How do you disable the brightness slider in the notification panel? - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

How do you disable the brightness slider in the notification panel?
When I had the November V update installed someone on XDA mentioned that you could goto system ui tuner & disable it there... & I did.
Now I updated to the J version & I can't find that option anywhere & I have lost the thread mentioned.
Any ideas?
Thanks

To get the System UI Tuner to show up just long press on the gear icon (settings) until you feel a slight vibration. You'll then find the settings near the bottom of the main settings page.

I know how to get system ui tuner to show up...
But before I had the option to remove the brightness slider in there, now the option is missing.
Anyone know how to remove the slider by any other means?

What system mods have you done? You must have flashed something to remove the setting for the System UI Tuner section.

Are you on the J build and able to do it?
Looks like he is saying he flashed J and its no longer an option for him.

I'm on V and don't have any option to remove the brightness slider in System Tuner options.
It's on my to-do list for framework mods though.
I'd like to remove it too.

Brightness slider has never been an option in settings tuner

I didn't realize it was the WETA mod that added the toggle to disable the brightness slider, my bad.

I didn't realize that when you have the centre clock WETA mod that it also made the brightness slider disableable via system ui tuner.
Thank you everyone for helping me figure it out...
There is no J build of WETA centre clock yet so thats why there is no option to remove brightness slider in system ui tuner

The Brightness slider in the System UI Tuner gets added with the Stock UI Modded script.

On WETA 2.3, the option is mislabeled.
On the stock NMF26Q firmware, the brightness slider showed on the second downward slide of the status bar above the nine QL tiles.
The slider disappeared when I flashed WETA 2.3. The option to toggle the slider is in the UI tuner. On my phone it's the topmost option, but it is mislabeled as "Show clock seconds in the status bar. May impact battery life." This is in reality the brightness slider toggle.
Hope this helps..

[Q] G3 Tweaksbox question

Hey!
I have the blurred notification center background toggled and sliders and quick settings bars transparent but the top part of of the notification center with the time and date is still black. How can I make that transparent?
In Tweakbox, go to Theme Tweaks > Notifications Panel and set the various components to stock. You might also want to set 'Button background colour' to stock under Theme Tweaks > Quick Settings Panel' as well if it isn't already.

Thanks for the reply. Wouldn't toggling components to stock make them none-transparent?
My idea is to have a fully transparent and blurry notification center like in the G3 tweaksbox Google Play pics.
No, stock means no additional settings are applied over the blur. I use a blurred notification panel.
You want 'date label colour' etc to be stock as well.
Just do it.

You did a good job but could be better if you provide alternate link not waiting for people to ask you. Baidu is dammm slow!! Waste to put any efforts for downloading. I have found one another link and trying to download. Looks better.

I did not have that problem with wallpaper, TouchWiz wallpaper & theme chooser both work (though i prefer alliance manager) but if they work better & more consistently for you from the home screen then apply them that way.
And for anyone wanting to wake the screen with the home key in addition to the power button, it's under custom settings/hardware keys/home key
Disable wake with home key and then re-enable it as pictured:

No, there isn't any freezing or stuttering or lag, but after the first flash & setup it's little slow as the rom settles. After that first hour or so (and def after playing with agni settings) it flies & is smooth as butter. Even the battery life is great.
People just need to get it set up to their liking & then let the rom settle (with most roms that can take up to a week, with this one it only takes an hour or two I noticed)... It's excellent :good:

Thank you my good sir! I'm currently on my 3rd install. I will take another run at it here soon. I wiped the data and both cache's x 3. My issue occurs when I'm restoring my apps via the play store. I didn't modify anything.

Just a quick question, did you wipe internal storage (your internal sd card)?
Should wipe:
/system
/data (including /data/media or internal storage depending on which recovery you're using)
/cache
/dalvik
If the problem is occuring when restoring apps from google play, my bet is on .android or .android_secure files leftover on your internal storage from a previous installation. If you want to keep these just in case, back them up to you external, but definitely do a FULL wipe first, which includes internal storage.

G4 TweaksBox on v10
Original Thread Here - Thanks @P_Toti

I want to stress before I go any further that this is not my work, I am sharing it since I had success using it. The Original Thread is Here. I Was looking for an easy way to customize my setup and just experimented with the G4 Tweakbox. Since both devices are very similar and both running Lollipop, decided to give it a try and it worked like a charm. I have 4 Way Reboot, Center Clock and it looks great.

22 is arm64, for lollipop 5.1.1, 23 I believe is for Marshmallow. you will get an error and it won't flash trying to install that on the v10 .. All the second screen issues are not present. Everything is working great.. I have zero problems
Edit* Second screen issues are already fixed, I am running the deodexed ROM in the Android Development section version 1.3

Alright, I'm still on stock ROM in hopes of somehow getting Android Pay to work. Plus I dont want to set everything back up again anyway. I've already deleted all the bloatware and have things working the way I like them, I dont see much need to change ROMs. So I think I'll have to install the second screen fixes.

If you are rooter android pay won't work so I would flash the deodexed ROM. You will have more functionality with xposed than you do now and Android Pay Still won't work in either situation...
Systemless Root on Marshmallow and we will be good to go for Android pay

You can do that on custom ROMs, it's the SuoerSU app, just pick full unroot, reboot and you should be good to go... Systemless Root is out for marshmallow so it is only a matter of time before it will work with root.. We are not there yet... Android pay works on rooted roms for the nexus 6 and 6p

Went ahead and installed it!
I noticed something strange, the statusbar tweaks under theme tweeks actually added the carrier text that wasnt visible before, causing me to have to use a tweak to disable it. No biggie I guess.
But the color options for statusbar icons dont work for me. Have you tried those?

I had exactly the same issue with the carrier text, but because its enabled by defualt is why it is there, I have not tried to color the status bar icons, I didnt play too much because it requires a restart after every change, but every tweak worked for me. I did the pull downs, changed the colors, made it transparent, the navbar as and the messaging app color form orange to blue as well as the advanced reboot. All without issues

How to change default navbar color to black?

In the settings, by default, there are only light colors for the navbar, which don't fit quite well dark apps like Spotify and Reddit.
Is there a way to set it black?
I already tried:
- LG themes and high contrast mode: they work, but also change the whole UI look.
- Nacho Notch, Navbar Apps and other applications on PlayStore: they don't change only the default color, but the color used everywhere (e.g.: Nacho Notch sets the navbar to be always black, even when it should be transparent, like in the launcher).
- Alpha Substratum theme: it doesn't affect default navbar color (or, at least, I wasn't able to let it do it).
Does anyone know how to do it?
Thanks.
I don't see it either. Apart from another launcher, I think your only option is going to be a dark theme.
Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk
Use nacho notch or navbar apps.
Or double tap the left hand dot to hide the Nav Bar in those apps you don't like the look??
I just use System UI Tuner. A few ADB commands for permission for the app to run and all is good. Find it in the Play Store. Instructions are supper easy to follow and you can hide either the nav bar status bar or go full immersive and hide both even on the home screen like I do.

Alpha most certainly has this option. That was one of the first things I did when I added G7 support! You do have to go and manually select black but the option is definitely there
Thanks!

I finally found out how to do it! I needed to "force" the black navigation bar selection in the settings after having built "System UI".
I also quickly followed a fellow XDA members advice on how to enable High Contrast to phone in the settings and makes the phone dark as can be. It solved my Setting Theme to all black and Navigation bar to black as well. Just had to change the wallpaper back but works well.
