Anyone knows decent screen protector? - LG V20 Accessories

I'm trying to find screen protector that covers entire screen. I don't like tempered glass. I bought ArmorSuit MilitaryShield however the screen does look clear at all, it is kind of grainy mostly when you look at bright background, it is really annoying. Seriously, the original lg protector was way better but it didn't cover entire screen.
Any suggestions?

This is thread about tempered glass bro, nothing to do with regular screen protectors.

Sorry I misunderstood. I've been using Xtremeguard on things for years. A quick Google search for coupons will net you 80-92% off. Otherwise they're crazy priced.

I've tried several and they never seem to fit right because our screens have a tiny curve on the upper and lower portions so the screen protector doesn't fully adhere to those parts.. smh, that sucks..

I am looking one that is clear and covers entire screen. I am really surprised that is so hard to do it. I haven't any problems to find few screen protectors for my edge in the past.
Maybe because v20 is new kid on the market?

I'm using a Skinomi wet apply protector and am pretty pleased with it. It's pretty clear and doesn't feel too soft.

Is it really clear? Or it is hazy? Or it the visibility is compared to original lg screen protector?

It's a wet apply protector, so you can notice it at times, but it's clear. It can get some texture in it if you put your nail into it, but it's pretty self healing. I wouldn't say it's grainy at all.

I ordered a ZAGG self-healing screen protector, it should be coming in the mail today. Admittedly I'm a bit biased to them, as I've never had a single problem with a ZAGG screen for all the years I've used them. Plus, the free return/exchange thing is pretty nice.
I'll post here or update this one when I put it on.

Screen Protector that retains the stock glass feel

Are there any protectors out there that retain the bare glass feel? I don't care about finger prints or glare, just don't want any scratches I've fallen in love iwth how smooth the screen is
Yeah, I do have the same question. Digging through the 'Best Brand for screen protectors?' and can not find clear answer.
I even do not care to pay more for the ultra clear and same touch feel.
People, you did bought a lot of different brands. Could you please consolidate the feelings after week(s) of usage, anyone?
I have the PhantomSkinz on my Captivate, and I have a zagg on my zune HD. I also tried a ClearFreak on the Captivate for a week or so before the PhantomSkinz came in. Long story short, phantomskinz is a bit better than zagg, and both of them are much much better than the clearfreak. I wrote up a post comparing the three and posted pics here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7420035&postcount=22

SKINOMI.
Though you can feel the edges of the case protector, the screen protector is beautiful.
It is something like .08mm thick and adheres completely flush. I am a new fan of skinomi and love the picture/screen quality with it.

Hmm I will have to look into that I ordered a Seidio ultra clear last night (2 pack) so maybe I'll do a comparison
I use Realook on mine. It smudges up pretty bad but when its clean it looks fantastic. There is no adhesive so you can pull it up pretty easily and you get the standard two in a pack. The camera lens cover is a bit of a pain, the thing is so small its hard to keep fingerprints off the back side when putting it on but I got it on in the end.

That's a good question. It sounds overpriced if you need only one kind, e.g. clear transparent. But if it's great it may worth it to buy. I would like to get a feedback.
I just got my two realook screens today. They do smudge easily but its not any worse then without the protector. It went on easily and I have one small bubble on the upper left corner which I am sure will go away in a day. Overall I am very happy with it, and for $11 for two shipped to my house, I couldn't pass it up.

How do they feel compared to the stock glass screen?
I had an Invisible Sheild full body skin...didn't like it. It wasn't super clear and was a little sticky, I just swapped my phone at AT&T today and they talked me into the screen covers they sell, I guess its new? 3 for $10, so far I like it 100x better than invisible shield, much clearer and closer to the glass feel!
Just got my Seidio protectors in yesterday They were really easy to install and left zero bubbles that were hard to remove. The clarity is awesome - I can't tell that there's a protector installed by looking at it. The surface does seem a bit less smooth than the glass, but I can live with it!

I bought two Skinomi's from Amazon (thinking I might screw up first installation). sure enough, I did screw it up first time, leaving big bubbles. But the second try went down perfectly (you gotta be very careful not to let fluid get into edges of phone during installation).
But ... in the end I found it felt like too much drag when swiping the screen compared to the naked screen. Difficult decision - I'll be really pee'd off if I scratch it, but I'm going naked for now - I'm just gonna be super careful.
I picked up some of the Skinguardz and they definitely have a rubbery feel.
I ordered SGP. Will let you know how it works when it will be delivered.

That is what I got at my local ATT store. They are alright, but at least they are super clear.
Apparently Martin Fields now has Captivate protectors in stock too. I've never used them personally, but I've read a lot a reviews that people swear by them -- a bit pricey though.

Just got the realook protector from amazon in today and replaced the gadgetguard I was never satisfied with. Can't believe the difference- looks and feels like nothings there. And the install was leagues easier and foolproof.

and say no to bestskinever or invisshield/zagg if you want a smooth feel screen protector, i have them both for my cellphones and camera, which is very nice, but i dont think it will be nice if i put it on my touchscreen devices...

I can't find an anti-glare screen protector

I'm getting the phone soon, and I want an anti-glare one. I looked on ebay and can't find any.
*edit* I realized I didn't even ask anything. Can anyone point me to a website where I can buy an anti-glare screen protector?
Boxwave, AT&T, and Skinomi all have anti-glare screen protectors. I'm sure there are more but those are the ones I know off the top of my head.
SGP's Steinheil Ultra Fine Film (available directly from the SGP Store site) is another option.

Gorilla glass..
I 'm waiting also my atrix..
and i ordered from ebay screen protectors..
they said its anti-glare, but i dont think so.. because its very cheap..
anw.. do we really need screen protector?
it makes less-sensitive the screen..
it hasnt got good antiglare action..
it may not be exactly at the size of the screen
the screen is gorilla glass.. it is necessary to have extra protection?
is gorilla glass really un-scratchable?
from keys the gorilla glass it doesnt make any scratches..
but with something stronger?
e.g phone falls..
if the screen brakes, the screen protector wont prevent it from breaking..
if anyone has atrix or any gorilla-glass phone without screen protector
and believes it's not necessary,
please just inform us!
Do not buy wrapsol screen protector. They are extremely hard to put on and it dims the screen quite bad. Its the one with anti fingerprints. Also, the installation is a pain. There is no room for error. Any dust or lint trapped between the glass and the protector can not be removed with tape. It will beforever there. Im just thinking of removing it since my protector has full of unremovable dirt..

I found it not too bad to apply. Make sure you're in a dust free environment (close the door in the bathroom and turn on the shower - hot - for a few minutes to steam things up).
I've messed up quite badly on an installation (got some lint stuck between the screen and protector) and was able to rectify the problem by washing the protector with soap and water and then reapplying it. Worked great!
there is what your looking for. these are the ones that have the Matte finish to them. i had these on my HD2 but now i bought the Invisible ones for my Atrix.

The best I've found is from www.nushield.com. I've used their screen products for years now on touch gps screens, Tilt2 and camera screens. Their DayVue film is great.

And with Atrix Screen you dont really need antiglare
I bought the ones from att. I have had protectors on all my phones, out of necessity after scratching a new phone. I don't care for the att ones. They do ok for glare, but are horrible for the clarity of the screen. I am going to take it off. I went for about 2 weeks before I installed it. I really don't want to use one, but I live in Florida and the glass just reflects the sunlight soo well, which in turn really brings out the finger smudges. So I'll get another brand.

Atrix screen protector

I've been considering getting a screen protector for a while now. The problem I have is my hands sweat very badly (gross I know) and then the touch screen on my phone goes crazy from the water on the screen. I have never had this problem with any phone I've had before now. I think it is because the Atrix touch screen is more sensitive than any other phone I've had. I was wondering if a screen protector would fix this problem and what some good brands were to try. Thanks
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
You should always have a screen protector on any smart device you care about. One grain of sand in your pocket can ruin your screen (and your day). That said....
A screen protector will likely NOT fix your problem, as water (sweat) registers as a capacative touch. For a screen protector to "fix" the registration of sweat, it would have to also "fix" the registration of a desired capacitive touch (finger, stylus, or otherwise).
The only manner in which a screen protector could help is if you could find a very hydrophobic one (the repells and beads water), though you would still need to soak up that water with your shirt or a handkerchief or something. I'm not sure they even sell these. Google is your friend, here. Use keywords hydrophobic and/or water-repellent. Good luck, my friend, and let us know if you find anything interesting!

I tried few of a kind and decided to go with Otterbox Defender case which has a transparent front panel.
Refurbished case is about $20-25 and as good as a new one.
No need for screen protector. No mess with applying one...
What if I put on an average screen protector and then sprayed it with some form of water repellent?

Water repellent spray wouldn't work because the screen protectors are vinyl or polyurethane and are not absorbent. Those hydrophobic sprays only work with an absorbent material like cloth or real leather.

I have to disagree with the statement that you have to have a screen protector, we have gorilla glass! I have never had a protector and my screen looks great! As for this situation, a protector that has a little rubberized feel might work well. I would read reviews on Amazon and buy the one that people complain the most about it sticking!

FWIW, my wife has been w/o a screen protector since April and I've been with / without one on and off since June.
Still not a single scratch on either phone, however, without one the screen is too smooth, so I'm thinking of going back installing one.
Hope this helps...
I went without a screen protector for a few months. I took the phone outside and noticed TONS of very fine scratches. You could only see them in direct sunlight, but it bothered me enough that I got a screen protector shortly thereafter.
I was thinking to buy a Vikuiti ADQC27. Has anyone tried it?
Thanks
I have to second the rec for the Otterbox Defender case. Having the screen protector built in is pretty awesome and in my experience, it has withstood all kind of liquidy stuff on it and plenty of goopy stuff as well. Like those technical terms?
It hasn't hampered my touch screen through various roms with various sensitivities and my glowing review hasn't even hit all the protection benefits it gives.
Best part? I got mine for about $10 'used' on ebay and while the silicone part was a little loose, a quick email to Otterbox got me a free placement in the mail without any hassle.
I haven't used one myself, but if they make one for the Atrix and if it's what you are really looking for, Zagg stuff has made some of my friends really happy.
You should look into a Matte one where is almost smudge free
altho it looks slightly foggy and scratch easily, but its worth it
make sure u get like a few togehter on ebay so you have backup ones

Can you suggest any brand? Something like the GreatShield Ultra Anti-Glare (Matte)?
I have one on mine, steinheil (SGP), while the protector gets scratched its better than the screen getting scratched.
Can't really tell the SGP ultra crystal protector is on the screen either, other than the few scratches that are on the protector now. Comes with 2 in a package if you get them.
They have an oleophobic one that is suppose to be oil resistant, maybe that one might be ideal? The ultra fine is their matted one.
If you look at the product on their webpage the 'Select a Color' changes the type of protector they have (took me a min to find the different versions they had when I looked again).
Last while the corning glass is tough, with a vickers hardness of 622kgf/mm2 in the unstrengthened and 701 in the strengthened stuff is pretty impressive.
Spec sheet for the glass can be found from corning's site using a google search, made me curious to check it.
While pretty hard something as simple and common as sand can scratch it which has a vickers hardness of about 1000....
Keys, lighters and the like are unlikely to scratch it though as unless its hardened tool steel its hardness will likely be below 650, an edge on a tungsten ring could probably do the trick though.
Anyhow I keep one on my phone, though maybe not really necessary I'd rather have a scratched screen protector than see the glass get scratched.

Zagg and Skinomi are quite nice. I like the Skinomi on my tablet maybe even a bit better than the Zagg on the Atrix, but the difference is very minimal. I'd say the Skinomi may slide slightly better than the Zagg, but you're splitting hairs.
I agree with BeakHill. SGP is great except they scratch easier than Zagg. The Ultra crystal is so clear that they don't even have a cut out for the front camera. The Ultra fine is their matte model and it is good and smooth, the crystal is nicer IMO..
The problem with SGP is they spoil you to the other brands, and they are more expensive.

Not optics but i can vouch for ultra crystal clear
I had it on a different phone and I loved it. I will probably pick it up.
It actually saved my screen! That is why I will never have trouble recommending it.
Its a hard screen protector.
Something sharp it my screen with force, dead on center and I saw the entire thing shatter - spider cracks throughout it. I then took off the screen protector and the screen was UNTOUCHED! The screen protector took all the force! The spider cracks were throughout the steinheil screen protector! Since then they are my favourite brand.
You will see smudges on the screen and fingerprints, but thats just like the normal glass anyway. Its very smooth and very clear.

Spider cracks you mean? I wish i had taken a photo but it was a year ago. I closed the center console door on top of my phone and forgot it had two points that protrude to hold a pen. Those points jammed right into the screen of the phone and it looked like the screen had cracked, but it was actually only the screen protector.
I was very relieved.
The crystal does have a high hardness rating.

I tried out the ultra crystal while waiting for my replacement FlexHD. Ultra crystal is very nice, but prone to fingerprints. Also the cut does not cover the whole screen. Aside from the fingerprints, which are to be expected on a "clear" protector, this is a very nice one but the minimal cut is not to my taste.
I can post pics if anyone is curious.

How well does this screen protector adhere to the screen?
I bought the Belkin Clear ScreenGuard protector for the SGS3 and the Belkin screen protector has started to "bubble" around the screen protector because of the curved nature of the SGS3 screen.

i personaly never used a screeprotector on any phone, but i do recommend a good case that absorps shocks/drops because the screen cracks easily as it seems because of its size.

I've had my Nexus since the 5th, no case/no scratches. I keep mine in a sleeve with fleece inside, I learned last time w/ my n4 that if you just put it in your pocket the glass will scratch from sand/dust/anything that may be in your pocket.. so I don't take chances anymore.
Everytime i didnt protect my phonescreen it had ended up with significant scratches so i would say yes

The best way to decide is to judge from your experience.
If you aim to prevent scratches:
Think about your last phone. You used a screen protector.
Did you change your screen protector? When you noticed that the protector have scratches on it, were you annoyed?
If you find out you actually don't care much about the minor scratches on the film, and you don't plan on selling your phone, you probably don't need one.
The glass is much more scratch resistant than any screen protector. If you can stand those scratches on the protector, you can stand those rare and minor ones on the glass. Save money and enjoy the glass.
Just remember, never place your phone face down, nor wipe it with a dirty cloth. The sand particles will scratch the screen.
Of course, if deep scratches regularly appear in your case, you might want screen protectors.
On the other hand, there are protectors which tries to prevent the screen from cracking. I would recommend those if you don't want a case.
A case with raised lips is already very effective at preventing scratches/shatter as it keeps the screen away from the ground.
installed a skinomi screen and body protecting film, love it, love it, love it. Doesn't do much for drops, otherwise awesome product and adds the perfect amount of grip. This was an issue for me having the white version.
I prefer the Zagg screen protectors from Best Buy and I'll pay them the extra money to install it. The few times I have installed them on my own I get dust or fingerprints, those guys install thousands and in my opinion are worth paying to take the hassle out of it

It depends on how clean you keep your hands at all times and the environment you're regularly in.
Yes...but which one? Since 11-4 I've stayed with the screen protector from the factory. Tired of looking through the "nexus5," I'll decide today which one to use in its place. Any suggestions? The list is:
UltraClear that came with the Spigen Ultra Hybrid
TechArmor HD Clear (3-pack)
iSmooth Ultra Clear (3-pack)
XtremeGuard Full Body (2pc) - damaged in shipment, so this one is out
I don't understand why anybody would consider not using a screen protector. IMO it's cheap insurance. Properly installed, you don't even know they are there. You get fingerprints either way you go.
It's a no brainer for me.

I don't have any experience with those screen protectors... But I am using the Spigen Crystal Clear 3pk and I'm quite happy with it (very good clarity and not sticky when swiping my finger across the screen).

Thanks. Whichever I select for now, it's merely a placeholder until early December when I can get my hands on the new Spigen glas.tr nano slim.
I had a screen protector on my Amaze for about the first 2 months. Then it looked absolutely terrible with scrapes and bubbles and crap. Plus I hated the tactile feel. So I took it off and for the last year and a half I've gone naked. The screen has no marks of any kind on it. If my N5 ever gets here I'll be putting on a Cruizerlite case but no screen protector.

I have used the wet apply ones in the past (Zagg, Bodyguardz, and Skinomi). They all seem a bit sticky when swiping across them. The Zagg while being the priciest do remain scratch free better than the other two brands.
Recently I've decided to just use the cheaper multi packs and as I've said, the Spigen linked above works for me. I do see micro scratches on the protector when I LOOK for them in direct sunlight but the clarity is still very good.
I see no point in spending so much for a screen protector when I'll get a new Nexus phone next year

I used to hate the plastic static or sticky type multi pack screen protectors until figuring out it should be installed in a bathroom after steaming it up to reduce dust. You can lift the screen protector and use a piece of Scotch tape to remove the dust.
