Not sure,
Dash 1 is boot locked, Verizon
All others are unlockable, not sure but mostly at least.

The 02 is the dual sim version. 03 not sure, I think it is a China version.

-02 is also sold as single SIM. My US unlocked single SIM is XT1635-02.
Visually it appears there may be contacts for a Sim in slot 2, so it may only be a firmware difference between single and dual Sim -02s. Haven't hunted around fit a teardown video (if there is one) to try to find out. I'd actually benefit from a dual Sim at the moment, but not convinced it's worth the risk of flashing a dual Sim firmware on a single Sim model to try to find out.

What does it say under "About phone" - "Hardware information" last line "Dual SIM"? True or false?

That line doesn't exist in my "hardware information" menu. NFC is last line.

Here is mine. I'm guessing you don't have dual sim capacity? Hmm...always thought 02 stands for dual sim

Ok, but how do we differentiate between single SIM vs dual SIM, 32GB vs 64GB? Is there any special naming for this?

hi there
I've got two versions. XT1635-02 it is UK dual sim version in my case... ( I was very surprised it is dual sim when it came, I bought it on Motorola UK website..) and I've got XT1635-03 which I bought on aliexpress. It is Chinese dual sim version with 64GB . The latter came with unlocked bootloader for some reason ( box was factory sealed or at least looked like..) and I cannot use Android pay... , however very happy with both.

Hey i have the chinese dual sim 64 gb version and i have the exact same problem. I haven't received any OTAs, and Moto support tells me my phone has been rooted before! I bought it brand new, and the box was sealed!
Have you received any OTA on your Chinese one?

Which countries have the dual sim version?

Basically add stated in the title, thanks!
China & India definitely do, but Z Play released in these countries have very limited LTE bands.
Motorola Colombia Z Play page says it does.
Motorola Germany Z Play page says it does, but all feedback say it doesn't.
I have one and I live in the Netherlands. Mine is dual sim.
Here in Brasil, Moto Z Play is dual SIM.

Just wondering, Is there any way to purchase Moto Z Play from Brasil and ship it overseas? The Brasil version seems like the only version which supports the widest range of LTE bands and also with dual SIM.
I found it on a few Brazilian online stores but it's very pricey compare to selling price in other countries. I'm in Australia so I convert the selling price to AUD.
Brazil - AUD 886 (2200 Brazilian Real)
India - AUD 493 (24999 Indian Rupee)
Mainland europe - about AUD 663 (450 Euro)
USA - AUD 590 (USD 450)

Export smartphones, is not common in stores here, I'm not sure, but I believe that this is not possible. In Brazil, due to high taxes, smartphones are quite expensive. A year ago there was exemption from such taxes, but unfortunately it ended.

Wonder which firmware you have in your device.
My unit has : M8953_10203.02.04.42R ADDISON_ROW_CUST
BuildN#: MPN24.104-25, and I do have "Single Sim only"

no, a UK shop, for the "x play method" I have only 1 sim so I don't need a dual sim now
US variant Moto z Play has the pins for a 2nd SIM card. I tore off the cover on the 2nd sim card slot, put in my sim card....and nothing happened. I didnt look too far into it, but it might be possible to get it working. Im not crazy enough to start flashing radios from other variants though.

Are all Mate 20 X Dual Sim?

I know EVR-L29 represents the dual sim model But are there any single sim models?
Reason I ask is, a shop here in the UK is selling one but don’t say if it’s dual sim or not.
Google struggle to finds any mention of a single sim model.
GSMArena shows a global model and and China model.
Thanks.

Is the XT2013-4 version dual sim or single sim?

Hi, I spotted the XT2013-4 version of the phone in a store and was wondering if it had dual SIM?
I couldn't find much about that specific version online. It appears some versions are dual sim, some other are not, but couldn't figure out which one.
Thank you

Need Clarifications on this mess of Model Numbers & eSIM

So,
Apparently Samsung implamented the eSIM tech within the S20 family...does anyone have a CLEAR understand of which model has what? Normally techwall has a great description of the different models. But there, not once does it mention eSIM, and only ONCE does it mention Dual Sim (988B/FD).
So (2),
988N -> Korean Exynos SingleSim(?) eSIM(?) Snapdragon confirmedOnly one IMEI
9880 -> normally the HK version with dual sim (the note10+ 9750 is dual sim), but is it? or does it have the eSIM enabled
988U - > US unlocked version normally dual SIM
988B/FD - > Dual SIM Exynos (with eSIM also, so you have the choice to use the 2 physical SIMs or 1 physical & eSIM & sd card)
So my questions is summerized by this :
Which Snapdragon has dual "physical" SIMs and which ones have 1 SIM and 1 eSIM... this is so confusing to me

as they "all have eSIM"... does that mean they also ALL have two IMEIs? as that is hardware based also i think. As you can see on this video : Sakitech on s20U at 0:27 there is onyl 1 IMEI. Maybe because it's a dummy version?

wrong
Search for eSIM... but it says "Global Variant"... so i guess the US models won't have them.
This is all very confusing.
I can't post the links cause I'm a new user. But Google for Galaxy s20 specs will get you to the global site. Compare those with the z flip on same site. S20s don't say eSIM. Z flip does.

Usually it's the Hong Kong version.
Here's a question. Can people who have the same model number but don't have 5G enabled (Indonesia), etc be able to activate it via a firmware upgrade, or through XDA magic? Max Weinbach mentioned that the 5G and non 5G phones are exactly the same.

Apple has had dual radio capability since the XS. (2018)
Kind of ridiculous we don't have it in USA with Samsung. Dual SIM is great, no more toting around two (or more) phones. In the past when they were SMALL it wasn't a problem but pushing 7" screen size, it's an issue. Fortunately my Grip6 belt can handle it!

Dual Sim
