Fingerprint sensor - Nextbit Robin

I'm new at this phone and added a couple fingerprints my 1st finger in right hand and 2 nd finger on left hand when I hold it. Is it really a clicking first then it vibrates opens up phone? Is there an easier way for the sensor?

Are you asking if there's a way to unlock the phone just by touching the fingerprint sensor? If so, on the stock ROM, there is not. I just press the button and keep my finger on it until it unlocks. Only takes a second.
I haven't tried any custom ROMs (or even rooted for that matter, for Marshmallow and onward, I haven't felt the need to), but one of those might have that ability. I can't make any promises, though.

(Help) Has anyone made a FingerPrint Locking Screen

I was watchin 2012 last night, and i saw a phone that had a fingerprint locking screen.
i know the screen can not read fingerprints, but maybe just by holding the screen for 3 seconds could unlock a primary lock then you can have a pull down tab for the secondry..
I think it would look so cool if anyone had the skills to maybe do something....
Sorry if this is in the wrong place - i presume it is part of the development
Agreed. Would be fun!
Particularly if it looked all cool like it scanned and then had a thumb print image.
Something like it only working if for example you held down the volume button so others who tried it would fail for.
Please somebody run with this!
yer like the idea of the volume button...
i need to learn to code.....
Volume up gives accept screen
Volume down gives fail screen
that would be SOO UBER COOL!!!willing to bet ppl would pay for an app or theme like that...would be nice if u could tweak the unlock though so that even if ppl did know of the app wouldnt know what to press
Agreed, that would be awesome with the volume-key idea.
And yes, people WOULD pay for that.
I had something like this on my old iPhone (yes unfortunately i used to own one )...
On the lock screen it had a finger print scanner and pressing your finger on it used to unlock the phone... it didn't reconise different finger prints but was purely a part of the screen that when touched unlocked the phone.
I think the volume idea was initially and also should be
Press volume button (either) along with touching the screen to get accepted.
or
have it fail after a short time lapse with no buttons being pressed.
That way if someone else picks up your phone and has the "wrong finger" they won't know to press volume as well so will always fail
There's also something similar for symbian, when you place your finger on the screen the display tells you it is scanning, but it also emits little beeps or clicks, you have to release your finger on at the user specified right time to unlock it, i.e after 3rd click or 4th click or whatever.
Using that along with the volume idea would be good.
There is already a couple of finger print unlock apps on the Android market last time i looked.
Something like this:
Search for the package: innerfour.fingersecurity
finger security
theres no package like finger security on my market but i know it exist
so glad it was not just me then that thought this was a great idea - My plan of action is to track it down.......
Lets all have a easter hunt for it....First person to find it gets a kiss or a thank you - which ever they want.....

Cab or other way to disable Screen Align??

Seems the TP2 also has a "grip of death" of sorts. Basically if you hit the Volume Buttons on the side of the devise and touch the screen, it automatically activates the Screen align util and until you complete the Screen align to the devices satisfaction, You are stuck there.
Basically this translates to any time you use the Volume Buttons while holding the phone to your face, It activates the Screen Align Util. (At least that is what happens to me about 10 times a day)
Does anyone know of a way to deactivate this "Feature/Major Annoyance"?
Thanks
mine does not do this. i suspect something is wrong with your device.
This also does not happen with my phone, just tested it out. Even called myself at work. Are you using a cooked ROM or stock? I am using stock ROM from AT&T
Try again. Hit both Volume Buttons (Simultaneously) on the side of the phone and tap the screen, It will start up the align screen until every time. I have verified that this VZN and Sprint TP2`s. It may be a CDMA thing but this feature is designed into the phone (And it sucks!).
Anyone know of a way to disable this?
mine does that from time to time, but I never figured out what causes it, but, you are right it is ANNOYING when it happens.
Cooked rom, if it makes any difference.
Hi all,
Confirmed on UK TP2 - stock WM6.5 ROM, no special apps etc installed. Had to soft reset to get out from a mixed screen align/text message app screen.
No looping align screen after reset - but annoying. Best suggestion (without being sarcastic!) - don't press both volume buttons at once, seems to be a way into a "fix the problem" mode for those with grossly un-aligned screens. How else could you get into align screen to fix the problem? ... aka "feature not a bug".
adam.
both volum buttons?
under what scenario are you hitting both volum buttons at the same time, with enough force to depress them, and touching the screen? I tried doing this on purpose and its almost impossible to do with intention much less on accident. you would have to be gripping your phone with massive, angry, force. maybe the fix is to stop talking to whomever it is that is pissing you off.
in anycase, i still could not get this replicated on the tmobile tp2. of course i am using the fastest and most stable rom provided for this phone: stock wm 6.1 with tf3d. so maybe its a feature of 6.5.x and some rendition of sense 2.x
Hold the Phone in your left hand. In my case my Thumb naturally rests on the Volume Buttons. My Thumb covers both Volume buttons. Now if I get a call and the phone against my Face and I attempt to adjust the volume with my Thumb (By rocking my Thumb up or down), Sometimes I manage to accidentally hit both. If that happens, The Screen align will start up every time because the screen is already touching my face.
I have talked with many other TP2 owners that have this same problems however they did not know what was causing it. All they knew was the Screen align kept starting up randomly.
Back to.. Is it possible to disable this? Maybe even assign a different key combination to start the screen align util such as Vol Down and endcall or something. It is too easy to accidentally press both volume buttons if you are on a call. If you do that while the phone is touching your face, the screen align will start and the phone is now locked until you get out the stylus and go through the realign.

[Q] Touch screen does not always track my finger

Sometimes when scrolling, as I swipe my finger across the screen, it will just stop tracking my finger. Even if I am pressing firmly. Once it stop tracking it will not start again till I fully lift my finger and press down again. It happens on all the roms I have tried so far. unless I use the gpi-ish kernel. If I reboot the problems goes away for a while. I do not know if the issue occurs on the stock rom because the first thing i did was flash. I rooted and flash recovery on 4.2.2.

TWRP 2.8.1.0 Not working on my HTC Desire 816.

Hey guys, so I flashed TWRP onto my device but it keeps freezing when I try to reboot or when I press the power button it brings up the swipe to unlock but then when I slide to unlock it doesnt do anything. I have to hard reset it each time. Anybody have any ideas?
It works, you have to touch the screen with 2 fingers though. Like, 1st hold your finger on what you actually want to tap on, then while the holding the 1st finger down, tap the screen elsewhere with a different finger. when you have to swipe, swipe the bar to far right, hold it at the end, then tap a 2nd finger in the middle of the swipe bar. can't really explain perfectly without hands on lol. I prefer TWRP, so i just played around with it and figured it out. stupid bugs. Also, I don't know if i need specific drivers, but i can't mount my sd card to my PC in TWRP. If anyone can answer that.

[Q] Accidentally putting calls on hold

I love the Note 5, but I keep accidentally putting calls on hold when using it in the "traditional" way - putting the phone to my ear.
I've discovered that somehow the screen is coming back to life while I talk - and I'm accidentally touching the "On Hold" virtual button on the call screen in the upper right corner.
I feel a bit stupid even posting this, but the Note 5 is my first Lollipop and phablet experience. I don't remember the "On Hold" button even showing up on my GSIV call screen. Could it be a proximity sensor issue?
Has anyone else experienced this and if so, is there a fix?
Yes, your proximity sensor may be defective. My screen stays off when I hold the phone to my ear.
As a mitigation, you could try keeping your fingers on the side of the phone, off the screen, and lower than where the hold button is; also, hold the phone at an angle, with only the top edge held against your ear.
I have the same problem...the proximity sensor is fine, screen does go blank when on call..but nearly every day, maybe due to angle I hold phone which makes it think I am not on the phone! It keeps going on hold. Any way to resolve? Or any workarounds people have done? Really annoying, sometimes happens 2-3 times on the same call!!!
I am having the same issue. Any fix for this?
Could glass screen protector be causing this?
