Hey!
Here's the first Version of my Mod.
1. Download the Files.
2. Extract it to the root folder of your Pixel.
3. Boot into TWRP, make sure you have /System mounted.
3. Rename /System/Framework/framework-res.apk to backup or whatever.
4. Copy the modified framework-res.apk into that directory and change the permission to 0644.
5. Rename /System/priv-app/SystemUIGoogle/SystemUIGoogle.apk to backup or whatever.
6. Copy the modified SystemUIGoogle.apk into that directory and change the permission to 0644.
7. Reboot System and cross your fingers!
I tested it, and it worked.. Still need to find out how to remove the animation from the Homebutton but for now it works as it should.
Halo Removed, button reseized. Do the above things on your own, i'm not responsible if you mess up something. Be sure to have a backup nearby in case something wents wrong.

- ic_sysbar_
- Opa (yup, no typo - those are the colored dots)
- Halo (the outer ring)
It totaly sucks that we can't wipe any caches on the Pixel, i messed up SystemUI one time, and had to format the whole /data partition just because of a SystemUI FC which could be easily fixed by replacing the file, setting the proper permission and rebuild cache.
Will keep you updated if whished.
There we go.. Here's a screenshot to get a feeling for the size and the changes.
So how do u set custom size nav bars?
I modified the size in framework-res (changed it to 24dp, same size as the statusbar), removed the Halo (the small circle) and Opa (colored dots) from the SystemUIGoogle ressources to gain the "old" stock look. Still needs some touches, but once it's finished i'll provide a flashable zip for TWRP.

Can't you just wipe cache manually? Use file manager in twrp and delete data/cache and data/dalvik-cache? Or am I assuming wrong

Hello, so I just made few color changes on the drawable-hdpi folder images of twframework-res.apk. Then I pasted the new apk on my phone and replaced the current one on the system but nothing changed on the icons I made changes.
Do I need to follow any extra steps in order to make it work? I noticed there is a file called twframework-res.jar as well, so that may have to do with it?
The images I am trying to edit are the ones when you click the menu button(these are called ic_menu) and can also be found on the framework-res.apk. Also what is the difference between these two apks?
I find you get best results when flashing apks, and try clearing dalvik cache before you flash do it rebuilds the new images into the cache.

Using the install zip method? It doesn't show on the sdcard though.
Download a theme, open it with 7zip and go to the system folders. In these delete any apks. Then goto system/framework and put your apks in, then back all the way out. Boot into recovery and flash, job done.
I recently received my Galaxy Nexus - and love it!
My idea was to keep it as stock as possible, but I wanted to change the look and feel to be more minimal, without having to install a non-stock launcher or use a different ROM. (The inspiration for this came from Nitroz's 'Black Exodus' theme.)
Phone : Galaxy Nexus, Rooted, now with a slightly modified stock ICS 4.0.2
There were a number of posts all around the Internet that led me in the right direction. To the cast of thousands who shared their information - Thank You!! The instructions below are just a compilation of the work already out there, but hopefully as they are in one place they will speed things up if you want to do this.
I am assuming that any future OTA updates will reset this.
Instructions for a Newbie (like me)
Requires :
One Rooted Galaxy Nexus
Way of getting files on and off the phone - I am using ES File Explorer
7-Zip on a PC
The new icons
The icons are located in the APK files located in the \system\apps folder.
To change the SMS icon
On the phone
Backup the original \system\apps\mms.apk file
Copy the \system\apps\mms.apk to a PC with 7-ZIP installed
On the PC
Open with 7-Zip (DO NOT EXTRACT)
Change to the res\mipmap-xhdpi folder
Drag and drop the new PNG file (ic_launcher_smsmms.png) over top the old one.
Copy the APK file back to \system\apps on the phone
The phone does not require a reset, but you will need to add the icons back.
To change the Contacts and Phone icons
These are located in the \system\apps\contacts.apk.
Folder - res\mipmap-xhdpi
Files - ic_launcher_phone.png, and ic_launcher_contacts.png
To change the Browser icon
These are located in the \system\apps\BrowserGoogle.apk.
Folder - res\mipmap-xhdpi
File - ic_launcher_browser.png
To change the App Drawer icon
These are located in the \system\apps\launcher2.apk.
Folder - \res\drawable-xhdpi\
File - ic_allapps.png
Removing the line above the App Doc
The file from the phone to edit is \system\apps\launcher2.apk.
On the PC create a blank file called hotseat_track_holo.9.png.
Overwrite the file in the /res/drawable-xhdpi directory of laucher2.apk
Just a thought, but Nova Launcher looks exactly like the stock launcher, but you can change the icons to whatevery .png you want directly from the homescreen. They will remain even after updates to the app. It's entirely up to you, but i thought that might save you a ton of work
And save myself 2 days of pain and frustration?? ;-) It was a good learning exersize, although when the config gets nuked by an update, and I don't have the time to play, I will look at using a different launcher. Thanks for highlighting Nova as an option.

I have also update the icon in the Statusbar Toggles too, it now shows LTE in place of 4G.
note: if you use TWRP to copy the file, make sure you mount SYSTEM first or you will not have access to the folder.
PS I would have added screenshots of LTE (not in lte area right now)

Here you come the right place!!!!
Note: I will not be responsible if your phone suck in between.
Also remember to backup the stock font before doing anything.
The tutorial is made based on Android 4.2.2
[Guide] How to make your own font
Preparation: 1. a rooted device
2. a file manager, e.g. ES file manager
How to do?
1. find any fonts online like http://www.dafont.com/
2. Download it
3. If it is not in ttf format, convert it to ttf by : http://www.freefontconverter.com/
4. Change name: your regular font to DroidSans.ttf, RobotoCondensed-Regular.ttf, Roboto-Regular.ttf (Make 3 in total)
your bold font to DroidSans-Bold.ttf, RobotoCondensed-Bold.ttf, Roboto-Bold.ttf (Make 3 in total) (if your font have this)
5. put it back to your phone by file manager (your phone should be rooted and file manager should gain granted by supersu/superuser) into /system/fonts
6. reboot

Real situation:
I like waltograph but cannot find any in xda, so I may one by my own.
1. I download font here: http://www.dafont.com/walt-disney.font
2. Then unzip the file, I get waltograph42.otf and waltographUI.ttf.
3. you just click on it and and find waltograph42.otf represent the regular font, while waltographUI.ttf represents the bold font.
4. Convert waltograph42.otf to ttf by http://www.freefontconverter.com/
5. Make 3 copies of waltograph42.ttf and name them DroidSans.ttf, RobotoCondensed-Regular.ttf, Roboto-Regular.ttf
6. make 3 copies of waltographUI.ttf and name them DroidSans-Bold.ttf, RobotoCondensed-Bold.ttf, Roboto-Bold.ttf
7. connect the phone to pc and place all 6 files into your sdcard
8. move them into /system/fonts
9. reboot
10. enjoy

I used to install fonts on the go with Rom Toolbox but on the One only 1 font over 5 is working,many of them will freeze the phone on boot.
Dunno if someone has found an app 100% compatible yet

Well for most font apps. It can fully apply on samsung only. For other phone, we need to use carefully as it may cause boot loop.
And now for the One, there are some font apps too, but it still cannot help to change all your font in the system. You can try, but I recommend you to use the method above.

Note, it can only change some system font only, not all..... e.g. you can see your installed font in some apps, while in homepage, you will see the stock font
I found a good solution,I downloaded a font resize app because all that matters for me is bigger fonts,I have a short vision weakness
I have the problem of fonts restoring to it's original fonts after reboot.
Someone said to flash custom kernel with rw capabilites change (or) delete certain .ko files under /system/modules.
I can't find how to do both and any ideas please?

Here is a quick guide on how to replace the boot animation and system font on oos 10.0 (Android Q).
ROOT is required.
Boot animation:
1. Download the attached zip and extract it.
2. Download a custom boot animation of your choice (XDA Boot animations collection).
3. Rename the downloaded boot animation file to "bootanimation.zip" and copy it to "BootAndFont > system > media > bootanimation.zip".
You can skip now if you don't want custom font.
If you don't want to change Fonts, just delete the "fonts" directory.
4. Download custom fonts of your choice.
5. Rename the fonts to their relatives in the "BootAndFont > system > fonts " directory.
6. After everything is in place, using root explorer (such as ES File Explorer) move both "BootAndFont" and "module.prop" into the device to the following location
"/data/adb/modules/"
(You can see the final result in the attached images.)
7. Go to Magisk, refresh the modules and make sure that the new module is now on the last.
Reboot the device and everything should work!
*Tested on OP7T, Should work on every OOS 10.
*Current Font is Germania-one, you can leave it as-is if you want.

What happens if i have a separate font module? Will that get overwritten even if i delete the font folder?
Can confirm this works! I'm running OP7TP5G (TMobile) running the latest Magisk.
If anyone is unclear of the directions, once you bring the custom boot animation zip in the BootandFont folder, you have to just simply take the BootandFont folder and move it to the location OP mentions. Go into Magisk and confirm, once you are done reboot and you should have the new bootanimation (and or font)
This method is better than the other bootanimation thread on this forum as this does not require you to flash in Magisk nor worry about the permission write error you will get. Much appreciated it hella weird too because I was up all night trying to figure this out and then you come up with this guide ???

If you are removing the "fonts" folder, then it will not overwrite your current font.

Hi,
You are correct, on part 6, I wrote by mistake to move the bootandfont.zip instead of moving the directory only.
To apply your custom font, first, you need to understand that in different scenarios different fonts are used.
for example when tinted or Bold.
if you have a tinted version of your font should replace it according to the font name.
if you have just 1 version of your font, you can duplicate your font file and rename the copies with every one of the "Roboto" file.
You can see in the attached photo that all of the files are the same. (They are all GermaniaOne that was renamed to what the system is looking for).

I have a noobie question. Can't you just do the simple: move downloaded boot animation to the system file and replace it with the the stock boot animation and change permissions? A reply would be much appreciated

Android 10 system is read only so you need to use magisk to do it systemeless

I've got same question here. When i'll have a free moment i'll try to flash this module with ui sounds.
EDIT: nope. There's something wrong with product mount, it's not working
@yaaria thank you for the guide, I installed animation etc. I downloaded font : roboto.medium.ttf
How select the font? must rename the roboto.medium.ttf, to Germaniaone.ttf ? and delete the ( first) Germaniaone.ttf?
Will this mod (font change attribute) work on stock AOSP ROM?

OMG Thank You! This is so awesome! I was looking for a way to change both of these and you killed 2 birds with one module. At first it didn't work but I then realized that the BootandFont folder was inside another BootandFont folder somehow, all I did was copy the folder containing the module.prop and system folder to the adb modules folder and deleted the duplicate folder it was in but the fonts didn't work. Then I realized I needed to copy the font I wanted running on My phone 18 times and rename them to all those roboto files, so the system loads the file but gets a different font! I now have the glitchy Cyberpunk 2077 Oni/Samurai mask boot image and the OCR-A font running flawlessly on My OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren. You're awesome!
