Phone wont boot to recovery and installing stock fails - Sony Xperia M

Device: Sony Xperia M dual (C2005/nicki)
Problem:
Tried to install CM 14.1 (official), flashing the boot.img worked, i got into cm recovery and tried to factory reset. It failed and i tried it one after another, it got stuck at wiping Cache (or i was impatient, sorry) and rebooted. Since then i cannot enter recovery because it says no command and reboots the recovery in a loop.
OK, then try to Flash it back to stock.
I tried to Flash the stock in flashmode but i got an error (this is from the log file)
Code:
flashsystem.X10FlashException: Error in processHeader : 1 : Unzulässige Funktion.

Can anyone help?
Its not my device and i have to give it back really soon

me too

Ok lol got it to flash stock. Just redownloaded the ftf file and updated flash tool.
After first fail it works.
Will report if I'm having success installing CM.

Ok I got to install CM but none of the SIM slots are working. This is a no.
Back to stock with 4.3 ftf and it worked.
Just use the newest builds and redownload if it fails more than 3 times.

[Q] CWM works, but boot loop on multiple ROMs, can't revert to stock

Please help me unbrick my phone! (panicking slightly)
A few days ago I received a new XP1C, and I immediately (without ever booting it into stock) unlocked it, flashed boot.img from the newest CWM nightly, and proceeded to install cyanogen's newest nightly.
BOOT LOOP.
I've tried:
1) other ROMs (both from Cyanogenmod, and other developers). All result in boot loops.
2) using flashtool to try to return it to stock. It connects to the phone, but fails during the process.
3) connecting with ADB - device is not showing up.
when I do a wipe data/factory reset I get some errors:
Error Mounting /data!
Skipping format
...
E: unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]
...
Error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure!
Skipping format...
I would be most grateful if anyone had any ideas of things for me to try. I have been all over the forums and am totally out of ideas... :crying:
Did you backup TA partition?
Cause from what i understand you need to restore those keys before reverting to stock rom.

I did not back up or change anything when I got the new phone. I just took it out of the box, plugged it in to the usb on my laptop, and did the Sony unlock process.
Flash a stock firmware in flashtool (e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2768044 )
Flash stock rom using flashtool and boot into os first, then proceed to fastboot and custom rom.. You have not reboot after unlocking BL, and flashed kernel using fastboot.. Thats why u r getting this error..

[Q] Unable to mount /data

Hi,
I've just tried and failed to install the "cm-12-20150218-NIGHTLY-nicki" ROM on my phone. Specs are:
Official Android 4.3 Firmware
Model: C1904
Timeline:
Unlocked bootloader according to instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2484428
Phone then got stuck in official boot animation (the colourful one)
Didn't bother flashing the "Elixer" kernel as suggested in above thread
Used fastboot to flash the boot.img from the CM zip file
Booted to recovery
Wiped data & cache
Flashed CM & GApps from external SD card
Restarted phone
Phone showed big Android robot animation and then went back to CyanogenMod Recovery
Looking at logs showed "Cannot load volume /misc" error
Found a forum post saying this thread helped with the above error: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m/development/cwm-twrp-recoveries-cm12-lollipop-t2979752
Tried flashing TWRP recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...very-cwm-twrp-recoveries-custom-roms-t3016507) within CyanogenMod Recovery, but it said the file integrity was bad or something
Used "fastboot flash boot FOTAKernel.img" to flash the above, which worked
Tried to wipe data from within TWRP, but got "failed to mount /data" errors
So the phone is now in a state where:
I can only boot into TWRP
I can't use ADB since the program on the computer won't detect the phone
Fastboot still works
I can't boot into Android
Something seems wrong with "/data"
Any ideas about where to go from here?
I was able to use Flashtool to flash the official firmware back on and boot into it as normal. After doing that and restarting the procedure to install CM12 2015-02-19, this time it installed just fine.
Although I still got errors about "Cannot load volume /misc". Hopefully they don't matter...
Now you have CM12 installed and it is working?
Had the same errors when I tried to flash CM12. Flashing CM11 worked fine but I could not get CM12 to boot...

Yeah; it's installed and working fine. When I flashed the official firmware, (Android 4.3) I told Flashtool to flash everything including the kernel. That seemed to put the phone back into a good state, which allowed me to install CM12.
I'm not sure what caused the problem in my case. Maybe it was unlocking the boot loader.

Help flashing back to stock, tried everything.

Hi, i'm having trouble flashing back to stock.
I've got the latest stock firmware from sammobile.
Using twrp to install it says missing META-INF as the firmware zip isn't made the same as custom firmware.
Adding the tar.md5 to ap in odin flashes the boot and recovery but goes extremely slow when it starts flashing system (left it 2 hours and it hadn't even got half way) I'm guessing that's not normal.
I took a backup with twrp before I started flashing in twrp which flashes fine but I get endless boot loop when trying to start it.
I've tried fastboot but it doesn't detect the tablet.
I've tried different usb ports, cables, different versions of odin and different stock firmware. I'm ready to throw it out the window.
One thing to note is the [P600][Touchwiz] Marshmallow Rom 20170622 works great but also boot loops when I turn it off and on again, I have to boot into twrp then choose reboot in there and then it boots ok, that doesn't work with my twrp backup though.
Anything I'm doing wrong?
Thanks.
Well for some reason after installing marshmallow rom again then installing my backup it boots fine, havn't a clue why it failed to boot the other 4 times.
Nope
Back to continuous boot loop after second reboot.
All I did was turned developer options off and it's boot looping again.
Flashed original stock boot.tar.md5 and recovery.tar.md5 then factory reset and wiped cache but still boot loops.
Is it because I flashed a Marshmallow custom rom so it so you can't downgrade to a lolipop rom even though it's stock? Boot loader changed? Kernel?

I'm not quite sure what your problem is but you should be able to downgrade, I've done it before.
Try this guide first. I've had success with it.
If all goes well you can then try to flash your stock ROM. The one I've flashed successfully in the past is the one in this post.
Good luck!
You may need to repartition your system. Tick the repartition in Odin. **All data will be lost**

Thanks, I followed the guide in that post and it flashed ok then I finally managed to flash the latest stock!

Stuck at TWRP Recovery Not Rebooting or Restoring (Error 255 and Error 7)

I tried to flash a rom to my Note 2 n7100. I had backed up with TWRP before flashing the ROM. Flashing failed with a error 7. I've tried eddting the updater script method deleting assert line for every ROM, nothing changed but the error code. Error 7 became Error 255. I gave a try to flash the roms via adb sideload, the result was the same. Then, I've decided to restore back, but it fails with Error 255. I'm stuck between two error codes. I can restore my backups only without "data", but then phone freezes at samsung logo or keeps booting itself. I have also used different versions of TWRP, supposing the problem my result from it, but no. I need help. I just want to unbrick the phone. Thanks before hand for your helps!
Flash the latest stock Samsung ROM to the phone using Odin and perform a factory reset before booting the phone with a stock ROM.

Tablet wont reboot in recovery mode after flashing TWRP

Hi to everyone.
Recently, I wanted to mod my tablet (SM-T805 chagalllite) and install the TWRP, and then a custom ROM. I followed a guide, dowloaded the twrp.img.tar file, dowloaded ODIN (3.13) and continued. I started my tablet in Fastboot/Odin mode, selected the file under the AP checkbox, connected it to the computer and then flashed the recovery. It said PASS and immediatly after it rebooted I pressed the key combo Power+Home+VolUp but it started normally. When I returned to the fastboot mode, it said KNOX WARRANTY VOID 1, so it did something. But simply the recovery wont start up, although I retried another 3 times. I tried with the AutoRoot package, it did the red android thing, the SuperSu app was there but the Root Binary wasn't. Any help?
P.S:
The twrp and odin are both at last version.
Nevermind, I solved my problem. I installed CF Autoroot which reinstalled stock recovery, and flashed TWRP using its official app.:good:
I need help was using twrp 321 some thing for quite a while and had no issues flashing ROMs back up ect. But I tried to do a restore and it failed due to , unable to mount system.
Ok no problem i thought I'll reboot and try again. Only now twrp loads the splash screen then reboots it self. IV tried updating to latest version with Odin still doesn't help. Samsung t805 here please help

Ok I fixed it the back up from twrp curreupted the recovery partition. Even reinstall twrp doesn't work or trying to get the stock recovery. To fix it you need to download the entire stock ROM and install the ap via oden in odin mode. My system didn't even boot stock but this fixed the recovery partition and could flash twrp and install a custom ROM
