Show us your photos taken with the Mi Mix - Xiaomi Mi MIX Themes, Apps, and Mods

Share your photos here in this thread! We all know the camera is the weak link of this phone. However it is capable of taking good images if you ignore the absence of sharpness or accept the heavy noise reduction. Behind all of that are images that generally are well exposed with good dynamic range and natural colors.
I'll start. All photos shared here directly from camera without any kind of editing to give a fair picture of the phone (no pun intended).

I do notice the noise which is a weakness of the sensor, but you have some real talent behind the lens! Some of these images are simply amazing!

Thank you very much! Yeah images get noisy but colors seems to be just fine so I can live with it. The subjects are what matter anyway not sharpness or something although it's a bonus. But it doesn't make a photo "better". It's pretty fun to shot with this camera it's very responsive.

How do u rate it using hdr+ ?

It's really awesome!
Especially if you shoot in RAW and use Lightroom or Snapseed to retouch the photos it can really be impressive.

Pics taken with the hdr+ on and flash off.
Using google camera hdr+ for a whole month and it takes great pics

so it doesnt look terrible. I just got one, coming in the mail soon...I don't want to miss out on baby pictures. How about videos, are they okay?
As asked above, what is the best camera I should be using - the stock one or something else?

I am currently using Arnova 8.1 port and it works flawlessly.
Truth be told I have used its portrait mode on a baby and the results are magnificent.
Imho, the MIUI camera is rubbish compared to what gcam gets from the sensor.

Dude it's a phone, the pictures are fantastic for a phone camera and there's a lot of shots which are very good as shown in the pictures in this thread and other threads
If you want a good camera and want to be able to not have any drawbacks, I recommend a DLSR
Or use photo shop to fix any photos maybe
nice pics!
The first two pics and the last one look pretty decent. The others are way too noisy though. Looks like the ISO was a bit high, that or the Digital Zoom has been used. Personal opinion, but Digital Zoom is always a no-go for me

[Q] How usable is the rear camera ? (Upload your sample images/videos)

Hello,
i would like to know how usable you feel is the rear camera ?
Currently i do not own a Smartphone.
Would you say it is good enough for small task like a quick Youtube video or snapshots ?
Considering the small diameter of the sensor 5 Megapixel should be rather ideal.
Analysing the product pictures it appears to me that the sensor is even a little bit bigger compared to most of the Smartphones (I am not referring to the outer ring)
I would be delighted if you could upload sample images (Indoor, outdoor and low light) and videos (720p and 1080p).
A few words about the front camera would also be nice.
Thank you very much indeed!
Best regards,
pootney
Link to origami pic cuz its biiiig
Hello,
thank you for the upload!
Nice Origami :good:
Despite the fact that the room seems well lit there is noise all over the image.
Altogether the quality seems to be not satisfying but i did not really expect more from a Tablet.
Best regards,
pootney
yeah, it's nothing special at all...a simple 5mp camera, really. can't expect too much, but the video isn't really too bad.
Not very good, noisy even outside.

1. Thanks, its one of my hobbies
Spoiler
2. They're normally not up to par like a GS III, etc, cause 'most' people don't use it as a picture taking primary device. Additionally, a better camera would have drove the cost up more
Hello,
thank you guys :good: !
I would be glad if someone could upload a video recorded indoor in a well lit room.
Actually 720p is enough.
This would simulate nearly a trial to record a short Youtube Review for me.
Sometimes the video quality is definitely better than the image quality.
No hurry!
Also would you say that the quality of the front camera have improved compared to the old Nexus 7 ?
Would you describe it as good?
Unfortunately i am limited to 8 thanks per day
Your contributions are much appreciated :good:
Best regards,
pootney
I just wanted to bring up that my S3 took pretty awful pictures while using the stock software, but I installed CM and the pictures and videos I was taking turned out nicely. I'm sure that the same will hold true for the camera on this tablet. I'm especially excited for CM's 'Project Nemesis' in relation to his tablet.
download LGCAMERA from the play store, takes better pictures at full jpeg quality and the correct white levels. Also you can use LGCAMCORDER and set it to record 1080p 20mbps data rate video with 128bit AAC encode rate! at 30fps or higher
Hello,
i was also thinking maybe the camera could be tweaked.
@skyhawk21: Could you please upload the same scene once taken with the stock app an once with the LGCAMERA app ?
I am curios how much it improves.
That would be awesome :good: !
Also now people are starting to upload video samples on Youtube.
Here is a good one:
Best regards,

I was trying to take a picture pointing to the sun, and i got this weird green spot on all photos

I didnt have this problem, just pointing at the sun, so i'm pretty sure its because of that? but i would like another person opinion.
Can some one try take kinda equal photo, pointing at the sun to see if it shows the green spot

Low light

At the club, at the bar, or just in your mom's basement, nighttime is when you come out to play. Rate this thread to express how the Honor 8's camera performs when no or low light is present. A higher rating indicates that the camera sensor "sees" lots of light in dim conditions, and that the resulting photos have minimal noise. A higher rating also indicates that when the flash fires, the resulting photo is evenly-lit without any bright spots.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Attached are some lowlight shots. I am impressed. All were taken in auto mode with (some with wide aperture) during diwali. Check the firecracker and the macro ones

I love the low light capabilities of this phone!! I've been a big HTC fan for the past six years and loved their cams but this really blows me away considering the price. I really like the Pro mode cause that's where i'm able to take advantage of what this lil thing can do. Here's some shots I took while camping and used the Pro mode for all of it. Long exposure, high ISO...
Not a big fan of the low light after switching from a Nexus 5x. Low light is decent, but nothing too amazing. Wish the Night Mode processed faster; it's impossible to hold the phone steady for 5 seconds

Yeah, the 5x's lowlight abilites were amazing. Google's software-optimization-thing (hdr+) delivers great results. If only it was possible to get it to work with other phones as well.
Lowlight capabilities of Honor 8 is really awesome, I saw many samples of it and I must say it is really superb.

Think the pixel 3/xl only has front facing wide angle lense if your referring to rear camera then I doubt it but it might be when pixel 4 releases I'm sure that may have rear wide angle seems the trend in 2019

I don't have Gcam samples to show only stock camera photos. These have however been edited by me in the Photos app some of them more than others. Gcam pictures have less megapixels but have more details in them specially in low light but colors can be weird with Gcam and the dynamic range is not good with it compared to stock. I have not found a Gcam version that gives me better photos to work with than the stock app really. Gcam needs to be optimized for the A70. Now it's inconsistent. Here are some samples what stock camera is capable of if you know how to edit photos as they can look bland straight from camera. Mixed 12mp and 32mp photos. Full size can be downloaded.
