Rooting on 2017 - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi, mates.
Soon I will buy a Mate 9. I come from a KitKat stock rooted ROM on a LG G Pro 2.
By now, I use extensively Titanium backup, Automagic (a tasker like app), secure settings, exposed framework and a few other apps for rooted phones.
Do you think, guys, I will survive without root in my new Nougat phone???
Regards.

Hidden root

I have been using Xposed and Rootcloak to pay by phone until now. However, after installing OOS 4.0.1 rom I can't use it anymore due to there is not Xposed for Nougat yet. Regarding this issue, I wanted to ask you if anybody tried suhide 0.55 with Nougat to make payments by phone. In that case, does it work right? What's the best Supersu I have to install?

As far as I know, none of the ways that worked well before in Marshmallow can work in Nougat at the moment. I'm afraid we have to wait for now [emoji53]

On nougat ROM with everything green. Pogo works (I don't play, I just checked to give you information) Snapchat as well as android pay. Took me awhile but I got it figured out. More of a combo of a few things i read. I basically flashed my ROM, flashed suhide, flashed the new Magisk, booted up, installed phh superuser, installed Root switch, (this is important cuz this was the main reason I was getting CTS mismatch) it switched permissive mode to enforcing and back. I believe Magisk is suppose to do this as well but I couldn't figure it out or it wasn't working.
Just to be clear:
Flash ROM
Flash suHide
Flash Magisk 10.2 (I believe that is current version as of this post)
Reboot
Install phh supersu
Install Root switch
Make sure you are enforcing (by using root switch) and you should be golden.
Hope this helps.
Thanks so much for your suggestion. At this moment I'm using stock rom but I'll think about trying this method with Citrus-Caf rom ?

Buying a note 7

Hi. I'm having a question before buying a note 7 if someone can help : knowing that it's still on stock ROM but updates were disabled vie package disabler so battery still at 100% will I be able to do the same after the phone will be restored as original by the seller ? Will I be able to disable the updates if I will find an old version of package disabler? Or I 'll be force to install a custom ROM ? Thx

Hi.
You can install the shield from the Alliance Note 7 or you can install an app that don't need root to disable packages...

Merci!
I just followed the solid explorer method and is working fine to stop the update.
So for now Im fine with it, discovering my new phone but I wont stay too long on stock 6.0.1. I guess there is a ROM with nougat ported from FE that I ll try someday. Can you confirm that is working fine? I dont care about iris, I wear glasses
Coming from note 5 the 7 is really nice, great phone that Samsung shouldnt kill. I compared it in a store with the 8 which is way too big although I am 6ft tall so I ll stay with 7 while it lasts. If FE will get oreo maybe someone will ported here.
A+

Does anyone know weather the Tech Gods will make the FE ROM available for the Snapdragon Note 7 variants? Or if they already have and I need to spend more then 2 hours reading through these forums?

LG apps on A2Lite?

Hello! Just wanted to know is there a way to install LG G4 native apps like contacts, messages, weather widget etc on my A2Lite? I have got the apk from LG G4, but when I try to install it says cannot install. Any solution? I really like the weather widget and message app of LG G4.
I believe LG apps require LG's special framework, so you wouldn't be able to simply install LG apps on a stock Android device, as the LG UX framework doesn't exist on the device. Also, those apps from the LG G4 are meant for an older version of Android (I believe from Android 5.0 to possibly Android 7.0), therefore the compatibility with Android 9.0 isn't guaranteed.
So, all in all, you cannot run LG stock apps on a non LG device and non LG UX Android OS without extensive porting and recoding in order to ensure the full operation if the app.

Thank you for your reply.
G4 had features like turn phone to silent the call, pic phone to answer etc, can these be added by using Magisk?

I'm not particularly sure about that, I know there were some similar modules for the Xposed Framework, however Xposed is currently not supported by Android 9.0 and by no means should you attempt to install it, as your device will be bricked.
Try searching the web for Magisk Modules, maybe you'll find a list somewhere and hopefully you'll find what you're looking for
