Intro:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days -- it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and gained contributors in the process. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew further with experience and learned a lot more along the way.
It has been an awesome learning experience and it's still not over! We are still learning, striving to grow each day, and continuing to move forward. Lastly, weDO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We do not believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going comes out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All that we do ask is that you have patience, search for answers prior to posting, read, and try to enjoy the process with us!!

yes its work in AOSp based roms it works but not in cm based roms,,
theme engine is there you can acces it in settings,,:good:

I use N-ify. It can only do the Settings drawer on the left, but not the tabs inside like in the screenshot of OP.

Thank you. We appropriate your work. but I think there is many problems with your roms and changing just themes and looking is not what i need. I can't mount system in this rom while i can in previously roms. I can't move modem and catcher file into firmware folder. If you work on this way and try to give us fully working rom, that not need same way to make work on my mobile. It will be easy to us to use your rom. we have imei problems and long way to recover our IMei. it is too boring.
+1 bug. incoming calls sometimes comes via notification, while i am using it. and there should be usually incoming call.

What prob you are facing in themes??
Aosp ROMs are not pre rooted I have to root them..to move modem files use root explorer and after replacing change permissions to rw-r-r..if you always have to replace modem files why Dont you replace modem files before flashing..I use files for my region based modem if you are from other region you have to replace modem files.
BTW incoming call come as notification if you are using you phone if you answer it then it will go to calling ui.that is a mm feature and can't be fix..not in this rom its like in every mm ROM.. Good luck:good:

Installed this rom last night following the instructions and had no problems with the installation.
I've noticed a couple of things so far:
1 None of my applications that require root access can even though my mobile is rooted.
2 Somewhere in the process I lost the contacts widget from the fixed area at the bottom of the screen between the dialer widget and the apps widget. This may be something peculiar to my install. I can open contacts from the contacts widget but it won't "stick" to the area where it is missing from.
Looking very promising so far. Thanks for your efforts with this.

1. You need to enable root access for both adb and apps under Settings -> Developer Options for root to work
2. I haven't noticed such an error.Maybe you should wipe and install again....

1 Enabling root for adb and apps put this right.
2 Couldn't find an app called "contacts" only a widget but Google now call this app "People". Created shortcut for People and okay again. I must have deleted it by mistake along the way.

Sorry spanorg I am using your rom and haven't posted any comments. I am using your rom for everyday use and I can't fault it. I don't use Bluetooth or GPS admittedly but everything works perfectly for me and battery life is even better than it was on the stock rom and is fairly amazing for a smartphone these days.

I think there may still be a problem with the Bluetooth but as far as I know the GPS works. I will try to give the GPS a go tomorrow and report back.

cm10.1 PAC edition 05.2013 IS CM10.1... This Rom is CM10.2.
I'm also very interested in this rom, but bluetooth is absolutely essential to me, as is gps, so I can't use it on a daily basis. I'll try to install to test in the next days.

Go to settings, developer options and change to apps and adb.

So
Everything is working fine.
Only if I choose the first option in developer options settings crashes. If I want to open proper changer it crashes too.
And
I choosed german but the settings are still in English.

I use it now and report for the battery life in 2 days

OK, thanks for the feedback. I have a feeling that the Launch Tools are currently disabled. We are still adding small additions as we find them. Please know if it doesn't work, I will need to know, so I can put a TODO for I and the others to work on them. Thanks!

We all want to help with translations. Put strings.xml will be translated in Russian
Only Settings are in english.
Sorry, I mean Settings>ROM Settings>PropModder but it´s okay now. I think it was because of the root.
But Launch Tools in developer Options still gives a Crash in Settings.

I´ve tested it with a notification from anWhatsapp messge while Hearing muisic through headphones from with Apollo Player and I dont got such an issue.

Google Experience Launcher and transparent notification bar are included with PA gapps.

So I flashed the rom, and all of the additional zips (modem, and pa gapps) and everything seems to be working perfectly, except for the SD card, which it currently is not reading for some reason. Outside of that everything else seems to be working and I'll add any additional comments if something isn't working.
Just to clarify the SD card bug is external right? Just wanna make sure I can restore thanx again oblikas I never doubted u u got skills man lol

I can confirm that the external SD is inaccessible from the ROM. Rear facing camera is maxing out at 8 MP. Focal crashes after taking a photo with the front camera, stock camera app works fine. Overall very smooth, though.

Screenshots won't tell you very much. Kit Kat looks very much like Jelly Bean. White status bar icons on a transparent status bar is about as different as it looks. There are plenty of screenshots of the new Google Experience Launcher for you to check out.
As far as stability goes, it's a little early to say. I've only been running it a few hours. There are a few little issues that @oblikas is aware of (external SD, Camera capped at 8MP) but otherwise it's very functional. It's extremely smooth and boots really quickly.
EDIT:
WiFi Hotspot is working-very well I might add. Using it to download the OTA for my N7.
This does not intsall on E988. It gives error during installation in recovery.

Because I made it for e980.
You take the risk for a brick or something like that.
Open updater script with notepad++ and remove assert lines.
ROM is fast and stable.. So far running for 5 hours I have only 2 FC playstore and gallery apps.. Way to go Oblikas..

Been running this for 10+ hours with only problem being exterior sd card. Better battery stats won't work for me either but everything else is running fine. No lte but 3g works flawlessly. This is a great first build and everyone should be impressed. Thanks oblikas, glad u are here with us.

Going to try this tonight. Just wondering, did anyone successfully run this on a non AT&T model? Mine's the Israeli E989, But i'll do a nandroid and try anyway.
Tried a few times, but was unable to install this on my E980. Using TWRP for our devices, I get the error messages "Error executing updater binary in zip..." & "Error flashing zip..." Was previously using madmack's CM 10.2, had no problems flashing back to it. Any idea what might have caused this?

Hey, thanks for that cool rom only one thing: i can´t set change permissions in /system. Neither with the built-in explorer or that one from rom-toolbox. Is this normal?
Take a look in FAQ how to enable root.

I'm downloading 20140520-0946 build.
In the gapps download page i've found a "Slim_google_camera_compatibility_fix " file, what is it?
Tested. Rom is nice and smooth. I didnt discovered any issue except stock camera. Good work thanks.
I'm testing, system is fast, it's good, really good, DROPBOX works well with auto-upload (not like in CM11-Maclaw), A BETTER CAMERA works well and takes good pics, Wifi and 3G works well, GAccount and Whatsapp ok, GPS works.
Only a thing: Is there a way to have icons and text not so small?
OK! I flashed texdroider_DPI and set 233 AMD reboot andò it's all right!
Need to look why lcd.density got overwritten, should be 240 instead 182. Will run a testbuild later

And how's the battery doing with this one?
Really thinking about trying it out, looks more than OK.
After two hours with no problems, i had a few stability with 3g signal... It went on and off, more off then on.
I had no problems before, but i was doing settings and personalizations.
After a reboot it returned all ok...
No way to have battery stats, you have to wait !

About the camera bug, if anyone want to use default camera app just flash my temporary fix for it from attachement. Everything works exept power shutter, don't use that settings, causes fc (need to clear data of camera app for working camera again).
Some other minor bugs, what i found
- settings/security/slider targets and shortcuts FC,
- settings/accessibility/show on the left edge SystemUI crash.
Btw, the rom is smooth, i just flashed it and thanks for this amazing work @Android-Andi :good:

I think the slim roms stock density is 182 ?
Built root, Xposed. Changing the rules of access to the memory card on the resolution.
Bug: lag of YouTube videos. Hangs a picture of what to do ?
When I include Google account synchronization is also disabled and then hangs up the settings deleted data and program settings in Google disabled action tracking and all ok. Try.
If there are bug LTE to install a different kernel.

What you personally launcher install?
Transform it into a flashable zip, dont just upload your own nandroid backup and call it a rom... what are we, savages ? :silly:
There is the bug of notification panel and lag of YouTube videos? And also the missed call...

I use nova launcher, I wanted to remove the pre installed version of you because of the language (I can not find the option to change it), but in the end I decided to keep this also because I have seen that it is the premium version

I could not unpack, there is no tool to unpack sistem.img

There is a guide here. You can also find the similar tools on xda (sda2img and ext2explorer), but this guy made the python script to run directly as a .exe. It worked just fine for me.

BUGs so far.
1.
Whenever i tap my carriers icon in the drop down notification panel the DATA CONNECTION is always On.And if you toggle it back off anf check again its On again.
2.
Cannot toggle 2g only. It always switches back to LTE.
I dont really use DATA conn because service here is just horrible. So having it to 3g/LTE will just contribute to more battery drain.
But over all rom is working fine and no random reboots and no youtube lag so far.
