No Nougat ROMs for our device? - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The Original Dev forums seem to be pretty quiet apart from the Slim 7 test for M9. Any ideas if we are getting Lineage OS nougat ?
What about any other AOSP Nougat ROMs?

i think no.....

Android 7.1

We've all heard fair and well that android 7 will be coming to the m9; any mentions of android 7.1?
No and I doubt HTC is going to release any further updates than 7.0. Maybe we'll see a CM/AOSP based rom with 7.1 sometime next year (or an HTC 10 port rom with 7.1)

Quite a pickle you've got there...

Yes I did and there is no resurrection remix for this phone or viper rom. Plus if there is a ROM out most likely the developer will not relic it.
Most of the Roms for those phones are all final stage Nougat ROMs. There is no Res Remix Oreo yet for any phone. "RR v5.8.5 is the final Nougat build. This is the last update for Android 7.1.2 Nougat and after this you will only receive 8.X Oreo builds. Custom ROM maintainers like Lineage and Paranoid, have already declared final Nougat updates."

I for one would daily drive RR Nougat if someone ported it to OP5T. All the Oreo ROMs have the Bluetooth bug (connections unreliable), and a charging bug when trying to use Android Auto. Until we have official Oreo, those bugs won't be worked out. I hate all stock ROMs.

You are right on that one but for some odd region RR developers from the op5 have quit on there projects so they will probably not being it to the op5t. Said but true. Wish I new how to make a ROM and would make one that's new and exciting with everything RR has to offer plus new things. I also would like to find out a way to mod the op5t to support the 600mhz band that T-Mobile has for there LTE now. My op5t does not work in some places because its not activated on the chip for 600mhz but it does support it.
RR Oreo is coming soon and will most definitely be available for the 5T.
Guys also keep in mind a lot less people updated to the 5t from the others. Most were not falling for that again.
Plus 8.x is a big change so lots of work going into it. Then the whole rebase needed from 8.0 to 8.1.
Check out the Google+ community, Varun just posted a screen of RR Oreo on the 5T. ?

It seems to me there are many custom firmware options and compatible Magisk modules available for the 5T.

Looking for RR v5.8.5 [N] ROM for Moto G5 (cedric)

Does anybody have this ROM stored somewhere? It's not available to download through official thread link anymore https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/development/rom-resurrection-remix-nougat-v5-8-3-t3612427 and thread is closed also - that's why I'm asking here.

He was asking for 5.8.5 (nougat), probably for stability reasons.

Exactly. RR 6.0 didn't even started to boot. Also I'm trying to avoid Oreo CustomROMs as much as possible - in my opininon they're still glitchy and a little bit slower than Nougat ones. Until now, the best one (built on Android Oreo) was the AOSPExtended 5.4 ROM, but I wasn't as satisfied as I was with RR 5.8.5 and some other Nougat ROMs.

Will Lineage OS 14.1 be the last official LOS it will ever get?

The latest version is 15.1. I thought N7 would get 15.1 eventually, but now I get the feeling that 14.1 would be the last official LOS for it. Am I right?
If so, I would like to move to another custom OS.
What's 14.1 based on?

Interesting. Do you know if it works well on the Nexus 7 2013. Mines become slow now, maybe flash this to give it new life. Do you also know if Netflix works ok?

Its difficult to meet the charter of lineage which they began after 15.1 (oreo) for such old device.
But then, never say never. Two separate teams are working on it, lets hope we get official this time.
I can confirm without a shadow of a doubt that LOS 15.1 with Oreo 8.1 is, in fact, running and working fine on my Nexus 7 2013 (flo), can't comment though on the LTE version as there may be other demons to trample on that one. I am amazed at how fast and beautiful the OS actually is.
