Force 2nd Sim in 2G-Mode - Xiaomi Mi 5s Questions & Answers

I'm using two sims but I want to force the second sim to use a 2G networks only independently from my first sim. Is anyone able to do that?
Also when i manually select a 2G-network for the second sim, after a while it changes autonomous.

I've tried changing it from Test Menu (*#*#4636#*#*), from "TD-SCDMA, GSM/WCDMA and LTE" to "TD-SCDMA and GSM".
The setting persist until I rebooted the phone.

[Q] help!3G connectivity has gone from my phone

my phone can not connect to 3G networks in most of our city, while it used to work just fine in these same places. at first i thought there must be something wrong with the carrier's base stations. but today i tested my SIM card on another LU6200(Korean version of Nitro HD) and it works perfectly both on 3G and 2g networks on that phone. but when i put it back into my phone, it can only get 2G signal. if i set the Preferred Network Type to WCDMA ONLY, it got no signal with just a cross on the signal bar. i have to put it back into GSM ONLY mode to receive signal.if i go out, i can get partial 3G connectivity here and there, but not consistently. sometimes even if i have full 3G bar signals on the status bar, i can not make calls or connect to the internet.i've got this problem probably after i tried to forcibly go into the Phone Info menu.i got repetitive " the process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly" promps , and i just ignored it and tried again. now ,2 options are missing from the menu, LTE/WCDMA/GSM and LTE Global.in place of them, it's UNKNOWN. i already tried flashing KDZ package of no avail. Does this mean a hardware malfucntion or software glitch? Please help!Thank you in advance

Well you do HAVE GSM only selected. THATS 2G(EDGE)

Disable 2G (LTE/UMTS only) solution

Sometimes the phone jump to 2G (EDGE) for no reason while HSPA and LTE work perfectly.
Here is the solution (and it will stay after power cycle):
Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Phone Information
Scroll down to network mode and choose "LTE/WCDMA"
Reboot the phone immediately.
This method works for me.
Almost, its *#*#4636#*#*
Trying to do this on my D855 international G3, on lollipop, but can't get into the phone information .
*#*#4636#*#* works, but when I click on Phone Information, an error is given 'note this application does not work on this device' . I suspect a changed lollipop radio/Rom thing.
Any idea on how to achieve this another way?

Did you manage to fix it?
is there a solution for this on asop (euphoria 7/06)?.... after a call it goes to 2g and it "never" switches back to lte
New method:
Dial 277634#*# and you can get in Hidden Menu -> RAT Selection.
Typing 3856#*855# into the dialer allowed be in, then choose LTE, then RAT options.
Using the G3 D850 (AT&T) for t-mobile but it rarely conects to 4G LTE, it's usually on 2G, tried doing the above, with the *#*#4636#*#* code came up a error that I can't access that app, and in the hidden menu I couldnt find where/how to set WCDMA or LTE only, any new way to do this?
Qwerty when in hidden menu choose LTE-ONLY > then >modem setting> then > rat selection works on my g3

it is happened to users who using wcdma or other non-cdma users.
Go to Settings -> Network -> choose CDMA subscription -> check RUIM
then open dialer, type *#*#4636#*#*,phone information, choose Select prefered network type to WCDMA prefered, reboot
now you should get signal on your phone,if not, check if network type is LTE,then switch it to 3G or 2G,then it should have signal now.
press the thanks button if that helps you

Hi
It seems I got the issue resloved by running into another issue. First of all there is no such settings in my menu and second off all all the codes I try and when I press the last corrector the whole code disappears and nothing happens.Even *#06#
doesnot work
Also there seems to be a signal dropping issue. btw I am using F180L which is similar to E975
Also Thanx so much for trying

How to switch 3G Only

How I can switch my Fire Phone to 3G Only Band? Some App or somthing? Who help? :what:
Go to the dialer, enter *#*#4636#*#* and tap "Phone Information". On the next screen, you can select 'WCDMA preferred' from the drop-down menu. However, I'm not sure if the phone will automatically reset itself back after a restart or whatnot.
Yes. I discovery that. Its simple and easy. Now for me, a very good phone.
Is there anyway to turn off 3G ? for use 2G GSM only mode , I want to use EDGE option since my area has the weak 3G signal.

You follow the same steps I gave in my previous post. Instead of selecting WCDMA preferred, you select GSM only in the drop-down menu.

Thank you it works great without reset the phone.
And easier and lazier way is to install the app "Phone testing", it is the shortcut to the same menu. On Motorola phone the app is required because that dialer combination doesn't work.

How to lock the network on 3G only mode in OOS?

Im on OOS 4.1.5 Using airtel sim. Eventhough 3g netwrk is available in my area, if I set 2g/3g/4g mode in netwrk menu, it locks on 2g mode only.
Only for few min it stay on 3g and den comes back to 2g mode.
On custom roms we have option to select only 3g mode. Buy in OOS it's not.
I have even tried to set UTMS mode in *#, #4636#*#* but it didn't worked.

Self tried solution
I faced the same problem in my OnePlus 5T, and this is what I did:
Install "android hidden settings" App from Playstore. Go to RadioInfo. Set preferred network type as "LTE/WCDMA". Disable the Radio Power by turning its switch to Off (Wait as it takes a couple of seconds to do so). After about 1/2 a minute, turn it on again. That's how I resolved this problem in my OnePlus 5T.
