Help installing team blackout apps - Google Pixel XL Themes, Apps, and Mods

So I just upgraded to 7.1.1 and am running twrp rc1 and rooted with sr5.
Has anyone had success installing blackout apps? I've tried flashing calender, duo, and YouTube, but none of them work. I made sure updates were uninstalled or the app was deleted before flashing through twrp and it still doesn't work.

I am doing that very same thing and like Micmars told me,,,,most of these apps you have to extract from the zip and place in their respective folders, set permissions and reboot,,,,only ones I am having a problem with is calendar and inbox,,,everything else works.

I tried installing these and they would just make apps fc. Then I applied Substratum theme and bricked. Had to restore to factory image..

Far as I know swift black is the only one that works

I'm running Swift Black Substratum on 7.1.1. The theme engine is easy to use and works off stock apps. No need to install theme ready gapps.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brit.swiftblack.layers&hl=en

Thanks for the info. It's funny because I tried using Substratum a few weeks ago and it wasn't ready for the Pixel so I got stuck in a bootloop and had reflash my phone at 2am. So glad it works now. Thanks again!

if you got twrp installed and get bootloop go to twrp mount vender then go to advanced and file explorer and delete sub from there and your phone will boot just fine

Make sure you pick 7.1.1 Pixel in Substratum when applying the theme and the theme has to support 7.1.1.

Going to try it, thanks. I knew it was just a matter of time.
I have to get updated to 7.1.1 first but that's no big deal.

Yeah I was able to get it installed....works well. Had some random FC of system UI.....but other than that.....running pretty smooth. Black and Dark are both 7.1.1 compatible

Installing Xposed with Root Access and TWRP?

I appreciate the fact that many will think this thread is a complete waste of time, but i'm struggling to find out how to actually do this with the G4. I have an unlocked bootloader and TWRP 2.8.7.0 installed, but from what i've read the latest Xposed Framework installer (v79) is still causing bootloops on this phone. Are there any safe methods to install Xposed without using the drawn out solution posted here?

from what you read?! what about trying yourself?
tons of people here have the latest xposed working just fine.... too busy ****ting your pants for a bootloop (that with twrp on you can solve in 2mins)???

Just make sure you have the uninstaller to hand if you need it and also take a back up. I have used xposed on stock 5.1 and stock 6 also cm12.1 and cm13 so there shouldn't be any issues here

I don't think you are an idiot... You have actually taken the time to read the thread and check compatibility which is very smart.
I know v79 skd23 works on cm13 and genesis v3.5 so any marshmallow based roms should be fine. If you have issues then use the uninstaller and if that fails then restore the backup you have taken. No harm done. If you do have issues I'm sure a fresh install of your rom of choice and then install xposed (and nothing else at the same time, plus wipe dalvik and cache) should sort you out.

Thank you for being so kind. I went into TWRP and flashed the file, but unfortunately i ended up with the bootloop. So then i went to boot into recovery by holding the power buttons, but all it gives me is the LG recovery and not TWRP. So now my phone is essentially bricked and i've only had it a week.

We're okay, i sorted it. Never been so scared in my life, thought the phone was done for because i had no ADB or Fastboot to save me. It turns out that by choosing the factory reset option in the LG recovery, it simply boots straight to TWRP because the default recovery is missing. Then i was able to flash the Xposed uninstaller and it booted fine afterwards.

Sorry..... That's your issue. I actually told you wrong yesterday. I meant to say stock based marshmallow rather than stock. It will work with genesis v3.5 which is stock based and an easy flash of you are already on marshmallow. It's due to xposed needing the system to be deodexed.
Regards,
Ravi

Root android N

Hello everyone,
after flashed Android N, I've tested twrp 3.0.0 and supersu 2.68. If you change the vendor, putting one of MMB29V version, it will be the decrypting data, but when it flash a supersu, the installation is successful, but when you restart the phone, the system is not rootato. How I can fix this issue? Thanks a lot

Twrp is gone please tell how to install it again
Same issue here...I dont think it is possible, easily anyway. If you notice after it boots back into TWRP your internal storage is displayed as empty. All storage is. It says the installation is succeessful, but I think after it pushed the root files to ypur phone and rebooted to flash them, it could not as the files were no longer there......I don't know though.....Good luck!!

Regarding Root I have used phh's modified boot image from somewhere in XDA the link of which I forgot and fastboot flashed. With that I have installed phh superuser from Google play store and root works. However, some apps doesn't approve the SuperSU and busybox doesn't get installed. Meantime, there are multiple boot images for rooting N. If interested you can try the images one by one and post your results here

xposed runtime for Marshmallow update?

Is there an xposed runtime .zip or whatever for the marshmallow update to Sprint s6 to be able to use xposed modules?
I still have:
xposed-v80.0-sdk22-arm64-custom-build-by-wanam-20160211.zip
Which worked on LP, but I don't want to flash it and mess up the phone if it's not supposed to be for this version.

There's a marshmallow version of xposed in the original thread, however, we don't have twrp yet. There's no way to flash a zip without that, at least that I know of. I'm sure we won't be waiting too long for twrp though.

I've gotten a full day of heavy use with a custom ROM, I didn't make it to 5pm today. I had greenify and amplify working on the custom rom though, so hopefully now that we have recovery, I can test out xposed and get some of those things back. This was my first Samsung phone, I'm not sure I'd go to the S7 after this experience. I came from a phone that easily got 1.5 days on a charge.

I can't get this working correctly.
I installed flashfire and flash the zip and let it keep the option to mount system read/write, and i see it unpacking files, and then the screen goes blank and eventually i have to force it to reboot.
After reboot, xposed apk says it's not installed.
Is there some other way to flash the zip?

You used flashfire? That won't do it for me. After extracting, goes to a black screen and I have to force a reboot, then xposed afterwards says it's not installed.
Worked just fine for me. For multiple different files. V4a, xposed, and a couple other things.
Screenshots added for exact settings I used.
Flashfire takes a few minutes to load once it does all that unpacking. My suggestion would be to be patient before forcing a reboot.

[Help] Android 8.1 OTA Sideload - Settings Keep Crashing

Hi,
I just sideloaded 8.1 (coming from 8.0). Things went smoothly and in the recovery mode, my phone is now listed as 8.1.
My problem is that whenever I try to go on settings now, it always crashes. I did attempt to redownload the OTA and sideload it again, but that still didn't help. I'm not sure what I did wrong...
Solved: Never mind I was an idiot. Forgot that I had substranum theme on, and it didn't play well with 8.1

These are the magisk modules your looking for in the magisk manager app. Disregard the Dolby app. I'm assuming your rooted correct?
yes rooted corrected does it matter if the rom i have already had viper installed or should i unistall it and reinstall viper from manager.

I'd uninstall it, then get the new stuff. Does the old one show up in magisk manager?
The mixer path file is located in system/vendor/etc/mixer_paths_tavil_taimen.xml
Edit, not sure if that's the exact file you were asking for. Hopefully it helps you get what your looking to do if you can't get viper to do it.
So it seems that i can not delete viper from my apps could i just download it the magisk manager and reinstall it since i can uninstall my viper and the viper i have is the same that you are using oh i also uninstalled the drivers from viper.

These are the magisk modules your looking for in the magisk manager app. Disregard the Dolby app. I'm assuming your rooted correct?

Hey, Badger! Where'd you get that Dolby MM? Did it shown up for ya after you flashed the Dolby-Oreo.zip or is it different? I ask cause I used that zip and it installed to system for me so of I could go systemless, it'd be awesome.

It's just the dolby-oreo.zip that's been around a while. Just flashed it in twrp and it works fine. However, it's not systemless.

If it shows up in the magisk manager modules section, just uninstall it from there. Reboot, then install it again.

By chance...have you tried moving the apk from system-priv app to data apps with a root browser? Maybe that'll work?

The thought crossed my mind, but never tried since it's not hurting anything. I always update with a full system image without wipe anyway. I was just curious mostly.
Did you leave yours in system or did you move it to data?

I've just left it alone. But now, I'm thinking I might try it just for S & G's! ??

Is it the same version I showed you in the screen shot?? What happens when you go to the download section in magisk manager, does it show an upgrade for that module??
