How to prevent the default removal of the Stock apps when using the Open GApp? - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

What exactly do I have to write in the config file?
I have the super GApps package and it replaces the stock CyanogenMod Apps like Camera, Launcher etc.
I have tried reading opengapps/wiki/Advanced-Features-and-Options , but unable to find a solution.
I want all Apps in the super package, but I don't want it to replace the Camera, Launcher and Gallery.
Can someone please make a txt file for me?
Does this work with all recovery? I am using modified TWRP 3.0.2(twrp-3.0.2-2_blu_spark.v41-onyx_by-engstk) for OnePlus X.

download the andriod kitchen.
use the kitchen to extract the files and remove those apks that you don't want.
then repack the zip using the kitchen and flash it.
just do a search on xda and you will find the android kitchen.
i will agree with the kitchen too i am using it today and i am amazed of what you can do....
in addition you can just open the rom in winrar, go to /system/app and just delete the apps you don't want the rom will update itself!!!
then on your phone you should toggle the signed verification and install it

is there any other file i need to delete or just the .apk? and would you mind telling me what addition features does the kitchen offer?
thanks in advance=)
if the rom is odexed you should delete the .odex file too....it should be below the .apk
the kitchen has anything you want to do with a rom.....zipalign, a2sd, busybox and you can edit any file from the rom.....!!!!
Thanks! would def try out the kitchen when new roms are out=)
i really recommend it to you to start NOW you can customize the rom as you like at every possible way.....even ringtones, languages, alarm sound by default, images, colours, apps, bootanimation and everything
you will need much reading though especially when customizing framework

[Q] Stock MMS app

I installed the stock MMS.apk file on my de'odexed stock rom (rooted of course). Everything worked well and the app runs, but when reading text threads there is an ugly white border around the edge of the screen, its strange. Its not present when viewing the list of conversations, only in the thread view. I'm not sure if that's how its supposed to look or not, but if not, anyone have any idea how to fix this?
I'll get a screenshot up as soon as I get home.
I first obtained the MMS.apk from the cyanogen rom, then thinking that it might be modified and thus creating my problem, I grabbed the AOSP version from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789493
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
UPDATE:
Found another thread where people are experiencing the same issue, apparently its a problem with how sense handles the application:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=752604
I attempted to open up the Mms.apk (AOSP version) with APKtool and play around with the xml files for the UI, but wasn't able to get it to recompile and test any changes I made, the app would just crash on launch. I simply made a few changes to the colors, but I admittedly don't really know what I'm doing and it wouldn't run. If anyone who's more experienced in this area could offer some advice I'll try again.
That's a picture of the issue, it appears in both landscape and portrait mode.
Texts were blacked out just for privacy sake.
Well after a few hours of messing around in the XML files for the AOSP messaging app, I was able to find a solution to this issue. I modified the XML file to have it correctly display the black color background when using the black theme. I was not able to eliminate the border entirely, but by changing the scrollbar type from Inset to Overlay I was able to make it uniform and far more visually pleasing.
I have attached my modified Mms.apk file, feel free to test it out.
For the specifics of what I did for those who are interested:
Two files were modified in the apk
- /res/layout/compose_message_activity.xml
- /res/layout/compose_message_activity_black.xml
In both files I changed the scrollbarStyle propery to "insideOverlay", in addition to removing the reference to always show the scrollbar track.
In the black xml file I changed the background color to "@android:color/black".
The original XML files were extracted using APKTool and Recompiled to their binary format, then reinserted into the original apk without resigning.
This is awesome! ... Except it doesn't filter out the VVM message streams that come through. :|
I haven't encountered this problem though I use google voice so I'm not really sure what it is you're referring to.

i zipped the file with the one that had the white outline .is there a way to make this new apk. file into a .zip file for me ?
I'd imagine you could simply replace the APK file in your zip with my modified one and install that way. Use a program like winrar or 7zip to replace the apk within the zip.

sorry but i cant find either of thoses programs u mention to replace the APK file in my zip with your modified version .is there another program or a manual way of doing this process ?
how do i install this? since it's an APK, i thought i'd just install it from Astro but it says it's already installed and asked if i wanted to uninstall.
To install this you need to either delete or rename the Mms.apk that's already on your phone in the /system/app directory (I just rename to Mms.apk.bak) and then copy the modified one into that same directory followed by a restart of the phone. Because its a system app you cant install it the same way you would a regular apk, at least from my understanding.
You will need to get write access to the system directory to accomplish this (I used an app on the market called root explorer, though you can also do all this through the ADB shell)

[Q] One click install all apk file?

Hi. Sometimes(most of the time) whenever we wish to switch to try another custom ROM, we have to wipe all data and hence all the downloaded app will gone. As a result of that, before we even flash new ROMs, we have to do a back-up of all the downloaded app, turning them into apk file into our SD card so that its easier to again reinstall those app.
My question is, is there any app that we can use to install ALL the apk files in our SD Card all at once in just a click of one or two taps? Because its tedious for us to actually install those apps one by one. Especially for me that have installed many apps in my Desire HD.
Thank you. =)
Well, your google backup restores all the market apps automatically, so you do not need to worry about those.
You can copy your apk files into /data/app/ in the rom zip file. Then you do not even have to install them, they will be ready to use immediately.
Oh yea.. I did not even thought of that. Lol. Thank you so much.

[Q] Memo with sync and without?

Hi,
in the 2.3.4 with the SGS2 the memo app has the function to sync with Google docs, nice
thats what iam waiting since my "old" SGS1 !
But i also want that on my old SGS1 and on my SGT is it possible to install there also?
Can someone extract the new memo apk, and would that work?
No one has a sulution?
Did you find anything, because I also would need it.
I know this is an old thread, but you can install the SGS2 software on your SGS1, but you will need to install the touchwiz framework and TW framework jar file to the system/framework folder of your SGS1.... then you will need to add this app and any other SGS2 app that you want but via adding it to system as a system app. You may not be able to install it directly or you may get a message like "application not installed" push via adb maybe or use rootbrowser (its free here on XDA)

How to locate required items to make .apk work (lib, framework, etc)

I've been looking into manually installing some .apk apps on a nosense custom rom.
Mainly system linked .apk files.
Next to having the apk file for installing an app how do i find the rest of the files required for the app to work?
Normally the system apps have many more files spread over the libs, framework, addon, etc folders.
Trying to findout how to locate those extra items.
Thanks for the help.
You mean like the Sense Camera? No one has ported sense stuff to non-sense ROMs before, most likely before HTC Sense is closed source.

that's kinda tricky to explain here, you should look for some guides out there... it isn't very easy believe me
was hoping there was a way i can use a program or so to check the apk data itself for the files it requires.
Use to mod some games and inside one of the data files you'd always find the dir and link to the files it's attached to.
Looking for something like that basicly.
If i were to findout for example which lib files the polaris office.apk uses i can push those to system (together with every other file it needs to work) and it should endup working just fine.
with nosense i actually mean what RENOVATE and Revolution HD call it when they actually use sense+ but then remove most of the sense junk and run a launcher over that. So any htc files will work just fine, they only need to be installed with every background files too.
