On most phones only fat32 formatted sd card works. If u have a rooted phone and a partitioned sd card then u can use softwares like apps2sd to install apps on sd card in that situation if u partitioned your sd card in to formats i.e. one partition is fat32 ( main partition or partiton 1) and decond partiton can br any format only that app can recognise the second partition but your apps will be installed in it and work properly and your phone eill recognise only the fat33 partitiin. Im talking about phones generally and not only k10 cuz. Most of the phones only support fat32

Thanks
my sdcard is 32g
Yes, can create two formats, but it's some app only knows
If recognize sdcard more format support would be much better.
example
I want download file more than 4gig but can't because that's fat32

So this is the easier way to partition there is another way using pc but yiu should try this first.
First download this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.co.pricealert.apps2sd
Then go to partition tool in it. There you will see a bar slide it to hoe much you want your main partion which is fat32 to be. I have attached an image thats the thing. But this is from the playstore app image because i didnt root my lg yet and did this before in samsung and dont have access to that phone. So you csn see in the pic. Uncheck the 2nd partiton (in the pic its checked but u have to uncheck it). So now you will have 2 partitions in your sd card but makesure u make the main partion fat32 or else your phone wont recognise the sd card. Now press yes after its done you might get a message to create mount script it will be writren what to do. Now it will ask to reboot phone after reboot go to storage and now if successull you will see your sd card for eg if u set main partiton to 16 gb then you will see your sd card showing 16 gb but dont worry. Now open the app and from there you can link apps to sd card second partion you can move whole games and apps. IM NOT RESPONISBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR PHONE OR SD CARD.
if it doesnt work or any other question feel free to ask

K10 supports only FAT32 upto 32 gb without reformatting before it can use. If you put a 64 gb on k10 it will force you to reformatt it as FAT32. Exfat is 64gb and above and do not have limits on each file. While fat32 can carry 4gb per file.

how do i know which sd card do i have?

i want to use this app:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889550 but i see it dosent work on exfat and i dont know how to know if i have exfat or fat32 please help ..
I'm using directory bind (latest version) on exfat and it works fine for me. You can just put the card in your computer and go to its propertes, it will tell you which format it is on.
64GB micro sd cards usually come with exfat format out of the box. 32GB usually FAT32
i think most sdcards are fat32 by default--may be wrong--but you can research phone specs or Google sdcard specs for n2.
Not aware any card comes with exfat--if you are original owner it should be fat32
you can also use partition programs like gparted or sdformatter that should list the sdcard and say how it is formatted--
either way backup sdcard first and even phone

Problem partitioning sd card

Hi guys. I partitioned my sd card with mini tool partition wizard in 2 partition: 6gb in fat32 and 2gb in ext2. When i install sd card on the phone, it says that the card is empty or file system is not supported. I tried to format the card via cwm but it says "error mounting sd card".
I have stock 2.3.3 rom, unlocked bootloader, root and custom kernel lupus 1.1.4
What can i do??????????
Thanks!!!!
I would probably format in mini tool again all to fat32 put a couple of files on it in windows (Just to know that you have got something on the card) try again see if phone recognizes it if it does repartition again with mini tool:fingers-crossed:

Yes but to partition the card i have to delete all the files on it, so try to get in the card a couple of files in windows is not pointless aswell?

No what i mean is after you have format card to fat 32 put a couple of files you don't need on the card to see if your phone recognizes them not before you partition. Then if that works and you phone does recognize card and files you can then repartition, don't partition until your phone recognizers your card. :fingers-crossed:If that still not working you can download software to test your card to see if any faults on it.

[Q]NTFS SD Card Mount on NOTE II

Hello everyone, I know this thread is already present and I also red the info regarding with it, but it seems my problem is something I can't solve with the help of those previous instructions. I have an I idea how to solve it but I'm hesitant to do it because I don't know if it works, and I kinda scared to do it because I don't want to buy again another SD Card if ever the present one will break.
Problem: I have a torrent app in my Note II and I liked to use it always because it downloads fast, but the problem is that whenever I want to download files that is more than 4GB in size, I always receive an error that the file I want to download is to big for the file system; (file system limit exceeded), and I learned that this error occurs when my storage system is FAT/FAT32, then I read a thread in this forum that this will be solved by converting my SD Card's file system to NTFS and use Paragon NTFS Mount app so that my NTFS Card will be accepted by my phone, alas I did as what was instructed, converted my SD Card to NTFS, mount my card to storage/sdCard/extcard <---Created another path as it was said that using the default path would make it not work. But when I re-started to download files it fails to me again, the same problem encountered (file system limit exceeded). I even converted my SD card to exFat because I heard that this can handle large files, more than 4GB but also to no avail.
Solution(not tested yet): I am planning to make 2 partitions in my SD card, one partition would be fat32 and the other would be NTFS, and use also paragon app, so that when I insert my card to my phone, the phone will mount the FAT system to the fat32 partition and leave the NTFS partition alone and not be used.
Does this method of mine will work? Are there any ideas aside from what I had in mind that will also help me solve my little problem. I know that this problem of mine is not that big, and I can just refer it to other threads and the google but I want to know from the pro's and OP's here if my method is possible.
Thank you!
Kudos to all!:good:

You need to define a mount point like sdcard0 is internal sd sdcard1 is external sd fat32 partition sdcard2 as the ntfs partition which is really hard to do on a samsung based rom (even windows doesnt recognize the second partition on sd cards ) you can format the sd to ext3 or ext4 it's the best possible solution

I see, too bad, but thanks any way. Does the procedure in formatting my sd card to ext3 or ext4 is the same as when I format my card to fat32 other system, or would you use a program to do it.
Why are you using Fat32 or NTFS just format the SD card to ExFAT. No size limit and compatible with Note2 & Windows
I think the problem you are having is due to the torrent app you are using, it might be trying to use the internal phone memory as a temporary location for the file you are downloading. Try changing your torrent app
(I had this problem with the official utorrent app)

[Q] Doubs about Partition SD Card and ext2,3,4

Hi
Im going to buy a new microsd card, an adata class 10, and im currently have an kingston class 4. I've been reading in the forum about getting partitions, but im still have some doubs...
1.- If i made a ext 2,3,4 partition and move many of my apps with link2sd or a2sd or any other app/script... will i see any real difference in performance against the default metod in andriod 2.3.7 of moving apps to the sd (fat32) in .asec? Or i should stay with that?
2.- Can i make the ext partition through the phone? I mean insert the sd card and plug the usb to the computer while im on the cwm and then using some tool on the pc like magic partition
3.- Can i do more than 2 fat or ntfs partitions: one for the android data, photos, caches, etc; and the othe for music and more... just for avoid the fragmentation
Thanks

1 on my experience, linking apps with link2sd to the 2nd partition gave me better performance than leaving them in the asec of the sdcard. I guess, cause the 2nd partition is mounted at boot, and has way fewer files than the storage partition. Also, you can use those apps while the phone is plugged with massive usb storage mode (apps installed to asec get disabled in that situation).
2 DON'T. EVER. DO. THAT.
Seriously, use a card reader, or you can mess up the sd pretty bad.
3 You can, but the phone won't read them, unless you can develop a kernel to mount more than one fat storage partition.
1. I don't see difference in performance.
2. I made my ext from recovery.
Sent from my Xperia Arc S using xda app-developers app
Thanks to both of you
I dont have a sd reader, but i think i can ask someone to borrow me a laptop.
One last question:
Is there any advantage/diference in using fat32 or ntfs?

1. YES , with this work your main memory phone will be light and performance will be better and better ( i suggest test it )
2. NO, you should use card reader and i suggest using MiniTool partition wizard
3. YES , BUT your phone doest read all of them, just one of them! but you can use custom kernel to mount them but its NOT recomanded

in the phone(if you dont use files bigger than 5GB(1file>5GB)) , NO
if you have files more than 5GB you should use NTFS
if your files are less than 5GB you shoud use FAT32
in pc NTFS is more better than Fat32...
Hi again
Ive recently bought it (an adata class 10 micro sd) but, i dont obtain the minimun write speed that it claims...
I got around 5 MB/s though the phone usb and Above 25MB/s reading. I had a cache read ahead of 1024.
The thing is that i got a litlle more in writing when i use an sd reader (7-8 MB/s) but much lower reads (10-12 MB/s)
So i dont know what is happening, if its fake or if i fomatted it wrong (mini tool partition wizard) ...
Can i have any information if its real by the oem id and all the serial info sd tools gives? I can upload it if helps.
Thanks

So i tried some basic way but cant..
Help plz,
We can use Large storage!!!
If you are OK with rooting your device, you can use Link2SD and Foldermount to use your External SD card. you just need to flash Init.d support mod after rooting. then install Link2SD and/or Foldermount

Yeah I'm using FolderMount but I want every app's downloaded files be in EXT_sd.
Everytime I organize my files, it's too bothersome.
the new Link2SDplus does it all
How can you guys get it working? Mine says that there is mo partition on the sd card or insufficient storage even though I still have 10+gb on the sd card and 2+gb on the phone and doesnt move it

Link2SD needs a specific EXT formatted partition on your external SD in order to work. follow a Link2SD installation guide..
