LENOVO P2 Battery stats -> No signal time - Lenovo P2 Questions & Answers

Is someone see that No signal Time on Lenovo P2 is high ? Even if there good signal ? On battery stats I see this:

Yup, have the same thing, interesting...

I don't have this issue. I have 1d2h up, 10h no signal, which was overnight in airplane mode, so all correct. Which SIM slots u using? I'm SIM one only. UK.

sim+microsd

same me sim+ sd card hmmm...

I'm like @helppme Uk version , sim1+micro sd, the no signal is simply the time I was on airplane mode.

same for me too
No signal Time is competing with Signal time

Okay,. So I dropped my first p2, unrepairable. Just got brand new replacement... Guess what, I know HAVE this signal problem. I'm going to do some checking but I suspect it is related to wifi connection. I.e. it appears to only record as good signal when I'm on a wifi network!!! Odd!!! Also, this p2 arrived with a 100% dead battery. Did a full charge out of box, but i can already see that 12h sot is unlikely. In addition, if I turn off and reboot phone, my battery stats completely restart as if I have been on charge.... Very lame.... Also this must be software related so what are Lenovo playing at???

Update, my no signal time is the same as my 'standby' time. So it is only recording signal on time when I'm actively using phone... What a load of nonsense.... On plus side this handset appears to have zero audio interference even with wifi on... Guess it is a lottery

hehe

. Yea my case arrived the day after to taunt me!! As an aside it is a design issue. The bevelled aluminium edge means the metal is very thin where it meets screen. My phone did not fall far but it landed badly, the thin metal got pressed against glass and it shattered. It means it is a serious weak point, the shock of a drop on a corner even from a 30cm could be enough to shatter screen.. my fault ultimately but this is quite a delicate phone it turns out.

That's why I've got silicone case and soon will apply a tempered glass too.

[Q] [Help] Network reception problems after attempting screen repair

Hi everyone.
I wonder if anyone could be of some help please.
A couple of days ago I attempted to replace the digitiser of my One X due to it having a large scratch on the glass, I consulted various guides and followed them but unfortunately I couldn't carry out the repair as several pieces within the phone are heavily glued down (such as the battery so I aborted the repair and put everything back.
Wifi and bluetooth work just fine with no problems however my network reception has been cut in half, normally at home I can achieve between 4 or 5 bars signal, now however I only seem to get 1 or 2 bars and when I'm out I frequently lose reception.
I opened the phone again to examine the aerial (the thin wire that connects to two point down the side of the phone and I could see no obvious problem.
So my question is, have I potentially damaged the aerial? Or is it supposed to be connected in a special way such as connected the otherway around or does the wire need to be tense or relaxed? etc
Maybe there is another connection I need to check over?
If needed I can take a picture of how it looks currently.
Thanks in advance for any help.
I had this exact problem. you need to check the little black cable (to the right of the battery) is connected at both ends.
the top connects to the motherboard and the bottom conencts to the docking connector board.
Check the pop connectors on the boards are still intact. If u have buggered up the bottom as I did u can get a replacement for about 8 quid. if its the top then I guess u need to replace the motherboard which aint cheap!
---------- Post added at 02:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:52 PM ----------
please let me see a pic also mate
Ah it's ok now I've fixed it. I turned the aerial around and made sure it was as straight as possible. I did also notice that one of the gold plated connectors at the bottom were slightly bent down, so I carefully brought it back up.
Put it all back together and now I've got full signal again.
Thanks anyway pal

No worries mate, glad your almost fail was no where near as epic as my major fail! I had to spend all night figuring out wtf i had done then wait for 2 days for the spare part to arrive lol!!!!!
I still think I've somehow damaged it though, even though the signal is a lot better now, it's now where near as good as it used to be.
Makes me question whether or not I want to get another HTC phone when my contract is due though, servicing it is so hard and all that damn glue. I nearly ripped the wifi aerial thanks to all that glue.

[Q] Tablet popped in the middle?!

Hi guys,
I just bought a Nexus 7 2013 Wifi Tablet, 32GB edition.
Used it for a while, and I had a problem with the software keys so I tried to unroot it using SuperSU.
Right after it unrooted, I heard a small 'pop' and a big smudge appeared on the middle of the back side of the device.
Before it happened, I think SuperSU said something about some cores.
Anyway, I don't have any problems yet, but the smudge is still there, and the texture of where it is is very soft and smells burned a little bit.
What happened to my tablet?
Hardware failure. RMA it.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
May be the battery failure. Had similiar thing on my diamond2.
Battery were working fine, but if you touch the bump phone always reboots.
Wait...does that mean SuperSU caused it?

Who knows, could be a coincident.
Most likely, your battery is damaged. There isn't much stuff in the middle:
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus+7+2nd+Generation+Teardown/16072/1
Damaged lipo batteries like to go up in flames. If I were you, I wouldn't recharge it (especially dangerous) and replace it as soon as possible.
What did it say about cores? Was it real hot?
That is too freaky!

Almost certainly a coincidence I think. Sounds like the battery has failed, as mentioned, as that's where it is on the device.

Surely if he got through the rooting process then he no longer has any warranty?
Ok, update:
After I had read your replies saying it might be the battery, I tried and recharged it with no problems.
Also, the battery health in the battery monitoring application shows 'good', with normal temperature and the voltage is nominal.
I had no issues whatsoever, not with battery, performance or stability.
Funniest thing- when I woke up and checked the tablet, there was no smudge.
After a few minutes of usage, the smudge reappeared.
Maybe it's just my finger that holds the tablet or something?
I think I panicked without just.

If he can get it on to see the screen he would be able to unroot it and send it in. Smudge or not its better to have a brand new one that works before you go customizing an out of box POS. In my opinion.

I'd consider opening the back of the unit VERY carefully and having a look to check that the battery hasn't failed. You don't want to be regularly charging, discharging, and carrying around with you, a failed Li-ion battery.
I noticed similar smudges around the Nexus logo on my 32GB as well, except I never heard a popping sound. I've been dealing with a bunch of random reboots too. Even stranger, they only seem to happen (as far as I can remember) when its unplugged. I never considered a battery failure before, since it holds a charge and recharges just fine, but there could be something to it. I think its worth looking into a little more.
Definitely a hardware failure. I'm running my N7 at 2.2GHz CPU and 647Mhz GPU with no issues. Battery is obviously an issue, but it hasn't blown up on me, yet.

Actually, I noticed myself that the smudges are perfectly around the Nexus writing.
I mean, like an outline of some sort- but they cover a little bit more.
About the 'pop'- i'm not so sure now it was related to the tablet, as I heard other 'pops' now in my room, probably because of the weather that gets cold during nights here.
I'm not even sure now there is a problem... as I have ZERO issues (the battery is great btw).

The adhesive used to glue the Nexus lettering in is notoriously smudgy so it could be you're seeing that leak out from behind the letters.
If it's charging okay it's probably alright.

I'm inclined to think this^^ is what you are seeing.
I have the 32GB LTE version and the first time I saw the smudge I thought it was a stain it picked up from somewhere. It isnt very visible most of the time and only shows up when wet (sweat?)
Tried rubbing alcohol to remove it - Didn't work. However the smudge showed up very clearly when i wiped the back with alcohol and disappeared as it dried. The pics attached shows this better.

Battery drain after screen replacement

Hi all,
I broke my display screen (inside screen) so I bought one on Ebay UK.
The screen has the same reference of the original one: 60H00443
After the screen replacement, the phone is draining the battery in 2-4 hours, and the phone is getting really hot right now.
I am not sure if the issue was at the assembly process or if it is a screen issue (not original???).
I will open the phone again in order to have a look, but I would like to know if anyone went through something similar.
Thanks!

I found I do not have GSM signal. it must be the antenna... do you know where is it located?
I am in a similar situation, though that is how I bought the entire device from eBay. I can barely make it 11hr on the device (and that is the device just being on, maybe answer a call or two).
My apologies that I am offering no solution. I am hoping someone else replies.

In this place
you should check what is draining your battery first. Drainage from display or scanning for signal. Check in your setting.

I did not find the reason behind the battery drain, I can just say that in flight mode, the drain is still there.
In my case, the battery is gone after 3/4 hours :cyclops:

Thats actually a really awesome idea with using the mag charging ports! if it were 50 bucks i would get one right now

You asked for it
1. I would like to see photos of the phone with and without the case lying on a flat surface, to get am idea of how thick it is.
2. When you use the case, does the phone think it's constantly being charged? What amount of days shows you ultrastamina mode?
3. How long does it take to charge fully?
4. Do you notice any overheating issues after using the case for some time?
Thanks, that's all I can think of at the moment

The case has a button on the rear of the case to enable the charging process. When the case is deactivated the phone behaves as it would without the case. With the case activated it behaves as it would when sitting in a charging dock or with a magnetic charging cable attached.
The only 'downside' so far to the use of magnetic charging port is that when the case is activated the phone believes it is in a 'dock' and automatically answers phone calls with the loud speaker on.
But I have found mention of an xposed module that may rectify this automation, I will report back with a link when I have tested to confirm its effect.
I am studying all this week so give me a little while to fully answer all your questions, but I will answer them

Here are some photos that hopefully show the case and it's proportions well enough.
I'm no photographer by any means though haha.

oh I agree. I wanted it mainly as an alternative to carrying a separate power bank hanging off the phone via USB cable. At least this case attaches neatly to the phone and can still fit my pocket.
So yes, ugly, but highly practical.
I feel I should also mention the build quality is really very good, it feels very solid.

Well, given the info on their homepage it should last at least twice as long as your phone does now.
built in battery is 2600mAH, the mugen brings an additional 3000mAh. So I guess in Ultra-Stamina mode it basically lasts like an old Nokia? I was actually about ordering one for my upcoming transatlantic flight, but I just saw that they'll ship again in mid-June only
Well, I will receive the mugen battery in 10 days, I don't use ultra stamina but stamina is on all the time so I will see exactly the difference. Now I have between 8 and 10 hours sot, if I have between 16 and 20 hours sot, it's just great so I wait to see ?.

Any more impressions now that you've had it for a short while? I'm really temped to buy one too.. it's just one of those "good-to-have" things.
Also, do you charge it via micro usb, like the smartphone and how long does it take to charge the battery case completely?
Btw, do we already know the size of the Z4 Compact? it would be great if it worked on the upcoming model too..

So far so good! I do intend to put some more stats up from my usage I've just been flat out with university. Luckily that all wraps up next week!
Yep it just charges via the same cable as the phone.
The use of the magnetic charging port definitely makes the case much more useful. I had an epic ZeroLemon case for my note 3 with a built in extended battery and it such an ordeal to install and remove the phone from the case. This is a much better solution.
It's hard to measure the effect it has on predicted battery life because it charges via the magnetic charging port the phone recognises it as an AC charging source.
Once I have got some stats I might even make a little youtube review, maybe, don't want to get famous hahahaha.

[Q] 8" Tab HOT in the cornor...constant battery drain..Even when Off

HI.. I have the Tab 3 8" SM-T315
2 weeks ago, it wouldn't charge up all the way, and the battery ran down SUPER fast.. Even when powered off.
It's about 4-5 years old, so I paid for a new battery to be put in.
Guess what?? Same deal.. The thing gets hot in the upper left corner EVEN when powered off.
And the thing is discharging like crazy.
Plus it wont fully charge at all.
I cant get no more that 2hours on the battery after about 2/3'rds charge (that's all she'll take) when on, and when off, the hot corner is still there..
Well maybe not real HOT, but more than warm. ON, Charging, and OFF.. still stays good and warm, on and off the charger.
Can any-1 care to make a few assumptions??
This came on all of a sudden with NO additional apps installed in over 6 months.
F/R, wipes, etc.. Flashed latest rom from Sammobile last week.
Thanks alot to all who reply.

Thanks for replying, nope no drops, no water damage, no nothing. It's sat for about 3 months with no activity. But did charge up fine. I used it for about 2 weeks then all of a sudden one day I noticed it wouldn't charge up all the way and the corner was hot. Just last night I got it to charge to 90%. Powered it down, and in the morning battery is completely dead. Something is making a discharge even a while it is off. I guess I need to find somebody who can work on it.
Most likely unless you're comfortable with disassembly. Like I said what's bad maybe easily replaceable. I bought a wifi Antenna for my s3 on ebay for like 3 bucks new
