Good screen protectors? - Lenovo P2 Questions & Answers

Has anyone found any good tempered glass/film protectors for your phone?
I got one with my case but it has bubbles in edges.
Lähetetty minun Lenovo P2a42 laitteesta Tapatalkilla

i am using Screen protector ( not glass) which came within the BOX i purchased..
it also got so many bubbles when applied, i had to use my nails to swipe strongly till the bubbles disappeared
as the Glass is 2.5D curved, i dont think Tempered glasses fit correctly !!
But i feel, Tempered glasses made for OnePlus3 would Fit with some compromises.. !!
but i cant risk buying a costly Glass and try on my P2 !!

I did not get protector with my box :/ but i would really want some sort of protection.
I found this site: https://wonderfulengineering.com/10-best-lenovo-p2-screen-protectors/amp/
but first in the list costs too much to deliver and skinomi has stopped making protector for our model.
Cant find any rating or comments for those in list.
Here is one i found also with no reviews:
https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Screen-Protector-Tempered-Anti-Scratch/dp/B01N2SDBGT
I asked if i can see picture of glass with phone and they removed my question...

I read a few people complaining that glass protector doesn't fit properly because of the screens curved edges . i just use a normal plastic protector cut to fit instead

I have applied armor liquid. I can't say if it works good but it seems to be the best solution for the curved glass

That sounds interesting. I look it up.
I only need something to shield from possible cracks. Rather cheap shield than cracked screen.
I changed screen 3 times to my last phone and any kind of shield is worth it.
Changing only glass of screen is really pain compared to changing whole display and whole display is usually not cheap.

You have pretty imaginative solution. Hatsoff

Currently I'm using a skinomi protector for an LG g3. Width is perfect and have to cut bottom to just above fingerprint button. The top cutouts work on the p2. Skinomi show a listing for p2 but list as unavailable

hi, can you post some photos of your Phone ??

Not the best as only had a 735 lumia to hand.

Ultimate shield (similar to zagg) now available on Amazon UK. Lists as full coverage front and back. Ordered so will advise when it arrives in about a week

I think note 5's would work well and Samsung galaxy j7 2016 yet to try but I am going to

Ultimate Shield arrived and is a perfect fit. Comes with front, rear and side. I only used the front screen and am very pleased. Have used Ultimate before and the quality is as always excellent none of the fancy packaging of zagg or skinomi but the product is spot on

I tried 2 different 9H glass protectors from China. Cheap ones.. Both fit good but have not glued properly at the edges - so the dust came it. I think that it was because crappy quality of those products.
On P1 I used Nillkin glass which was perfect but sadly Nillkin does not make glass for P2. I got in touch with them and they said that P2 is not so popular in China market so they are not going to make it ( at this moment )
Currently I use product of polish company:
https://folie-ochronne.3mk.pl/pl/c/P2-P2a42/1271/1
Their MATTE 3H protector. Of course it is not as hard as glass but glued perfectly well and matte finish is really great for me.
When my current protector wears out I will try their 7H glass

Hi, got a cheap eBay glass screen protector. It covers viewable screen. About +0.5mm each side. Glues almost perfectly to edge all around but obviously is smaller than phones screen. Overall very good for price. Says is 9h hardness. Appears to have some level of oleophobic coating and has perfect finger detection so far. Seller was UK based. leestafordpink. Product came with some wipes. Was branded premium tempered glass screen protector, with picture of a hammer hitting a screen. Prob as good as we can hope for now and at £3.75. Can't complain, arrived in 2 days.

So I bought the j7 2016 screen protector and it fits perfectly exposing home button and sensors and led notification
Only problem is that it is 2 millimeters wider than it should edges don't wrap around so you are left with a gap gonna try more screen protectors in the future
Another thing those godamn corners they leave bubbles underneath the protector it's annoying defenetly manufacturing issue
Nothing is perfect I guess anyway anyone have a solution for those

Is this a glass screen protector? Any chance you could post a picture? I'm using a cheap Chinese glass one which is pretty good, but a full coverage glass would be better! Cheers

Not a glass protector. I never use glass. Military grade tpu self healing like zagg skinomi or ultimate are all I use. Conform to curved screens, bubble free and crystal clear wet application never had a broken screen. Fit is as said about 1mm all round on the edge difference between screen size and protector size cutouts perfect. Don't have a camera that would show the detail as once applied its essentially invisible

i have a glass one and confirm they dont fit perfect....it sticks all the way around apart from the bottom either side of the home button

There are 2 promos at Aliexpress for screen protectors:

https://pl.aliexpress.com/item/5pcs...92.html?spm=2114.13010208.99999999.267.PYHwHp
I do not know the quality but they are really cheap ( price is for 5pcs package)

Which screen protector to get?

I'm looking for a new screen protector for my 3T. Here's my requirements:
Tempered glass
Doesn't let dust get under it over time
Doesn't keep me from seeing pixels along the edges (rules out OnePlus 3/3T Curved Tempered Glass Screen Protector; see https://youtu.be/rVtWOmDrVGU?t=119)
Covers up the entire display area (rules out OnePlus 3/3T Tempered Glass Screen Protector; see my attached photo)
Works with at least one of the big protective cases like Otterbox Case for OnePlus 3/3T, Spigen Neo Hybrid OnePlus 3 Case / OnePlus 3T Case with Flexible Inner Protection and Reinforced Hard Bumper Frame for OnePlus 3 2016 - Gunmetal, or OnePlus 3T / OnePlus 3 Case, TUDIA Slim-Fit HEAVY DUTY [MERGE] EXTREME Protection / Rugged but Slim Dual Layer Case for OnePlus 3T, OnePlus 3 (Matte Black)
Are there any screen protectors that meet all of these criteria?
the unicorn..gl
Doesn't exist.. that I've seen.
Sigh... Why did OnePlus have to curve the screen? :crying:
Yeah, there's no good tempered glass protector. The only option is a plastic protector.

It comes off eventually, you get the rainbow effect and dust eventually gets underneath it as it only sticks to the edges.
I bought a couple of cheap ones off eBay that go around the home button and speaker. Don't even notice it's on most of the time. I get a little oil spill type effect but that's only when the screens off and not noticeable unless I look for it. Think the key is getting it really stuck down. When I first put it on I ended up with tobacco underneath it from my pocket but carefully took it off and reapplied it and so far it's been fine. Had it on about 2 months maybe 6 weeks and it's been great
I'm having the same issue as you. I'm not sure which tempered glass screen protector to use..
After a little search, it seems like the issue with the official curved screen protector from OnePlus has been fixed. I'm gonna bite the bullet and just go for that once, since it's "official". Will report back with images.

Where'd you see that? I'm under the impression that they said they were going to fix it, but all they ended up doing was adding a disclaimer about the problem to the description page.
Hey everyone,
I bought the curved tempered glass and it was so so so bad I removed it 1 minute after using it.
When you put your finger on the fingerprint sensor, I get the feeling that i'm putting my finger into a hole.
The feeling I get when I look at the screen, its the same as if my phone was outside a window...
It was expensive and I'm not using it. Tried to refund it and the support didnt allowed it.
The curved tempered glass does protect the whole phone into a point that it kills the whole feeling you get when
the phone is naked.
Please do not buy it!
I bought recently the normal tempered glass but I still didnt received it.
When it arrives I'll give some news.
I received these today and applied the first one perfectly. I can't tell there is anything on the screen. They do not attract smudges anymore than the phone's glass which is good.
I am more so trying to protect against micro scratches so do not necessarily need the better protection of glass.

Using the orzly v2 glass and its cool. Yes you can see the dot matrix in direct sunlight, yes you get random rainbow in in hot/humid places. But overall its usually clear and perfect. If you use a case it just blends in and although the extra height is daunting on the home button at first, after a month I can say I can't even tell anymore, not obtrusive at all.
Experience with official tempered glass protector
So just to share my experience with the official curved tempered glass protector from oneplus after using it for some weeks.
I'm using it with the Otterbox case and it does work well together overall. It did happen very rarely that an edge was pushed off by the case when the phone was in my pocket. The visibility of the edges of the screen is impaired, but not to the point that I find it disturbing in every day usage.
So my point is, overall this combination works well and provides good protection while adding reasonable bulk. I think it's a very solid choice as of now.

Yup, quite happy with that. But I'm not 100% persuaded that's actually tempered glass. I managed to get it chipped just by holding it in my pocket with some coins (I assume, as I never dropped it). Nothing major, but never happened with any other glass screen protector before. So, guess that's still going to provide some level of protection but wouldn't trust it too much for major protection.
Apart from that, that's ok for the price.

It seems to have the same problem as the official OnePlus full-coverage protector where you lose some edge pixels, according to the 3-star review on the white model.
I'm on my 2nd Orzly V2 now and it's not too bad. I have limited rainbow affect which is only visible under fluorescent lights and the touch sensitivity is generally OK. It's not great by any means but it's adequate, will protect the screen and is the best out of a poor lot.

Tempered Glass Screen Protectors

Bought a tempered glass last night (link below, along with image), and it adhered perfectly, and looks amazing.
Moto G5 Plus Screen Protector, Yootech [2-Pack] Moto G5 Plus Tempered Glass Screen Protector [ANTI-SCRATCH] [BUBBLE-FREE][ULTRA-CLEAR] for Motorola Moto G plus 5th Generation https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XMY75GX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_o8g4ybG5GRYKJ
The speaker cutout at the top is wider than needed. Doesn't cover proximity sensor and looks asymmetric.
How did you put it by yourself without any air bubbles?
No matter what brand of tempered glass you buy for the G5, on Amazon or anywhere else, they all have the same size top cutout. The proximity sensor is not going to get damaged with how thin the opening is.
As for the bubbles, if you follow the directions included with any of the tempered glass these days, you should never have bubbles, otherwise, you did it wrong. Very easy to install without any bubbles.
Not necessarily. A badly made tempered glass brand will have sub par results, even with a perfect install. I'm coming from a phone with a slightly curved edge, where it was trial and error to find a good one. Thank goodness the Moto G5 plus has a flat screen <3.
I've used some "tempered glass" screen protectors that were good, but the most recent one I got for my Oneplus One seemed like really cheap glass that chips much easier (even just from hitting other stuff in my pocket like keys).
Now I've got a Moto G5 Plus on the way and I want to find out which of these dozen different brands of "9H Hardness" screen protectors are the best quality/durable - and, if the once that claim "oleophobic anti-fingerprint coating" actually work well?
I'm guessing some of the protectors actually have a good coating and some just said "let's write that so they sell better" even if they don't.
Has anyone used the fingerprint sensor one-button nav with a tempered glass screen protector on? Does it interfere in any way or make it more difficult to register proper swipes?

I got this one: http://a.co/4TGZKPS
I've had no problem with the finger print scanner or one button navigation. I even found one button nav easier since the home button is more recessed.
It went on perfectly with no bubbles and seems to have a good oleophobic coating.

I picked up the same tempered glass off your recommendation. It looks great and was easy to install. Thanks for sharing. I looked at a few others and think the Yootech was a smart choice.
Picked up the op's protector as well. It's a little annoying that the holes don't perfectly line up, but it went on without a hitch and works well.

Use the bathroom method... Turn on hot water in shower for about 3 to 5 min to get it steamy in there. Turn off water and let the steam settle the dust out of the air. Then apply the protector.

I'm not sure if you're aware, but 9H hardness only refers to scratch hardness and doesn't mean it will be chip or crack resistance.
I have gone through 3 different brand "tempered glass" protectors from ebay and not one has fit properly or stayed on. Even those that said 2.5d... I used to have a galaxy alpha and the first 3$ TG protector I bought from ebay worked flawlessly... Is it because it's still a fairly new phone?
I just wish the protectors fit the speaker better. Everyone single one on Amazon seems to fit slightly off
You should definitely go for Orzly Tempered Glass. I've used this brand's glass on my moto G2 and the protection was perfect. It was not too thick, so I was able to use a TPU case and have the glass installed as well.

If you're talking about the cutout for it being a little wider on the left, that is for a sensor. If you hold the phone up to the light, you can see the sensor there.

What screen protector doesn't suck?

These new tempered glass protectors with the black surround adhesive are terrible. Poor touch sensitivity and a weird hollow feel/sound because they don't actually sit flat on the screen. Are there any non-adhesive tempered glass protectors that are worth looking into? Amazon reviews are spotty. for every brand and every type of protector for the G8.

Using the LK film protector I linked earlier. Goes on like the ringke film, using multiple steps and doing 1/2 at a time. Feel is good. A little stickier than a tempered glass protector, but it's solid on the screen. No air gap. I think it might be interfering with the crystal sound display a bit. Volume seems a little lower now.

I have several of the Ringke stocked up, they have a great installation process. I personally enjoy the film (dry application) protectors more than glass as they have a much slimmer profile. The downside is that they offer little impact protection and can be imprinted, but they're cheap enough that I just keep a few around and change them as needed.
This was the only full-adhesive glass protector I could find. DON'T buy it! I left pics in my Amazon review showing why: Our screen glass curves before the pixels end. The only way to have a flat piece of glass stick to the whole screen is to cut it smaller than the visible screen edges. This one hangs off the sides by 3mm, rendering the edges useless.
[2 Pack] LG G8 ThinQ Screen... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NZZ6YGY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I've just ordered the only one I could find that claims to be smaller than the screen area, but the description still makes it a bit tough to know what to expect.
https://www.amazon.com/Compatible-Protector-Coverage-Tempered-Adhesive/dp/B07QJ41M2H
Update: DON'T BUY THESE. This one is even worse, as it's way too tall. Again, the scroll bars don't work because you can't touch them. Total trash.
Unfortunately, unless they make one with genuinely curved glass that follows the screen, there won't be a useful full-adhesive protector for our phone. It looks like every glass protector is flat. They advertise rounded edges, but are still flat glass. If you don't believe me, please look at the pictures I've left in the Amazon reviews. These should never have been made.
Tempered glass is used to protect the screen from scratches and also Protect direct damage of the screen. any branded Tempered Glass is famous with their Hard surface and smooth working. I always prefer Casper Tempered Glass and Whitestone dome Glass.
Add this one to the list of screen protectors that don't work. It won't lay flat on the sides. Long air gaps up/down both sides.
Here's the item description on Amazon. I can't post links yet.

Full Body Skin
You may want to think about giving the Skinomi Full Body Skin a try. I wouldn't say that it feels as smooth as a glass protector, but it does wonders at protecting the back of the phone. It also keeps it from slipping off of surfaces and easier to hold! Very nice for those times when you don't want to wear a case. The back protector doesn't interfere with any cases, and the front protector covers the entire screen of the device. Skinomi's warranty is pretty legit too.
I've used it on my Nexus 4, v30 and now the G8.
I'm using an AILUN screen protector with a SPIGEN TOUGH ARMOUR case and they fit and work perfectly together. Got them both off EBay.
I was wondering if screen protectors might dull the sound, since the screen itself is a speaker.
I just placed the wet install IQ Shield on my new G8. I haven't even turned it on yet as I'm in a contract on a stupid Note 9,but I like them on my last 4 devices.

Screen Protectors - UK

So what's everyone planning on getting or using?
I'm not a fan of tempered glass, so I still tend to rock the film ones.
Have been using the Ringke Dual Easy Film on my S10e, and they're perfect, however they're not yet available for the Pixel 5 (They are coming though!)
Grabbed myself some of the Atfolix ones https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08KLV9P1W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1, again, used these in the past on the Pixel 2 (I think it was) similar to the Ringke, just a different type of installation method.

Ringke dual easy film are out on Amazon, however, it's the wings version, which wraps around the side of the phone. :/
I've just ordered a 'Brotect' screen protector having previously had a positive experience on Nokia 8, will report back.
Man i can't seem to find any good screen protectors on amazon, all those already there are either not available before November (though it already has comments...) Or doesn't fit... Didn't check on other websites though (Fr here).
I too ordered a brotect airglass screen protector, 3 pack for £8.19.
Previously I had purchased one off amazon that I returned as the punch hole cutout would not align - most of the ones on amazon have the same issue of alignment based on the odd reviews coming in. I hope brotect will be good as it's made in Germany.

if I didnt get this i'd wait for the spigen Glas-T, they fit like a glove and work well on their own or with their cases (liquid air is on order as a backup)

if I didnt get this i'd wait for the spigen Glas-T, they fit like a glove and work well on their own or with their cases (liquid air is on order as a backup)

Looks a little bulky
How is the screen protector?
Laughing at the speaker holes when it's under the screen
a naked Pixel is just too dainty for my hands, protector is nice and responsive.
I can recommend the Brotect air glass screen protector. Precise width (which has led to me having half a mm uncovered on the right as it's the same amount over on the left...) but very easy application and looks great. Fits fine with a Spigen case.

Are you talking about this one?

Does it come with a cutout for the camera as shown in the picture on amazon?

I ordered mine from here but it looks like the same one. Yes it has that style of cutout.
Avoid the AtFolix range. I've used them before and theyre usually fine, these are another level of poor!

Ordered a pack of the Media Devil Protectors - Hopefully these will be better!
I have applied the brotect screen protector. If you apply it properly (my second attempt) then you can cover the entire screen. First time using it but on appearance it does not seem like glass at all, looks more plastic so cannot comment on the durability. But it is very thin and looks great.
Only the top left camera portion is unprotected as there is no punch hole but rather a corner cut out in the protector
I have the LK tempered glass. It is not bad at all. A bit small for my liking. It covers all of the screen though. Has a cut out and sticks well. Tempered glass is going to
be interesting for this phone as I think they will all look very narrow and short. While the screen is flat the gloss border curves away and you have to choose where protection ends. My personal preference might be for film this time but will see. This is fine for now. I had a Zagg protector ordered from them but it got cancelled. Frustrating.
Puzzling why the Supcase has 2 extra holes on the top of the protector in the middle... very weird.

Question Screen protector question

Are there any issues with having a screen protector on this curved screen? Are they harder to put on? Do they tend to come off? I'm trying to decide between getting the Pro or the regular version. I know in the past there were issues with curved screens. In addition to what's mentioned above, the screen protectors for curved screens didn't provide complete coverage. TIA
If your happy with none tempered glass then curved isn't a problem. I've still got the one that came with my devices and have no issues with keeping it on for as long as possible
There some nice uv light glue +tempered glass on aliexp, i'm waiting for mine, i had curved displays before and it's the best you can get, the glue is really there to be on all the surface nad even on the curves, i'm tempted to install some s20+ protector on my 9pro because it's the same size nad curves, till the ones i'm waiting for arrives
It's ok, but my devices prefer naked...

I've ordered a couple too.
I bought the Spigen NeoFlex from Amazon, they are a TPU protector and they are useless, too flexible to apply easily and also the edges do not stay stuck down to the curve so would pick up dirt and come off easily. I sent back for a refund as not fit for purpose in my view.
I bought the Zagg InvisibleShield GlassFusion+ for my Pro and the normal tempered glass by Zagg for my 9. Both with the eye comfort, micropel bs. The GlassFusion+ is the old school "rubbery" type screen protectors. It definitely feels like glass, but isn't glass. It goes somewhat to the edges of the glass. Maybe stops ⅛" from the actual end of the curve. Bubbles like crazy by the curves. Keep having to smooth them out but they keep showing up. Not sure if it's cause of the screen protector or not. Went to register them with Zagg and had to talk to customer care and it escalated to a supervisor because apparently they're not even in their system yet. Go figure lol

Are you saying that the phone comes with a tempered glass screen protector and there are no issues with it?
It sounds like for the curved screen the tempered glass is better and for the flat screen you can use TPU. Is that the consensus?

i still cant recommand it yet because didn't receive it, but what i do recommand is a screen protector that come with the glue and uv light, because the glue will be at all the surface, hardens fast, no bubles, and it does not come loose easily

I've not recieved my glass ones, and I'd certainly go with a LOCA/UV glue version as those that are out on Amazon look to not be full glue coverage, some even just have the top, sides and finger print scanner and they look awful.
I can safely say though that I feel a TPU one would be false economy as not only do they offer very little in the way of drop protection, the one I tried didn't fit well at all.
On my 8 pro , I've used a few UV type glued protectors with no issues at all with Whitestone Dome being my favorite for a genuine feel and solid protection. I emailed them and they said later this month for the 9 pro. If you go this route justake sure to put the sticker over your ear piece when applying the glue.

Whitestone Dome was the best I had on previous phones. Thanks for the info on time frame. My factory-installed film protector just started to lift on one edge yesterday so I'm ready to buy a replacement, but I'll probably wait and get one of those.
