Best Rugged case - OnePlus 3T Accessories

So I'm waiting on my OnePlus 3T. Other than that the overpriced Otterbox and what's OK Amazon, has anyone found a good rugged case that doesn't add a lot of bulk to the phone? Thanks.

I found this Orzly's case so good, maybe too width for you though. Look up for "Orzly® Grip-Pro Case" (XDA does not allow me to share links yet)

Some people might say that an Otterbox case is overpriced. While I agree that they are certainly costly compared to other cases out there, they do offer some pretty good protection. I see it like this... Some people get insurance on their phone because they know that one day they might need to make a claim and get a replacement phone. Me personally, I've never had insurance on a phone and have also never broken a phone. So instead of paying a monthly fee for something that might happen, I pay a one time fee to ensure that I'm getting good protection on a costly device. With that said I do have an Otterbox case for my OnePlus 3T and so far it's been great.

You can take a look at Poetic Cases. I'm rocking now the Revolution on my Moto Z Play, model made for Z Force, and I can tell you, for under 20$, u cannot find other 2 pieces case with protection on display, some plastic. The plastic will scratch easily but in the end, not the shell worth, just the nucleus . It's a little bulky, steady in hands and the back piece is made from hard plastic and the edges of it from some nice good TPU.
Sorry for my bad english skills. Hope you got the ideea.

anyone thinking about rhinoshield? (https://rhinoshield.io/collections/oneplus-3)
I saw a video on youtube where a dude using this bumper case on his 3, tried getting the phone damaged by dropping the phone from various heights. the phone was unscathed even after falling from 22 ft (2 storey up). however in general usage, the phone will (likely) not be falling from a 2 storey building but a user's pocket height, so the case seems good. however, at 25 USD, it feels a bit pricier. but i guess that's a better protection/weight tradeoff than most fully phone covers.
what's your opinion guys?

I use a Spigen Neo Hybrid Case on my 3T and I love it!!!
Good protection yet slim (adds 3,25mm thickness) and beautiful!
For my eyes it is the best looking case out there that adds enough protection.
And even the price is not bad with 14,99 Euro here in Germany or I think $17,99 on amazon.com.

I have this case. Works well, and will work with the oneplus 2 holster from Seidio if you are so inclined. Also works with the TGSP without causing the edges to lift up.

Definitely would recommend and second the spigen case.

The faux carbon fiber look at the top is great too, gives a D-Brand kind of feel to it.

Could you give me precise measurement of the case (with calipers )? I'm currently using a Tudia Merge (rugged dual layer) and I find it kinda wide and thick (that's what she said...). This Spigen looks good, but I don't want to spend yet another $10-$15 if they're the same.

It's covering the microphone on the back!

The answer is OtterBox always. I have it in black and it feels awesome. Best protective case.

Picked up the Otterbox when I ordered my phone. Not sure how $25 is considered overpriced for the protection you want.

Incipio feather, Speck Candy Shell, and Bodyglove cases

I was browsing around the AT&T web store, and saw these cases available. I'm happy to see the Incipio feather case make the list. While I typically don't put cases on my phones, I'm a big fan of the feather case. It's so low-profile that it almost feels naked (although, I'm not sure if the phone would still fit in the docks).

I agree. But the blue actually looks pretty good with the stock homescreen.
Incipio makes great cases. When i had my iPhone, that is the only case i'd buy. When my wife got an iPhone, that is the case i got her. They fit well, they arent overly bulky, and they are strong.
The only reason i havent ordered one yet is because i also got the dock and i dont think that the phoen will sit in the dock with the case on. That is a deal breaker for me.
I bought the speck but would trade for a feather if anyone is interested.
Personally the only case I'm interested in is a TPU case...And I'm not going to get one until there's a non-patterned one available. Who ever thought it was a good idea to have argyle print on a phone case?
Has anyone been able to find screen protectors anywhere yet? There is one built into the otterbox defender case i bought from att for my atrix when i get it - but i havent been able to find any screen protectors like i have for my captivate....

I ordered the two pack of anti glare screen protectors from att.com along with the body glove case.
The Speck cases look nice but they scratch easily, the feather cases tend to get worn from being rubbed on in your pocket and from sliding on tables, and the body glove always worked well on my Captivate.
Anyone have a link to these? I'd really like to buy one, I just cant seem to find them on any of the manufacturers websites nor AT&T online....
Try phantomskinz. Best screen protector I've ever had. 2 for 9.99 and feels like glass. I dont know if they are out yet tho.

about $30? I don't have the receipt in front of me at the momemnt so I don't know exactly... It is very very nice though. Glossy and soft on the inside and very thing... just no covering for the ports. but then again I have never had a case cover the ports so its all good. I plan on checking out the commuter and maybe returning the speck.

Oooh, yea the commuter covers the ports (which I always found annoying btw) I was leaning more towards the candyshell because it looks so...... beautiful. Does it make the phone substantially fatter though? Also, does AT&T charge a re-stocking fee for accessories?

I don't know about the restocking fee.. I'm going to guess no, because the guy that helped me out seemed like an informed, nice dude. And when I asked him about the return policy he didn't mention restocking.
I actually don't have my phone yet - I didn't pre order so I am going to be picking it up tomorrow morning. I have opened up the speck though and checked it out... the size of the case is not big at all. I think it is comparable or even slightly thinner than the otterbox commuter, if that helps you at all. It is in fact a really nice, well designed case. The black plastic is glossy, which could be a good thing (probably easy to slip in and out of pocket) or it could be a bad thing (aquires light scratches from being placed on hard surfaces). I will have to see how it holds up for a few days (I take great care of my things) but I might just end up keeping it.

Thanks . I've owned all kinds of cases from pretty much all the major manufacturers (otterbox, speck, case-mate, incipio, boxwave) for different phones and have never gotten the chance to try out a Candyshell before so, thats why I was leaning towards it. That was very informative and helpful.

yeah, I don't think you can go wrong with the candyshell. It is pretty nice all around. Especially if you don't care to have the ports covered, then this is just as good or better than the otterbox for you.
I just wanted to update... The Speck case IS NOT my idea of a case. It is too thick, and adds too much bulk to an otherwise slim phone without providing the best coverage. The rubber is annoying...Would NOT purchase this case. I am returning in the morning. I want to stick to the otterbox commuter.
The Incipio Feather does, in fact, come in black. I just bought one this morning when I picked up my Atrix at RadioShack.

$10 TPU Case From eBay

Background
I buy exensive devices, but I never want to buy expensive or large cases for my devices. I personally believe cases wreck the look and feel of a device, so if I am going to get one, I go minimalistic as possible. This is where the TPU case comes in.
TPU cases are nice because they fit tightly around the device and do not add much thickness or weight. They are better than your typical rubber, plastic, or silicone because they do not attract dust and hair and whatnot, while also being much studier.
The main thing I wanted to do was find the cheapest case I could and this one came out to $10, which is much better than paying $80 for a Zenus Prestige, or a Melko for over $100. This case was $10 and had free expedited shipping from a US seller and got here in 2 days.
Now About the Case
It comes in different colors, like white, smoke, and black. I chose the smoke so you could still see through the back a little bit. When it arrived it was in a padded envelope which was fine. It fits my Tab 10.1 quite well with all of the cutouts for buttons, headphone jack, speakers, mic, and 30 pin directly centered over where they should be. The only issue I have is that it is a tiny bit loose on the long sides, probably due to the numerous cutouts. Even with that issue it seems well made and adds some protection against dings, scratches, and drops and it doesnt attract dirt and things like that when you set it down. For $10 you really can't go wrong.
This case is for people that want to keep the same overall shape of the device, but have a little protection. This and a screen protector would keep the device protected well. It is for people that do not want to deal with the flaps and folds from the stand cases and it is also for people that are cheap like me.

Thank you, this case is exactly what I want. I was unsure what it would look like, but thanks to your pics I can see that it looks great. I'm buying one now.
I went ahead and ordered the tpu case. I hope it's much better than the **** gel case I ordered a couple weeks ago. That Chinese black gel case on ebay is low quality and poor fitment.
I use the same case for my tab I got a good deal on ebay with some high quality screen protectors included.
I also use a cheap neoprene case I bought from amazon
http://www.amazon.co.uk/SAMSUNG-P71...2C/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1310663987&sr=8-11
This is useful when transporting the Tab in the boot of my car and doubles as a stand if I roll it up and prop the Tab up on it.
TPU is definately the material of choice for this kind of case and the grip pattern at each end of the case make it easier to hold the Tab.
R
Love this case. The tab feels better holding. More grip for sure.
Just got mine today from ebay, i really love this. It feel so much better than having a naked tablet i just will never let my tab touch the ground lol
I got a black version from eBay and it arrived yesterday. Very nice because it's not see-thru, it's totally black and makes the Tab very stealthy... Build quality is good considering the price of $12 with free shipping.

Does it seem durable if it was dropped or banged around? I would like to be able to bring it anywhere outdoors and keep it protected fairly well.

Anyone got this case? It seems awfully similar to an Otterbox Commuter, but possibly less bulky due to the silicon an acrylic portions being joined as one. I was just wondering how it compares as far as shock/drop protection.
**Update 6.29.12**
Got my phone and case yesterday and here's my review on it
Not gonna be long winded here, just short and to the point. The silicone sleeve fits perfectly although the lack of the hard plastic shell extending over the top and bottom parts of the sleeve do allow for the sleeve to be pushed back in those areas if you were to say, put the phone in the pocket of your skinny jeans. Glad I don't have to worry about that as nothing about me is skinny, not even my jeans. Once the sleeve is on, the hard plastic shell snaps into place much easier than that of the Otterbox, and you don't have to worry about trying to get the shell over the buttons like on the Otterbox either. The shell has a matte look and feel to it, looks very sexy and feels good too but the finish is a bit too smooth/slippery IMO. The Otterbox on my Atrix 2 was just plastic and it was much less slippery when holding it. The thing that surprised me the most is how little bulk it adds to the phone and how little lint the silicone sleeve attracts. I wear cargo pants at work, cream colored one's, and I keep the phone in one of the side pockets...the sleeve on my Otterbox would attract lint from them, although it was cleaned away by simply blowing on the effected area right quick. I've had this phone in and out of my pocket all day and it's relatively lint free. With the case all installed the power and volume buttons are very easy to press, even allowing you to hear and feel the "click" of each press, it feels as if you don't even have anything covering the buttons. The cut outs for the charger/headphone jack ports and the microphones are precise and spot on allowing unobstructed access to them all.
The only things I would change is I would make the shell a different texture, something with a bit more grip and I'd add covers/plugs for the charger/headphone jack ports so they are protected when not in use. Other than that, a great case that hopefully won't get tested for durability anytime soon
I'd recommend this case for sure, it's sleek and sexy and adds to the look of this sexy beast of a phone. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 9.
i just ordered one yesterday.

I checked out some videos on youtube and this case is pretty much their version of the Otterbox, the main difference is this one doesn't have covers for the charger and headphone jacks. Check the video
I think i'm gonna get this case instead of the Otterbox. I liked the Incipio case I had for my Sony Ericcson x10i and since the Otterbox isn't set to be released until July I figured this would be the way to go. Amazon has them for $24.38 shipped

Tracking info rcvd! These guys dont play around! At this rate the case is gonna beat the phone

Does anyone have experience with both the SILICRYLIC DualPro Hard Shell Case with Silicone Core and the NGP Semi-Rigid Soft Shell Case?

These were both linked previously. I just wanted to put them here for ease of viewing.
I like how the NGP is thinner and less bulky but don't know if it will provide enough drop protection.
I've had a Silicryllic on a Gnex and HTC Titan...
Very good case for protection, definitely will take a pretty big hit as it has some give in it to absorb shock. Also gives the screen some decent face down protection too as it comes around the side better than most hard cases. It's no defender, but it's much more pocketable on those two 4.7" devices.
The only issue I ever had was the rubber catches more pocket lint than most cases, but that's just a quick cleaning every week or two, or just hit the shirt once a day with it.
EDIT: I'll probably get one for this eventually as I like to have a thin everyday case (already ordered a Rock quicksand) to protect against everyday scratches when setting it down/falling out of hand, etc, and a bulkier one for events, outdoor stuff, or just yardwork/housework/garage days.
Thanks for the link! I was about to pull the trigger on this Candyshell by Speckproducts but they are out of stock of the black so I ended up buying the Incipio instead.

Slimmest case available for the HTC 10?

I currently own the Spigen Neo Hybrid, which I thought was slim:

But it's not that much, really... The slimmest I could find was the Spigen Thin Fit, but it's not that much slimmer:
Is there anything slimmer out there?
I have that case... Try using it without the border....
I also have the seidio case... I just use the inner cushion part... It doubles as a thin case cuz I can see their logo on it... I don't think you can go much thinner
I didn't measure but I have a cheap Chinese TPU case and it looks less than a mm. It was less than $1 shipped.
I have the nillkin nature TPU case. Perfect fit, and only 0.5-0.6mm thickness. Not much "bulk" added at all when used.

Don't really like it without the border and it's still too bulky.

Care to provide a link where I can find a similar case?

I don't really like those kind of "translucent" cases... Had one for my previous phone and with time it became yellowish and ugly.
I also have the Nillkin nature, and yeah, most of these transparent cases do discolor over time, but for only $5 I'll pick up another one when that happens. As far as the case itself goes, I had one of those $1 TPU cases and the mold was a little loose, in particular the sides had a tendency to bulge outwards so I would definitely check the reviews and images before pulling the trigger on one of those. The Nillkin one is pretty spot on and the buttons feel much clickier. Nillkin also have a hard case that's almost as thin as the Nature case, I'll put a link below:

+1 for the Nillkin, I also have this, some months now and not even remotely going yellow.
I have had cheap brand ones in the past that went yellow before now so holding hope this one will not do that.
Good case, light, slim and easy to remove if wanting to run naked around the streets for a bit

I am really liking this case, the pictures look great.
I am currently enjoying the Spigen thin Fit case, but will be grabbing one of these, thanks for sharing. :good:
--------------
I had a 'barely there' case by Casemate on my M8, and was hoping they would bring it to the 10, but it seems they have discontinues that case for whatever reason.
Watch out for the spigen case, it has some issues with flash when using the camera. Otherwise it's solid.

This is the one I bought: link
It doesn't look exactly like the picture, but it was really inexpensive. I like the look of the HTC 10 so I got a clear case. I also figured that if it yellows a bit, I could always get a replacement for really cheap.

Mind posting some actual pictures of the case on and off the phone, please? :good:

Thank you kindly, looks real nice, especially for that price.
Do you suggest it?
I do. I have a more rugged case also, but only use that rarely because I feel safe enough with the thin case.
Thanks. Bought 3 of them just in case they get yellowish since they are so cheap and if I don't like it, well, too bad...
I've been rocking the Imak cowboy case (there's a review of it somewhere here). Keep in mind it'll probably have little impact protection but if all you're needing is scratch protection I find it perfect.
Slimmest case by far for me would be the included case from Yelun that was bundled with the TGSP. I've gone used only the HTC Ice View, Nillkin, and Spigen Crystal (I think).

I grabbed 2 myself.
For 77 cents, can't go wrong.
I'm at that point where I love my 10 but no longer treat it like a baby, so I still want some protection against surface scratches and what not, but still want to be able to enjoy the device.
Hopefully it holds up as well as the M8 did for me. Bought it on release day, used it up until the 10 release day, in just a slim case, not screen protector, and it's still in mint condition.
X-Level probably makes some of the best slim cases I have ever used. I first discovered them for my M8 when I visited Hong Kong and I've gotten them for all my phones since then: http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-Level-Lux...hash=item1a1de87d40:m:m4lwJH0dcr1dceg1As9H-EQ
They're also really cheap which is nice.
This is one of the nicest and slimmest that I've used: http://www.ebay.com/itm/360-Protect...hash=item3d2066daa1:m:mJx-cwyQu1UTdGuV1gRW8gw

Finally an Ultra Thin Case I love - Elago

So, I was looking for a new skin on my phone when I realized that I didn't want to do a wrap. If you're like me, you'll spend $10 and then remove the skin in like a week. After that you'll have to buy another one if you want to go through the process again. I'm not 100% into cases because of bulk and this is a damn sexy phone.
I scoured a few different places looking for a white thin case when I came across this: ELAGO THIN CASE
Here are my pros:
Fit is perfect
Cut outs are exact
This actually feels like it could be part of the phone
Has a Matte White look
Not TPU, its a hard plastic
Lots of compliments just in one day
Cons (Keep in mind, these are things people may not like but doesn't bother me)
Phone is still a little slippery
Buttons are now a bit more flush with the case
Zero lip over the glass to put upside down
The cut outs are exact so accessories are about 1mm from being perfect
I'm going back for the other two colors. This is an awesome case. Does anyone else have any ultra thin cases they can recommend.

Is there a promo code for that one? Kinda high in price.
got this today, it's going back. I have a skin on my phone, the case went on with ease on top of that and was still not snug
I got the Anccer in gravel black:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XTQKJY8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Preserves "caseless" feel, super grippy.
Do not spend 10 USD for just re-branded case.
Buy the exact same one just for 4USD.

Good call.
Edit: Just went to the link. I just don't like AliExpress. I had problems with them in the past. 20-39 days for a case when I can get it in 2 days from Amazon, meh... I'll pay the difference.

Really? That's a bummer. Mine fits perfect and has no movement. I don't have any sort of skin. I wonder if that's throwing off the fit.

It looks just as good in person.
Needs a top and bottom lip. Put your phone face down and it will scratch.

Nope. User a screen protector.. Cases with lips exist. This is for absolute minimalists.
Just went to the mailbox to get the Elago case I ordered after seeing this thread. I'm coming from the Spigen Slim case and, even by comparison, the Elago is ridiculously thin! I love it, but it definitely needs to be paired with a screen protector in order to keep the phone somewhat safe.
It is probably not nearly as thin as that case, but I usually buy Ringke Fusion cases for every phone I get. I love the way it adds the extra tactile feel to the buttons, and has saved me from many drops even on asphalt and hard concrete. I'm not sure how it is on the S8+ yet as my S8+ is not here yet. but I've used Ringke Fusion cases on OP3T, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, Xperia Z3, and I have loved it on every phone.

Not even close.
Just a heads up. The Elago scratches and scuffs pretty easily. Not that I expected much from such an inexpensive case but, I've been babying my black Elago and, within 24 hours it already has 4 or 5 long scuff marks across the back. Not a big deal, just thought I'd mention. It would've been nice if they had used the same type of rubberized finish found on the Spigen and Ringke slim cases.
