Redmi 3s Or any Xiaomi is better than lenova , from updates or the quality . So better next time buy xiaomi rather than lenova ( from my point of view).

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Seems to work really well. Of course there are the same issues as all the other AOSP roms...
Proximity sensor
Notification light
Screen dims too fast (compared to MIUI) when using phone left-handed and slightly covering ambient light sensor.
Small typo there. Please change rom os version from 2.3 gingerbread to nougat

Downloaded and synchronized, but I have stupid question:
I did .build/envsetup.sh and in lunch menu I can't see chiron to build, what did I wrong?
Em, I think somewhat I missed adding chiron project to my env.... and don't remember how to do it
Is there a specific firmware I need to flash?

Hi,
In the device folder add a file and call it "vendorsetup.sh".
Open it and add this : "add_lunch_combo cm_chiron-userdebug".
Then do a . build/envsetup.sh again... it should now list the Chiron.
Or even more simple : just "brunch chiron" should do it with no lunch, provided you installed schedtools.
Regards.
I've noticed an increase in battery usage.... anyone else noticed it?
edit: wrong

You're trying to flash it over global rom. You need to flash chinese rom then flash it.
Thank you very much for the rom. Everything seems fine except Bluetooth does connected but no sound on any device I've tried. Any fix?

Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) is an open-source software custom recovery image for Android-based devices. It provides a touchscreen-enabled interface that allows users to install third-party firmware and back up the current system, functions often unsupported by stock recovery images. It is, therefore, often installed when rooting Android devices, although it isn't dependent on a device being rooted to be installed.
Notes for themers: In addition to the udpated theme, we have introduced a theme version variable to the TWRP theme system. If the theme version does not match the version that TWRP expects, TWRP will reject the custom theme and load its stock theme. This change will ensure that people who update TWRP without updating their theme will still have a workable recovery. We have removed libjpeg support. The stock theme was only using a jpeg image for the splash / curtain. This change means that any custom themes will no longer be able to use jpeg images. It also means that tools used to repack recovery images with a different curtain / splash will need to be updated to use the new method.
Version number notes: For a while we’ve been using a 4 digit version number and reserved the 4th digit for device-specific updates. For instance, we find and fix a device-specific issue like decryption of data on Nexus 5, we would release that as a 2.8.7.1. After a while, some people would start asking where 2.8.7.1 was for other devices. So, going forward we have decided to change the numbering scheme to 3.0.0-2, etc. Our hope is that this version numbering scheme will more clearly identify that the 4th digit does not indicate a version change for the code base.
We need your help! The bulk of TWRP work is done by 3 people on a volunteer basis. We have pushed most of our device files to our github and we have a gerrit instance. If you have the ability, please help us maintain our official devices and/or add your device to our official device list. Thanks in advance!

After Android Oreo release Google implemented new infra to the smart phones which got released with Oreo out of the box
So here before giving proper explanation about vendor of what exactly you asked? first let me explain about project treble
When we flash something new rom on our phone in that zip we used to see 3 common files
1. System.img
2. Vendor.img
3. Boot.img
system.img ( this is just a image which contains all the files which is actually related Android apps , frameworks & priv apps and basic libs of that particular rom )
vendor.img ( after project treble implementation many OEMs like nokia , Motorola or Xiaomi
They always depends on vendor because here all the files like sensors, libs , modules , camera related and hardware related files will be present in vendor.img )
So after project treble implementation developers work is very easy now because if vendor is stable you can flash any rom
Like use this vendor and flash gsi , rom , or anything which supports project treble
Coming to boot.img ( this is just an image file which contains kernel & recovery )
For a/b phones recovery partition stores in boot.img
For a only phones having dedicated recovery partition
So here finally if you want to flash any Custom rom builds of mine or any gsi etc just flash this vendor so that stability of the rom which you are using will be perfect
Thank u for the explanation.. :good:

I tried that. But so far, Nikita's version seems to work better than others. The only issue is that (for all of gcam ports which support two lenses) adding second lens (monochrome one) makes the program faulty and eventually useless.

Are you planning on working on the navbar lights?
Great. I managed to unlock bootloader and install TWRP 3.2.3-1. But, when I tried to flash I got errors for this rom and other roms. It says "Error appying update:7 (Error Code:: kInstallDeviceOpenError)
Updater process ended with ERROR:1
So, I googled and recommended fix was to edit the updater script file by deleting first part of the file. But, I can't find the file when I unzipped the rom file.
Could any help me with this error?
Cheers,

So, I googled and recommended fix was to edit the updater script file by deleting first part of the file. But, I can't find the file when I unzipped the rom file.
Could any help me with this error?
Cheers,

Hi, I had this same error.
You need to flash T-virus first using NOST and then use the twrp listed on the android 12 cherishOS XDA page and flash that(it's the boot.img file).
Then get an external microsd card and install the ROM from there. Then do the factory wipe on twrp and boot into system.

Gaps are not installed. After installing Lineage, I reboot into recovery and put it through adb Gaps-error 21!

You have to choose Yes. But that's also described in the Installation guide.
> NOTE: Add-ons aren’t signed with LineageOS’s official key, and therefore when they are sideloaded, Lineage Recovery will present a screen that says Signature verification failed, this is expected, please click Continue.
I did just that, the gaps were installed and everything works. I'm studying the possibilities of the firmware. Everything seems to work. I will try the calls later, the interlocutor says that I can hardly hear .raw photo does not the firmware give? I had to uncheck the archive when checking the gaps.
When reading a bank card, the NSF turns off and does not turn on anymore. Only restarting helps. There is a sound of reading the card and the NSF goes out.The screen flickers a little.

I really don't know what you are doing but i've tested nfc as well as the screen itself. I guess you have a hardware problem.
Everything works great on the stock firmware!
Help then sort out this problem! What needs to be done to reinstall the firmware from scratch?
I repeated it.
here is the log
PS C: \ Users \ greed \ platform-tools>. \ Adb.exe sideload lineage-18.1-20211111-nightly-aurora-signed.zip
serving: 'lineage-18.1-20211111-nightly-aurora-signed.zip' (~ 47%) adb: failed to read command: No error
PS C: \ Users \ greed \ platform-tools>
I can't reproduce any of your issues. It's working well on my XZ2P. Maybe you have a japanese model (which isn't supported; check the wiki page for that) or you didn't wiped data (clean flash) or something is wrong with your persistent partition. Failing adb at 47% is quite normal. Also that is stated in the wiki:
> Tip: Normally, adb will report Total xfer: 1.00x, but in some cases, even if the process succeeds the output will stop at 47% and report adb: failed to read command: Success. In some cases it will report adb: failed to read command: No error which is also fine.
Please check your model and follow the installation guide
Edit: Sony gave up RAW support. So that's not supported on stock rom and thus also not supported on LineageOS.

And you've installed the copy partitions and wiped data like mentioned in the install instructions before installing LineageOS?
