No, haven't tried via bootloader.
I am not sure how safe is that, I mean i dont have my rom backup and i don't wanna mess and brick my phone trying something that i am not confident of.
So please tell me if Factory reset is safe vua bootloader ? I mean i won't have to install ROM and Kernal stuff again right ? Just a simple Factory reset and my phone will roar back to life after format ? Right ?
Check out this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2243318
This makes me think twice before attempting reset via bootloader.

Hey man, I appreciate you going beyond the line for helping me out by performing a factory reset yourself ! Seriously, Thank you bro.
Haha, since it does nothing, i am glad you didn't have to take pains of reconfiguring everything after reset .
The primary reason i wanted to perform reset was, lately i am getting error "System UI stopped" and really runs low on ram.
Instead of reset, try going to recovery and choose fix permissions. That should help that problem to go away
Looks like the comment that this was a reply to has been cleaned from the thread. Sorry for adding to the ot

yes, the "find my phone" service will work after a hard reset or new FW install, it just needs to be set back up again. If youre asking if your phone can be located after it was, for instance, stolen and them wiped and so forth, the answer is still yes, but it would take more resources than recovering a phone is worth.
If your phone was taken and you fear that it was wiped and had new FW flashed on it, write it off and move on to anther device. Its gone

Phone not connecting after security update

Hi All,
I have T-Mobile version of S20, which was unlocked long time ago. I recently switched to Verizon and the phone working perfectly fine. This morning I received security update for May 2021 from T-mobile and after that phone is not able to connect to network. Verizon technician tried troubleshooting, but they asked me to do a factory reset.
Does anyone know how to connect back to network with factory reset?
Thanks in advance.
Wow, it's really secure now
So the old factory reset solves everything bs solution... I tend to curse techs out if they mutter those words.
Before you go Dr Strangelove full nuke nuts:
Try clearing the system cache
Try a network reset
Try clearing the data in the sim card toolkit
Then try a hard reboot (simulates pulling battery).

Thanks for reply, but so far I have already tried clearing system cache, network reset, setting reset and hard reboot (can't do battery pull in new Samsung Lol). I am thinking of flashing t-mobile or verizon firmware using odin.

That sucks. I haven't updated my Note 10+ in over a year, deliberately. Zero issues.
The reflash sounds like a plan.
Since you're doing that anyway see what the factory reset does. Unless it's an old load I try to avoid doing that and find the root cause to prevent it from happening again.
In this case though you know the root cause...

Did the factory reset, but it didn't work. Trying to get correct firmware to flash using odin.
I flashed Verizon version of firmware downloaded from Sammobile.com using Moded Odin provided in this thread that fixed the phone. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...e-links-and-flashing-discussion-here.4054757/
Data was lost because of factory reset I did already.
Report the issue to Samsung Members app, I've seen other people who switched carriers while keeping their devices face the same sort of problem. If Samsung does come up with some sort of solution or maybe the carrier comes up with a solution, you can be kept up to date with it.

I had the same problem. Did a reset and nothing. I haven't flashed any firmware in a while. I have another phone that I can use for a while and maybe I can wait until there is a solution or another update. My s20 is also from tmobile unlocked.

Any direct link to the Verizon firmware or the name of the file that you downloaded? There are many files for different processors. I have the T-mobile S20 bought in T-mobile and was unlocked via T-mobile after I payed for it.
UGGG!! Same problem here. T-mobile seems to have had something in the update that has carrier locked the phone again. After a complete data reset the phone doest ask for a Verizon pin when I insert the sim card though.
Please help!!

Question Screen unlocking or Data recovery

Hey fellow pals, i am in a deep pathetic situation as I got one OnePlus 9 pro and it's screen locked as it's asking for password after its switched on. I am trying to find some methods to unlock or recover the whole data as it's so important because it was my father's and he got expired. I have heard an EDL exploit methode which can be performed. So can someone guide me or help me in finding some methods to do so.

since they did not know the password, they cannot access the data as it is encrypted. All you have to do is reset the password (whether in recovery or flashing the cell phone with the msm tool)
Would the All-In-One tool help in this situation?

Hey what's that? I just need the data saved in the device. Or can I perform some methods to remove the timing, i mean after the incorrect passwords it's taking time for the next attempt

You have no way of saving the data because you don't know the password and all data on the cell phone is encrypted (if you get to the data you can't do anything with it because it's encrypted, as I said) I like whether the oneplus tool works doubt this needs adb debuging (and i think adb will not be enabled in dev settings )
as an example, even if you read out the data ( user data ) partition with an edl tool, you cannot do anything with the partition because all the data in it is encrypted.

That is why we have passwords, pin numbers and patterns to keep data from prying eyes....to keep unwanted people from getting to our data if we loose the phones!

Oops. I have heard like using EDL methode i can get into the data and then automate the password injection to decrypt the data. Any comments on it? I actually don't know how to perform it. Will it be usefull?

It is not going to happen. You will have to reflash the phone, loose everything then it will be a useable phone. You are not going to get any of the data from the phone. Sorry!
