- Initial realese.
Didn't expect to see this ROM for this device, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops!
However, with the current build, latest ARM 6.0 Pico Open GApps, TWRP 3.0.2-0, and following the installation instructions stated in the OP; I am unable to get to the setup wizard as an 'Unfortunately, the Setup Wizard has stopped' message appears on a black screen - this will either remain on the screen (as it cannot always be clicked on to remove it), or the device will reboot and get past the RR boot animation before the message appears again.
I am able to use the on-screen power settings ('Turn off', 'Reboot', etc.) via the power button to restart the device, so the display is still usable, it just won't let me get into the actual setup.
I understand that this is a test build and the issue I am having could be normal, but I just wanted to point it out for other users who may have this issue.

This is the same issue that I and other users have reported, so it is most likely not your fault. Be aware that this ROM is currently in a testing state, so issues like this are to be expected.

Installation Instructions
First you will need to download the modified recovery from Here (Don't flash it!!)
Make a Backup as usual to your phone stuff like apps, Whatsapp conversations ecc....
Backup your internal sd content, because all its content will be lost so make sure to backup everything like photos, videos ecc....(you can copy the full content on a pc or inside a new folder of your external sd)
Now Reboot inside CWM or TWRP recovery which not includes new partition assignments
Make a Nandroid backup of your entirely ROM and backup it on the external sd
Install the new one that includes new partition assignments
Make a Reboot Recovery (To reboot inside the new one)
Make a wipe data/factory reset
Go to "mounts and storage" menu and select format /system,then select "format /data and /data/media"
Now you can Download the ROM from the Downloads section under this post
Once you downloaded plug the device on the computer , then mount USB Storage.
If you finished copying your files than you're free to install the ROM now
Update Instructions
Download the latest build of Resurrection Remix ROM
Flash ROM usingrecovery
Flash Gapps
Wipe cache,dalvik cache
Reboot
Enjoy!

already exists lollipop for galaxy S2 here and here with some bugs but is normal
why in this rom is not installed super su ? I tried looking at setting not find superuser ?

Downloaded this ROM yesterday morning; great job! One issue I've noticed is that today I keep getting booted off my work's wifi. I'm not sure how long it's staying on, but when I login, then go to work for a few hrs then come back to the phone, I need to log in again. Other than that, thanks for the Marshmallow experience on this old workhorse!

Did you try using hotspot,bluetooth? I use Gtuner and on some of the roms this app doesn't work that well. I am downloading it now hopefully works better than toxin.

Just a suggestion. Don't install shift kernel. If you do it won't reboot.

Ya I agree but theres only one problem I found so far and its the OTA updates. It seems like its unable to find the latest version
Its so perfect that there is no need to update.
I need your help, my friends! My i317 always reboot in bootloop, just it boot and immidiatly reboot agane(( I'm borring( full wipe, wipe internal again, factory reset! But i still rebooting....
After you do a full wipe you should flash your files (rom, gapps, xposed, etc) by using a custom recovery (I recommend using Philz) in order to successfully boot.

I wiped everything and I installed the ROM but I didn't install any kernel. When I installed shift kernel, it started reeboting.In another marshmallow ROM, Gapps micro didn't work for me.It gave me a boot loop.So I am sticking with gapps nano.
i didn't flash any kernel

What have you flashed exactly? You did not needed new recovery for this rom. If you had TWRP before, it was perfect for it.

well, you actually got luck as it seems..
im not even able to boot up since installing the rom bricked my phone!
cant boot in recovery now...

Dirty flash over previous build didn't work. First boot seemed normal and went through 'rr is updating' until the end, then froze on 'starting apps'. Powered off and rebooted and boot logo for 5 minutes, then 'unfortunately system ui has stopped', then blank screen. So, I wiped data and caches and rebooted, and I have clean install of new build, and everything is good, just have to reinstall and reflash everything, (no biggie).
My ROM was pretty heavily modded, so could be just bc of that.

For me flashing this ROM automatically flashed CM recovery over my TWRP.
Maybe Omar can change this?
Because CM recovery is absolute horse hockey lets be honest
But ofc you can reflash TWRP manually.
I did a clean install, even wiped internal storage. Thought this is a good moment to clean up some bulk.
Thats very anoying on Sony Roms. Every Rom contains bis own recovery... Even if i install twrp on fota. Can someone explain why there are no roms without a recovery? So i will try this rom later when i am near my PC if something went wrong. Greez
Flashed perfectly for me, full wipe and factory reset and my recovery was updated to twrp 3.0 when i flashed this ROM. Only problems are the brightness is always max when turning screen on and launching eBay app I restored from titanium backup crashed the phone. Reinstalled from play store and still cant sign in. Only minor issues tho, my first taste of RR and CM13 and MM and im very very impressed, especially all the RR customisations. Thank you @OmarEinea I will be making a donation your way when I have some spare cash.
Edit, forgot to mention camera, photo quality was bad then I tried to record video and it FC and won't open again now.

Sony released updated bootloader about a year ago that is separate partition and not affected by ROM. You can install via Emma program. Not all recovery imgs are compatible, but by now there have been several developed that work.

Guys try flashing from twrp as described in OP.
I'll check if I can change CM recovery in the ROM to twrp.
camera quality is horrible as mentioned and as in screenshots but it's being improved,
and remember this is still in testing phase, give it some time and it'll become better.

Super excited to try this out! I just switched back to my s4 until my pixel gets here so thanks so much! Might be a silly question but as long as I give it a full wipe/ reset, (and have updated recovery) there's no reason why I wouldn't be able to go strait from 4.4 to marshmallow right? Can't hurt trying I guess. Already made backup just waiting for download/ full charge. I'll report back. Thanks!

I'm in the same boat, i337m stock 5.0.1, rooted, TWRP 3.0.2-0 for jflteatt and also tried with jfltecan version, error 7. As many threads suggest, I've tried deleting the assert line in the updater-script file, with no results

Just tried and the answer is no, it doesn't boot on i337 with safestrap
sgh-i337m with stock 5.0.1 /was/ rooted with Odin3 but when I tried to do the nandroid backup with TWRP, I ended up corrupting System UI and was forced to do a factory recovery. So now that my phone is a blank slate again, how do I properly root it to get the ROM to flash?
Hi,
I flashed this rom yesterday and used the mobile hotspot. Unfortunately the mobile hotspot keeps switching wifi channels every time I turn it on and what I need to connect to it has a limited range of wifi channels it can connect to.
Is there a way to make the wifi channel static at 1 so it broadcasts at that everytime? I could not find such an option in the menu whereas the stock rom had it.

I am loving your ROM so far but I have hit a snag in restoring my data. Titanium Backup Pro is currently installed and it wants USB Debugging turned on. I have done this many times but cannot seem to locate the option in Resurrection Remix & searching online turned up nothing. What am I missing?

I just found the ADB debug option which of course is the same thing .... Doh!
I could have saved a few hundred dollars if I had found this about 2 weeks ago. My wife has been carrying my old S4 (on a GPE 5.1.1) and she had an issue with the capacitive buttons on the display being intermittant. Got her a Nexus 5X international to be her daily carry.
If I had known about this ROM, I could have given her quite an update.
I installed with opengapps nano and this ROM takes up about 7.2gb of the internal. WOW! Plobby the biggest ROM I've ever used.
Charging this with a known very good charger and cable, I am getting a "Charging slowly" on the lockscreen. I know this charger can output 1800mA, how do I get this device to charge faster? Could it be a hardware issue on mine?
How do I turn off the hardware lights on my menu and back button?

Install instructions:

READ THE FLASHING PROCEDURE FIRST
and most of all DONT USE XPOSED
This is my favorite rom of all cm based roms unfortunately, after flashing, the quick settings panel doesnt drop down. Also USERS cannot be opened.

clean flash rom
wipe data..media,,,dalvik...catche...internal storage
then install rom
install gapps "nano"
you can use it
dont use other gapps... Use only nano

already did sir. I even redownloaded the zip file and reflashed several times but still same problem. Guess i'll just have to stick to cm13 and wait for new RR release.
