LG G5 loud piercing intermittent sound out of nowhere. Help! - Sprint LG G5 Questions & Answers

Comes out of nowhere..not all the time.
When I have volume on (not vibrate) phone will make a loud 1 second interval on/off "home fire alarm" sound.
Very annoying. Phone has never got hot, holds a great charge, and I can surf the net as usual.
I am with Sprint and cannot find any solutions online or anywhere. Has anyone else seen this?
Dave

this is still a huge problem. its giving m random beeps. i just upgraded the firmware and i still have the problem
I know it's late, but for anyone else experiencing this I believe I found the fix from another forum.
you replace the Default.wav file in the /Windows with a silent wav file.
I copied it to my computer, had to uncheck the read-only setting then opened in soundrecorder. it sure enough is that horrible beep. play it then select "delete before current position" Save it and replace.
haven't heard a beep yet

You healed the fever but did not cure the disease... check your appointments, alarms to see if is one of them that is causing it. You stopped the sound from playing, but whatever is causing the beeps is still there.
Try a hard-reset and do not sync with your PC for 2 or three hours. Also, do not install any app and let us know further.
Regards.
sounds like low bat issue or a missed message a missed text or mms or email that has not been looked at can cause it to send a reminder every 15 mins if you have that turned on. the one thing i had to do was open every email in the phone i had one not read and beep beep beep.
now your power might be high but if the battery is failing like mine i get the beeps at 50% because the bat is crap and at less then 50 shuts off.
is your phone on wifi?
if it has wifi enabled it'll beep everytime it searches out a new connection
those sound like logical answers but my phone had none of those symptoms....
I checked everything I could possibly think of. The people on the forum where i found that "fix" seemed to be just as baffled and nobody ever really came to any conclusion.
someone suggested searching the registry for instances of that .wav file and removing them but that didn't seem to help either
blanking the wav seems to be the only remedy for that annoying noise you're gonna find if you do happen to have this problem

Not getting audio or vibrating notifications when screen is turned off

For some reason, I'm not getting notifications of text messages when my screen is turned off. Neither the actual audio or the vibrating. It's sporadic; sometimes it works just fine. But it's becoming a problem. I have xdaShutdown, but I'd hate to have to use that every time. I haven't even tried it to find if it makes any difference because it's just not a good solution. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this? I'm going to go ahead and email HTC, but I don't have much hope for that.
Thanks,
Andrew

[Q] Quiet keyboard and screen lock clicks

Alright, I've spent all day searching and can't find a clear answer for what I'm looking for.
Just last night my keyboard and lock sounds are very quiet, now I've seen others with this issue, but I haven't seen anyone explain why this happens or how to fix it.
So does anyone know how to fix this, or have I missed it in my searching?
lolwut. Are you talking about the audio output from the keyboarD? Like when you type it makes that noise, and now that noise is quiet? I think its tied into your general phone sound level. Check your settings under menu-settings-language & keyboard-touch input
Yea, all sound levels are at max and the other sounds ( ringer, text, emails, ect...) still play at proper level. But the keyboard clicks when typing and the screen lock/unlock sound is still there, but just barely making any noise
nobody's got anything?
also last night to took my friend's evo and his is doing the same thing, he said he noticed it soon after the 3.70 update
This just happened to me. I fixed it with a hard reset of the phone. I had to reload the few apps I had and sync my google calendar and contacts. Back in business. Have no idea why it happened in the first place, but they are working now.
i have to say, i never really liked the hard reset idea so i never did it. today i let the battery run until it shut off the phone, i then pulled the battery, put it back in and then charged it full before turning the phone back on. and now my clicks have returned

extremely annoying CLEARASIL ads with loud audio

At the bottom right of most pages there is a interactive flash ad for CLEARASIL which is not visible unless you scroll down to the bottom of the page, and yet has loud and annoying audio. for me it loaded on pretty much every page I loaded for a few minutes, even playing at the same time in different tabs. Seems like its the wrong sort of ad for a site like this, its extremely intrusive and distracting.

I believe it should be removed... If that's not the case, let us know.
I just had one a second ago... when your not expecting sound then all of a sudden it starts going, next thing you know the house wakes up and wife comes downstairs and boots me off of XDA. It's in all of our best interests to stay as covert as possible. Please make the video ads go away or make them silent.

We are trying to. Can you get us a screenshot of it, so we can pass that on to the company?
Its very annoying and even more annoying when you have lots of tabs open. I've installed an ad blocker and it does the trick

Random Bell or Gong Sound

Recently, my phone will just make a bell or gong type sound. I have no data on frequency, but it just recently happened twice in 10 minutes. There are no notifications to be found anywhere and I can't even find that sound in my notifications or sounds folders. It's only a little annoying, nothing that I'm going to go crazy over. But it sure would be nice to know why it's making that sound. I've checked most of my apps that have notifications and I cannot figure it out.
I'm on the January update, but it was happening before that update.

[/COLOR]Are you on project Fi by chance? I get the sound you are describing when it changes carriers and loses cellular connection during the process. It often gets it back quickly and if you're not paying attention you will never see the quick pop up. It's happened to me numerous times but I've only caught the notification a couple times. Not sure if this happens on other networks or not.

Tank for the reply.
I'm not on Project Fi. I'm on Verizon. I've only heard the sound while at home, possibly because when I leave my house, my phone switches to vibrate mode so no sound would be made. When at home, I'm connected to my WiFi network.
I hear the notification "ding" fairly regularly, too, and by the time I look at the phone, there's no sign of the notification. I believe it is a "no internet connectivity" message, which seems to be spurious, because no other devices are having issues.
