Software Channel doesnt change after flashing stock rom (retbr) - Moto Z Play Questions & Answers

Why software channel doesnt change after flash stock rom???, still show my carrier name (tefpe) ??? Please help.
Bootloader is unlocked

I don't know if we are having exactly the same problem.
I flashed my phone with LATAM rom because I tought it was the correct from brazilian phones. After that my signal stoped working, no calls or mobile data.
After that I flashed the RETBR rom but still doesn't solved my problem.
My IMEI is 0 on the config>about but with "fastboot getvar imei" I can see the correct number.
If you find any solution please share! Thanks!

If you have restored the backup properly, just try to factory reset the firmware...
Which method you had used to backup and restore EFS?

I did not have EFS backup so I used SRS unlock client with UART cable to bring back the original IMEI, now my IMEI and S/N is correct but phone still wont register on network. Any ideas?

I am having the same issue after having flashed the 4.3 version found on Sammobile. SN and IMEI are correct. Have you found a solution?
Please help me too , same situation
previously worked with dlk6 or dll6 firmware/modem on 4.1.2
When I flashed 4.3 Xperia-z1-ized ROM . Device showed correct imei and MK1 modem from the ROM but says "not registered in network "
Have no Idea what went wrong. I have no backup of any EFS or anything .
I installed emergency firmware upgrade via Kies and now running stock 4.3 Android UBUEMJ4 Modem , build number : MK4 Status : offical.
I don't even know if i can root my device with current stock firmware.

KDDI Marshmallow update WARNING.

I was running the Taiwan ROM on my phone but went back to the Japan version when the Marshmallow update was released. Now the phone is screwed
It started off with the phone asking for a 'Network subsystem code' so the phone was essentially network locked and could only be accessed if the SIM was removed. I re-flashed the Taiwan ROM thinking it would go back to how it was but it still asked for the unlock code.
Maybe this was where I went wrong, but I bought an unlock code from eBay, entered it but after it rebooted it still asked for the code.
I tried a few TWRP backups but nothing worked and now it doesn't recognise a SIM at all. Nothing.
It's randomly restarting and I've also noticed that the IMEI number isn't showing up in the settings.
I have no idea what to do so if you have any ideas, please let me know...
Possible Fix
Try to flash misc.img. Its supposed to fix simlock for the taiwan version, and its the same image for both. You can find it at the bottom of my conversion guide.
Don't worry, you should flash your phone return to rom stock KDDI 5.0.2
then flash file fix sim pass: 8jtv
by adb change.
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash misc misc.img
fastboot reboot
or unlock sim by xtc2clip
I have got no signal after I change my sim in KDDI 6.0 rom. I am sure that my sim card (UK sim) is not damaged, but my phone is not able to register to the network. I am now thinking of flashing back to JP 5.0.2 again
How about Taiwan?

If you dont need nfc, the taiwan ROM is better in every other way.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/butterfly-3/development/stock-rom-stock-5-0-2-cure-t3356875
or if you NEED to have nfc, you may need to manually scan for network(s) in settings and after that replace the apns-conf.xml file with one from cyanogenmod or any other universal rom, because data only works on its known network (au). You will also need to change from SMS to Messages apk and maybe change the call center number. (stock htc text messaging app)

Lost IMEI and Baseband version - NO REGISTRY ON NETWORK - PLEASE HELP - SM-A550F

Hello everyone!
I was flashing a custom rom and I realised that my sim card is not detected...
I tought that it was a problem with bootloader and modem so I flashed them and still, the sim wasn't recognised.
Then I went to the settings to check IMEI and baseband and it was unknown...
After many and many tries I still can't feagure out how to fix this...
I flashed it to a stock rom and the baseband is still unknown...
I changed the imei with xposed extension succesfully but the sim still doesn't work because of baseband.
Please help me... *I was stupid for not making a backup*

You made sure you flashed the right modem and bootloader for your model/carrier as different ones have different bandwidths.
Sent from my SM-A520W using XDA Labs
i had the same issue , you need to flash the same firmware that came with your device but all of it ap cp csc also for bootloader use one more recent because it isnt allowed to downgrade , (for example my phone had the xeo csc and flash cos to make 4g lte working in another country and carrier but lost imei and sim , to fix it i had to flash the second XEO firmware found on sammobile witch was the one the phone had when i bought it

Baseband unknown, imei unknown, sim not detected

Dear helpers,
I flashed my galaxy s9 with TWRP and tried to flash a rom with it.
The rom wasn't working and I had already performer a full wipe.
When installing another rom i found out that i lost my imei, baseband and my sim isn't detected anymore.
I already tried to flash stock from sammobile, but that doesnt work either.
Does anyone know the solution for my problem?
Kind regards
