavy for a plastic phone !
Good point is it has a silicon cover on it, bad point is it seems to have a very weak signal strenght, mostly the GPS signal :/
Charger is damn slow, it's written 1000mA on it, but I won't be surprised if it's only 800mA...
Last point from my tests : can anyone confirm that this phone can't do nothing in VR ? I tried VR games, Youtube 360 vids, nothing is moving when I move the phone
For now, i won't advise this phone, the only good thing is the screen to me (oh, I forgot : the protective film is shorter than the screen, which is pretty frustrating when you slide your finger from border to center of the 2.5D screen...).

Different sources state different things. But it seems this device doesn't have a gyroscope hence VR isn't possible (or at least not traditional VR). For clarification simply test which sensors your phone has by using Sensor Box for Android (or whichever sensor recognizing app you prefer): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=imoblife.androidsensorbox&hl=en

True, let's hope that there will be a decent CPU here. They say "octa-core", it might be an MT6750, MT6750T, Helio P10 or Helio P20.
OUKITEL is challenging to build a real full metal body like iPhone 6S Plus for U13 Pro
In the recent years, the use of metal to build the body in smartphones isn't new. But not all the smartphone brands can build full metal smartphones. A smartphone with metal body gets a better hand feel, visual effect, stronger tensile strength, crush resistance and bending resistance than plastic.
Though many devices announced that they are full metal device, it comes out to be metal in the most central part of the back, while the parts on the head and bottom are plastic. Manufacturers designed the combination of metal and plastic because it’s really hard to adjust the antenna with a full metal body. If the antenna is not adjusted correctly, the signal of the device would be deadly affected.
Until now, only a few brands like Apple, HTC already break through the technology and made full metal smartphones. However, OUKITEL is challenging to make its new flagship U13 Pro to be a full metal device. Similar, but not exactly, like the design of the iPhone 6S Plus, U13 Pro features three segment design. Except the nano-molding-injection line (section B&D) for receiving signals, all the other parts (section A,C,E) are aircraft grade aluminum alloy. Aluminum alloy ensures the light weight of U13 Pro, only 156.7g for the device.
According OUKITEL’s product manager, OUKITEL is cooperating with 6 top antenna manufacturers to break through this technology and make U13 Pro a full metal smartphone.
Previously OUKITEL leaked the OUKITEL U13 Pro with full metal body, 3GB RAM and 64GB ROM, here comes the latest news about this model.
The model name will be changed to U13, but all the specs and design will stay the same. It is still a 5.5 inch FHD flagship device with full metal
designed slim body. Flash memory still runs 3GB RAM and 64GB ROM.
What's new is that the chipset has confirmed, it will carry the MT6753 Octa-Core Cortex A53 1.3GHz processor and run Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
As regards the camera, there will be a 13 mega-pixels front-facing camera and 16 mega-pixels main camera with dual-tone LED flash.
U13 also gets a fingerprint sensor and OUKITEL will also add more functions such as taking photos, answer phone calls, link to specific fingers to the fingerprint sensor too.
Product dimensions: 149*75.6*8.1mm, and due to the aluminum alloy metal nature, it only weighs 156.7g.
Estimated time for U13 to go to market is middle October.
Have you ever meet the situation where you can't find the remote control when you want to switch the TV's channel, or you want to adjust the temperature of your air conditioner when you are already in bed but the remote control is not near you? You might use your mobile phone as a remote control, if your device supports it.
OUKITEL recently started to work on the U13 which has an infrared sensor on the top that can be used as a remote control for TV, Air conditioner, fan, Box, DVD, projector and even light.
Below are listed the steps required to make it as a remote control
1. Open the remote control APP;
2. tap "Add remote" to add your remote control (needs wifi connection or mobile data connection);
3. choose the device that you want to add (TV/Air condition/DVD/Projector..etc) and choose your TV or air condition brand;
4. Aim the infrared sensor of U13 to your TV or air condition receiver, and test whether it reacts to your action (TV volume, AC temperature or such), if it reacts, you can save the controler now. Next time, when you want to use it, just open it and find your controller. It is exactly like a real controller, no need to add a new controller again.
What's more, you can combine different controllers to one U13, set several remote control on it for different devices.
OUKITEL just released a smartphone U20 Plus with dual-lens rear camera and it already started delivery this week. Here comes a new news that they are starting to work on a full-metal device, the U13 again.
Infact, OUKITEL already announced some information about U13 from July, but due to some reasons, they delayed this project. Now according to a trusted source, the OUKITEL U13 is coming soon. Mass-production is already planned for this month.
As we already know, the OUKITEL U13 is designed to be full metal on the back cover, including the top and bottom parts. Though many devices announced that they are full metal device, it comes out to be metal in the most central part of the back, while the parts on the head and bottom are plastic because of the antenna signal requirements. Few manufacturers are holding the full metal tech now. But this tech will make the battery back to be a whole uni-body, enhancing the visual effect as well as hand feel.
On the front of U13, it is getting a 5.5 inch FHD display with 2.5D curved craft. On the top head of front, there is an infrared sensor, allowing U13 to be a remote controller.
According to OUKITEL, the U13 will get a 13MP back camera which will be interpolated to 16MP in software and an 8MP front camera which will be interpolated to 13MP in software. Together with the 1080p FHD screen, it will surely show great photos and videos effect on U13. It will spec a Octa-core chipset, 3GB RAM and 64GB ROM. More information will be released on OUKITEL official website soon.
Introduction
This is the OUKITEL U13.
Hardware
This device is still powered by the pretty old, but rocking stable, Mediatek MT6753 SOC clocked at 1.3GHz, maybe an MT6753T or MT6750 would have been better to handle a Full HD screen. It features 3GB of RAM, 64GB of ROM (unlike other OUKITEL devices) and a 13MP Rear Camera, unfortunately interpolated to 16MP.
Unboxing
Packaging comes with basic accessories, just like all OUKITEL devices: 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/1A USB Charger, 1x Quick Start Guide, 1x Warranty Certificate, 1x SIM Card Tray Eject Tool, 1x TPU Cover and the Smartphone (of course). A screen protector is already applied.
Being one of the latest devices from OUKITEL featuring an Unibody Metal Chassis, it feels solid, lighter compared to predecessors and with a pretty nice design. Something that i do not like is the position of Volume/Power Keys, on the left (just like the U20 Plus). I do not understand this choice sincerely.
It is 14.93x7.58x0.87cm, pretty common size, nothing to complain about it. It weights 168g, considering the Unibody Metal Chassis this is just fine.
On the front side there is the common 2.5D Curved Display and the upper front side of the device features the standard set of things: a Front-Facing Camera, an Earpiece, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. Is the Notification LED here? Yes, it is. (RGB)
Luckily the notification LED is pretty bright, and also barely customizable. Check the software paragraph to know more.
The lower front side is completely empty, on-screen touch keys are used here.
On the back side there is the Unibody Metal Chassis.
The upper rear side of the device features the Camera Sensor supported by a Dual-LED Flashlight (not Dual-Tone), and the not-so-compact, but rounded, Fingerprint Scanner.
On the lower rear side there is just the OUKITEL logo, the Speaker is positioned on the lower side of the device.
Device
Screen
Compared to other devices, the screen is probably the best one i have ever tried on a OUKITEL device, with great color accuracy, decent white balance and enough brightness.
Light Sensor supports smooth light changes, this is its maximum brightness.
Viewing Angles are as good as you would expect from an IPS screen.
Camera
This is the second device (U15 Pro had it too) i try with an OnSemi AR1337 13MP Sensor, that should feature PDAF and great image quality. Well, compared to the previous device featuring the same sensor, this one has much better photo quality, but there is also something worse. Macro Photos can't be taken at all, this is probably a wrong auto-focus calibration that might be fixed with an OTA Update.
"HDR off" on the left and "HDR on" on the right. HDR photos are just brighter, no real HDR. (just like on almost all MTK devices)
Photos taken on medium light conditions are decent.
Macro Photos, as already said, are not so great.
As regards the Flashlight, it is sufficiently powerful to take some nice shots indoors, but not enough for outdoor shots.
As regards Video Recording, 1080p videos are decent, with mediocre framerate. (some frame drops here and there)
Front Camera is a Superb Wide-Angle variant OmniVision OV8859 (8MP), that manages to take some great shots.
Audio
Speaker's Quality on this device is average, not too bad but neither superb, a small amount of low frequencies is here though.
As regards the Microphone, this is what seem to have some issues, at least on my device. There is a slight buzzing noise in the background, pretty noticeable while recording at low dBs. In-call Quality is good, still featuring this noise but the earpiece is as good as on all OUKITEL devices.
GPS
Just like all MT6753 devices, the GPS is good with almost instant satellites lock and decent signal.
Indoors on the left, outdoors on the right.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
NOTE: If you see "WIND" (Operator Name) on some screenshots, that's my secondary SIM with no Mobile Data, Signal and Speed Tests are made using my Primary SIM Card. This is used only for minor tests.
OUKITEL provides full european bands support, with 4G Band 20 (some other Chinese Smartphones don’t have it).
3G Signal Reception is accurate too, actually I never managed to get connected to the 2G Network of my Mobile Operator because there was always some 3G Signal available. (luckily there are no coverage issues here)
4G Network Speed is average, even though it highly depends on your Mobile Operator and mine isn’t pretty good.
Somehow WiFi 5GHz is not supported here. Connected at 65MBps to my 2.4GHz network, i managed to obtain a maximum of 33mbps, with medium-high signal.
Battery Life
I have measured the real battery capacity using my USB Tester, and it seems that the real battery capacity is lower compared to what OUKITEL declares. (declared 3000mAh, real ~2830mAh). This is the first OUKITEL device with this "issue", so it might be just my review unit.
This is the PCMark Battery Test. Minimum Brightness, WiFi On, SIM Card Inserted and Active. As expected, its lower battery capacity reduces the battery runtime. Unfortunately i managed to lose the result but here you can see the battery stats. 3 hours and 41 minutes, lower than average.
As regards battery charging times, the 5V/1A charger isn't pretty good to handle 3000mAh batteries so expect more than 2 hours of Charging Time.
Software
As always, all OUKITEL devices feature an almost completely clean Android 6.0 release providing a buttery smooth experience in almost all menus and apps, similar to Nexus/Pixel devices, even though there is some Mediatek stuff here.
Just like other last-gen Mediatek Devices, there are some typical features such as Gestures, Scheduled Power On/Off, etc…
Unfortunately, just like on ALL OUKITEL devices, there is no Compass/Magnetometer neither Gyroscope sensors. I have already gave to OUKITEL the advice to add at least the Compass Sensor on future devices, let's hope that they will hear it.
Mediatek's Notification LED implementation doesn't allow to change any pre-defined color, but at least you can disable/enable the LED for some activities.
The Fingerprint Scanner can be initialized as easy as on all Android 6.0 devices, and its accuracy is great, with pretty fast unlock times.
Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 4, GFXBench, PCMark (Work 2.0, Computer Vision, Storage & Work 1.0) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – GPU Performance is pretty low due to the Full-HD screen, so this MT6753 is stressed to the max.
AndroBench – eMMC Performance is superb, comparable with high-end devices.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – 3D performance is just sufficient to reach 30fps.
GeekBench – CPU Performance is nearly as good as other CPUs with the same configuration (8x Cortex-A53), multi-core score is impressive though.
CPU
Compute
GFXBench – Well OpenGL 3.0 benchmarks are pretty intensive, and this is where an outdated GPU lacks power. OpenGL 2.0 tests provide better results though, still better than MT6737 with bugged GPU performance.
PCMark – Standard MT6753 Performance here, with some extra performance.
Work 2.0
Computer Vision
Storage
Work 1.0
Vellamo – Unlike previous tests, there are no major performance gains compared to other MT6753 devices.
Conclusions
Sincerely i don't have many words for this paragraph this time, i have tested so many similar devices from OUKITEL in the last few months and, except the U15S that disappointed me completely, i had no really negative words to describe something that i didn't liked about the device, and this is one is no exception. I may consider OUKITEL the Xiaomi of the Mediatek World, with unbeatable price-quality ratio.
So, do I recommend it? Yes, it is hard to find something better for the same price.
Pros:
Acceptable Screen Brightness
Accurate Fingerprint Sensor
Impressive 64GB eMMC Internal Storage
Good Back/Front Cameras
RGB Notification LED
Cons:
Back Camera isn't able to shot decent macro photos
No Compass/Gyroscope Sensors
Missing MiraVision Menu
No Fast Charging Support
MT6753...just outdated nowadays

Water-Proof Test of the DOOGEE T5
DOOGEE T5 is the world’s first smartphone that combines the DIY style with 3-proofing. The Rugged Nature and Exchangeable Style, makes you have more choices basing on the environment's appearance and style.
They made a water-proof test (IP67 protection). If it resists, it means surviving in the harsh outdoor environment is not a problem.
Website: http://www.doogee.cc
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/doogee.cc
Twitter: https://twitter.com/DOOGEE_official

IP67 Protection, what does it mean?
DOOGEE has labeled the T5 with IP67 Certification so to understand its level of water resistance we need to check what IP67 certification means. The certification system is administered by the International Electrotechnical Commission and can be broken down as follows:
IP stands for Ingress Protection
- The first digit is on a scale of 0 to 6 and represents the level of dust protection the device offers (higher numbers are better)
- The second digit is on a scale of 0 to 9 and represents the level of water protection the device offers (higher numbers are better)
Based on this scale (and according to the IEC), the DOOGEE T5 should offer full dust protection and water protection when submerged in up to 1 meter of water for a 30 minute duration.
Considering its Rugged design, i would expect even better protection from this smartphone, but is has been certified as IP67 so any other test that doesn't meet this spec. then it would be at your own risk.
Also, for those who are interested, the DG700 (practically the device on which the T5 is based on) is now even more discounted than before (because its successor is near the door), but this is a limit offer until this weekend.
The DOOGEE T5 is kind of upgraded version of the DG700, which also combined the 3-proofing with the similar luxury appearance. The back cover has two choices, the crocodile texture calfskin and lambskin.
This is the DOOGEE DG700 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/doogee-titans-2-dg700-unboxing-hands-t2953664
If you can’t wait for the T5, you can buy a DG700 first because that's still a good device that shares many features.
Giveaway from DOOGEE!

DOOGEE is waiting for your creative slogan for T5. The slogan can be humorous or poetic, but brief. They will giveaway 3 different gifts (one is the T5).
Follow the FB link and write your slogan
Time Limit: July 29 - August 14 (2016 of course)
Finally it is Official!
The DOOGEE T5 will be launched on the 15th of August on DOOGEE's Official Website, where there will be a voting activity with the theme "The businessport phone, which style would you like?". Anyone can vote by choosing the Business T5 or the Sporty T5.
As a first round, it will be available on all official licensed stores, that can be found on the DOOGEE's website, then it will be also available on eBay & Amazon starting from mid-September.
Features:
Dual Style & IP67
The DOOGEE T5 is the world's first phone that combines dual appearance with IP67. It provides two appearances to be changed in seconds, and the relevant UI as well. Reaching IP67 rate, it means that it proofs water, dust and pressure.
13Mpix with PDAF, a Flagship Camera
Normal tri-proof phones do not perform well as regards photo quality, except the DOOGEE T5. 13Mpix Samsung Rear Camera with PDAF and 5Mpix Front Camera offer an outstanding shooting experience.
Comparison between DG700 & T5:
The DOOGEE T5 is a kind of upgraded version of the DG700. Compared to the quad-core CPU used in the DG700, the 8x 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 processors of the T5 highly increases the performance.
The DG700 has 5Mpix front camera and 8Mpix rear camera, while the T5 has 5Mpix front camera and 13Mpix rear camera with PDAF.
Compared with the 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM of the DG700, the T5 has 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM, and the 32GB ROM memory can be expanded up to 64GB. You can keep all your stuff.
Last, but not least, compared with the 4000mAh battery of the DG700, the T5 has 4500mAh battery and 5V/2A fast charge.

Notification LED?!
Does this phone have a notification LED?
I've been asking in different forums and even the licensed reseller stores, I still don't have an answer! ... It's still a pre-order item.
I held off buying the Blackview BV6000 because of this issue, no notification LED, how can a manufacturer miss this small, yet purposely vital feature?!

I'll receive it next week so I'll let you know soon, but I think it doesn't have it. Check the DOOGEE video where they tested its waterproof capabilities, in the Settings menu (shown in this video) it should be shown if present.

Charging/charged LED Notification is not in the settings menu, WTF, is this your 1st phone? .... And what does a video testing its waterproofness have to do with my question?

I mean, check that video, they are showing you the Settings Menu after they take the device from Water (i remember that), so check if in that menu there is any kind of indication to the Notification Light or something similar. (unfortunately there isn't a specific menu name, MTK devices are a bit weird about this)
My reply wasn't too clear, but it wasn't neither so hard to understand...someone needs to calm down it seems...
Development & Support thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/doogee-t5-development-support-t3445982
Doogee released a video of production process for T5:
Probably the best spec of this T5 is the IP67 certification and shock proof integrated frame/case:
I got the device some days ago and yeah it is pretty good.
The chassis is pretty well made, Android works extremely smooth and I haven't faced any issue yet with it. Only the back cover management isn't perfect (if you change the cover/style, the UI theme gets automatically changed, but not always).
As usual, I'll provide you a review of the device soon.
Introduction
This is the businessport DOOGEE T5 Review.
Hardware
This device is powered by a Mediatek MT6753 SOC clocked at 1.3GHz, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. It shares the same classic Rear Camera sensor used by the Redmi 3 Pro (13MP Samsung S5K3L8 with PDAF) while the Front Camera sensor is a 5MP OmniVision OV5648. The manufacturer of the Screen isn't known yet, but it is pretty good and super bright. Follow my next paragraphs to know more.
Unboxing
Packaging comes with an huge amount of accessories, including 2 different back covers and frames for Dual Appearance: 1x Plastic Screen Protector, 1x OTG Cable, 1x SIM/MicroSD tray Eject Tool, 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/2A USB Charger, 1x Quick Start Guide, and the Smartphone (of course).
As already said before, you will find 2 appearances in order to customize your Device's Style depending on the environment (or the tastes why not). I'll talk about this in one of the next paragraph.
The device has a Rugged Chassis, that mixes Metal, Plastic and Rubber for the best protection possible. Do not forget that this is IP67 Certified, so you can have fun with it without having to worry about its, and probably yours too, safety.
It feels super solid, the best made device i have ever tried as regards build quality. As certified by DOOGEE, and following IP67 protection, it is water-proof (up to 1 meter), dust-proof and pressure-proof. Let's say it, it is also kid-proof haha.
Being a rugged device you can't expect compact sizes, but it is lighter than another device i have tried some months ago that wasn't rugged (CUBOT H2), so DOOGEE did a great job as regards its build quality.
It is 15.37x7.84x1.37mm (using the Sporty Cover, because that's what i like most) and it weights 223g, again not too much considering that it is rugged.
On the front side there is the Standard Display, no 2.5D or anything similar, with big bezels. The upper front side of the device features a Front-Facing Camera, an Earpiece with a nice Silver Frame, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. No Notification LED is here unfortunately.
On the lower front side there is only the Soft Keys zone, with Menu, Home and Back buttons. As you might notice, on the upper & lower areas of the device there is a Glossy Finiture, that's the block where the ports are hidden just behind.
On the back side it's where the magic happens. Dual Back Covers, and everytime you change the back cover also the UI gets automatically changed. (basically an automatic theme switch)
The upper rear side of the device features the Samsung Camera Sensor supported by a Single (the Quick Start guide says Dual, but i can only see one) Rounded Flash (Single-Tone) configuration, and nothing else.
The lower rear side of the device features the huge speaker hole, that allows the huge internal speaker to output audio at maximum volume.
Device
DIY Instructions/Demostration (T5 Exclusive!)
So, if you are one of my followers you might have noticed this neverseen paragragh in this review. This device explains why. Being the only one that allows you to change between two styles, i thought that a demostration or anything else about it might be interesting for you all.
Starting from the Screwdriver required to handle the whole process, just imagine which type you need. Yes, a T5 Screwdriver haha.
Anyway, as regards the screws there are two used types, with different size. The longest type is used only with the Sporty sides, while the standard/shorter type is used with the Business sides.
My recommendation is to not use the Screwdriver provided in the package, because it isn't good and i managed to destroy it with just a few usages. This is the only negative aspect i have noticed about the kit.
Use your own Screwdriver, and it will provide you best results without having to worry about its safety.
As you might probably think, is it possible to mix the styles? My reply is: YES! This is what a did to my T5. Business Sides with Sporty Back Cover, providing best protection while leaving the sporty design.
If you want to know more info about this paragraph, just leave here a post and i will reply you.
Screen
The screen is pretty good, super bright but there is a small (barely noticeable) backlight bleeding on the left corner.
Light Sensor works pretty well and it supports smooth light changes. This is the maximum screen brightness.
Viewing Angles are perfect, comparable to an AMOLED screen. (excluding the IPS limitations)
Camera
Rear Camera is a pretty good Samsung ISOCELL, so it provides some nice quality photos on almost every condition. More photos (such as outdoor ones) coming soon, i have a cold right now...
Flashlight isn't perfect, but it is pretty powerful. As you can see, it is a just a bit under-positioned compared to the Camera Sensor. It might be an engineering sample issue maybe, i don't know.
As regards Video Recording, 1080p videos (Video Quality – Fine) are recorded with an high level of details, just remember that there is no OIS so you can’t expect stable videos.
Front Camera records decent photos, and it seems to be a wide-angle variant. Selfie-lovers will appreciate it.
Audio
Speaker is how nearly as good as you would expect from a rugged device. Decently-Loud! Well it lacks low-frequencies a bit, it is slightly muffled maybe due to its waterproof protection but its volume is high.
In-Call Quality is near-excellent, finally an earpiece where there isn't the usual low-clarity sound. Loud (maybe also a bit too much), and with good clarity.
As regards the Microphone, it works decently well in any case (in-call, VOIP, etc...).
The Audio Department has been accurately enough designed, so i thank DOOGEE for taking care about this.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Thanks to the 4G Band 20 support (some other Chinese Smartphones don’t have it), I’m almost always and everywhere connected to the 4G Network of my Mobile Network Provider (TIM Italy).
Also 3G Signal Reception is accurate, even though some 3G frequencies are missing, maybe my engineering sample will get other frequencies with an update, who knows.
4G Network Speed is pretty good, it highly depends on your Mobile Operator and mine isn’t pretty good. While 3G Network Speed, is just fine as it should.
WiFi 5GHz isn't supported here, so only 2.4GHz WiFi speed can be tested. I managed to get connected to my network connection at 65mbps, and Speed Tests reached more or less 41mbps.
Battery Life (do not rely on my test)
I have measured the real battery capacity using my USB Tester, and its capacity is a bit lower than declared. Declared 4500mAh, Real ~4310mAh. (190mAh missing, nothing serious).
The Geekbench Battery Test provided some nice results, and the software used on my device isn't 100% ready-to-use so will probably get even better with next updates.
https://browser.primatelabs.com/battery3/383660
Software
The Software is completely clean, with an almost complete Nexus-like experience. As all latest devices, it is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with some minor customizations and some extra-apps installed such as "Bagan Keyboard", "Xender", "Documents to Go" and "Parallel Space". Don't worry though, they can be disabled.
As every DOOGEE device, also this one has the usual Settings App with Black Background. Also, following other Mediatek devices, Gestures are here.
The Theme Management is easy to use, just go to the Wallpaper Chooser and you will be redirected to the Themes app. Useful if you want to switch between the Business & Sporty UIs without having to worry about the installed back cover.
Also, there is a Magnetometer/Compass here, but lacks a Gyroscope & Barometer.
There isn't anything else special about the software. It runs super smooth thanks to its HD-Only display, always responsive and there are always more than 2 GB of Free RAM on idle.
Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 3, GFXBench, PCMark (Work & Storage) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – GPU Performance is better than other MT6753 devices, but still low on OpenGL 3.0 & 3.1 tests. You can’t expect something better, this is still a mid-range GPU.
Other 3DMark tests can be found on my Imgur album linked at the bottom of the thread.
AndroBench – eMMC Performance is good, especially as regards Reading Speed. Writing Speed isn’t as good as other devices though, maybe it requires a little software update, anyway still high enough to handle almost every task.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – As you can see, 3D performance is pretty high. 3D Games will run with no issues at all.
GeekBench – CPU Performance is nearly as good as other CPUs with the same configuration (8x Cortex-A53), enough to handle almost every type of activity.
PCMark – As you can see, only Writing score is a bit low compared to other scores. Pretty good.
Work
Storage
Even if this device is still running a not-so-new MT6753 CPU, it still performs well and the HD-Only screen helps the GPU to provide best performance everywhere. As i always say, with an MT6753 the HD-Only display works best.
Conclusions
DOOGEE did a great job with this device, probably the only Rugged device that doesn't have an ugly chassis or anything bad. Together with the DIY fun, it confirms that it is also a different device than others. It provides nice performance, great screen quality and a good camera creating a good combination of aspects.
I might have expected a better CPU, but it would have increased its price so it is good as is. Cheap enough, solid and fun.
So, do I recommend it? If you are searching for a Rugged Device, or for a different device that everyone can notice being unique, then Yes! Of course if you are searching for a slim or anything else, then this isn't for you.
Pros:
Super-Bright Screen
Solid and Well-Made
IP67 Certified
Compass/Magnetometer Sensor
DIY Style with 2 Appearances
Nice Camera Quality
Smooth and Lightweight Android OS
RUGGED!
Cons:
Flashlight is a bit under-positioned
Speaker Output is a bit muffled
No Gyroscope & Barometer
No WiFi 5GHz Support

DOOGEE T5 Lite - Lite version of the T5 is coming, at the official price of 100USD
All the features of T5 Lite are same of the T5 that DOOGEE launched on 15th August.
T5 and T5 lite allow users to enjoy DIY fun as their main feature on both device is the dual-appearance. One of the appearance features a crocodile textured back cover and the other one is a sporty PolyCarbonate back cover. Further more, their inner UI automatically changes while the outer shell are replaced.
Although T5 Lite will be sold at only 100USD (Official Price), half of the T5 Price, it still provides the cool and useful IP67 certification, which means that it can proof water, dust and pressure.
The main differences between the models are in the processor, memory and camera departments. The T5 Lite is Quad-Core (maybe MT6735?) with 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM, 5Mpix OmniVision front camera, 8Mpix SONY IMX219 rear camera. Everything else is exactly the same as on the T5.
So, for those for are not searching for such high performance of the T5, a cheaper Lite version will be great.

It will carry MT6750T Octa-core ARM Mali-T860 processor and packs a 13.0MP rear camera which will be interpolated to 16MP. It will still run android 6.0 OS by default, but OUKITEL will most probably cooperate with a developing team to do Android 7.0 for U15S. If it finally succeed, then U15S will be the first MT6750 device to eat Nougat.
Price and delivery time for U15S has not confirmed officially.
@monicawang : there is no need to copy-paste my news.....
As the hot season comes, U15S is also going to market. It's already confirmed that it is getting 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM, while the price is surprising cost-effective.

Being a main trend flagship model with MT6750T chipset, 4GB RAM,32GB ROM and 16MP interpolated camera, U15S will be sold only at $159.99, during presale, flash sale will drop the price to $139.99. Authorized store will be listed on OUKITEL official website.
OUKITEL U15S features a 5.5" FHD display with 1080p resolution made by SHARP. The super thin 7.6 mm body is a combination of 2.5D curved display and Aircraft Aluminum Metal Alloy. It features a MediaTek MT6750T octa-core 64-bit chipset together with 4GB RAM+32GB ROM and 8MP+16MP interpolated camera (real is 5MP + 13MP).
Unlike other OUKITEL devices, on the U15S they decided to customize the operating system to Dido OS (?) which is based on Android 6.0. The Fingerprint Sensor is not only used for unlocking the device but can work also a shutter button to answer phone calls, take photos and pause music or video. The three-keys on the front are virtual keys and can be orientated according to your preferences.
OUKITEL in this video also did an Antutu test to get some interesting scores. The U15S ranks 27th with a score of 42836. Near to other devices with Helio P10, impressive.
U15S is on pre-sale now at the price and a good news is that U15S shipments are planned for the middle of November, users which pre-ordered this device will get it soon.
It seems to be a very good and cheap device!
i'm only concerned about battery capacity... it seems that 2450mAh are very low for the cpu and screen size/resolution..
OUKITEL U15S challenges to run 52 apps with 4GB RAM
It's already known that OUKITEL U15S features 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM, but what you can expect with the big flash memory?
It's mainly reflected by running multi-tasks. For example, with a 2GB RAM smartphone you may only be able to run 25 apps at the same time fluently, but with a 4GB RAM smartphone, you can run more than 50 apps smoothly and no pressure to exchange tasks.
OUKITEL U15S is such a powerful device, now it's challenging to run 52 apps at the same time:
Some new apps have been downloaded before taking the video, including music, maps, social communication APPS, learning APPs, games, shopping apps, news apps, etc. Together with the originally pre-installed apps, U15S opened 52 apps, all opens quite fast with no issues. It also tried to search on a shopping app, and played a game while all the other appications are still in background running. It's seen in the video that there is no block and no delay in handling these APPs.
More information could be checked on OUKITEL official website. Authorized stores are also listed on their official website store page.
Linked to the previous post, also exchanging apps has been tested. No performance loss.
OUKITEL U15S is adding some new features that are not shown on other devices.
On almost all android smartphones, to save a screenshot, you can use three fingers slide down screen or press power key + volume down keys to get a screenshot. But what if the content you want to send is longer than one page? Here on the U15S, you can get a long screenshot of a whole long article. You can save up to 10 pages within one screenshot.
It also supports rectangle screenshot, lasso screenshot, scrawl screenshot and adds a screen record function for you to record your screen.
OUKITEL U15S has been already released, while OUKITEL is redesigning their official page for this device. OUKITEL newly customized the operation system named dido OS which is based on Android 6.0. But re-designing the interface to be simpler, clearer, vivid, and smooth.
The system has been optimized to save power. As regards its performance, the speed rises up to 25% comparing to original system and saves up to 50% power to make the 2700mAh battery lasts longer. The dido OS also allows the calculator to remember your calculate history, more convenient for checking data.
U15S is powered by MT6750T Octa-core 1.5GHz chipset, 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM with 128GB expandable memory. 13MP panasonic camera and 5.5 inch SHARP FHD display for the best visual experience.
Review (part 1)
Introduction
This is the OUKITEL U15s.
Hardware
Being the almost-successor of the OUKITEL U15 Pro, and i say 'almost' because there are some downgrades here, this U15s is powered by a Mediatek MT6750T SOC clocked at 1.5GHz, with a Panasonic 13MP Rear Camera (with no OIS as declared) and a GalaxyCore GC5005 (not OmniVision as declared) 5MP Front Camera. The 5.5" screen is manufactured by SHARP, and i will talk carefully about it in of the next paragraphs because it is a bit messed up.
Unboxing
Packaging comes with basic accessories: 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/1A USB Charger, 1x Quick Start Guide, 1x Warranty Certificate, 1x SIM Card Eject Tool, 1x TPU Cover and the Smartphone (of course). A screen protector is already applied.
This is the first MT6750T device ever released by OUKITEL, and just like the U15 Pro it features an Unibody Metal Chassis that feels solid and well-made. I like the painting they used here, it doesn't make the device slippery, providing an extra-grip.
It is 15.10x7.61x0.78cm, with almost-thin bezels. It weights 173g, the lightest 5.5" metal device i have ever tested. It is also the most compact 5.5" device i have ever tested, so well done OUKITEL for this.
On the front side there is the common 2.5D Curved Display and the upper front side of the device features the standard set of things: a Front-Facing Camera, an Earpiece, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. The Notification LED is not here, i do not know why OUKITEL removed it, this is a downgrade.
On the lower front side there isn't anything at all because this device uses On-Screen Buttons. On the back side there is the Unibody Metal Chassis, with the lower and upper bands made of Plastic.
The upper rear side of the device features the Camera Sensor supported by a Single-LED Flashlight and the Fingerprint Sensor.
On the lower rear side there are some Logos and Words about the Device's Certifications, together with the OUKITEL logo. The Speaker is positioned on the lower side of the device.
Device
Screen
Well...this is what looks weird on this device. OUKITEL says it is made by Sharp, but at least my device, has a poor-quality screen. Colors are washed out, the brightness is not as high as expected and everything looks cold (low temperature). I hope to see an OTA Update that fixes this issue, if fixable.
Light Sensor supports smooth light changes, this is its maximum brightness. It is not super high as you would expect from an high-quality screen.
Viewing Angles are as good as you would expect from an IPS screen, somehow better than expected. Nothing to complain about this.
Camera
Let's talk about the Camera, this is the second issue of this device. The Rear Camera takes yellowish photos, and Videos are recorded at 15FPS! I have tested another device with the same Panasonic Camera Sensor, so i know how this Sensor works if configured properly. Here it is messed up. OUKITEL, please fix it, this is a great camera sensor if you configure it properly.
"HDR off" on the left and "HDR on" on the right. HDR doesn't seem to have much difference.
Photos taken on medium light conditions are mediocre, with a medium level of noise.
Macro Photos look a bit yellowish, but the focus works great.
Even though there is a Single-LED flashlight, it seems to provide enough light to help the sensor without increasing too much ISO levels.
As regards Video Recording, 1080p videos are garbage, the yellow-tint is here and due to the 15FPS bug, they look like in slow-motion. Also, there is no OIS, unlike what OUKITEL declared.
Front Camera is a GalaxyCore GC5005 (5MP), not an OmniVision as declared by OUKITEL, and luckily the yellowish tint issue is not here, so you will not look weird in a Selfie or Video-Call.
OUKITEL, this is the first time i see a completely messed up Camera Depertment on one of your devices, with wrong declared information and broken software, i hope to not see all of this with the next OTA Update.
Audio
Speaker's Quality could have been better, at maximum volume the sound is still low, and it seems to be a bit muffled, with no low-frequencies as always. No issues with the Earpiece though, perfect while in-call and to play Whatsapp Voice Messages.
As regards the Microphone, it is calibrated for any kind of usage, everyone was able to hear me correctly. There is no Secondary Microphone for Noise Suppression though.
GPS
Unlike other MT6750/MT6750T device i have tested, luckily just like all OUKITEL devices, the GPS is working pretty good. I was able to lock satellites even indoors, so somehow OUKITEL managed to find a way to make the GPS working properly on this SOC.
Indoors on the left, outdoors on the right.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
OUKITEL, just like some other brands, provides full european bands support, with 4G Band 20 (some other Chinese Smartphones don’t have it). 4G Signal Reception doesn't seem to have any issue, stable and with decent speed.
No issues found with the 3G Signal Reception, actually I never managed to get connected to the 2G Network of my Mobile Operator because there was always some 3G Signal available. (luckily there are no coverage issues here)
WiFi 5GHz is supported here, working great with my 802.11n Dual-Band Connection. It isn't able to get full speed (100/20), but it is still a bit higher than 2.4GHz speed. Connected to 150MBps, this is the only device that managed to get such high speed.
Battery Life
I have measured the real battery capacity using my USB Tester, and it seems that the real battery capacity matches the declared one. (declared 2700mAh, real ~2700mAh).
This is the Geekbench Battery Test, the battery runtime is sufficient, honestly i do not think it is possible to get an higher runtime with a 2700mAh battery.
https://browser.primatelabs.com/battery3/392184
As regards battery charging times, the 5V/1A charger is a bit under-rated to handle a 2700mAh battery, taking more than 2 hours to recharge the device completely.
Software
This is the third issue of this device. OUKITEL choose to use, somehow, a so-called Dido OS (based on Android 6.0). This is a completely customized OS, similar to MIUI, but with lots of UI parts taken from iOS, and some words are badly translated into English. I do not agree at all with this choice, it reduces the Device's Quality and compromises the usage of the device.
Mediatek easy-to-use Gestures are still here, together with the usual Scheduled power on & off menu.
No Gyroscope or Magnetometer/Compass here, i have already asked OUKITEL to add at least the Compass on future devices, let's see if they follow my advice.
The Fingerprint Scanner is great, no issues found while using it. It is accurate, and unlocks the device almost instantly.
Review (part 2)
3DMark – GPU Performance is good, nothing to complain about it.
AndroBench – eMMC Performance is great as regards the Reading Speed, sufficient for the Writing Speed.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – 3D performance is good enough to play all games with at least 30fps, the minimum required to get a smooth experience.
GeekBench – CPU Performance is low as regards the single-core test, but great as regards the multi-core test.
CPU
Compute
GFXBench – I was not able to run any benchmark on this device, weird. THis Dido OS causes so many issues.
PCMark – Except the Computer Vision score, there is nothing to complain about.
Work 2.0
Computer Vision
Storage
Work 1.0
Vellamo – Browser Score is pretty low, i'm still trying to understand why. Maybe the OS is impacting negatively on it.
Even though the OS is full of background running apps, except for the Browsing Experience, everything else seems to be as good as you would expect from an MT6750T CPU.
Conclusions
In my last review about the U15 Pro i said "It is hard to be disappointed with OUKITEL devices". Ok, this is the first time an OUKITEL device disappoints me. Excluding the OS that i would call crappy, the Camera and Screen issues are serious. Honestly, i can't believe OUKITEL released a device with this bugs.
Also, what worries me even more, is that i am not the only one who is having this issue (check DeviceSpecifications's Review), so my Device is not faulty.
I have no words to describe it. In the current status, i am not sure if i can recommend this device, even though the Build Quality and Performance are great.
The only way to save this device is to wait for an OTA Update. Follow this thread, i will post here all updates, if there will be any.
Pros:
Excellent Fingerprint Sensor
Solid Metal Chassis
WiFi 5GHz Support
Slim and Lightweight
Cons:
Rear Camera Software is messed up
Screen Calibration is messed up (MiraVision doesn't help)
Crappy Dido OS

It’s not comfortable for pocket because of 6.44 FHD, but you can freely watch YouTube video and Facebook Chat simultaneously and definitely gives far more impressive video pleasure.
Uhans Max 2 is cheapest smartphone in the big screen category. Let’s check the how it is?
Uhans Max 2 looks solid metal body with exquisitely processed curved lines and corners, fine tuned to enable a pleasing grip. Both Matte black and golden variant looks stunning, 4300mAH massive battery packed in slim body and front fingerprint scanner is a easy to reach.
Overall, the Uhans Max 2 is almost similar to Xiaomi Max 2 but Uhans Max 2 design and practical features are definitely more interesting.
Specification:
Design:
The Uhans Max 2 comes with a 6.44-inch Full HD display with a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution which roughly translates to 342ppi pixel density.
It is sharp enough and colors are pretty spot on. The viewing angles are not the problem in compare to Xiaomi max 2 because Uhans comes with fully laminated display.
Software:
The Uhans Max 2 is powered by stock Android Nougat out of the box.
Updated features: Multiple independent user accounts allowed, enriched emoji list, shortcut setting, and so on. No third party software.
Hardware:
The Uhans Max 2 is powered by a 1.5GHz Octa Core MTK6750T processor coupled with Mali-T860 GPU and up to 4GB of RAM. It comes with up to 64GB of on-board memory. 128GB Expandable storage supported. The dual SIM phone supports 4G LTE connectivity. NFC isn't supported.
Battery:
The phone uses a 4300mAh battery which is non-removable. Battery life is average at best, which easily gives one and half day of battery life on a single charge.
It can manage 10 hours of video playback on average.
Camera:
The Uhans Max 2 carries a 13+2-megapixel Dual camera on the rear with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, Optical Image Stabilization, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash
It has 13+ 2MP Dual cameras on the front with flash for perfect selfie. The cameras have sensors to detect the image along with the point to shoot.
The amazing flash of the phone results in dedicated selfies and crystal clear pictures which outweigh the quality of expensive Smartphone.
The rear camera can shoot good 1080p videos at 30fps in good light. Meanwhile, OIS ensures mostly steady shots, thereby resulting in overall decent videos (and photos) in low light situations.
The Uhans Max 2 great for those who want mobile with big screen or power bank or selfie phone.
Stay Tuned for New updates and Review.
hi,anyone know how can i root this giant phone?
Introduction
This is the UHANS Max 2.
Hardware
Born as a Xiaomi Mi Max 2 clone (or advertised like such), this Max 2 from UHANS does get the big screen from the Xiaomi, 6.44 inches at FHD resolution, and more or less also the same footprint with a pretty slim body and bezels. Something that doesn't get from the Xiaomi is the CPU/GPU, since this is running on a Mediatek MT6750T with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Storage. Performance-wise, they can't be compared at all.
Unboxing
Packaging comes with lots of accessories compared to the Xiaomi: 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/"A USB Charger, 1x Quick Start Guide, 1x OTG Cable, 1x Glass Screen Protector, 1x Flip Cover with Wipes and the Smartphone (of course). No TPU Cover is included (but there is a Flip variant instead), and a plastic screen protector is pre-applied.
Being a phablet, it isn't possible to expect the most compact device. It is 17.6x8.91x0.9mm, with a weight of 247g, that might seem quite heavy, but on such a large surface the weight isn't too much noticeable.
The design is interesting, with a Metal Chassis with two plastic bands for the upper and lower ends, and it feels extremely solid and well-made. A slight key-rattling is noticeable though. Something that, in my opinion, should have been avoided, is the plastic band around the display because, from the front, the device might look "pretty cheap", while from the back, it looks premium.
On the front side there is the common 2.5D Curved Display and the upper front side of the device features a Dual (?) Front-Facing Camera supported by a Flashlight, an Earpiece, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. A Notification LED is here, but it only supports one color: Blue.
Here you can see the LED in action.
On the lower front side there isn't much except the Fingerprint Scanner that also works as a virtual home button, it isn't a physical button. It is clear that there is some wasted space on the sides, since there isn't anything at all there.
On the back side there is the metal back cover mentioned before.
The upper rear side of the device features the slightly protruding Dual Camera Sensor supported by a Single-LED Flashlight.
On the lower rear side there isn't anything at all except the UHANS logo because the speaker is located on the lower side.
Device
Screen
The screen panel isn't the best i have ever seen unfortunately, colors look slightly washed-out (lack of contrast probably), and the refresh rate isn't set to 60Hz, but to 54Hz instead. The latter can be fixed with a software update, but colors can't be injected so easily.
The Light Sensor supports partial light changes. Here you can see the panel's maximum brightness. Acceptable result.
Viewing Angles matches IPS screen capabilities, with no major issues.
Camera
I am not sure whether there are some software issues with the camera or not, but as you can notice, the quality of the back camera is just not right. There is a problem with reflections, and colors look greenish. I hope this is just an isolated case, only other users will be able to confirm this.
Apparently the HDR mode works pretty well (if ignoring the picture quality issue), so at least for HDR, the software is OK.
Macros feature the same issue, but the auto-focus seem to work decently with near objects.
As regards the Flashlight, it is hard to say if it is good or not in this case, but testing it separately from the camera, it doesn't look to be powerful.
Video Recording is decent, videos are saved at 1080p30 but the frame-rate struggles to stay stable due to the reflections issue reported before (white balance adjustments require some extra power while recording).
Luckily the front-camera doesn't suffer from any issue, except focusing with near-objects, and the quality is way better compared to the back camera. Way more detailed photos, no greenish tint and no excessive noise. Basically, in the current state, it is better to use the front-camera for everything lol.
Audio
Speaker's Quality is pretty good, providing some low frequencies at maximum volume. The volume itself is pretty high and doesn't seem to produce any distortion. Earpiece quality is decent too, not the best, neither the worst.
As regards the Microphone, it is a bit quiet sincerely, but at least the voice gets recorded properly and with no background noise. No problems noticed while in-call.
GPS
Unlike most previous UHANS devices, this one features a great GPS antenna, and also supports GLONASS.
Indoors on the left, outdoors on the right.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Signal Reception is accurate, with decent 4G speeds i got also on other devices featuring the same SOC. Remember that i test the 4G connection in the same position i test all other devices so this can be a good reference point to compare devices.
Something weird happened with the WiFi 5GHz support there. My 5.0GHz WiFi connection appeared for just some seconds in the list, then disappeared. I will check the software later to see if the device supports 5.0GHz connections for real or not. Connected to my 2.4GHz connection, it is able to reach pretty high speeds considering that it gets connected at 72Mbps.
Battery Life
Testing the battery capacity using my USB tester, i can confirm that the battery capacity matches the declared value, with even some extra capacity. (declared 4300mAh, real ~4420mAh)
The result can be easily confirmed by the PCMark Battery Test, reaching 9h 48m with 8h 47m of screen on time. Considering the power-hungry 6.44 inches screen, it is a quite decent result. Test done at minimum brightness, with WiFi on and Sync on.
As regards battery charging times, well the 5V/2A charger isn't the fastest, but still in less than 3 hours it is possible to fully charge the device.
Software
UHANS choose to use a fully-clean Android OS for this device. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with September 2017 security patches and no bloatware pre-installed. The OS feels smooth, but due to the screen's limited refresh rate, it doesn't feel extremely smooth (of course, 54fps vs 60fps equals to less smoothness).
All Mediatek features such as MiraVision, Gestures, Scheduled Power On/Off, etc… are there.
No malwares detected using Malware-Bytes Anti-Malware with latest definitions.
What impressed me most about this device is the Fingerprint Scanner, even though it isn't the fastest i have ever tried, it is 100% accurate and sensitive. If UHANS manages to reduce the unlock time, i might declare it as one of the best.
Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 4, GFXBench, PCMark (Work 2.0, Computer Vision, Storage & Work 1.0) and Vellamo (YES, it is back!) to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – GPU Performance is slightly impacted by the limited refresh rate, but it is almost as good as other MT6750T devices.
AndroBench – eMMC Performance is good, with excellent read speeds and sufficient write speeds.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – 3D Performance is just enough for a smooth gaming experience, barely higher than 30fps.
GeekBench – Just like most MT6750T devices, single-core CPU performance is pretty low with decent multi-core performance. Enough for most daily tasks.
CPU
Compute
GFXBench – Being a super-heavy benchmark, it is normal to not get high scores on a low-mid range GPU.
PCMark – Balanced performance in almost all tests, nothing to complain about.
Work 2.0
Computer Vision
Storage
Work 1.0
Vellamo – Pretty common scores for this SOC, even though i would have expected an higher score for Chrome.
Conclusions
This device is probably one of the most controversial i have ever tried, since i am pretty sure there will be lots of different feedbacks about it that might be worse, or better, than what i found. It is meant to be an alternative to the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 but there are many compromises that must be considered, such as the back camera, screen and lower performance SOC.
Can i declare it as a low-cost alternative? Well definitely yes, but if the back camera won't get any better and the screen's refresh rate doesn't get restored to its proper value, i am not sure whether this is worth to be considered or not.
I will definitely keep updated this thread if an OTA update gets released in the next few weeks, so keep following it if you are interested. In conclusion, wait a bit before choosing to get it in order to be sure whether what i have reported is just an isolated case or not.
Pros:
Solid Build Quality
Notification LED (even if single-color)
Auto-Focus for the Front Camera
Decent Speaker Quality
Excellent Fingerprint Scanner
Cons:
No Magnetometer/Gyroscope
Slightly Heavy
Awful Back Camera and Flashlight
Screen Colors look slightly washed out

After facing dilemma, with the two most prominent candidates for me, were Uhans Max 2 and Xiaomi Mi Max 2,
Finally , I chose Xiaomi Mi Max 2, with a special due diligence(200 US$) from the local store(Thailand).
Very happy with the incredible battery life of SD 625.

Should be not for now.
But it could be easy to port from another MT6750 devices.

Yep lol
hi, also have the phone. Like to mention the fingerprint sensors is also a back to home screen button so you can disable/fold down the 3 android display-buttons most of the time.
Other phones have the feature of double-tap on fingerprint sensor to go back. Has anyone seen a way to enable this kind of feature?
thx

You may want to test this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.superthomaslab.fingerprintgestures
I am interested to see some new camera samples too so, @Ochsensepp , if you don't mind, it would be nice to see some extra photos taken using the rear camera since mine is weird.
New OTA Update - 20171106
Changelog
- Updated Android Security Patches to October 2017
- Improved Screen Quality
- Improved Proximity Sensor reliability
- Improved Camera Quality
Is the changelog true? Well I notice some improvements with the screen, but the camera is still buggy thus I guess there is something wrong with my camera lens.
I am writing this review after using the Uhans Max 2 variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage for three weeks. The phone was connected to the 4G network.
Pros:
Calls : No lags and smooth voice.
Internet browsing : No lags and very fast internet site download (if you have 4G connection or 3G has good too).
Build quality : Very good quality frame, made from metal.
Four Cameras: Fast shutter speed and very detailed.
UI: Very fast and responsible.
Display: perfect sized and good resolution.
Battery: big capacity
Cons:
No Notification LED
No Fast charger
NO NFC support
Pretty Heavy ( because of Four cameras, Big battery capacity, Metal body )
No USB Type C

Capture Every Moment of Your Life:
Uhans Added 13MP sensor with an F/2.0 aperture. The second rear 2.0MP camera is used to achieve DSLR-level depth-of-field effects. The Main rear camera focuses quickly, which is also great for taking some fine shots of moving subjects. If you’re shooting in HDR, you’ll manage to squeeze in more details, although it takes slightly longer to shoot the photos. I am really impressed by the performance. As for the front camera, it has 13+2MP Dual front cameras with a flash light to reach a high-quality video chat and creates perfect selfies with enhanced brightness and clarity. In all your selfies, you look amazing and gorgeous. in term of video recording, the back camera can record video at 1080p resolution and the quality is great.
Also, Camera app provides some useful modes, such as panorama, beauty, SLR. The camera setting menu has more options for example, face detection, camera mute, touch shutter, anti-shake and others.

Conclusions
The Uhans Max 2 is definitely the new benchmark for other budget smartphones launching in 2017 to match up to. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend – especially if one needs a big screen and long battery life. Packed in a neat chassis, the smartphone performs great and is a compelling smartphone that gets a direct entry into any best-of lists.
Pretty good camera.

Compared to my unit definitely better, mine must be faulty. Damn.
Hello,
As of Feb 2018, has anyone ever succeeded in rooting this phone ?
If so, how did you proceed ?
I'm pretty satisfied with the stock rom but would like to use Xposed Framework.
@mrd.macdonald How can one port TWRP from a MT6750T device to another ?
Cheers !

Hi,
could you please answer my (noob) questions:
1) which method did you use to root and, once rooted, are you able to receive ota updates from uhans?
2) in a photo I saw the capacitive keys aside home button. Is it possible to activate them?
Tx
Hi, do you have any idea how to root this phone?
Yes, Please tell how to root the device?

Review (part 1)
Introduction
This is the UHANS i8.
Hardware
Just like all manufacturers, also UHANS joined the 18:9 party with the new flagship. This is what i would call a "soft-entrance", since it isn't maxed out as regards its specs but neither so banal. It comes with a 5.7" HD+ 18:9 screen, a Mediatek MT6750T chipset, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Storage.
Unboxing
Finally, UHANS is back with the great accessories bundle, together with a premium looking packaging: 1x Type-C USB Cable, 1x 5V/2A USB Charger, 1x Quick Guide, 1x SIM Card Tray Removal Tool, 1x Type-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack, 1x TPU Case, 1x Glass Screen Protector (yes, it's back!) and the Smartphone (of course). A plastic screen protector is already applied.
The device features a metal chassis that feels really solid, even though the painting isn't perfect to be honest (as you can notice), and it appears to be following the Galaxy S-series design with an almost full-rounded chassis for more grip. Unfortunately they removed the headphone jack though, something that Samsung didn't... :urgh: :urgh:
Something i really appreciate is the placement of Volume Keys. Nowadays most devices feature both power and volume keys on the same side, probably to save costs, and i find the UHANS choice pretty smart.
As regards its size, it is pretty compact thanks to the 18:9 screen, one of the smallest 5.7" inches devices i have ever tried, 15.27x7.17x0.86cm, with a decent weight considering the metal chassis: 209g.
Starting from the front side, there is the today standard 2.5D Glass with the IPS panel underneath, while the upper front side of the device features a Front-Facing, an Earpiece and the Sensors hole that includes Light and Proximity Sensors. A Notification LED is here, but it only supports one color: green.
Here you can see the LED in action.
On the lower front side there isn't anything at all since on-screen navigation keys are used instead of hardware buttons.
The back side features a glossy plastic/glass (not sure about the material) surface with no fancy light effects found on most devices i have reviewed in the past few weeks. This looks elegant and sober imho.
The upper rear side of the device features the Camera Sensor with a Single-LED - Single-Tone Flashlight, and a Fingerprint Scanner just below it. The scanner features a glossy surface just like the whole back panel.
On the lower rear side there is the UHANS logo plus some certification logos, nothing really important. The speaker is located on the lower side of the device.
Device
Screen
Even though UHANS opted for an HD+ only screen, they seem to have choosen an high-quality one. Sure, you can notice some pixels if you place your eye really near to the panel, but that's something required for VR apps only. Color reproduction is really good, and the white balance appears to be decent too.
Nothing to complain about the Light Sensor either, and the screen brightness is excellent, reaching almost ~450lux. No issues at all while using it outdoors under direct sunlight.
Viewing Angles are as good as you would expect from an high-quality IPS panel.
Camera
Just like 99% of chinese devices released in the past few months, also this one features a Sony IMX135 (13MP) camera sensor for the Rear Camera. There must be a big clearance in China for this sensor considering the amount of devices featuring it...
Photos Quality is OK, decent quality considering the hardware. The noise level isn't high and colors look realistic enough. Probably the best results ever obtained with this sensor, excluding HDR photos.
Luckily the Flashlight is still powerful enough even though it is a Single-LED only variant. There is no weird tint caused by the light, neither reflections on the lens.
Videos are recorded at 1080p30 with an overall stable frame-rate and acceptable quality, not the best neither the worst.
Featuring an unknown Sony IMX190 (8MP? no datasheet available online) for the Front Camera, the device seem to struggle a bit with the noise level. It might be a software issue. Can't recommend it for selfies/portraits.
Audio
The speaker used for this device is pretty powerful and provides a minor amount of low frequencies at maximum volume, but a minor distortion is noticeable. In-call Quality is just fine, and the earpiece is loud but lacks low frequencies completely.
Something that is perfect, even though there is no second microphone for noise suppression, is the main microphone. It provides a crystal clear recording with no issues with the volume.
GPS
One of the most impressive parts about this device is the GPS, able to lock lots of satellites even indoors and with a really high accuracy. Well Done UHANS for using a proper antenna.
Indoors on the left, outdoors on the right.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Providing full european 4G bands support (including Band 20), the device was able to stay connected to my mobile operator's 4G network almost everywhere, with a not so high signal but excellent speed considering my 4G network connection in my room.
Even though the device supports 5.0GHz WiFi Connections, something is limiting the maximum speed. It is not able to use my internet bandwidth completely, some firmware improvements might still be required.
Battery Life
No doubts on the declared 3500mAhs of battery capacity.
As a double confirm, even the PCMark Battery Test provides a reasonably high result considering the power-hungry chipset, reaching 8 hours and 47 minutes. Not bad at all.
Thankfully UHANS choose to include a 5V/2A charger for this device. Sure, it isn't a Quick Charge variant, but at least it is able to recharge completely the device in more or less 2 hours.
Software
The device comes with the usual Mediatek variant of Android 7.0 Nougat with some old-style apps here and there, with November 2017 security patches and no bloatware at all except an annoying launcher that i do not trust too much (known to be infected in the past, can't confirm it now). It feels smooth, no lags noticed unless you run super heavy apps/benchmarks and the HD+ only resolution helps too.
I really hope to see an Android 8.0 Oreo upgrade for it though, or at least Android 7.1. I will ask UHANS for a confirm about this.
Most Mediatek "Goodies" such as MiraVision are there, but i wasn't able to find any gesture such as Double tap-to-wake and similar.
An extra feature has been included with this model: Face ID/Face Unlock. How does it work? It just uses the front facing camera to recognize your face, do not rely on it if you care about your device's security. Period (also clearly written in the warning).
Just like all UHANS devices, also this one doesn't feature a Magnetometer/Compass neither a Gyroscope. I hope to see at least one of them in the upcoming models.
No malwares detected with the Malware-Bytes Anti-Malware app using latest definitions.
The fingerprint scanner works decently with no accuracy issues and the unlock time is acceptable, not the fastest neither the slowest. Perfectly usable.
Review (part 2)
Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, GeekBench 4, GFXBench, PCMark (Work 2.0, Computer Vision, Storage & Work 1.0), V1 - GPU Benchmark Pro and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – MT6750T (Mali-T860MP2 GPU) + HD+ screen = pretty good 3D performance. Way higher compared to FHD alternatives.
AndroBench – Decent read speeds for the internal storage, but the same can't be said for the other. Not so balanced performance.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
GeekBench – Average CPU performance, matching most MT6750T devices i reviewed. Enough for basic daily tasks.
CPU
Compute
GFXBench – The same thoughts written for the 3DMark benchmark are valid also for this one.
PCMark – Nothing to say about those results, pretty average. The same lack of storage performance is noticeable also here.
Work 2.0
Computer Vision
Storage
Work 1.0
Vellamo – Somehow, the Chrome benchmark is providing a low score on all latest devices i have tested so do not consider it. Other scores are instead matching what a MT6750T is able to provide, balanced results.
V1 - GPU Benchmark Pro – Running on the Snapdragon 410 preset at Original resolution, the result is quite impressive considering the low-end ARM Mali-T860MP2 GPU.
Conclusions
I am really happy to see UHANS back with this great device considering the not so good experience with previous ones. I can classify this as the best UHANS device ever released.
Sure, there is some room for improvements, but the excellent screen quality and overall balanced quality-performance make it really enjoyable. Hopefully next models will follow the same positive trend.
So, do i recommend it? I would be mad to say no. Unless you really care about the headphone jack and you need both Compass/Gyroscope for games, i can recommend it with no doubts.
Pros:
Impressive Screen Quality
Solid Metal Chassis
Elegant and Sober Design
Clean OS with no bloatware
Decent Battery Life
Cons:
No Headphone Jack
Outdated Camera Hardware (but the quality is decent)
No Android 7.1/8.0 upgrade available yet
Lack of both Compass & Gyroscope sensors
Pricy (based on online prices) considering the specs

Thanks for Your review, I am wait for it now, and I hope will not might regret it later. Looks fine.
Phone is beautiful but it's unusable as I can't receive notifications like whatsapp, email and every other. I'm very sad [emoji17]

Uhans i8 Camera Review: Decent Camera at a Budget Price
Uhans i8 Camera Review: Decent Camera at a Budget Price
Uhans i8 Camera Specs
Personally, my level of expectation wasn’t that high, considering it’s a Uhans device which has a reputation for offering great hardware but an average camera. However, that’s not the case with Uhans i8. It has a dual camera configuration 16 + 3MP (primary + in-depth). The primary rear is 16.0MP Sony IMX 135 Exmor RS sensor with CMOS, 0.23 inches sensor size, 1.127 micrometers pixel size, and f/2.0 aperture. The camera can capture the images on the 4160 x 3120 pixels and record the videos on the 1920 x 1080 pixels at the 30fps. It offers a better camera solution as compared to Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus. I was intrigued to see how well the Uhans i8 can capture the shots. So here are the pictures I have classified in different situations:
Shot in Daylight
Its camera can capture excellent pictures in daylight. I got good detailed, sharp and high-resolution pictures with a default setting. In HDR Mode you need to keep you mobile still for 2-3 seconds for good result. Other features are working absolutely fine.
Shot in Low light
Uhans i8 rear camera comes with a dual LED flashlight. I want to tell you that Uhans i8 rear camera can capture some pretty awesome pictures in low light as well. The images are very clear, detailed, and color reproduction is absolutely accurate. There was a bit background noise at the corners, but it’s almost neglectable.
The Bokeh Effect
The secondary rear 3.0MP camera is used to achieve DSLR-level depth-of-field effects. The pixels might be low, but the primary camera helps to achieve a nice result. Check the sample pictures of the bokeh effect.
Selfie Camera
The Uhans added 8.0MP Sony IMX 190 Exmor with f/1.8 aperture. It can capture 2592 x1944 pixels image resolution and record 640×480 pixels video at 30fps. It’s a selfie phone because every selfie will get attention because of quality, face beauty, and flashlight. Plus, we have the beauty mode on it as well.
Video Recording
As for the video recording, the Uhans i8 both front and rear cameras are better than the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus camera. Thanks to the resolution of the video which is up to 4K.
Conclusion:
The Uhans i8 is packed with great cameras both on the front as well as the rear. As per my test, I’m impressed with quality of the pictures. I recommend you if you are looking for decent cameras and powerful combination of hardware with reasonable price.
perfect camera
awesome pictures captured by @samileo31

@superciarli faced the same issue, try to contact him to know how he solved the issue unless he replies directly to this message.
Bad news for all i8 users. UHANS is dead, the company has been closed, so do not expect any official software update in the future neither support via email.

Rom LineageOS
when we will have LineageOS for this device? I am eager to use it since I have TWRP installed and magisk installed
