OOS open beta 7 and non functioning widgets. - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Just updated to the latest beta, clean flashed with supersu 2.78 sr3.
but a number of widgets don't respond (as in don't perform the task when clicked upon) on the home screen, their respective apps work just fine though!
widgets that don't work are exkm performance and power saver profile widgets, shazam widget, quick reboot widget, kernel adiutor widget and many others....
am i the only one who is facing this problem or is there anyone else?
if this is a bug then its one mighty annoying one!

Ampere and High brightness widget also.

Found a temporary solution as a reply to one of my post on the OnePlus forum
"I have found I can stop this happening with widgets by excluding the relevant app from automatic hibernation in settings/battery > menu/aggressive doze & app hibernation. You need to set the app (in my case GSam Bettery Monitor) to be not optimised."

I think it's a general problem due to new battery-saving feature. I have problem with widgets and notifications but, disabling app in battery manager, evrything works well!

I have a problem with this high-brightness widget because it's not in the app list it's a widget.

Could you be a bit more specific when you say "can't flash"
Are you unable to flash the zip in twrp, or do you get a bootloop after you've flashed it or are you able to successfully flash it but the system becomes unstable with force closing/stuttering/random reboots/, or is it that even after you've successfully flashed the zip the launcher just doesn't
Show up in the system? First step of any trouble shooting is to know how and when does the i issue present itself.
Also I'd like to know which version of twrp are you using.

The launcher does not show up on my system after flashing it. TWRP version is 3.0.2-19.

Flash the above recovery through fastboot or flashify(if you have root access) then boot to the recovery >backup system data, efs, boot(it is imperative that you do this, believe me) >then format your system, data, cache and dalvik cache, >then flash the Rom then flash the ".img" file of the recovery through the recovery >flash super su 2.78 sr3 and reboot to system to see if everything is in proper order.
Now reboot to twrp and flash your pixel launcher.
This should work.
All this is based on my presumption that you are on the latest oos open beta 7, am i right?

I am on the latest OS open beta 7. I'll do it and let you know if it worked. Thank you.

Pixel Launcher works just fine on open beta 7. If you're flashing it as a zip from recovery, be sure to clear some space in the System partition first (delete some unneeded system apps). The zip tries to install the launcher to the System partition (necessary so that you can swipe left to open Google Now), but the rom has no free space on the System partition out of the box.

I solved this by excluding only the launcher app (Nova) from the battery saving feature (didn't need to exclude individual apps)

[Q] General Question before Putting lifeless ROM

So i have all of the files needed on the phone.
im rooted and using apex launcer... If i do a full wipe when in recovery, will i lose my apex launcher config, apps i downloaded, and also pictures.?
This is like my first smartphone coming from a BB for 5 years, i did own a galaxy tab which was rooted and has 4.1 rom in it, but i always didnt care about what inside so i did a full wipe clean/clean davik etc.
thanks
No u won't lose stuff in ur sd card like pics and video. You will lose apps tho, so i recommend u back up with titanium.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
I never lost apps when I flashed lifeless. All I lost was home config but that's prob because I went from stock to apex. If you choose apex while installing I'm sure it'll keep it the same. No guarantee tho lol

alright cool.. will look for that 2nd option
volume down + power button right to get into CQM
wowww, did the first option this time when choosing a wipe, cause the first time chose the 2nd wipe.. i put enable softkeys on it, also camera wasnt working properly,
now it a fresh LG with V9.. kernel of 3.0.2
im not able to get any sprint coverage, and not picking up my wifi HELP.
Any way to revert all this back to normal.? I did a backup earlier and i guess it got deleted when i did a full wipe
This phone is strange to me cause when I flash a new ROM I initially get no coverage in till I update profile.
Try updating profile

Well the one that apex launcher installs with is holo locker. There should be an app in the app page. Go into it and unchecked enable hololocker. As for stock, you have to have it enabled to use a different one to my knowledge

[ROM-AOSPA] [JB 4.3] ParanoidAndroid 3.99-RC2 [Nexus 10] 21-SEP-2013

ParanoidAndroid for AOSP 4.3 (JLS36G)
Work in Progress
Please make sure you have backups for anything you don't want to lose.
Caution is advised. No promises this will not eat your device and take over your home.
Google apps are not official, these have PA Specific change, we have tested all apps but you could still encounter issues.
If you have an issue please make sure it is repeatable, capture logcat/dmesg, etc and post to pastebin or similar.
Installation
Update your recovery to the latest version. Pre 4.2 recoveries can mess up your sd card/storage. We recommend TWRP.
Download pa google apps: From GOO Updated 17-SEP-2013
Download rom: From GOO Updated 21-SEP-2013
Follow PA on Google+ for changes and other info
Perform a factory reset in recovery, unless you are already on PA 3.94+ (or if you run into problems)
Flash ROM first, then gapps
Wipe dalvik & cache
Reboot and wait, first bootup can take a little time
Enter your Google account info, press home when you encounter the black screen
Please do not restore system apps, system data and Google apps. This can cause bootloops and other problems due to mismatches coming from CM to AOSP and moving from Android version 4.1.2 to 4.2 to 4.3

I just got the update notification from your 3.91 PA ROM. The changelog says no other root app needs to be installed, but that didn't work for me. I lost root on 3.92 if I didn't flash the SU 1.51 zip file. No biggie though, let me know if this should work and I did something wrong.
On another note, seems like /etc/init.d scripts are being run on boot, but anything that needs root isn't working. I'm trying to find a workaround, but nothing is working out so far. I've tried adding "su -c <some command>" but that still didn't work. Any ideas are appreciated.
Thank you, this is a great ROM!

Do you install any superuser type apps from the Playstore in support of root? I see an entry in Settings for "Superuser", but I never get prompted for root access and my root apps claim in not rooted. This is from a clean install (Factory Reset) and only installing the few apps that need root (not doing a restore).
Edit - If I was unlocked and rooted in 4.2.2, there's no need for me to root again once I've flashed PA 3.92? Flashing the latest PA is all I need?

Check that link it returns a 404. Btw I'm mainly trying to upgrade just so I can use that audio mod because it won't work for 4.1.2, and equalizer doesn't work for 4.1.2 and above.
Also, will can I restore if I don't like it? Do you think it's worth the upgrade from 4.1.2?

You will lose the texts/data only if you wipe/factory restore your phone. (I highly advise to do this).
Here is what I did. I haven't had any problems yet.
1) Backed up all apps and data to titanium backup
2) Updated CWM
3) Booted into CWM.
4) Factory reset phone. Deleted cache and davik cache as well.
5) Flashed rom. Flashed wifi fix. Flashed knox apps remover. (In that order)
6) Booted up phone.
7) After boot, turned phone off.
8) Booted into CWM again.
9) Flashed MK3 modem. Flashed hotspot mod.
10) Booted up phone. Restored apps and data.

Actually the only problem so I far that I see is that SuperSU isn't working, so I have to try and flash that one he included in the thread.
Also all my apps are still here and I didn't use titanium backup...I'm confused...it's because I didn't wipe/factory?

Nope didn't work anymore ideas?
Have you tried clearing the cache and data from in the Application Manager? Open System Settings and choose the General tab. From here scroll down and choose Application Manager. Now swipe left three times to the All category. Scroll down to clock and choose it. In the new window scroll down and clear cache then clear data above it. Now reboot and go into TWRP and wipe Dalvik again. This process will delete any alarms you have created.

At this point I would personally re-flash the system. Starting at Step 0 with the guide you linked.
Like all new Samsung roms it has a write protect on the system so you can't write to the SD card get ahold of the write fix and just push it into the system/etc/permissions folder and everything will work again

Like all new Samsung roms it has a write protect on the system so you can't write to the SD card get ahold of the write fix and just push it into the system/etc/permissions folder and everything will work again

First off thanks for helping out on both my posts!
I think I got the file it's something like build.prop.sd.fix.zip I'm going to flash it using my recovery. Is that good?
The file is platform.xml and it goes into system/etc/permissions
I had a problem with play store and play services constantly crashing on me. I ended up factory resetting twice I believe and now it works tits

Can't log in Snapchat, problem (Marshmallow)

"Oh no! Your login temporarily failed, so please try again later. If your login continues to fail, please visit support.snapchat.com/a/failed-login ".
This is the message I have, I can't resolve it, I tried reinstall, uninstall whatever.... I'm not banned or anything.
They told me it could be because of the xposed.

What is Xposed ? I'm not root at all.
So, no one know this problem ? I'm not root, and I've never been root.
This IS because of Xposed. Your only solution is to log into snapchat with xposed uninstalled then reinstall xposed. In a nutshell:
- Disable all modules > Reboot
- Uninstall all modules, then uninstall the Xposed installer App > Reboot
- Flash the xposed uninstaller via recovery or flashfire
- Log into snapchat with your xposed free phone
- Reinstall Xposed and NEVER log out of snapchat again. Or else the same thing will happen
I believe there's some shortcuts you can take in the uninstall process, but I prefer doing the cleanest method.
There is an alternative fix. And that's only if you have a backup of SNapchat with Titanium Backup. If the backup is from a time where it was working properly, you can restore the data only to get back in.
If you don't then I recommend making a backup so incase you happen to accidentally log out, you'll have an easier time getting in

Thanks but, I asked above "What is Xposed ? I'm not root at all."
So I still don't know what are you talking about, if I'm not root, it's still because of Xposed ?

Did you buy your phone brand new or was it a used device? If it was a used device the previous owner may have rooted the phone and installed xposed

My phone was brand new and to be honest I know what I am doing. Since this is not my first device that I rooted and/or installed custom recovery with any modules

Me brand new too
Hmm. I had this problem but it was because Snapchat did detect xposed. After i flashed a ROM without xposed, Snapchat works.

So all of you guys who had the problem was because you were root ?

That is correct. If you can, if you try to log in through another phone that is confirmed working for someone else (Such as an iphone or another stock android), does the same error message appear?
The only two potential choices I can think of is to do a factory reset, or contact snapchat support if you cant log in anywhere else as well.

I've just resolved the problem last night, I actually made a factory reset, and after I create a new Google Account when the phone asked you, and after log in to Snapchat, but now I'm using my older gmail account and my Snapchat still works, so it's cool !

I know the thread has pretty much come to a close at this point but as a person who uses Xposed and flashes many roms, all you have to do to log in is not have xposed installed when you log in. Modules (including snapchat modification modules) don't cause login issues!

I've done it before myself with Titanium Backup. But I'm not sure how easy backup works. I know Titanium has a data only option which includes the login data.
