LineageOS for Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 (mondrianwifi) - LineageOS Questions & Answers

Hello,
When will the LineageOS ROM be available officialy for mondrianwifi (Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4) to download ?
Thanks a lot,
A patient user

Looks like the build failed 5 days ago. Perhaps at the next weekly go around it will build.
https://jenkins.lineageos.org/job/android/609/

10 days after the last try to build, nothing new. I hope when it is available, the experimental build for migration from CM will still be available ...

Could I help in anyway ?

Sorry to necro an old thread, but I finally got around to putting Lineage on my Tab Pro and was wondering if there was going to be a v14 for it? Just curious... 13 is certainly fine compared to the junk that came on it hah.

Sammie SM T320.,..
I was wondering about to stalled downloads for about a month so far
As of March 14 2018 it has been over a month
In addition I am wondering whether 14 0r 15 is in the future for Sammie sm t320?

Which cyanogenmod build (official or unofficial) to use ?

Hello,
I tried to search "cyanogenmod" in this forum but the search engine crashed repeatedly. So let me post my question here.
I plan to purchase the Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 2014 (SM-P600) for mainly hand writing notes purpose. I also would like to install cyanogenmod (even if it voids the warranty),
but although this device is within the officialy supported device list, there is still no stable release for it, just nightly ones.
Within the developer section of this forum, I saw several cyanogenmod threads where some unofficial roms are proposed. So my question is : which cyanogenmod rom to install ? preferably the most stable one and with a working S-pen.
I would be grateful to one developer to lead me towards a working rom for this device.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards

Flash the unofficial release. Official CM doesn't have proper device support and never will. Also, don't upgrade the stock rom to Lollipop in order to keep the KitKat bootloader. The Lollipop bootloader causes CM not to play well with the s-pen.

Actually cyanogenmod changed their minds and just updated to our new repos just a few hours ago so you should be able to grab the next official build of CM13 when it gets released.

Best 8.0 ROM for D855 ?

Yoo!
As the title.
Want to know the most stable Android 8 ROM for D855 model these days.
Currently using LineageOS, and rip my battery since i made the updates.
Thanks in advance.
I have that problem as well. Because of Lineageos, charging takes four to six hours a day. I need to wait a bit longer oreo for a while or I need a new kernel.

where to find security update

I have twrp installed and updated, after fighting with gapps for sometime I managed to get pico installed ( don't know why was such a problem I have 10gb of storage available), and lineage 14.1 on my nexus 7 2013 wifi (flo). My lineage version is 15.1-20180815, my android security patch level is "August 5, 2018".
I'm trying to find out if there is a newer security patch version available, I can flash or sideload and where to download it from. Google stopped with seciruty patches for my N7 almost 2 years ago, so thats a no go. Anyone know where to get the latest, if there is a later than August on lineage.

My apologies to the forum for posting this in the wrong thread section. I was at it until 3 am last night. I guess an August 2018 security patch from lineage is a lot better than what I was getting from Goog which was zilch. I can't believe have fast this old N7'13 is running now. Just wanted to thank the forum for all the links and info on how to install twrp & a new mod, this was my first try at it.

Maybe some custom ROM (stable ,not made from beta release ) will come up in a month or two.
Tody i have tried to install the gsi port ,but the developer has to fix the zip file ,because can't install it . And it won't be bugless, believe me.The stock Android 10 won't be bugless untill at least 2 or 3 updates
Hello any news when will get android 10? This or next year?

So about your question : Nobody can tell you for sure! And it's normal, because android 10 was released 2 weeks ago (Some of the Pixel users have issues, because it's the initial release),so maybe next year we'll have a stable (or not ) Stock firmware.
But if you want to try Android 10 ,just flash the GSI version from the thread in ROMS/KERNELS - it is stable ,the only 3 problems that i have were : 2dtw don't work, if you want to sync Chrome with you google acc. you'll need a gms apk(you can find the link in the comments) and the last one - WiFi Display (the ROM is ported ,and every ported rom have this problem)
It's perfect for a daily driver, just don't use Live Wallpaper (The phone lags with live wallpaper)

Hi, I updated my Tab S T-800 with Resurrection Remix based on 14.1 and it works really great.
Tried LOS15.1 too, but wasn't stable.

Guys, I have Samsung Galaxy TAB S (SM T805) if I update it to a newer version will it be faster?
Or if I root the tablet?

Newer firmware doesn't necessarily make the device faster. There isn't much you can do about a 9 yr old device.
Since the T800/T805 are not Treble compliant, the only way to run newer firmware is via custom ROMs, although I doubt development on devices this old gets much attention.
So what I understand is there is not much to do with the tablet to make it a little bit faster.
What about root or that is a different matter?
And last question about

Root is a different matter. In most cases, you can flash the Magisk app through TWRP, and Magisk will automatically detect the right way to root your device. If TWRP is not available, you'll need to patch the AP firmware file in Magisk, then flash to your device with Odin.

Would you be able to suggest which old tablets could make sense to flash semi-current roms onto? I tried to bring back some old device to reuse for home assistant display, but it's too old... Been thinking about these samsungs, but from this thread it's also a bit too old.

I don't have any suggestions, sorry. I have a Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (T290) at home that I'm running an AOSP GSI on, but those were released in 2018.

imho it's correct that a custom ROM doesn't necessarily make old devices faster, but I experienced it such that at least they don't get slower (except I9195).
Recently I was allowed to support development of Android 19=LOS 20 for my T325 and it runs like hell.
P600 and P900 on LOS14, T810 on LOS19 all using daily in different rooms.
I9195 on LOS18 (that is really laggy) N910F on LOS18 as backup devices.
