[MOD] 3 in 1 Sound Enhancing Mod - Xiaomi Mi MIX Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hey there Mix users. Dont know if you aware of this but I've been using this great all in one sound mod for a long time(on s6 edge plus), recently ''flashed'' on my Mix which runs latest Epic Rom and voila it works great.
The AryaMod Sound Control(application) has got:
+ Viper4Android
+ Beats Audio
+ Dolby Atmos
I've also modified the other Dolby Digital Plus app to make the two Dolbies(Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus) work at the same time but although DDP works, it's getting closed when you tap a button, so no need it currently.
Credit goes to developer of this mod: @Kamy and the people who made this mod possible.

Great share.
Few things I've noticed:
1. It breaks the default Sound Enhancements like HD Audio. Sound settings force closes when you try accessing stock sound enhancements.
2. While the MOD is decent, there is no way to enable Atmos and beats audio only for headphones. I don't like any sound mods on the phone's speaker as there is a significant risk of damaging the tiny internal speaker.
So, everytime I listen to music, I have to launch music player of choice + enable mods.
I have to make sure I manually disable the mods as soon as I unplug headphones to prevent damage to the speaker. And that sucks.
Anyone knows how to revert to stock enhancements without clean flashing?
It was a good share anyway. Wish the app had a setting to automatically disable sound mods on unplugging headphones.
Cheers!

You're right about 1 and 2's some part. Beats audio(V4A also) gets turned off when you unplug headphones but Dolby not. I dont use any of them for speaker too. Sounds weird and echoed lol.
And thanks for reminding 1 to prevent further actions. I will add that as a warning to first post if you dont mind.

I would personally recommend ARISE sound MOD instead of this, it's typical that default sound MOD will be disable and crash when you go into that setting.
I don't think ATOM is that good, I use VIPER mainly and you can have different settings for speaker, headphone, Bluetooth... Etc.
Lastly, to get rid of sound MOD, you simply dirty flash the rom, no need to wipe anything, done in 5mins.

I am a bit of an audiophile myself, i am lucky to own a pretty awsome and rather expensive in-ear (JH-Roxanne), there is no best sound, as it's largely down to your listening device/source/preference, but with my setup and my long history of seeking the best sound, I would share something here which I think a lot of people miss when doing sound mod. If you are using Android phone as your source, and you are listening to something like TIDAL HIFI which is 16/44.1 format, one of the most important thing you want to seek for is a chance for Andoird not to upsample the music. Phones typically don't come with Audio grade DAC, and andoird system put another layer to upsample the music usually to 48000 (because videos are in 48000, but audio are in 44100). If you happen to find a sound mod that sample and play your music at your native frequency at 44,100, and to whatever bits your source is (16 in my case for TIDAL HIFI), then you already have a much cleaner and (much better) sound imo than sound mod that upsample to 48000.
This is the case for me, i tried a lot of sound mod, even different version of ARISE Deut, and luckily i was able to tweak and run ARISE Deut 2.3.3 in my native frequency, no upsampling at all, and this sound is quite a bit better than the newer version of ARISE Deut 2.4 which upsample and i was not able to change that.
I suggest you give it a try, use ROM toolbox tool and goto BuildProp editor and disable 24 bit processing and also change the ARISE setprop, or your audio mod setprop to disable 24 bit processing and force 44,100 sample rate. You might find it to give your sound quarlity a noticably big boost, but again, this is my preference and you may not like it. Also it depends on your file format, if you are only listening Spotify then that's another story, or if you are listening to 24bit file, then that's also difference.
TL/DR, upsampling is bad, there is a good explanation about this online if you want to look into it deeper, having your phone to not upsample your music will imo usually gives you better sound in all of these sound mod.

Thanks for your time to explain and advice, really appreciate it. When i get a new rom to flash, i may try. Im just setting up all my previous apps/mods etc and will be observing the performance/battery life for a while. Also trying to get used to a device with on screen buttons(never liked 'em lol). Lets see how it goes. Thanks again. [emoji106]

The developer has been updated the mod to v3. FYI.

I know that this thread is very old, but I bought the xiaomi mi mix a few weeks ago and I'm still learning what I can and can't do with this beast. Can I use with RR 7.1.2?

How did you guys install the Viper or Arise?
I am currently on Epic Rom MIUI 9 and I couldn't get any of the two to enable the driver
With Magisk and the module or the "classic" way with SuperSu and Busybox it never gets enabled .

Use this Arise zip: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767141554
Select new user and Install:
» Viper 2.5.0.4
» Dolby
» The apps you may like like Esira player, Wlkman player etc
There are some modules like Ice sound etc, you can read about it while installing.
** Uninstall or skip Arkamys audio and MusicFX(constant FC's)
** Set permission to permissive
** AM3D zirene module doesnt seem to be working on Nougat, just saying.
** This module breaks the inbuilt headphones&audio effects feature..
Im actually using 2.89, which has both Dolby digital plus and Dolby atmos that you can use at the same time(to increase optimization).
Let me know ?

Finally I got some time to play with it and It eventually worked
Took some fiddling though because it wouldn't enable but now seems to be working well
Dolby Atmos is crashing but all the other Viper effects work nicely
Thank you! :good:

It's because of the Dolby Atmos is already installed by Epic rom(depends on version). If you want to make the Dolby work correctly; de-compress the Epic rom zip, remove dolby zip and dolby strings from updater-script and recompress the rom zip then cleanly flash it, i mean from scratch which is painfull. Perhaps removing the installed dolby files from the directories then re-flash Arise may help though.

Special PowerAmp PureX+ Presets:
PureXPsychoRealism+ - Just like PureXPsychoRealism; this preset enhances bass effectively (Increased 30Hz - 60Hz bands), enhances treble by increasing 16k band and 8k whilst keeping clarity by reducing 500k, 1k and 2k bands. This is a more precise version of normal PureXPsychoRealism.
General Audio Effects (Equalizer presets only in Sound Enhancements):
PureXPsychoRealism - Experience realistic audio, rich deep bass and realistic acoustics. Best acoustics and bass you will ever hear. (This is best used on Headphones)
PureXHiClarity - Listen to Clarity like never before, from Ultra high frequencies to crystal clear vocals. This is clarity at it's best. (This is best used on earphones)
PureXBeats - Optimized and fine-tuned for Beats by Dr Dre headphones/earphones. Get rid of that terrible 'muddy' sound beats headphones/earphones produce by too much bass, hear more clarity in your Beats headphones/earphones.
Common Effects:
PureXDynamics is a more effective way to minimize volume differences (Like the Dynamic Normalizer) Acts like a audio limiter, it's a more safer way to listen to audio as it softens the other instrument volumes down so that every instrument can still be heard.
Speaker Effects (System-Wide when enabled):
PureXIntenseBLAST - Greatly enhance audio volume of internal speaker (Modded version of xLOUD)
PureXHiFi - Greatly enhance audio quality of internal speaker (Modded version of ClearPhase)
Don't be fooled by your Settings saying ClearPhase and xLOUD in sound settings still, they are just the names, they will still produce the exact same effect as the two above but it is renamed in Walkman Sound Enhancements however
If you are using the phone in a different language OTHER than English, please note that User-Defined 1 is PureXPsychoRealism, User-Defined 2 is PureXHiClarity and Custom is PureXBeats
These effects can all be enabled through Sony Walkman Sound Enhancements.

NOTE: DO NOT INCLUDE ANY OF THE MODS IN THIS THREAD IN ROMS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! I WILL ONLY ASK ONCE, IT IS MANDATORY THAT YOU PM ME OR NOTIFY ME BEFORE YOU PUT THIS IN YOUR ROM OR OPEN ANOTHER THREAD SOMEWHERE ELSE ON XDA,LAST WARNING. ANY THREADS OPENED WITHOUT LETTING ME KNOW WILL BE REPORTED IMMEDIATELY!
NOTE 2: It SHOULD work with all Xperia Firmware-Based ROMs, not so sure about AOSP roms as I have a lock bootloader and therefore I cannot try them out. Please do not constantly ask if it will work for a specific rom, Try before you ask.
NOTE 3: PLEASE! FOR YOUR OWN SAFTEY, MAKE A NAND BACKUP FOR YOUR ROM! I WILL NOT BE GIVING INSTRUCTIONS TO UNINSTALL.
NOTE 4: This mod will work for Locked/Unlocked Bootloaders as long as you have a custom recovery.
NOTE 5: The speaker's audio quality becomes worse as you increase volume, this is because our speaker cannot output good audio quality at loud volumes. It is impossible to keep audio quality and loud volume because of out hardware. The HTC One has a dedicated Amp inside it's chipset which amplifies audio better with more sound, that is why new HTC phones can have very loud speaker volume with good speaker audio quality.
NOTE 6: Sometimes, if you play music, it could take a few seconds to let Sound Enhancements load your settings (This is normal)
NOTE 7: If you are on another device and is using Xperia Z version (The updated version of this soundmod and not PureXAudioLITE) Don't be mistaken that all features work, because it just won't. My audio mod is specifically made for the APQ8064 chipset and WCD9310 DAC (MPQ8064 audio too) the features will not ALL work because every device has different hardware/software, even if it install fine, not all features will work. Don't get confused.
NOTE 8: I advise everyone to go onto XZDualRecovery as it's the only recovery (As I am aware of) which has native init.d installed directly in it's ramdisk just so you can use the init.d scripts in my mod. (Only applies to locked bootloaders)
NOTE 9: If you are having audio skipping issues, make sure that you exclude: Walkman (If you have 2 Walkman apps, select the second one), PureXAudio Engine and MusicFX in STAMINA Mode so that the phone will not try and make it inactive. If you have Skipping in any other music player, add that in the exclude list of Stamina mode.
NOTE 10: Hearing impairment is caused by volumes higher then 85dB as stated in Wiki "If one is exposed to loud sound (including music) at high levels or for extended durations (85 dB A or greater), then hearing impairment will occur." If you feel uncomfortable when hearing music, I strongly advise you to either turn down the volume or have a rest.

Downloaded and flashed it ...but..
Sound enhancements are not working, when in settings under sound sound enhancements dont open at all
In walkman mode sound enhancements also dont open
Plus, it says in the OP that the overall sound coming out of the internal speaker has been increased but again, I did not feel any difference at all, please make this happen since as always internal speaker of the Z1 also is very weak therefore please, increased sound from the internal speaker for ringtones and notifications and increase sound from the in-call speaker greatly will be really nice...
Also, upload the stock sound file in CWM flashable format as well so if anyone wants to go back to stock...I know backup restore from TB should haven been done or backuy CWM or TWRP but I did not do any of those ... CWM & TWRP will reboot after 40 seconds so no use in making a backup for now, plus since my 64GB card is on its way I have not made any TB backups now.. So having a stock sound .zip file will help very much to me and to some other users also...
Hopefully these issues will be solved in the next update..cant wait...
As with all these mods there should be a health warning in the OP that the only way to go back to stock is via a nandroid backup or a clean reinstall of the rom. These sound mods change so many files its next to impossible to manually go back yourself with out a backup.
I know this does not help you, but I hope others will read this and take the backup.

Just installed the V2
Used TWRP to flash first
- After booting, in settings the sound effects are still not responding, meaning I when click on sound effects nothing happens
- In walkman, in settings the sound effects are also not responding
- In google music player, when I click on settings and goto sound effects it opens, but when I goto EQ settings and select any new EQ the EQ sliders does not move at all they all remain at Zero which is right in the middle.
Used CWM to flash and same thing as above for settings, walkman, google music player.
So V2 is not working for me either...

Is Viper4Android compatible with OG? I downloaded zip pack from vipersaudio.com , when i was trying to flash it (i use Philz Touch Recovery , CWM based) , i got "installation aborted" message. Tell me, what i should do, because I'am very curious, i hope that mod mentioned by you is not so crappy as Noozxoide (it had only compessor working, any other fx didn't gave me any difference on very good headphones)
Yes it's. Others users have installed it. Search here in XDA the apk file.

Oh, thank you Viper4Android provides really good sound, it has great benefits (but some drawbacks too).
I haven't tried Convolver yet, because i did'nt downloaded plugins yet. .
My feelings are that:
-Bass is not so powerful as I wanted, but it's quite natural
-Higher freqs are good, i think they are better than using DSP Manager
-I like so much Haas Surroround effect, but it lowers bass
-Other Surroround effects are just bad as DSP Manager Virtual Surroround effect.
-In my opinion FIREqualizer is the same as in DSP Manager
But there are the main disadvantages:
-Even if the bass is so low (i mean deep), it's distorted a bit, when there's a bit more of bass. SRS provides ultra low freq, pumping bass without any distortion.
-Midtones and sound dynamics, there's no "WOW" effect, there's no depth they are a bit flat I remember well how SRS made midtones were so intense, like SRS could auto-fit to every other song/tracks.
Your suggestion helped me much, anyway if someone will port SRS to our phones, i'll try this "beauty"
Old love will not be forgotten:laugh:

So...here you can have some problems because:
-stock player (you mean LG's player?), problably it won't work, you have to use any music player which support external equalizer (try Google Music Player, or Apollo).
-if you you Superuser instead SuperSu, you can have problem with V4A
-if you have any other "Equalizer app" like DSP Manager or Awesome BEATS, or AC!D or Noozxoide, you should delete them and restart the device, or just run V4A, go to V4A's Settings and try safe/compability mode, and restart of course
I not am sure, will it be working on stock, but it's working on CM based roms, you can try modded stock roms like SAVVY or Epsilon

- Yes I mean stock LG music player (Tried poweramp but no success again)
- I have superSu.
- I dont have any other equlazer app.
- I also think that it is because of stock launcher.
The last thing I havent tried yet is the Apollo music app.
And could you also please tell me where are those drivers are installled?
After I install V4A and its drivers, I do not see any driver folder in my folders.
thanks again,

Hello,
The problem is that sometime it is working and sometime not. I have stock and shuttle player. I have got it to work on stock as on shuttle, but not every time. You can check by selecting driver status in Vfx (for headset or phone speaker) if it is enabled as well if it is working.
When it work, its great.
I am also rooted and on stock rom.

I think the problem is stock rom...maybe it doesn't support external eq's. Just try stock modded like Epsilon or SAVVY. Don't worry, you can backup your app data (savegames, and various in-app settings) by using Titanium Backup. V4A is working for sure in any CM based rom. So I recommend you flashing Vanir, PAC-Man or ThinkingBrigde.
any problems that can be (if you really want to stay on your current rom):
-when you launch V4A app first time, does it asks you for SuperUser/root permission? It must asking for root permisions, without this, it won't work
-how did you installed V4A? flashing it from .zip file is not the best idea, my suggestion is downloading it from Play Store (yep, this one with chineese or japanese chars)
BTW, it was using V4A but I'm not so pleased from using it. When I found my fav presets for some songs, they were sounded (sorry 4 my english) much better, i felt they are wider in sound, but when I listened other songs, which they was surroround effects (stereo effects-yep, I am talking about electronic dance music) without modifying sound, with the same presets, all the effect was worse than without V4A. Generally, some some sound better, some worse using it. Furthermore V4A, distortes bass a bit too much, so instead of ultra loooow and clear bass, we have sth nice but distorted , even with using limiter. It's only my opinion, but trust me I am almost audiophile (lol) . I think the genius of SRS WOW HD (the same as in Desire HD) is that, it's changes own presets dynamically, depending of songs (omg, what a shame that SRS is ported for Optimus L7 but not our OG ).
You can try AC!D Sound Mod too, it should be working using stock rom, but I'm not sure if it's fully working, it has some partial bugs and missing some features. The most universal Equalizer at this moment is DSP Manager

If you are using ViPER4Android please try this:
Ultimate Music Effects Mods and Settings
This is a tutorial on using audio mods and settings to achieve maximum sound quality from the devices you are using. Any decent pair of headphones or earphones are capable of delivering much higher quality sound than they do using default device settings and equalizers, and you'll be surprised how far a little tweaking will take your whole music experience.
Mods You Will Need
The magic is made possible entirely thanks to ViPER's Audio,http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2191223, which you will need to install to use the settings described in this thread. Visit the ViPER's Audio page (linked above) and follow their instructions listed in their thread to get ViPER4Android FX installed on your device.
You will also need DSP Manager for a single setting in this tutorial, I've attached the APK for DSP Manager 2.0
The Settings
Once you have ViPER4Android FX and DSP Manager installed, use the following settings to take your music to a whole new level.
ViPER Settings...
MASTER POWER
Enable: This must of course be enabled to switch on the music effects.
PLAYBACK GAIN CONTROL
Enable: Enable PlaybackAGC
Effect Strength: Moderate
Max Gain: 4x
Max Output: -1.9dB
Leave FIREQUALIZER, CONVOLVER, FIELD SURROUND, DIFFERENTIAL SURROUNND, HEADPHONE SURROUND +, and REVERBERATION disabled.
DYNAMIC SYSTEM
Enable: Enable dynamic system.
Select Listening Device: Set to Common Earphone V2
Select Dynamic Bass: Set to 33%
Tube Simulator: Leave tube simulator disabled
FIDELITY CONTROL
Enable Viper Bass: Enable Viper Bass
Select Bass Mode: Set to 40Hz (I've chosen this because it significantly enhances the bass experience in music, by making the bass more "felt" than heard. This makes bass feel more powerful and realistic, but because it requires a decent set of earphones or headphones to actually work properly. By setting the Bass Boost higher for less powerful speakers, it may be possible to achieve the desired bass effect. If bass seems too weak at 40Hz, feel free to set it to 60Hz or even 100Hz as required. Because 40Hz takes real speaker power to pull off, I've noticed that for most earphones it makes bass crisp and powerful without completely overpowering music.)
Select Bass Boost: 10.0dB (for use with a Bass Mode of 40Hz on most headphones and earphones, but may be adjusted as needed on less powerful speakers)
Enable Viper Clarity: Enable Viper Clarity
Select Clarity Mode: Set to XHiFi (I've found that XHiFi enhances the highs and vocals much more effectively than Natural, and really emphasizes sounds that may not even have been heard before)
Select Clarity: Set to default (This ensures that even though highs and vocals are more prominent, they are not overpowering)
AUDITORY SYSTEM PROTECTION
Enable Cure Tech+: This setting is completely optional. Leaving it unchecked ensures that every single detail of music is still heard, while checking it slightly removes very high highs and protects your hearing.
Select Binaural Level: If you do enable Cure Tech+, I'd recommend at least a Moderate setting to truly benefit from the setting. It doesn't have too much of a negative impact, and after getting used to it, music still sounds amazing.
MASTER GATE (LIMITER)
Output gain: 0dB
Channel Pan- 0.5:0.5
Limit Threshold: 0dB
DSP Manager Settings...
The only thing you need to change in DSP Manager is setting
DYNAMIC RANGE COMPRESSION
Enable: Enable Dynamic Range Compression
Select Effect Strength: Extreme
(This brings all elements of the music to an equal volume, which makes music much more detailed and brings out sounds you never heard before, while keeping any bass or vocals from becoming too powerful)
You can double check all of these settings in the images attached.
Remember to hit the Thanks button if your music has never sounded better

NOTE: Please don't forget to thanks EttyN, here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48232144&postcount=1
You need to change the UI to Expert.
I've not installed DSP Manager at the moment and I've changed only the parameter in bold to 6dB, because the sound was a little bit low...
Edit: I advice to keep DSP Manager, the sound improvement is notable!
Hey guys,
I don't know if this fits in this thread, but you were already speaking about it.
So my question is: How to get Viper4Android flawlessy working on the Optimus G? I have tried it many times and with different versions on the stock rom (rooted of course), but when i got i to work and rebooted the phone it didnt work anymore.
It only worked with Neutron Music Player and then I rebooted the phone and it didnt work!

Requirements:
S-Off or HTC Dev unlocked bootloader
Lollipop Sense 7 or Sense 6 (and possibly further back)
Works on sprint variant, not sure about others but it should work on all other variants.

By flashing this mod you agree to take full responsibility for any damages to your device, life, or pet rock.

Teaser Section for upcoming releases:
Update 1.2 Alpha2: We will now be integrating IntenseBlast in this audio mod to increase the volume output of your built in speakers.
We also have FULL harmankardon audio on the cutting block right now and it may be approved by sun_dream soon here, just have to wait and see.
UPDATE: Basket build is down. Until it is restored or I can find the zip I cannot update unless I rebuild this from the ground up.

Take a logcat i cant test viperone as 9.0.0 doesnt work for me no matter what i do. I've seen some dolby stuff in viper though so i think that may be the reason.

This mod was made and tested on nusenseven so it should in fact work on any sense ROM just so long as there are no conflicts such as AudioFX or any other dsp's. With an exception of Viper4Android. If i had to take a guess on the reboots I've seen Dolby references in viper-one so that's probably the issue. Ill have to look into it.
So how do i activate this? I just flash and turn beats on in settings?
Does it affect speakers/headphones/BT?

It is all system wide auto activated, intenseBLAST is the next thing to be integrated and it will be activated by switching beats audio on.. intenseBLAST basically boosts volume on your phones speakers. nothing here is controllable basically.
I can't wait for IntenseBlast + Dolby.
I have to do a clean install of my ROM, but I'll wait until you publish your update with these features (so I can switch from Dragon-Fi to this one)

I'm working on getting a Dolby gui but currently I have nothing in terms of Dolby other than the audio pre-processing and a notification. Harman Kardon is also not as noticeable as on the m8 because its only the base pre-processing and not the whole audio filter. Basically this is going to be a base line mod with a hand full of pre-processing mods, a notification for Dolby, and intense blast to make your phones speakers louder. Sorry for the delay, I'm in the midst of modifying a gpu bios for my Geforce GTX 680 (which includes lots and lots of stability tests). Ill be putting up a link asap with the updated 1.1 zip.

Thats just not possible, If I could I would but I don't think its possible to make a toggle for pre-processing so minor like harman. If we had compatible hardware or a harman source code for all their drivers and things like that I'd just integrate the whole harman kardon suite but we don't and never will. So no there's no way to add any of that, maybe an artificial notification but nothing else.

Well actually now that u mentioned not being possible, have u seen Sun_Dreams S-Rom for the m7? He has successfully ported (audio effect AND the settings section+toggles for the stock settings app) for HTC M8's Harman Kardon, HTC Butterfly 2's JBL Audio, M8/M9's BoomSound... All CONFIRMED working and AUTHENTIC for the m7. Even the experts who didn't believe it was anything other than a placebo effect tried the rom, and 99% of em posted feedback about how shocked they were that it actually all worked...

WHAT.... Im looking into this. Thank you for the info.. any links?
Edit... Already half way done on what you want with hk but i gotta get permission first screens soon
Edit Again: If you use google play music or any streaming music player CLEAR THE CACHE AND DATA FOR THOSE APPS and DELETE ALL DOWNLOADED/CACHED MUSIC IN THOSE APPS. There's an odd bug where it says it cant play the music when you used cached music. Another thing, the next update will break beats audio completely so beats will no longer be in the settings. Let me know of any random reboots aswell.
Updated the OP section with a little sneak preview of what may be to come.

|AUDIO MOD|01-11|ZUK Z2|DAC HAX|DUAL SPEAKERS|shox AUDIO MOD V3.0|

Hey guys...
ScreaMySkrillEX here..
This is an audio mod made specifically for the ZUK Z2(all variants) on the request of @devabhi..
I currently have made this mod for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3(kenzo) and this is gonna be my 2nd device..
Coming back to the mod, this is purely based on hardware tweaks and modding rather than software mods like Dolby atmos, viper4android, etc. which make changes at software-level.
This mod globally enhances the music experience.
What does it do(currently)?
This mod actually enables the earpiece speaker also along with the bottom-firing speakers. So you have a dual speaker config like the HTC10 has where the purpose of the speakers are same. The loudspeaker is untouched but the earpiece behaves like a mid-range booster and adds some more detail for the speaker audio output. I have also some minor tweaks to the headphone audio also. This mod enables CLS_H_HIFI mode during headphone audio playback which should make your listening experience better than stock.
Install Instructions:
1) Download the latest release of shox Audio Mod.
2) Reboot to recovery.
3) Flash the zip.
4) Reboot.
5) Magic.
This mod supports all other software mods like Dolby atmos, viper4android, etc without breaking their functionality and supports all ROMs.
Read the second post for download link, more info and tips.
Thanks to:
@chdloc - Has thought me many things. I learnt most of the tweaking from his advice's and suggestions.
@UltraM8 - For his Ainur SAURON audio mod.
@zhuhang - For his Viper4Android and IRS samples.
@ZeroInfinity - For his contribution to the android community. Has done many great works in audio modding section. His works were the inspiration for me.
@devabhi - For PMing me to add support this device too. This mod is here because of him.
@ahh988 - For being a prominent tester for this mod. Most of the testing has been done by him. This mod is alive thanks to him.
Link to the google drive folder which contains flashable zip of all releases:
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5ratNhH-7mGa1I4VW5wMXlmYjg
Recommended tips:
1)This mod works(should work) on all ROMs and kernels. If there is any compatibility issues or other requests, please post a reply. I will definitely respond to it.
2)Flash Ainur Sauron audio mod made by @UltraM8 along with this mod for a much better experience. This is currently the best audio mod which is the cleanest..Please thank him for his great work...
Link here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/soundmod-ainur-audio-t3450516
3)Users who need more tweaking to the audio can use Viper4Android.
Link here:http://vipersaudio.com/blog/?page_id=25
4)I have included some of the best IRS samples for viper4android(according to me). So try it out if you are using viper4android for complete control over your music. Extract the zip and place the contents in viper4android/kernel directory of your internal storage.(the zip provided is not recovery flashable).
5)People who use MX player for videos can enable SW audio boost which will further increase the sound levels through speakers without any distortions..
It is recommended not to listen through speakers at full volume for longer periods.. Keep the volume low by 1 or 2 steps from the max.
6)People who think that the present max volume through headphones isn't enough can install viper4android and increase output gain to 6dB in master gate..
My personal Viper4Android settings:
Master power - on
Playback gain control - off
FET compressor - off
Viper DDC - on, set to sennheiser hd558
Spectrum extension - on, set to 1.0
Firequalizer - off
Convolver - off
Differential surround, field surround, headphone surround+, reverberation - all set to off
Dynamic system - off
Viper bass - off
Viper clarity - off
Tube sound simulator - off
AnalogX - on, set to extreme
My earphones :
1) Sennheiser cx180 street-II - daily outdoor use.
2) Skullcandy Ink'D - used rarely.
3) Sony MDR-ED12LP - used when I'm at home.
Changelogs:
V1 - *initial release.
*increased amp gain for more headphone volume and decreased DAC gains to remove distortions.
*added dual speaker config like htc10.
V1.1 - *added support to flyme OS(thanks to @sonictrain for reporting)
V1.2 - *enabled compander for headphone audio to increase the amp gain to the max.
*readjusted earpiece and loudspeaker audio for both htc10 and stereo version.
*added a new version called stereo version
*htc10 version is the default dual speaker config which I had made in the initial release of the mod.
*stereo version enables stereo playback through speaker audio. Earpiece behaves as left speaker and loudspeaker behaves as the right speaker. Its a true stereo effect. You can check it out with stereo test music or app.
V1.3 - *added support for stock ZUI ROM (thanks to @ahh988)
*added a new version called stock version which only makes changes to audio through headphone jack without touching anything else. So now you have three versions:
1)stock version
2)htc10 version
3)stereo version
*made some changes to volumes of all streams from 87(ZUK stock) to 84(hardware stock value). I don't know why did ZUK people kept it at 87. This will remove distortions in headphone e audio.
*added an impedance selection for people who use headphones with high or low impedance. The installer configures the amp settings appropriately to give you the best audio experience possible.
*Increased amp volume from stock value 12 to 16 for low impedance and 20 for high impedance to boost headphone jack output volume without causing any distortions.
*added ota survival script for the mod.
*finally, integrated the mod into an aroma installer.(thanks to @MOVZX)
*Retuned stereo version to balance the audio and give a perfect sound (thanks to @ahh988)
*added 24-bit audio rendering through headphone jack output to increase sound quality.

V1.1 uploaded to drive folder.
Flash it and see once...
@sonictrain
Flyme OS which you use has mixer_paths_tasha_z2_plus.xml also along with the original one. Seems like the ROM uses the z2 plus xml.
So my mod wasn't working..
Please check v1.1.
I have uploaded it to google drive folder.

*added support to flyme OS(thanks to @sonictrain for reporting)
nice work,keep going
Thanks for the mod! But what's new on version 1.2_stereo and 1.2_htc10?
What's is the difference between them?
And I think the earpiece volume could be a little higher.
I'm on AEX 4.3 with ARISE Sound Mod (Dolby Plus + ICE)

Sorry there, forgot to update the changelog.
Check the second thread, now its updated.

create own DAC profiles / or control via Viper4android

Is there a way to control the DAC via viper 4android, so that it amplifies the viper effects or the sound?
From what I've done by installing V4A as a magisk module, DAC works as usual and V4A on top, certainly, sounds better, but i thinks still has little bit quiet sound...
I still have the feeling that if I let run in parallel with viper that the viper sound sometimes a little bit steer? and I think that the profiles of the DAC do not quite harmonize with viper? So I thought, if there is a possibility, that you can turn the dac on and off, but tonal only steers over viper
I think the sound does not sound as clean and clear as on my z2. even without dac. actually the LG would have to sound much better than my z2. I'm a little bit mystified. I've already disabled the LG Equalizer, but has not brought any improvement with Viper4android
lol you guys are trying to fix something that isn't broken. in fact, you're trying to fix the most outstanding feature of this phone!
At least it would be nice if you could switch off the standart equalizer. because the profile is Normal, it does not mean at the same time that the equalizer is off. then I suspect that if I have viper installed, there are problems with the volume. that the lg and viper hinder each other and that's why such a bad sound arises, even if the dac is off
Do you unterstand at all how viper vs build-in DAC works?
The only way, afaik, for bypass the default EQ and filters is using USB audio player Pro, since pass bitperfect data to the DAC skipping any post process.
To be honest I don't know why you want to use viper, you only add a lot of junk to the sound, don't get me wrong but If you're not happy with the sound maybe you should buy better headphones.
is there anyone who can port Viper4android for the G7? I found out that some of the original sound files have to be changed or replaced. if it should sound neat and clean.
can someone tell me what the file is responsible for in the directory vendor / radio?
because I have now deleted this file and still the LGEqualizer apk and have the pure sound of tidal. and it sounds a lot better. I just wanted to know what the file in the radio folder is good for.
