System taking up too much storage (19GB on 7.1 DP2) - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, guys.
I was using the Pixel ROM for my N5X 32GB and everything was fine, but I missed being 100% stock. So yesterday I flashed the 7.1.1 Developer Preview 2 and everything seemed fine. I left my apps downloading overnight. I usually download all my Spotify library and that takes up about 8GB of my storage - which was NEVER a problem, I've always had at least 2GB free in the previous ROMs.
The thing is, when I woke up today, I had lots of notifications saying I ran out of storage and when I checked, system alone was taking almost 19GB of my storage!!! I guess that's not normal at all. What have I done wrong? Do I need to format any partition? I'm clueless.
thanks for your help.

[Q] Settings show 768mb RAM memory

I've been searching on XDA and Google but I couldn't find anything about this. I also don't know if this is a common bug or whatever. I was just fiddling with my phone when I saw at the Hardware information page that I had 768mb ram (Geheugen in Dutch) instead of the normal 512mb. Is this just a display bug?

Sorry in advance if this has been asked already, I just couldn't find anything about it and was curious.
I believe its just a display bug, mine once show 768 too, but I recently (like 10 minutes ago) change ROM and I just checked and it says 512 again. Or maybe is because of where the ROMS are taken to make our costume ROMs. Now I'm curious too.
Great to see someone finally reacting to this! Yeh, I'm still awaiting an answer to this, though I think it is indeed just a display bug. Currently without my G2 though due to repairs.

[Q] Wrong storage indicator

Hi! PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY ISSUE!
I recently switched my phone from iPhone 3GS to Galaxy Note II. Conclution: Never considering of changing back to Apple again.
There is one problem I discovered this last week. After my external SDcard crashed, I had to save photos/music/videos on internal HDD instead.
The problem is that i cant transfer music on the phone because the memory-indicator tells me that the memory is already full. Today I removed exported all of the photos to my computer, so there was no photos left. But the indicator keeps telling me that I am allready using pictures/videos for 7,72 GB when it also says Avalible space is 7,23 GB. Total space is 10,36 GB.
When I connected the phone with my computer it tells me an another number.
I belive that there is a bug with the indicator...
If there is a hidden folder on the phone with more files, can you please tell me?
If anyone had or having this issue to, keep me updated for fixing the bug.
Thank you!

Out of storage

Hey all, I was running Marvels Contest of Champions on my XL using 7.1.2 DU, when I went to 8.0 and try to install it I get error message "Your device is out of storage space. Please clear some space and try again later" I have 450mb free in my root directory and 10gb of internal memory free. Im lost, any help would be appreciated.
Try clearing off more space and see what happens
My Nexus 5 has 0 free of 1009.mb and it works.

Maybe it doesn't play nice with 8.0 yet
If somebody could chime in I would greatly appreciate it.

Goto the app permissions and make sure it has access to storage.

HTC M9 stuck on TWRP (cannot install or do anything else)

Well, I should start with that this is my gf's phone and I've installed LinageOS quite a while ago. She's saying that she was installing a weekly update when the phone crashed and after that it started to stay on the boot window for hours. When I tried to manually update the phone via TWRP it showed this:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Tried some Youtube guides, as changing from EXT 4 to EXT 2 and back again, repairing the file system, but it just says the same thing all the time. Any ideas how to fix that? Thanks in advance!
I'm not very experienced in that (only installed a few ROMs to a few different phones), so it would be great to get some step-by-step guide, so I don't mess something up <3
Flash back to stock and start over. If the ruu can't fix it then nothing will.

That phase requires a ton of DRAM. When building 19.1, this phase might consume as much as 12GB DRAM.
It's suggested to have 16GB DRAM. If you have less, make sure your swap partition is around 16GB.
You can also try to adapt these hacks to make it build with less DRAM.
