Huawei Nova Plus / G9 Plus - Huawei Nova/Nova Plus Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi...Just installed Aida 64 and found that my phone is named G9 Plus.....But bought it under the name of Nova Plus
I guess its the same phone but named differently in different contry... Am i right ?
ive compared both of them on http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_g9_plus-8285.php and theres no differences...
The G9 plus have Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)...
Nova PLus is Single SIM (Nano-SIM) or Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)
internal memory G9 32 GB, 3/4 GB RAM or 64 GB, 4 GB RAM
Nova:32 GB, 3 GB RAM
So finally, there are some differences but....
And Aida says that total internal space is 24 Gig Instead of being the 32 gig mentioned...where are de 8 gig missing ???

The rest is reserved for the system.

Ahh...well that should be mentioned somewhere on their site.../ devices specs...

This is a old thing already.
I think none of the OEM mentions it. And the 8 gig missing isn't only for system, in most of times. It is reserved for all the other partitions except data.
About g9/nova thing, it seems that g9 is prototype name or even an alias. Searching on huawei customers site, I found nothing about this phone.

G9 Plus is the release name in China. Nova Plus is the release name in other countries. Two phones are identical.

Nope actually in China Nova is Nova as the rest of the world even on the lunch event it's Huawei Nova not G9 it may be sold under the Chinese translation of Nova

ive read on some page that maimang is successor of g9... this one is hard to follow hahaha

16 vs. 32 GB and ROMs

Is anyone having trouble deciding on 16 vs 32GB configurations? Mainly because of the difference in RAM, with 16/2GB and 32/3GB.
Is there a difference in ROM building based on these versions? Or will all ROMs work the same on both versions? Do any other phones have the same thing, having different amounts of RAM? Not sure if I need the extra GB, but I'll have to see what ROMs support first...
This is all hardware. How in any way would it affect software? It just lets people who need more space for music (like me) to have more internal storage and 1 gb more of RAM which is also really good for people who want speed. For those who just use their phone once in a while, they can buy the 16 GB 2 GB RAM one. It all depends on preference.
32gb
I would recommend 32 gb as all the media files will be bigger due to the resolution. With LG's software there will only be 10~11gb of space left for the user

I agree with you about the 32GB model but not for media files. They can go on external SD card right? 128GB on top of 16 will still do for media files.

Oh right, the g3 will have an sd slot. I'd still go for the 32gb for apps (making the files install on the ext sd is a hassle and the apps won't run when you take the sd out)
Wanting to push this thread because i have the same question... I want to see some roms on the g3. But there is still no answer if there is a difference between 2gb and 3gb in building roms.
No problem here...32gb all the way.
Why would anyone choose 16/2 when you have the option of more storage and ram...makes zero sense.
Always buy the better option!

3gb version all the way!
What is the model number for the 3gb version and where can one buy it.....?
I'm okay with 16 GB of RAM. It wasn't an issue on my Nexus 4 and it isn't an issue on my Nexus 5 and 7. Besides, with an SD card slot, storage isn't an issue.
However, given the option between 2 GB of RAM and 3 GB, I'd go with 3. Always go with more RAM when you have the option.
Problem is that I am in the UK, so only 16gb coming as far as we know. That means I need to compromise on my storage. It will be a hassle to often move my camera pic and videos to SD card, and Whatsapp doesnt allow it.
I dont know which other data intensive apps will also have issues if i try to move to SD card....bit of a minefield.
Any tips would help ?
Shall I just forget about the 16gb version and get a different phone (I do like the look of this one however) ?
Hi all just want to know how much space left available can be used if i take LG G3 16GB ? Thanks

I would guess 10 to 11 gb of space for the apps and data that cannot be moved to the SD card. For me, this will consist of a few apps (metro newspaper eats loads of space !) , and lots of camera pics and videos (high resolution) and loads of whatsapp pics and videos (whatsapp stuff cannot be moved to sd either)
......that is why i am avoiding getting the 16gb version - LG are such s**theads for not selling the 32gb in the UK...makes me so angry !
I sent an email to LG UK support and as expected, they could only tell me that at present the 32gb is not announced for the UK, nor do they know if it will be or when, blah blah blah !!
I already preordered the 32GB version because
- apps getting bigger like GTA
- Offline Navigation like Navigon need alot of space
- Taking pictures and Videos
at least LG sells the 32GB here. HTC won't sell the 32gb M8 and S5 also not available as 32 GB
perfect would be a G3 with 64 GB internal memory

Thanks wyase9 for your info , i really agree with your reason about avoiding geeting the 16gb, but guess i have the same problem like you in my country (indonesia) only get the 16gb version and still don;t know when the 32 Gb will come. My friend in office also said the same like your reason they suggest i wait for the 32gb version ( Hopefully July 2014 will come )

Do they send to US?
i guess so. Amazon.com will ship to Germany, so i guess Amazon.de will ship to USA. The only question would be, if the european model has the needed frequencies for the US and all the carriers
what about ROMs?
Is it that same custom ROM can work on both variants? Only difference i see is an extra gig of RAM. But needed a confirmation if anyone knows

Which Version to Buy.

I am confused in 2 version of mobile.
1st 4gb ram 32gb and other 64gb.
32 gb just cost 19k INR and 64gb cost 24k INR.
32gb version is avilable in flipkart but 64gb i cant find(.
I have compared both in website like smartprix and found that 64gb version is tooo better than 32gb though less difference in price.
Comparsion
Example: Less rom ,no flash and few things in 32gb version.
So which is good ,you know where i can buy 64gb version in india.
Advance Many Thankx.

I would get the 32Gb version to save money and be more efficient. With 32g2g of internal storage you get plenty of room and you could always expand the memory to 128 Gb with micro sd card. Try going to flipkart.com, they will be selling it there for you!

Which version will you go, 3G or 4G RAM? Any REAL difference?

Notice that there are 3 models available now for Honor 6x, 3G+32G, 4G+32G and 4G+64G, which one will you go?
By the way, detail phone specs here, but in Chinese:

I am using a 3gb and don't notice any difference to my mate 9 with 4gb

3gb is large enough to for everyday use nothing would max it out
4GB RAM with 64GB ROM is Perfect
4GB + 64 GB is no doubt better in multitasking and more storage but I did not see huge difference in 3GB and 4GB model apart from RAM. 3 GB is not bad at all either and multitasking is smooth in 3 GB model.
Just ordered a 3Gb, storage is expandable so 32Gb will not be a problem.
If it would have been having Separate SIM slot like 5X, then 32GB will be my pick.
Since that is not the case over here, I will go for 64 GB variant.
I don't need the second SIM, is in my Nexus....

Seems that 64gb variant is exclusive for China.
Is 4GB RAM more better than 3GB Ram?

Not much...there are hardly any difference in RAM part..if you are concerned about stotage then thats your personal choice but 3GB for android is more than enough for high end gaming, multitasking or anything. I am on 3GB model and always have more than 1 GB free even if playing alphalt 8 or other games

Think so as it seems it was not launched in US also during CES..correct if anyone have got the 4GB model in US or other regions.

6GB or 8GB RAM?

Does anyone know the difference with performance on something with 6GB vs 8GB? Negligible you think?
I remember a side by side of the S8+ with 4GB vs 6GB.
I guess really for double the storage & an extra 2GB of RAM for $60 more, it's almost a no brainer.
However, i'm just trying to get an idea from those of you who know more about RAM in phones than I do to chime in.
I'm also guessing it's normal to bump the RAM every time you bump the storage. At least I am starting to see that in some newer phones, (don't see a 128GB 5T with 6GB) but not all. You don't see the Pixels like that (and still with 4GB).
Seems to be RAM is all over the place & I always thought cost was the factor, but if OP can do 6GB & 8GB it doesn't appear to be that.
well, in my opinion, 6GB of RAM is more than enough for the average user. but if you're really really looking for performance, pick the 8GB version, obviously.
why they even have a model with 6gb/64gb.
I've seen a few comparisons of both version of the OnePlus 5. The device with 8GB of RAM was able to keep many more apps in memory (obviously). This led to much fewer app redraws.
I chose the 8GB option, because I want this phone to last me 2 years, and I am thinking about what may be needed for Android P and Android Q updates/ROMs in the future
The 8GB is for "power" users who cycle through a lot of apps
128 GB is for people who have a lot of apps and record a lot of video/need to store a lot of data
This is what the head of OnePlus marketing said in an interview. I don't think the 8GB is meant for future-proofing the phone
As explained in the interview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4_zhRWHwk4

I did see that interview. I know the intention is for power users, but it is my personal view that 8GBs will serve me better in the future, than 6GB.
I intend to use the phone for 2 years at least, and so if official updates stop after a year and a bit, I have the option to install a custom rom.
i'll go for the 64GB one, i currenlty have the OPO sandstone 64gb, and never handled to fill it. Also i dont really feel like 8gb ram are usefull atm...
8GB for me.
It's really 64gb vs 128 gb. 6 gb of ram is plenty. 8gb is for bragging rights only.

When the two were tested (side-by-side OnePlus 5), the 8GB model, naturally was able to keep many more apps in memory. Don't know if I would consider that bragging rights, but I would consider it better.
8GB is a gimmick, but hey, if you want it, the option is there lol.

Of course it's better. But is it that much better? I don't think so. I think the storage difference is more of a difference than the ram.

I ordered the 8GB 128. Figured the storage was worth the $60 & the 2GB extra RAM was a bonus. Don't know if there will be any noticeable differences, but I don't care that much.

I rather brag about the pricing of the 5T =P
I went with the 8GB/128GB model because the 4GB/64GB of the S8+ Dual Sim was a deal breaker for me. I currently have 2 Samsung S6's with 64GB storage. I needed all that space to hold all the data imported from the 2 phones and have the dual sim functionality. If the S8+ DS had a 128GB variant, I would've considered purchasing that instead.
If like myself you have several play lists, root, rom, keep nandroids and titanium backups, and video its 128GB.

Whats the difference betwen the 4/32GB and the 3/32GB Model?

Yes, they're compatible. The different numbers just denote a different RAM amount, 3GBs or 4GB.
Aight Thanks!
altho man, whats the differenece in price for 3gb or 4gb?
i would suggest to save a little bit and go for 4gb. it will help with multitasking, and future proofing.as 4gb is really a mid range standard now for phones.
