My Accessories for the V20: Skinomi, Incipio, Slickwraps - LG V20 Accessories

Skinomi TechSkin
I decided to get Skinomi's wet-application screen protector since the V20's slightly curved glass results in tempered glass screen protectors being cut too short. This is the full coverage version and not the case friendly one they sell. I attached some images, but more can be seen in the following imgur link:
LG V20 Skinomi TechSkin
I'd recommend it if you prefer having more of the glass covered. I usually opt for Skinomi or IQ Shield (both are pretty much the same company) products for devices that don't have totally flat displays. I took the pictures two days after I installed the screen protector.
Pros:
Full coverage
The surface is smooth and doesn't feel rubbery
Display clarity isn't affected
Cutouts are exact for the camera and sensors
Blends in well with the phone
Great warranty support
Cons:
Fingerprint magnet
Lint likes to collect along the sides
Orange peel effect at certain angles, but only noticeable with the screen off
It can be indented if you happen to catch it with your nail, but it tends to smooth out on its own
Incipio
Carnaby Esquire Series: Nicely designed case and fits perfectly. Don't really have anything negative to say about it, except for the price. Thankfully, I got it while it was on sale. Also, both this case and the NGP are compatible with the Skinomi screen protector.
Imgur link to more pictures
NGP Advanced: Between the two, this is my favorite. It provides great grip and is slightly thinner. I wish the power button cutout was slightly larger/more angled, but I can still use the fingerprint sensor fine.

Slickwraps
I got the matte black skin from Slickwraps. I was going to go with dbrand, but since they were having a sale at the time, I knew shipping for it would be delayed by at least a week. The SW skin fits perfectly and doesn't affect case compatibility. It also comes with sections for the top and bottom, but I've only installed it for the back plate.

I got it too, however if you use a case yiu will noticed peeling at the sides
I wish it could be 2mm shorter on each side.

I'm using it also. I've had it on for 3 weeks and my bumper case has not affected it.

I wish I could cut this screen protector just about 1mm on each side. Is it possible?
I use spigen case.

Sorry for the late reply. Skinomi sells a case friendly version of their screen protector. I believe it's the same height, but they cut the sides shorter for case compatibility. That said, both of my Incipio cases work great with the Skinomi screen protector.

that SlickWrap black matte looks nice! does the camera section fit perfectly such that it would be hard to remove? I have a plastic film over mine now, but noticed a few times when I take the case off that it pulls that off too

Why is it called NGP? It's the only thing that struck me about this case.

Spigen SGP Screen Protector and Skinomi DryTech HTC One X Skin Protector

So i just received my Spigen SGP Anti-fingerprint ultra fine screen protector and Skinomi DryTech HTC One X Skin protector today.
For those thinking of getting both or either one of these, here are my first impression...
I'm returning the Skinomi DryTech, doesn't fit right. The cutout for the rear 5-pin and speaker holes doesn't fit properly. It covers one of the gold pins and part of the speaker holes. The camera cutout a bit too big. Maybe i'm just too fussy, but i'm so used to BestSkinsEver type of fit, very minimal gaps and very close precise fit. Guess i'll have to wait for BSE to come out with HOX skins. I've given up on Invisibleshield ever since they added Zagg to their name, quality just wasn't the same.
Next, Spigen SGP Anti-Fingerprint Ultra fine Screen Protector Steinheil enhanced optical hard coated film. It doesn't cover the whole screen just the middle flat part. Although i'm not really happy with the fit, i'm keeping them until i find a better alternative.
I'll try post some pics, but the only camera i have now is the HOX camera..
update (12th May 2012):
Received the replacement full body skin from Skinomi, fits better but still not aligned 100% so they sending me another replacement.
Decide to try the Skinomi's DryTech Screen protector that came with the full body kit.. it fits to the edges of the curved surface, slightly rubbery feel, but not as bad as other skins i've tried. few micro bubbles right after installation, seems like the bubbles slowly disappearing. Will try it out a few weeks and update my views.
I don't think we'll ever find a traditional type of screen protector to cover the screen 100% because of the curvature of the edges. Best coverage would be from a flexible wet application screen protector ala BSE or IS. Downside would be the sticky orange peel texture.
I also received my SGP Ultra Fine Screen Protector today. I'm not opening it or keeping it. It has a matte appearance which isn't for me. I'll have to sell it on eBay or something. How much should I ask for?

I think u can return them for a full refund if u haven't opened it.
I'm thinking of getting Seidio Ultimate Screen Guard - Fingerprint Reducing and HD.
http://www.seidioonline.com/htc-one-x-fingerprint-reducing-and-hd-screen-guard-p/spm3htnxl-2.htm
According to the product description:
- Covers the front face of your device, including the screen and the proximity sensor with cut-outs for the home button, speaker and camera
I've listed it on eBay here

I think Skinomi has acknowleged that some of their screen protectors don't fit the back see here:

Apparantly after emailing them, Azzatar has been sent a replacement that should fit better. I'd try that.

^^this
only a wet applicating one is gonna cover close to 100% of the screen
Just to add the SGP doesn't even cover 100% of the flat part. Top to bottom acceptable, though there is a slight gap of about 1mm. Side coverage it only covers the part of the screen where the LCD is, with about 8mm gap, 4mm on each side before the glass starts to curve.
Hard to prove my point when i can't take a pic...

I think it's less noticeable if the protector dimensions are perfectly aligned with the LCD, the edge disappears when the phone is on, but very obvious when the phone is off. My wife has a Optimus 2X, which has a even wider curved bezel, and the screen protector is sized exactly to the display also.
I agree with the others that hard screen protectors won't fit to the edge of glass, unless they come pre-molded to the screen curvature, and this might not be possible with this type of material.
Anyone tried these guys:

Spigen faq page for the screen protectors
Why is the HTC One X Steinheil Series cut smaller than the display size?
Due to the curved screen of the HTC One X, dry application films cannot adhere to curved edges. Over time, the edges will bubble and attract dust and lint which will ultimately make the screen protector unusable. Cutting the screen protector to fit the maximum display area that is not curved ensures that the screen protector will protect your device's display longer without bubbling.

yup, but never expected it to cover such a small surface area. Thought it would at least cover till the edge just before the curve surface starts.

This is exactly what I have found with screen protectors that I have bought from eBay. They are far too narrow and am quite sure that making them wider would not adversely effect it.
It seems that there is a 'single manufacturing standard size' template, which then the majority of companies have adopted to base their One X screen protectors on.
I had SGP screen protector, it only covered the visible part of the screen. I ordered Skinomi DryTech at the same time, but the full body skin did not fit well. I used the SGP got about 2 weeks, then just today decided to installs the Skinomi DryTech screen protector, it fits the screen right to the edges. It feels slightly rubbery, but not as bad some of the previous ones I had, the orange peel is not that obvious. Just fresh instal there are a few micro bubbles, I'll wait few days and see how it .
As for the Skinomi full body skin, I'm still waiting for a 2nd replacement, the first replacement did not fit that good as well.

Guys did any anybody try the original htc screen protector?
http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php/6535/htc-one-x-screen-protector---2-piece--sp-p730-
Remember reading up on the original screen protector, it does not cover the whole screen and people were saying it was similar quality to the cheapo £3 ones from ebay.

100% full coverage screen protecto

is there such thing aside from the spigen curved one? i heard the spigen ones are garbage. i've used skinomi (they were all right, not as durable), they covered 95% of the screen. the zagg invisible shields were garbage, wasted 25$ and thought it covers the whole screen but it left a huge gap.
Try Tippin Screen protector.
tippin is where its at for full curved protectors.. just remember any case that wraps around the edge tightly is probably not compatible
Does this tippin cover as good if not better than SGP Curved Crystal? The reason I ask is the images on Amazon show that it does not cover the portion immediately above the ear speaker. I love the curved crystal except for the dents that won't disappear. Does the tippin have this problem? Thanks!
the tippin pretty much covers all. ear speaker, sensors+camera, and home button are cut out. if you press on it hard enough with your nail, itll leave a dent. will it go away eventually? dont know, probably not. i think the tippin scratches kind of easily. i noticed a small rainbow line. not sure if its a scratched screen protector or cracked glass. another thing about these screen protectors...you have a small margin for error for placement. i was ocd at first and wanted it on 100% perfect alignment. i tried the tape the side method. thought i had it on perfect, but nope. a small sliver didnt stick because it was on slightly to the left. took the whole thing off and could not put it on as good as before. i spent almost an hr, gave up and ended up with even worse alignment. so my advice is get it aligned the way you want it on the 1st try. since these were a ***** to apply, id like a screen protector thats between full and gapped coverage. but the clarity is good and i think it gets slightly less fingerprints than the naked screen.

The Spigen is good. I would say they are far superior to the Skinomi ones.
I went this route. This is now in my top spot for screen protectors.
http://chrismchoi.blogspot.com/2013/03/seidio-vitreo.html
This is what I use. It covers the entire screen and is smooth. It also seems to repel fingerprints and is somewhat scratch resistent. Most people looking at my phone can't even tell there is a screen protector on it.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I really like the Sigen Curved Crystal but am annoyed with the dents. When new, it is barely noticeable at all. I really wish this were available in more durable finish. The Seidio glass screen protector looks really nice but will not work with my case (Element Eclipse)
I am assuming the Realook is almost the exact same as the SGP curved crystal. The cutouts look the same and the hardness rating is the same. Do you notice dents that don't go away? If I were to use my fingernail to type, the screen protector would become pitted all over.

I don't notice any dents, but I use swype as my keyboard of choice. Do you push hard when texting? I let my 4 and 6 year old use my phone often, and I still don't notice much wear. There are a couple of tiny scrathes on my screen protector, and they are only noticeable in direct light at certain angles. I have had the protector on for about 3 months. My old protector (Zagg HD) showed fingernail dents and nicks about a week after I put it on.

the realook 3d forming is essentially the same thin material as the SGP curved crystal. It does dent very easily, but I do find that the dents flatten out and get much better after a day or two. It's not self-healing by any means, but the depth of the dents actually decreases and becomes almost invisible to the eye if the original dent isn't very deep. But I would echo everyone's advice on this thread: these full screen protectors most certainly will not work with almost every tpu case. Any tight fitting case will push up the corners of the protector no matter what you do. I learned the hard way and had to throw out 3 of them. So the cheap ebay s-curve/s-line tpu cases, diztronic, and mercury cases will not work with these protectors unless you get very lucky with your placement. Though I have all these cases and none of them worked with the realook 3d forming screen protector

Thanks Jottle. I was thinking it is probably the same material as the curved crystal. I have found 3 cases that the full coverage works with: UAG, Eclipse Element and SGP Modello. I love the look of the full coverage with these cases but with the dents, I have to replace the protector about once every 2 months.

Just wanted to add that I've now tried the Tippin full coverage screen protectors as well. They are incompatible with my case as well. There are some tpu cases that will work with full coverage protectors. But the extremely tight ones that barely cover the corners will not.

Film Screen Protector for HTC 10

What are good film screen protectors for our device? With full coverage and proper cutouts. Clear and not soft.
Looks like there won't be any decent tempered glass option, so I'm starting this thread.
This is what I use, and I am happy with it.
I did figure out that it was polarized the other day when using my 10 for navigation in my car. I could not see it in portrait with my sunglasses on. I had to either turn my head or rotate to landscape to be able to see the phone display.
EDIT: The screen is polarized *Not* the screen protector

Spigen crystal is pretty good. I tried a couple of TGSP's and they sucked really bad so I turned to the PET film from Spigen. It's really thin, clear, and precisely cut. It could be a tiny bit wider, but it does cover the viewable area. It feels pretty decent for a film (not a lot of friction) and you can barely tell it's there. $7.99 for a 3-pack on Amazon.
I second the Spigen Crystal Film screen protector. I've been using it and it's done a decent job so far. Not as nice as a TGSP would be in regards to feel but decent smudge/fingerprint resistance.
Post some pictures of your phone with the Spigen film?
Patiently waiting for Maximus to come to the HTC 10

I've Spigen Crystal PET screen protectors were my go-to before tempered glass became the norm, so I'll probably be pretty happy with them (although I will miss the feel of glass)

Fitment is perfect at the top of the phone. Could be wider but otherwise it's awesome.

This is the first picture I've seen regarding the fit of this screen pro. Cheers!
I'm using the Spigen crystal too; unless the light is just right, it's hard to see it at all.
The surface is less 'slippy' to the finger than the glass, but having used a similar protector (not Spigen) on my old phone, I find it familiar.
Definitely a much better fit than any of the tempered glass protectors.
However, I've noticed that it's much thinner/flimsier than the older Spigen Crystal PET protectors.
I split a 3-pack with two buddies of mine with the HTC 10, but unfortunately I think mine warped slightly during install:

Sent an e-mail through asking for a warranty replacement - we'll see if they are willing to replace it.
Other than that warp bubble, I'm pretty happy with it overall. Not as slick as glass, but does the job.

I found your post! I love your reviews, keep em coming !
I have the spigen based on comments here and I don't like it. The adhesion is poor and I already had to replace my initial protector after a week, not to mention its a little tacky and not smooth, and looks wavy and uneven under light. As far as dimensions are concerned its good, I just wish it lasted longer than a week.
Another vote for the spigen. Applied properly, mine has no bubbles and is not wavy. Also, the comments about it being too small are incorrect. It is sized perfectly for the flat part of the screen. At the edges on all sides the glass on the 10 is beveled. If the screen protector went to the edges there would be bubbles or the protector would peel off.
I just placed an order for the zagg film.
Ill report back when i receive it
Just received in the mail the spigen crystal screen protector, and incipio NGP case. Both fit perfectly! The screen pro fit as close to the edge as possible, and no issues with edge lifting while putting the case on the phone! After installing the screen pro there are very small little waves which I've seen on other screen protectors, which disappear within a day or two..
Prior to this film protector I tried the nillkin glass and was a horrible fit. (I did receive a refund for it however..)
I am now content with case and screen protector!
Cheers,
I installed Spigen crystal film, it could be 2mm each side wider but I dont mind. Its not bad.

I don't know if you figured this out yet, but it is your screen that is polarized, not the film protector you applied.
For some reason, the Tianma display panels are polarized. Probably for enhanced viewing in sunlight, is my guess.

Honor 9 Cases, Screen Protectors and other Accessories

Since there is only a thread for the Nillkin cases and tempered glass I thought it would be nice to have some thread for the accessories in general.
Until this day I tried 3 cases, two screen protectors (films) and two tempered glass protectors.
Case No. 1 ) Slim, silicone case http://www.ebay.com/itm/Transparent-Clear-Silicone-Slim-Gel-Case-For-Huawei-Honor-9/112446352466?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 - Very slim and light case made from nice silicone BUT the protection when dropped would be none. It's not made 100% precisely and since it's silicone it doesn't look any good on the back where it creates bubbles. I've ordered this as the first case to have at least some protection. Nice thing is they include free screen protector but the quality isn't very good - doesn't cover the whole display (I'm not talking about edge-to-edge) and there are 2mm gaps on each side and when the display is on it looks terrible. 2/5
Case No. 2) Nillkin Super Frosted http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-HUAWEI-Honor-9-NILLKIN-Super-Frosted-Shield-Hard-Plastic-Back-Covers-Cases-/152596952252?var=&hash=item23877cb4bc:m:mtNLCAV-KRHaAK2TUOYLPTg - very nice case, really sturdy BUT I have few complaints - it's kinda slippery on the sides but this will go away after some use maybe and the bottom side around jack, charging port and speaker is a bit sharp and if you're holding the phone with the little finger on the bottom it't not really comfortable. Besides that it's really nice case for the price but I expected a bit more. But once again for the price it's more than OK. 4/5
Case No. 3) TPU Shockproof case with "carbon" http://www.ebay.com/itm/Luxury-Carbon-Fiber-Slim-Shockproof-Soft-TPU-Back-Case-For-Huawei-Honor-9-Magic/112325496837?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=412748326145&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 - as you can imagine, there is absolutely no carbon at all, just some kind of "sticker" or what it is. Nevermind, this case is the best of the three. Really nice case made from TPU, sturdy, should have the best drop protection and fits just perfectly. There is a small "rim" around the screen that should protect the screen from scratches when the phone is "face down". 5/5
Screen protector (film) No. 1) Nillkin Super Clear Protective Film - in terms of size the best screen protector I've had. Obviously it's not edge-to-edge but it does cover the whole display with gaps on the edges BUT the display is fully protected so thumbs up for me. In terms of "anti-fingerprint" it's nowhere close to the display or the back but is much better than some noname protector I've got with TPU case. Overall very nice screen protector for free but I'm still waiting for the Nillkin H+ tempered glass and some noname edge-to-edge tempered glass. 4/5
Tempered glass No. 1) Edge-to-edge blue 2.5D tempered glass http://www.ebay.com/itm/9H-2-5D-Full-Cover-Real-Tempered-Glass-Screen-Protective-Film-For-Huawei-honor-9/152593109357?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=452016649496&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 - really nice tempered glass (2 pcs) for the price. It has the adhesive only on the top, bottom and the sides but the application was very easy and the glass holds on even with any of tested cases. It has some "dots" in the screen area so I got no rainbow effect whatsoever. The blue color is a bit different from the original color od the phone but it's not a problem since you have your phone in a case. Overall for the price pretty good. 4/5
Tempered glass No. 2) Normal tempered glass Caliber (bought in CZE) - not edge-to-edge, doesn't cover the whole screen, gaps on the sides. Overall sh*t. 1/5
Still waiting for the Nillkin H+ tempered glass.
Nilkin Amazing H+ Pro is No Go
Got the 0.2mm H+ Pro. It's cover the display area for like 99%, with-out just about 0.5mm on each side, after all still the best.
BUT. The silicon layer doesn't hold the tempered glass on both sides, looks like the phone display curve started a bit earlier than its needed for the protector.
It doesn't stick to the display, making it looks like ****, with 3mm frame from each side. Top/bottom sides stick OK, all the way to edges.
So Nilkin Amazing H+ Pro is No Go for me.
Well, got it yesterday so I'm still waiting to try it but not sure if wan't to

sooooo, I bought these from tvc mall. They were so cheap that I bought three different ones with the intent of disposing of whichever were poor. Thing is, they are all good in their own way. The plain bumper is just very slimline. The rugged looking one is cool as it has a stand in landscape mode, and the wallet is exceptional quality, given the price. All three fit perfectly, but the plain bumper makes the power and volume buttons so much more tactile. The rugged one looks really cheap in silver, perhaps black would have been a good choice. As i wasn't expecting much from the wallet one, I also oredered the nilkin wallet but that hasn't arrived yet.

I have also ordered the ultimate sheild screen protector, which is edge to edge, in black as I think it will make an excellent contrast to the silver rear of the handset....which wont be visible when the (absolutely necessary) bumper is fitted!
Ultimate sheild screen protector
.... And the ultimate sheild protector turned up. It is excellent. A word of caution, unless this is fitted absolutely perfectly, it will render one or both of the capacitance keys inoperable. This happened to me as i fitted the sheild a fraction of a millimetre to the right. I carefully removed and replaced it with more accuracy.
Here is a pic of the black sheild fitted to my silver H9, and a photo of the plain bumper fitted from my previous post. Svelt but rugged!
After a couple of hours of use I can say that there has been no loss of sensitivity on the screen or capacitive buttons, but on darker details and the blacks, it does look like the screen is behind a sheet of glass. You will know what i mean if you have used a screen protector which bonds over its entirety, whereas this one has a mild adhesive at the top and bottom of the protector, where the bezels are. A small price to pay i think to protect my new device. It is mostly noticeable in bright light, not so much in low light. And I love the new black look of the bezels with the silver fingerprint sensor still visible.
Right, so, some more hours on....the ultimate sheild has begun to show its flaws. Towards the middle of the screen there is now what i can only describe as a "woodgrain" effect. This could be caused by tiny amounts of moisture getting between the screen and protector, which I guess there is nothing to stop that happening. They offered a refund for dissatisfaction so I guess I will be chasing that up. Pfffft. So disappointed.....
Is there a smart cover for it ?!
Just bought the TPU Shockproof case and it is amazing! It's a very good quality and it doesn't makes the phone feel like a toy.
I really like it and definitely recommend it!

Can you upload a photo of the phone with the case applied?! That would be awesome
The nilkin "sparkle series" wallet turned up. Its awful. Unlike the cheap wallet I purchased, which remains closed under magnetism, the nilkin just falls open and feels poorer quality.
The Ipaky bumper with the clear perspex back is, however, very nice. The only caveat, it sits flush with the screen so offers no protection if you decide to place your device screen down.
I'm waiting for the smart cover case, if it didn't come fast, I'll go with a skin.
I have bought an honor 9 few days ago. Somebody could suggest me a screen protector that cover whole display? With 3D display is so difficult find a good screen protector....

Thanks.
I don't like this type of tempered glass (i know that is the only solution for cover 3d display without space).
So, someone has tested "invisible film screen protector"?

If someone else has tried this protective film, please give us a feedback.
Did someone try the Mofi screen protector? According to a review on Aliexpress it has minimal space at both sides.
I've seen ones from ultimate shield, I'm considering getting one.

Good luck with that. Did you read my earlier post? As the protector does not actually sit on the screen, due to the adhesive around the edges, it is susceptible to the "rainbow effect" which i think is caused by humidity between screen and protector. It seemed to manifest itself after the phone had been in my pocket and warmed up. I don't have an overly sweaty crotch.....
Anyhow, they apologised and promptly sent a replacement and the same happened again.
By all means give it a go and they will refund you without issue.

My thoughts on the Poetic Revolution Case and Poetic Glass Screen Protector(Pics)

Hey Everyone, just thought I'd put my two cents out there since we are all searching for the perfect screen protector and cases. I ordered the Poetic Revolution in white from amazon and their Tempered glass hoping they'd work good together.

Okay so the case is a pretty rugged case with a nice lip around the screen. The tempered glass fits in the case well. I popped out the plastic built in screen protector on the case since I'm a tempered glass guy. The case is well made and matches my white pixel 3 xl well Very similar to the Supcase Unicorn Beetle pro's I've had and I-blason armorbox but not as bulky as those. Volume and power buttons are super clicky without much force and thats nice. The sides are a nice texture. Its pretty grippy.
The tempered glass is a edge adhesive type with the black border and it works pretty well. Good cut outs and fits the screen well. Will have to see how strong the glue is in long term use. I wish they included a bigger wet wipe, since the one included is tiny and not super damp. Other than that it works pretty well. It's dot matrix and sensitivity is pretty good. Only a tiny bit of rainbowing but some is expected with the edge adhesive type. Honestly ill take that over bubbles and this has none. Overall I'm very happy with it considering I've seen some really terrible glass protectors on here and XDA lol.

I have this case too, the built in screen protector is OK, a LITTLE loose when the weather is cold so you can feel your finger "catch" sometimes. Also worth mentioning that the edge sense is still ok to use. I was worried with how sturdy the build is that it might not activate but this is not the case. I have ordered the stand but my understanding is that wireless charging should also not be an issue. The poetic tempered glass has a 2 star rating on amazon right now so I was worried to try that.
