htc one m9 wont make out going calls due to FIXED DIALING NUMBER - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI THERE
I have a htc one m9 that suddenly stopped making out going calls . when I try to call it keeps saying that fdn which mean fixed dialing number is enabled and I should untenable it but when I go to the settings and to the fixed dialing number to disable it . it wont change . I try to root it with apps with pc and without pc each time it failed . I try to update it it wont open download mode . I try to flash it also failed with adb .an it is s-on now it is fine I can still receive calls but I can not make calls can any one here help me please

I believe you need pin2 to change that feature. The default htc pin2 is 0000. If you've changed it and forgotten then you're **** outta luck.

this means that your device is sim unlocked .. no need to use the code
you only use it if you insert a sim from another company and THEN it will ask you for the code

this when the code comes in handy , you should enter the code then.
where did you get this code from ?
i am not sure about this .but. if you tried unlocking it with any other software like lokiwiz then "maybe" you should hard reset your device before trying again .

when you turn off your phone and insert another sim from another comapnyand on again - make sure your phone is not in flight mode- you should get something like
"SIM Lock
You have tried X times , please wait until timout
to make an emergancy call, type emergency nimber then tap emergancy "
and a ext box right under it ,and the ok button is dimmed
then after a while the ok is active again , you shloud then enter the code you got from tupidsin and it should work.

I never said tap on the emergency . you are going to get yourself into trouble man .. really calling 911 to unlock your device ..
the steps are
1- turn off device .
2- put "another" sim from "another" compay"
3- turn on the device
4- enter you unlock code in the "TEXT box" -i missed the t before the ext sorry-
5-press ok
if the code is not right you will get an "invalid code " message
where did you get your code from ?
Thank you for your big help
sorry to bother you. probably I'm getting yourself into trouble...
I got a code from tupisdin, then,
I enter the code into text box for emergency number,
but OK was not appeared, just emergecy button is dimmed.
Just in case, write under what I did.
1- turn off device .
2- put "another" sim from "another" compay"
3- turn on the device (of course, I'm sure that it is not fright mode)
4- wait for a while, then it was displaied TEXT box under "SIM Lock, You can still make emergency calls if your service..."
5- enter unlock unlock code in the "TEXT box"
6- keep to dim "Emergency" button...
I probably mistook right?

[q] problems with texts after upgrade

hi,i Just upgraded to latest version of Sense, as prompted. I now find that I can't send texts to certain people - either from compose or when replying... i get a quick 'please wait' message and what I've typed stays on screen. If I exit the screen, the msg is stored as draft. If I re-open, I still can't send it. If I compose a msg to one of the people I can't send messages to but also send it to myself, then it gets sent! this is frustrating and means i cant use the text facility easily. I have rebooted the phone, checked the numbers and APN settings, all are ok (all worked fine before the upgrade). please help.. .? thanks, mark
have you tried to wipe the dalvik, as i had a similar issue with mine after i wiped the dalvik everything seemed fine and smoother
CHEERS, but can't access recovery mode (although can get into scroll menu where I can see it to select it) - my phone's not rooted - maybe that's why. .. not keen on rooting it as it's a company phone . .. Any other ways of clearing it?
cheers, Mark
hi, exactly same problem. I contact htc suport. they told me
please try to put the phone on the safe mode by following the below steps:
1- Turn off the device (Remove the battery)
2- Turn on the device without pressing any thing
3- When you see HTC logo press and hold Vol. Down until the device Vibrates.
that resolve the problem
easy and quick, no need for rooting
then i restart again normally and everithing is perfect

Rogers (CANADA) Messaging Center Number

Let me guess...
You've discovered some hidden menus recently by typing codes in the dialer and find out this one: *#*#4636#*#* that open a "Testing" screen showing options like this:
Phone Information
Battery Information
Usage Statistics
Wi-Fi Information
Then you went to Phone Information
Tried some options (maybe played with SMSC:_________Update / Refresh ) but that was not doing anything so you exited the menu.....
after a while you wanted to send a text or someone was asking you "Did you got my text?" and you didn't....
Here's what hapened: Accidentaly you erased from your phone the "Messaging Center Number" wich is responsible for giving your phone the access to the SMS/MMS central of your provider.....resulting in loosing the ability to send/receive messages.
Don't worry, after having navigated XDA Forums I finally found my way to make it work again (yes that's because I did it that I now now it).
By the way, even if you Factory reset, flash a new rom/radio/kernel that mistake is gonna stay. You need to enter the number again.
in the *#*#4636#*#* hidden menu,
scroll down to "SMSC:"
in the box type: 0791715097960300
press the "Update" / "Mettre à Jour" (first button)
Now exit and Reboot the phone.
To test it, don't try to resend an old test message as it contain old message center number. I even suggest to delete previous text messages from your inbox if possible.
If it worked, everything should be fine by now. (you can even kudo me for this loll)
NOTE:
The real Roger Center number is +17057969300
the thing is that it need to be Encrypted in Hexadecimal PDU format.
(user MarcusVanSciver on XDA shown that link in thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412261)
That was for Orange Network (european have 8 number to phone number instead of 7 so I had to add a 0 at the end to make it work for Rogers)
after Encryption the number was now: 0791715097960300
This worked for ROGERS, the trick could maybe work for other networks but I can not validate the info. (but for sure this will not be the same number)
This had been tested with stock rom and Custom Rom With Custom Radio and Custom Kernel.
If this helped you, please give credit to this post ;-)

Easier way to do it without mucking around looking for your SMSC. It's how I got mine up and going again!

Hey man, this might be a bit old for you but i just got a galaxy nexus. I am having the outgoing text issue. I've tried that number and everytime i hit update it just says update error. Think you mightbe able to help me?
Damn this doesn't work for me
To program the SMSC (Text Messaging) number on Android devices, please follow these steps:
Go to the phone application.
From the phone application, press *#*#4636#*#*. (You will have to press the Call or Send button after entering this code in for some Android devices).
Tap on Phone Information
Scroll to the bottom to where it says SMSC and enter this number exactly as you see on this page (including all symbols): +17057969300
Press Update.

VoLTE option missing intermittently , unable to make or receive calls.

VoLTE option is missing intermittently, sometimes its working but sometimes VoLTE option is not there. Every time i have to restart device to correct the issue, can someone please suggest any solution?
I tried enabling/Disabling VoLTE option from settings etc..
Which network and device u r using?
I think VOLTE network strength weak in ur area..
Try these steps
Open phone dialer nd type this code
*#*#4636#*#*(copy paste not work)
It'll show sim1,sim2 info nd wifi info
Select sim in which u r facing volte issue
Now scroll nd click set preferred network type
Thr scroll nd choose LTE only
Thts it.. done
NOTE-IF U RESTART OR ON AIRPLANE MODE, SETTINGS WILL RESET U HV TO DO WHOLE PROCESS AGAIN

Question Caller ID Issue

After I've rooted my phone, I've disabled Show Caller ID(so that others can't see my phone number), and now I cannot enable it; It shows an error "Unexpected response from network" I tap Ok and another error pops out "Network or SIM card error".
I've tried to reset the dialer app and it changed nothing(about the error).
But one thing that I wasn't able to do is to locate directly where this setting is stored(in the directory), and it has something to do with my phone number, since whenever I use a different SIM it enables Caller ID; While still being unable to access the setting itself -- uses default.
Or are there other ways to fix this?
Thanks in advance!
You'll need to talk to your cellular service provider to reset this if you see that error.
