[KERNEL w/Energy Aware Scheduling][13th January] Helix Kernel v012 r1 [MAGISK] - HTC 10 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Developm

Deleted

Changelog:
Code:
v012 r1:
-Added /cache support for F2FS
...v012 - Initial Public Release

MAGISK USERS USE INFORMATION AND DOWNLOADS BELOW
If you use magisk, you need to flash the following two files to keep your system untouched and systemless
v012 r1 SYSTEMLESS KERNEL
- The kernel only, system less so your system does not get tampered with.
v012 r1 ROM SUPPORT MODULE
- The rom support module flashes the rom files as a magisk mod, so your rom uses them as a magisk module.
Without the rom support magisk mod, the kernel will not work optimal.
Flash both in twrp or the kernel in twrp and then the module in magisk manager, it's up to you, easiest is to flash both in twrp one after another.
The rom support file module should then show up in magisk manager, which means it works as should.

Wow helix is back! Welcome zero!??
Thanks for your support!

Quote from OP: "THIS IS UNTESTED FOR AOSP ROMS, PLEASE BACKUP AND FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK."

Thanks for the credit! Excellent work

Backup boot and also system if something fails and try it. No one in our team uses cm so we never tried it

So if any Rom isn't f2fs compatible (respectively it isn't mentioned to be), it will be with this kernel? Which partitions can be formatted to f2fs? And which version of the kernel should I flash then? The main Magisk one or the Rom support one?
Ah and could you please include maple scheduler? Or doesn't it work with EAS?

You need to reformat data to f2fs, cache should be fixed as well for f2fs. For system it makes no sense but @Captain_Throwback can tell you more.
The magisk one is only for magisk, but it when data and cache are formatted to f2fs it should still work.

If you use magisk, you need to flash both files with magisk in the title.
One is the kernel, system less so your system does not get tampered with.
The rom support one flashes the rom files as a magisk mod, so your rom uses them as a magisk module.
Without the rom support magisk mod, the kernel will not work optimal.

F2FS not working for /cache currently but making a build right now to resolve that!
EDIT: v012 r1 released for non-magisk users, waiting for p50kombi to update it for Magisk users now

no need for flashify. It is a kernel only so it wont mess with your current ROM install. Just download and flash in recovery. It is in any kernel format so you wont see a boot img in the zip. It extracts the current boot img from your current rom, unpacks it(splits it into the kernel and ramdisk) and then repacks it with my kernel and the roms ramdisk. As with anything else, make a backup before flashing.

I do not have our latest 4.3 based one posted seperately though, since I include stock in the firmware and made the 4.3 kernel in the stock rom insecure.
But you can simply grab the full 4.3 firmware zip I have posted there, or I can upload just the Boot.img if needed.
Thanks for the quick fix...

Any dev around knows if compiling exfat Samsung modules with your kernel ends up in a Crash?
That way I no longer need the stock kernels, even that they seem good for now
Just used to to make a backup and flash a new rom and had no problems at all. I gotta say this is the best recovery I have ever used, reminds me a lot of ext4 recovery on my thunderbolt, but much prettier and useful. Thanks!

Lollipop Kernel Full_Auto AOSP/CM

Full_Auto.....
A Lollipop/Marshmallow Kernel for the surviving Galaxy Nexus'
Hello Again , Here's a kernel I put together for myself to run Android 5.0/6.0 , and for anyone else who wishes to try
I started with the last stock Google jellybean source code , added the OmapZoom updates from @Ziyan and @MWisBest , then started adding back some things from my other kernels .
The Usual
Linux 3.0.101
DDK 1.9
Overclock/Underclock CPU and GPU
Adjustable Voltages
SmartReflex
Zram
Fsync
Multiple Governors , IoSchedulers , TCP congestion controllers
Color Control
Temperature And Throttle Control
and so on
Many thanks to All of the Omap4 guys , all the Nexus users , and all of the developers who's commits I've used .
DOWNLOADS
**Check the DevDB downloads page for R1**
**NOTE the FML-boot version is a full boot image , for the "others" kernel it is in Anykernel format . Please be aware of this **
As Most are aware of my last thread , I'm ok with Ot or Whatever , just mind the XDA rules and be cool with everyone
Enjoy , There's always more to come

It is not in a BOOT image or .img format. Never was. It has always just been a regular zip file you flash in recovery. Maybe codelazarous misread the "boot" part of the title. No need for any of what you wrote at the moment.

I beleieve noverity is (was) used for decrypted devices, I used it in the past, now not anymore, I think the newest twrps made it obsolete. As for the encrypted devices I really cannot say anything because mine is decrypted and is the only device I have flashed on. I don't know whether and how it works on ecrypted ones.

I don't know why the maintainers remove those parts from google's sources, maybe they intend to include them later. Anyway, yours is a good idea, I might give it a try adding them back.
You've made a right decision!
However, after installing gapps, I can't use FaceLock, which can be normally used in the previous version of the rom.

I have tried both on f2fs and ext4. It doesn't work on either. Somehow on stock S251 ROM, it won't work. Works on S244 and other custom roms. What may be the issue? is it stock Kernel?

i flash stock with magma kernel always, i don't think that's the issue.
Have you tried on deodexed version of s251.
i haven't tried that one too.
Yes. It works there.

It works fine on deodexed version of S251 just fine..! By the way, how is magma kernel compared to stock one? Any significant improvements?

safety net will not pass with xposed, that's the problem.
not big much of a deal with animation.
but don't know why i now like lineage better than stock.
I also have stock 7.0 and I tried 88 and 88.1 and didn't work. I think it's something about the stock kernel. I've heard. maybe flashing to a different kernel might work. Exposed works on custom ROMs. I have Chinese stock ROM. Does anyone know how to actually flash the kernel? via twrp or fastboot? I downloaded the zip file and don't see a boot.img file.

bootimg(no extension) is in the tools folder. Just flash it via twrp. But I do not know if it will solve your problem.

someone told me to use TWRP the zip folder and I did. I still couldn't install exposed. Oh well. What to do with the magma kernel? just let it be? i see and read many cool things people do with magma but no one actually shares how or what to do to make the most of this custom kernel. I guess i'll just let it be.
