It's simple, you create a 1080 by 1920 resolution image and then create a .bin file using Moto Logo Maker or any other program.

Make sure you have proper drivers installed (I'll update the OP and list this as a requirement) and that you're trying the fastboot command after you've put your phone in the bootloader mode, manually or by using:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
and confirm if fastboot is working by:
Code:
fastboot devices
This should return your phone's serial number.

It appears after I use the fastboot commands to install the bin created with the images I just typed above. Could you create for me the images I sent? Well, I'm creating it, it's not working. Or if you can do a video lesson on how to do and install on the cell phone I would greatly appreciate it!

I already had a similar one but hadn't uploaded it earlier. Check the thumbnail in the OP (motocoloured). But it has the standard battery low and other screens from the stock firmware. Check if you're okay with it or i'll replace the other sections too.
Actually hiding the n/a is kinda difficult so we need to hide it with a white background.

Could you make a video lesson on how to create the boot soon with the images we want? Because the ones that I create do not exceed 200k and I have seen that the correct one is to have more than 1MB. I do not know where I am wrong because I customize the size at 1080 x 1920 and only give the same error.

The logo_boot, logo_unlocked can be added but you'll get an ugly n/a written on the mid left of the screen, that's why I overlapped that part with a white image. I'll add the battery, low powered and charged ones. Check PM! :good: And since I have my final exams in the next month I won't be able to create a video as of now. I'll create a file which has the steps shown visually using step recorder on Windows. Again, check PM.

Android eating Apple splash image

Hey all,
Just made a splash image that I think you guys might appreciate. My friend showed me the picture and I decided to do the necessary changes to make it into a splash.
For your viewing pleasure
To flash: Download the zip then with an unlocked (S-OFF) bootloader, flash the new_splash.img file to your phone:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash splash1 new_splash.img
fastboot reboot
i would rather have it as a background
my boot image shows 1 micro second. not worth even thinking about changing it.
Well the png is there too so u can use it as a background I guess

Some kind of bloody :-D but looks great, although I'm running a MacBook bit I also love my Android mobile.
Does it work to flash this lb other Android systems like 2. 1/ 2. 2k any experiences?
Thx guys

This is just a splash image file so as long as your screen size is 480 x 800. You can search for how to change the splash image for your particular phone and then just use this file. I'm sure it will work on any version of android
Anyone have the adb commands handy for pulling the stock splash image just in case I want to put it back?
This is a copy of the original splash that I found in another thread.
did that last attachment post?
lets try that again. this is the default splash.

Even though the original splash is posted, the commands to pull the old one are to be executed from a root shell and are as follows:
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p19 of=/mnt/sdcard/splash.img
You may have to do a search for it because when I pulled mine it put it into a random folder on my computer

[SPLASH1] Google Edition/Nexus Splash Screen

I also posted this in the bootloader/recovery dump thread - but I think this is a good place for it - I haven't seen too much about splash1 screens around here anyway.
Note:
This is not actually pulled from the google edition. But it pretty much exactly replicates it (same style as the nexus phones too). I just wanted to have this on my phone so I made it.
You need to be S-off
Looks:
Like this - http://i53.tinypic.com/m74byg.jpg (This is not the actual image, the actual one is 1080x1920 and in a nb format, but you get the idea)
Install:
1.) Download it from here: http://goo.im/devs/bbedward/GESplash.zip
2.) Install it like this
Code:
# adb reboot bootloader
# fastboot oem rebootRUU
# fastboot flash zip GESplash.zip
# fastboot reboot
As usual, if your phone blows up or you want a different splash after trying this I'm not responsible :good:

It will not remove the red warning text. That text is created dynamically by hboot when your bootloader is unlocked; it's not part of the splash screen. The only way to remove it is to flash a custom hboot.

If the stock splash isn't in either of the firmware.zips, RUU may be only way. Unless the M8 one works.

GUIDE - Replace "N/A" boot image? [QUALCOMM] Moto E4

The credit for this guide goes to @1chrome, who made the guide for the Moto G4/G4+. Everything is basically the same, aside from the position of the N/A.
The problem - When we unlock our bootloaders and install TWRP, the Moto boot logo is replaced with a black screen that says N/A. Now, thanks to @mikaleee, we have a template to create custom bootlogo images. Unfortunately, even though we can replace the plain black bootlogo, whatever image we replace it with will still have the N/A overlay show up. However, depending on the image used, or your creativity, you can use white/light images to hide the N/A.
On the attached template, there is a black block to illustrate where the N/A will show up on an image. Again, depending on the background of the image used, or your creativity, you will be able to hide the N/A with lighter colors.
I have attached pictures to illustrate.
What you’ll need to create your own bootlogo:
1. Windows PC
2. Moto Bootlogo Maker from here (all credits to @caitsith2) and @xpmule (12/18/17 UPDATED LINK TO CORRECT VERSION OF MOTOBOOTLOGOMAKER)
3. Your desired image (in 720 x 1280 px resolution, PNG/JPG)
4. MotoE4-BootLogo.bin I've created for reference (Attached below. Unzip before using)
Procedure:
1. Open Moto Bootlogo Maker
2. Go to File > Open > Select MotoE4-BootLogo.bin
3. Once loaded, ensure that the Motorola device is listed as Custom and the resolution is set to 720 x 1280.
4. Replace the following entries with your custom image. You can either double click or select replace.
* logo_boot
* logo_unlocked
* yellow
* red
* orange
5. When done, select File>Save As. This will create a flashable zip that you can install with TWRP.
I’ve also attached a custom bootlogo, but it will display the N/A as I’ve not had time to find other images to play with. However, it may be a nice replacement until you create your own.
Original Post
I am rooted and have TWRP installed. Naturally, when i boot the phone I get the black screen with "N/A".
I have tried flashing a new logo.bin image through TWRP, Terminal Emulator, and even ADB. Nothing works. All guides pretty much say the same thing, and the actual procedure isn't that difficult, so why is replacing the logo.bin on the E4 so dang difficult? I have my images formatted to 720x1280. I've looked at the stock logo.bin. I can't figure this one out. It would be nice to boot up and not see "N/A", although it isn't the end of the world. But now this is a freakin' quest!
Any advice?
I've been trying to figure it out myself

Dude, you're AWESOME! I had been replacing images in the logo.bin I extracted from the retail firmware. I notice in your logo.bin, there are entries for red, yellow, & orange (just like the Moto G4 I have). However, in the retail firmware logo.bin, they are labeled as yellow warning, red warning, orange warning, and those did not work for me on the E4. I had considered using the template from the G4 but didn't think it would work. Regardless, you have now provided a template to create custom bootlogos.
To hide the "N/A", one would need to either use a white background for the logo, or creatively use white/light images to hide the "N/A".
When I have time later, I'll update the OP with a guide/template to create custom boot logos.
THANKS FOR FIGURING THIS OUT!
Yeah I actually started with a logo.bin from a G5 (provided by somebody in the forums) and then opened another window with the "official" logo.bin from the E4 stock, extracted every icon and replaced the G5 larger ones with the E4 ones. And changed the resolution. This was the only way I could get it to show up. When I tried replacing boot logo in the default E4 one just got a black screen. So finally a working template
OP updated with guide and template.

3. Flash using the following code:
Code:
fastboot -i 0x2b4c flash splash splash.img
Note: If you're on a linux machine run fastboot as super user.
ORCopy the downloaded file in the root of internal storage and rename as splash.img
Flash using Terminal on Your Phone:
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/splash.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/splash

I can make it but won't be able to test it as my phone is currently bricked. I can create the zip and give it to you if you're willing to take the risk. Never done this before so can't guarantee. As soon as my phone will be back I'll surely do it.
