Important! Attention frustrated le1 pro x800 US users, campaign to get source code - LeEco Le1 Pro ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other D

Hi Guys,
I am fairly certain that many of you will have been as frustrated as I am about LeEco's response to our requests for the source code for our devices. Many of us have been met with we did not release the phone to the US market so please contact the 3rd Party seller. You and i know that this is an unacceptable stance and in breach of the GNU etc.
I think it's time for all frustrated owners to show LeEco what we think of their stance, and take a stance of our own as many of us have already started to do, and see if we can twist their arm a bit. The best way in my opinion is to hurt the company where it hurts most, and that's in the pocket and in the public eye. I therefore recommend that all users go to their face book account and leave a review of 1 star and explain why. Making sure you also mention our device in the comments section. This is bound to hurt and just over the last day i have seen their review score drop a few points. Now if everyone who signed the petition did this they would likely have a score near 1 out of 5. Which is roughly what I would give their service just now.
I have also been instructed by Lemall.US to email their opensource team a request to release the code which I have done and hope many will take time out to do the same.
Keep in mind we have been treated completely different to the buyers of the CN model who seem to get endless updates. While we get BS!
All of these reviews can be changed in the future if they release the source code and let us be free of their crappy, malware firmware.

Most recent reply suggests its working -
Denis our LeEco Global team has been contacted regarding this issue. We are investigating why the Le1 Pro x800 source codes were never released as part of the petition. We are pushing the LeEco Global Team to resolve this issue for you in a timely manner. The LeMall and LeEco US Teams were unaware of this issue until we received the reviews, but we will work to get this resolved for you. We hope you understand this device is not connected to our region and this is why our teams aren't able to resolve this for you immediately. We will keep in touch. -Matthew, LeMall US Team

Seems to be definitely working, now at 87 one star reviews and certainly LeMall US Team have taken notice, but we must keep the pressure up.
48 hours have now passed and 49 reviews by US X800 Users.
What can we achieve at this rate in the next 48 hours?.
This is awesome considering the Campaign is in its infancy and only went live on a few other sites last night so hopefully it will pick up exponentially over the next few days. Like the petition on change.org did.
We need to try and aim for at least another 63 reviews, so that we equal their 5 star reviews and they will hit the 2.5 rating, but obviously the more the better, so keep on spreading the word.
Still no further news from LeEco since this morning and not so much as an acknowledgement from le.opensource. But i am in communication with them in all channels and not giving up.
I honestly believe we are not far from cracking this.
I will keep everyone updated with any new developments as soon as I hear.
Awesome effort so far guys!
Respect!

Hey all,
You may have noticed that the front page (a.k.a. the portal) of our beloved forums has been getting regular updates, leading to news, improvements, and more.... anything related to xda-developers. Keeping up with the latest and greatest apps, themes, mods, hacks, etc. is our way of giving those developers that put the time and effort in this community some 15 minutes of fame by being featured in the largest online community of its kind in the world. However, since we are not omniscient and hence cannot spot every single piece of software that shows up in a 2.5 million member community, we would like to ask you for help. If you see something that is of interest to you, that you believe could have an impact on XDA, or you simply made the next best app in the world, drop us a pm. We will be more than happy to evaluate the submission and feature it on the XDA Portal.

Introduction
As some of you may know me
I´m orb3000, and been around XDA since 2006; this site change me the way of seeing mobile world. Interested mainly on Windows Mobile platform.
I started with Universal which I had for almost 5 years, after that I got a Rhodium and a Maple and later a Leo.
I write most of my articles for that OS and also do active help on spam reporting, as well as welcoming new members
I do not consider myself as an expert, I am simply a regular member trying to help to they wayI do better to the first and only community I love so much
XDA!!
So, feel free to contact me if you think something of your work may go to our Front Page.
Come on!, don´t be shy
orb
Thanks guys, I love the way you are being updated without losing the essence.
Everything in xda is getting better.
I am ElCondor, and I'm from Holland. You might know me from the GTX Sense theme.
Back in February, I started this job as a news writer, because I wanted to be part of and contribute to the xda-developers community.
Since then, I started to love writing these articles, and my English improved drastically.
My articles are mostly Android or Windows Phone 7 related.
You can always contact me if you have any suggestions or special requests. Also if you have found something newsworthy, something other users may enjoy too, just let me or any other newswriter know.
Best regards,
ElCondor
XDA News Writer
Hi guys, I've been around since 2007 when I bought the HTC Touch, well things have moved on a lot since then, and I've tried my hand at developing for WM and Android (still learning), but wanted to contribute more by becoming a News Writer for XDA
I write mainly Android articles, and some Windows Mobile. We're always sifting through the masses of threads for front page news, but do let me or the other guys know if you think anything is newsworthy including any breaking news!
I guess I will add my little "intro" in here as well
I'm egzthunder1 and I am the Portal Administrator as well as a Senior Moderator. I have been a XDA member for a very, very long time... since July 2005 to be more precise. I have gone through many devices, starting out with a Wallaby (SX56) and kept on going afterwards with many other devices (Blue Angel, Wizard, Vogue, Raphael, Herman, Mogul, and ultimately HD2)... most of which I still own and are fully functional. I have helped many, many people throughout these years, despite my lack of development ability. A few months ago, I became a News Writer based on a suggestion by Flar (Retired Admin) to try to increase the flow of people to the site by creating a more dynamic front page of the website, with up to date content about everything XDA. Shortly after, I became Senior Moderator, and really shortly after, due to Flar's departure, I became Editor in Chief and Portal Administrator.
I would like to invite all of you (as I stated in my first post in this thread) to let us (the news writer team) know if you know of something that would be cool to have in the front page.
Looking forward to your input and thanks for supporting XDA!
Sincerely,
egzthunder1
Hi there!
I've been a member since 2008, when I got my Universal after having the Monet for some time. Although it was basic, the Monet forced me to get another Windows Mobile phone as I was instantly addicted to how much potential the operating system had - before then I could never really check emails, browse the internet or watch video without booting up my PC.
After the Universal came my much-adored Touch Pro, which I still use. I recently bought and fixed up a G1 so that I could branch out into the Android side of the site a little more, and I'm really enjoying tinkering with the system.
I wanted to become a news writer as I have always felt an urge to contribute to the community despite not having any technical knowledge (some of you might have seen me giving out dodgy advice around the forums ).
Having both phones should let me write articles about both Android and Windows Mobile, and I hope I can help if you want to get your story out on the front page.
Well done is better than well said.
Maybe something to expand on....
Found a website that analyzes the value of other sites.
What is the Website Value of XDA-Developers.com
It seems that xda-developers.com is being valued at $13.28 Million. With 1.66 Million Pages and with a World Wide rank of 1,806. Compared to that: Htc.com is only worth $12.66 Million Google is ranked 1 worth $8 Billion and Microsoft on rank 19 worth $1 Billion.

A little side note, my Blog only ranks at 1.4 Million and is only worth 7800.- For Obvious reasons.
Thanks for the information!
Not sure if we can write about that but I will find out

Website valuation sites are notorius for being crazily inaccurate when it comes to valuing Forum sites and Blogs. They tend to be based on assumptions about traffic, potential sales and ad clicks. Few Blogs and Forums sell much if anything and that just leaves ad clicks. Forums are very poor at generating ad clicks as Members tend to become completely blind to the ads and don't click them at all. Much of the traffic to blogs and forums is repeat traffic and they are even less likely to click on the ads (not to mention ad blockers). When was the last time you click an ad on here!?

Absolutly true, and I am sure I did not motivate anyone to sell xda-developers.com. But it is still a amusing evaluation. For me XDA-Developers.com has definetly much more continues value then htc.com but I guess one might not exist without the other. But regarding clicking adds I rather donate directly. But off course I donate to many different people not just XDA-Developers.com. Regarding the adds I wonder how much money they really generate? If they are useless I would not mind to see them gone. Dont worry I will donate something for saying that. lol

as the guy stated the websites are mostly rated by how many clicks and traffic they have from ads as well. I believe the knowledge that this site provides it's priceless. And because it is distributed free the value ranks it to one of the most important (if not the most important) website from celphone developers to the least know hows users. This website I consider it the Great Library of Alexandria!

Petition to make Wave 1/2/3 source code open source - collecting ideas

Hi everyone,
I started this on Sammobile yesterday (where it is already a sticky). Also, german site Badania has wrote about it now, too. The petition is not started yet, this is only for collecting ideas and knowing about your opinions. Recently there was some 'news' saying that the Wave 3 source code was made open source, which turned out to be untrue (the file released by Samsung was only 130kB big). Big letdown for many of us, and Wave 1/2 source codes were not even mentioned.
The current situation
The thing is, at least the Wave 1/2 users desperately need an open source release to continue enjoying their devices. Both devices are great hardware, they have a big community and developers willing to put in some ellbow grease, but, we don't have the means to fix certain stuff, only Samsung has. You might think about the trouble upgrading Samsung Apps and the trouble with push and SHP in general that many Wave users have experienced in the last few weeks and months. You might think about all the small annoyances that you users ask us CFW developers to fix everyday (but we can't). You may also think of the BadaDroid project, and the tons of work put into developing a working modem driver, still with nothing to show to the public until now.
The last official Wave 1 FW is from July (with little to none improvements over the January XXLA1 release), the last official Wave 2 FW is even older. Some of you think (and with a reason) that Samsung themselves are not willing to do any more updates or fixes for these two devices. They have, more or less officialy, abandoned these devices and are not willing to put in any more work. We, as a community, on the other hand are willing to work on these - without pay even -, but our hands and feet are bound behind our backs due to the Wave 1/2 being closed source. Don't be fooled by our recent successes (design changes, ported chinese keyboard and quickpanel) - reverse engineering is like stumbling through the dark in an unknown environment, and eventually we will come to a standstill. With Bada being closed source, we will always lag behind the likes of Android.
Samsung themselves are no strangers to the idea of openness. They plan to make Tizen an open source project, they also develop highly succesfull Android devices and they also did at least say that they are interested in releasing the Wave 3 source code. Also, they are just now planning a big company image overhaul, with a new logo and a new policy of more openness. But, if nothing is done, they will just forget about the 'old' Wave 1/2 devices - guaranteed.
So, what now?
This is where you, the users, the developers, the mods, the bloggers, everyone in the Bada community come in. I've been playing around for a while with the idea of starting a petition for exactly this: To ask Samsung to release in full the Wave 1/2/3 (or for even more Wave devices) source codes. But wait, don't rush things now!
We need a big, coordinated effort, spanning all the Bada sites around the globe.
We need the petition to operate from a site that's easy to use for everyone (that means no complicated signup and no shady stuff), and we need the petition's text to be multi-lingual, translated in all the languages of all Bada countries: german, turkish, azerbaijani, arabic, polish, czech, french, italian, spanish, and a lot that I have forgotten about. We need a great, short text (not as long as this one) for the petition, so that everyone knows even from a quick glance the why's and the uses of such a petition.
We also need supporters, people willinng to spread the word on other sites, especially the big ones such as XDA or Bada-Turkiye, but also the smaller ones. We need every voice, and we need as many people in this as possible.
We need to give Samsung the choice to either publicly let down thousands of customers, or just, finally, give us the source code that we have been waiting for for so long.
Further proceeding - my suggestion
Now, this is what I suggest now:
Don't rush things - we should be collecting ideas for at least a week until we even think about actually starting a petition.
If you're willing to support this case, spread the word or even find more supporters, let us know here.
Double points if you're also a member of some non-english-speaking Bada community .
If you have any additional ideas or concerns, also let us know - this is what this thread is for, to collect ideas and coordinate this.
We need a good short english text for the petition itself (I may come up with something later myself).
We need translations for this text in as many languages as possible. And, no, I'm not thinking about Google translations, but about the good old manual ones.
Looking forward to your opinions!
Big sorry.
But this petition can only Santa Claus make true...
1.
Samsung is not alone patent holder...
Wave 1-3 use Qualcomm Hardware AND Software...
So Qualcomm patents affected...
Nearly same stuff is in hundrets of devices from other manufacturer too, because also Qualcomm...
Not only Qualcomm... think about Quram...
Security and Compression Algos...
2.
Place holder...
Best Regards
i agree this Samsung release the source code wave 1 2 3
Maybe we should think about making the petition not only about Samsung, but also about Qualcomm and Quram. Hopes for Modem drivers and the like might be slim, but chances are we'll get a step forward, at least being able to do something more. I think Bada libraries source codes are well within the realm of possibility, and we could already do a lot with them.
Also... what else could we do now, hoping to keep the Wave 1/2 development alive?
BTW: Christmas might also be a good time to make our wishes come true .

That would be a good thing, but - I don't think that we will get Samsung to fix it themselves, and the petitions text is not clear about alternatives such as open sourcing. I think it's a different thing.
Hi Guys...
I am a writer from Badaforums.net.
1 month back,we planed to file petition for open source bada and we got good response.
but, after sometime we dropped the plan as we needed some reliable(and known) person to file the petition.

we can use this to file petition if u want...I can give the text file(only to reliable person)...

Nice! I would, however, suggest to make this a bit shorter. People seem to be too lazy to read these times . Also, set the accent on the Open Source release and include Qualcomm in the petitions recipients list. Although this may sound pessimistic, I'm amost sure that Samsung themselves won't do any development or OS updates for the Wave 1/2 (and smaller Waves) themselves.
I guess I should give some more details. Also, for those too lazy too read the whole text: Just jump to the paragraph that answers your question.
What is this about?
We want to ask Samsung to release the source codes for the Wave 1/2/3 firmwares and Qualcomm to release the accompanying hardware drivers (the Qualcomm part is an additional proposal by me).
Why is this important? / Why should I promote this or participate?
For me personally, this is something of a last hope, especially for the Wave 1/2 devices. I should know being a CFW developer myself: With what we got now, we just don't get far, and there's tons of stuff that we just can't fix (because we don't know how it works, because we can't do any changes... etc). Also, think about the BadaDroid project, which will likely get a big boost from a source code release (modem driver, anyone?). Without the open sourcing we will eventually come to standstill, and that point is not too far in the future.
Why now? / How is this different from earlier petitions?
First of all: This is the first petition specifically made to ask Samsung to release the source code. Now is a good time for this, because Samsung is planning a complete brand makeover over thenext few weeks and months. With this brand makeover comes a new policy of openness, which can only be good for this petition to reach its goal.
"The Wave 3 Bada OS is already open source." / "They'll release anyways because of Open Source Tizen."
I can assure you, it is not. Although this news was on several big Bada news site during the last two weeks, the news turned out to be untrue. The file provided by Samsung is only 130kB big and contains something, but not the Wave 3 source code. It is worse for the Wave 1 and Wave 2 devices, cause these two will be just forgotten about if we don't act. Remember, Tizen is only planned for the Wave 3, and I'm not even sure if that is official.
"This won't work."
Of course, you won't have any guarantees this will work, even if you participate or promote this. The alternative - doing nothing of the like and just hoping for the best - won't most likely do you any good either (read the second paragraph for my personal opinion). Also, we're open to suggestions on how to do this the best way. We want the whole Bada community in this, and we want to listen to your opinions and proposals.
We already have supporters such as german site Badania.de, czech site mojebada.cz, US based site badaforums.net and we're in good hopes of getting even more of the big and smaller ones to support us. This is planned to be a big global effort.
"The modem driver is owned by Qualcomm, not Samsung."
So, you're interested in BadaDroid development specifically? That's right, and that's also the reason why I'm suggesting to add Qualcomm to the petitions recipient list.
Quram algorithms sourcecode is what they sell, so they won't publish it.
Qualcomm AMSS sourcecode - forget it.
Parts of Samsung SHP source - maybe, but from my experience with Samsung HQ I wouldn't count on much. ;P
If we all want to start with this petition,we have to start early and with full proof plan.
but,we will need support from whole bada community and many sites.
I am ready to help...with my blogging and ideas...
Regards,
WaveGuru
We of badaos.net (Iranian Bada forum) are ready to sign the petition. Our forum has 20,000 users (about 3000 active)
Thanks everyone for their support!
Waveguru and nip_miniw, can we add you to the list of official supporters? Maybe also your sites (badaforums.net and badaos.net)? And, don't think wrong if it has gotten a little bit silent here, we're still working on this! But, we also still need more supporters.
If you're willing to help, post here, please.

You're 100% right about the Quram (QMG images, anyone?) source codes, and probably about the Qualcomm AMSS source code, too. But, with your new low level BadaDroid modem driver - would we even need the Qualcomm source anymore? Also, for the rest, I think anything will help, right?

Hi k8500,
I am ready to help u all.I also have a plan in place.if you want,we can discuss this over PM.
but,I believe that making Bada as an open source should be one of the thing in petition.
we should also need to ask Samsung to provide us bugfree bada...as current bada firmware is not bugfree.
if we can't play HD games with current firmware...if we need to switch off our wave every time to clear ram...then its Samsung DUTY to provide us bugfree OS which they promised.
As many said that this will not change anything... Samsung will not do this...
It will be Samsung's decision whether they want to provide their customer bug free product or not ...but as a customer...as a money payer...I want to try to make Samsung realize that what they are doing is not RIGHT.
Thanks and Regards,
WaveGuru
I think...
At first we need an overview, who will officially support this petition...
We (badaNIA) will definitely do so...

Official_Rom_5.8.018s_MM_for_X800_US

Hello everyone. Just released my kernel port rom for X800_US
For further information just check here. http://www.letv.re/topic/1758-official_rom_58018s_mm_for_x800_us/?page=1
Thanks for your concern!
Right guys I think its time for a change of tactic. They have ignored the petition with 1200+ signatures, they ignore individual requests. So can i suggest anyone who is not happy logon to the lemall.us facebook page and leave a feedback review, it sits at present at a score of 3.8 from 238 reviews.
I am fairly sure should all x800 US owners who signed the petition leave feedback of 1 star and negative feedback this rating will go through the floor. Maybe they will then pay some attention as its 1 of their income streams.

Kernel Source Code for Xiaomi Mi5s Released

Dear Xiaomi,
I'm sure there are a lot of buyers (like me) of your latest flagship phone Xiaomi Mi5s who bought this phone hoping that you will release the source code very soon after its market introduction and thus make use of numerous custom firmware out there.
Hence our humble request: Please release the kernel source code for Xiaomi Mi5s asap.
Thanks
Edit 1 (27.04.2017):
After 7 months of waiting, the kernel source code for Xiaomi Mi5s has been released. Finally!

best regards
This post does not belong in this section.
Also I doubt anyone from Xiaomi would read this post.
Even if they did, they already know we on XDA would like the source code released - the same as every other phone released!
Answer from the supermoderator of en.miui.com:

I saw that comment, what an informing notice lol. Miui forums community is cancer imo, no info at all. Polls everywhere.
"when it is release, word will spread." Oh god thank you! I'll not fall for the price next time i buy a phone.

And I suggest you not to read that forums comment section. They post something and there is only thank you and praise for the OP. Fair to say it's cancerous
Need to start getting to the governments of countries involved to block importing/sale of ANY products that use GPL based software that they dont release source code for that the license says they must. I guess unfortunately enforcing GPL doesnt have the backing of multi billion dollar movie studios like pirating one movie might bring...
Basically their stealing other peoples work and making a profit by selling it without following the law of releasing their modifications of the source.
If the product is sold then source must be available otherwise the law is being broken, stop them selling their products outside of China and then they might give a toss about releasing kernel source, their stealing the work of thousands of developers and not abiding by the license that the source was released under.
Looks like Mi5S support will be abandoned shortly as their releasing the Mi6, looks like we got a lemon of a phone, time to chuck all Mi5S's into the kitchen grinder and destroy them

Well, if they can not handle it like Oneplus did it months ago, they could release sources to let us do better than they can.
Please don't protect xiaomi developers. Their updates are a joke, at least when hardware bugs still subsist like fingerprint scanner. It's funny to see that an XDA developer fixed it with LineageOS even without source code. They are amateurs on their jobs, that is guaranteed. They don't understand that an hardware is as good as it's software permits.
It's also important to note that they released nougat not only for ancient devices but also for more recent devices than mi 5s which is an insult. In fact i believe nougat comes to mi6 sooner than mi 5s, releasing mi6 with MM is ridiculous anyway.
With mi6 they change this device to the past, with software from the past and without kernel sources, future proof hardware bugs.
So yes, even if they release sources or Nougat tomorrow i would be still disappointed. It's my right to feel as so and to share it in a proper manner.

I am disappointed too. But every day I see at least one man who say that "Xiaomi tricked us, no support for global, this phone is ****, throw it away". I don't see posts like this on 4pda, but usually russian community raging first.
I don't feel tricked, because i expected Xiaomi dominant position. But a dominant position makes sense when there is no problem whatsoever, or they managed to rapidly correct problems, or when a software is proprietary. None of this happened. They don't fix it and don't let us try to do better. This model suffer from hardware inconsistency with some camera and screen manufacture, this should be sufficient to provide some after sale care at least at software domain. I still wait for the best, but what i could assure at this time is that i regret this acquisition against Oneplus 3T. I question myself if they acknowledge that Oneplus is their natural competitors and that they are gaining the game with simple actions. First CPU with normal clock (170k vs 152k max at antutu), then battery friendly oled, then a working fingerprint scanner without battery drain, consistent hardware sources against multisourced modules, open source since day one, frequent usefull updates, and fast upgrade to last Android. For me is night and day. Say nothing isn't an option because i would not protect my product, neither potential buyers, or Xiaomi option to make things right.

I agree with you for the most part, but not for comparing Xiaomi's Mi5s with Oneplus 3T. I paid less than $300 for my Mi5s 4/32, Oneplus 3T costs at least $420. I don't say it doesn't worth the money, I'm sure it does (OLED, 6gb RAM, etc...), I'm just saying it's not the same price range...

If Mi 5s had 6GB ram, Gorilla Glass 4 and OLED etc... It'll will cost as much as 3T
Let's not split hairs, let us all just hope Xiaomi releases the kernel sources for Mi5s along with Mi6 or by the end of April.

Also in that case a more fair comparison would be between Oneplus 3T and Mi5s 4/128 that cost me 379€.
Since the mi6 was released today...should we expect to receive access to the kernel's source code today? Any news in this regard?
We need official nougat global dev rom ASAP.
I guess at this point it may be a good idea to write to http://gpl-violations.org for an advice and help
Xiaomi already know you want the source code - it is the same with EVERY other phone! They will release it when they are ready to.
Making complaints on this non-Xiaomi forum / starting petitions will not make any difference. They will not read them.

Honor Fan Meet

Intro:
Fan Meet is Something new organized by Honor in order to Collect opinions, feature requests and Bug reports from honor Users where other OEMs failed to do so.
I would like to share my experience how the meet had gone through.
About:
The meet was planned and set to start around 6:30 pm considering the availability of all the users who ever filled up the Google form. At 6:30 like regular we introduced ourselves to the Honor R&D team and later around 6:45 we had gone into discussions regarding the opinions on Emui 5. Surprisingly, Honor at first asked the Cons and what everyone Dint like in EMUI. Most OEMS just boast what they give and limit the users to use the same. But when it comes to Honor they asked the cons first. Mostly i heard about battery improvements and Ram Management. As they just gave a word, Promisingly (of course they surprised me and all) Honor 8 Pro users by pushing B150 ota which improves battery backup, Thermal optimizations and other bugs. That is soo quick and i dint expected such a quick response and This is completely Unexpected. And when gone through the second and foremost thing, they asked us what we need from honor in current software and future updates as well. Here Everyone raised their requirements, Even i did asked many things which our Members of Honor Forums striving since Long. R&D team took a note of what we requested. I hope that was a week day after Honor meet, they published a form here which is a poll where they tried to consider users choice. And the last one Pros On Emui . I feel EMUI 5 is obviously something that changed the game of Honor. Theres a lot of features where other proprietary softwares dint have. For the People who cant tweak their phone like root&flash(Covers everything regarding roms), The feature rich EMUI is like RR for unrooted Users. Even we discussed Many things regarding EMUI and we ended Discussions at 8:30 PM.
Post Meet:
Honor arranged dinner for all the enthusiasts who were at the meet. R&D team is friendly, they let us express everything in our mind. Its not just a normal day, HONOR truely surprised everyone in all aspects. As a token of Honor, They gave presentations to all the visitors which is eye catching .
Conclusion:
As far as i understand through the meet, Unlike other OEMs Honor is trying to reach the end users which is not a anything normal.
They collected the list of cons and rolled out an ota for 8 pro and 6x users within a week, Noted the feature Requests and published a form immediately. Woah, i feel honor(Huawei) will be a top brand if they continue the same strategy.
Kudos to R&D and Honor for giving us an opportunity to share our thoughts. And Thank You to all the Readers, Hope u guys will be at a Honor meet in ur nearest city soon. (To Openup, This Meet was arranged in Hyderabad).
That is nice. I wish that other android OEMs would do the same thing too.
Ahan its really great that honor is trying to listen user opinioms and requirements.. but i hope they don't ignore Pakistani users too in updates..
