Hey there,
I've just bought a new smart watch gear s2 (samsung) and the gear app installs but wont connect to the watch.
Any ideas? It does work on my wifes samsung s6 phone.
I'm running Lee Droid latest rom

I used Gear s2 watch with HTC 10 properly. You have to make sure the Gear s2 watch is reset and is on the screen where it gives you instructions on how to install the app. After installing the app, it will also download 2 more apps(Gear plugin and Samsung accessories - don't remember exact names). Through the main app (Gear Manager) connect to the watch. I have tried my watch with different phones and every time I wanted to connect to another phone I had to do reset in settings.
Nothing has worked. I have installed the viper rom with full factory reset and get these errors. I have also installed the fixed app from the viper hub

Samsung gear 2 isn't compatible with stock HTC 10. I ment to buy it, but I had a chance to check it out, and it can't be connected with stock HTC 10 software. You will have to unlock your bootloader and flash a custom ROM if you want it to work

I am unlocked and s-off and have tried both Venom Rom(with fixed gear app) and leedroid, both are unable to connect the gear s2

It is not possible that Gear S2 is not compatible with HTC 10. The minimum requirement is Android 4.4 and at lease 1.5GB of RAM. I have had multiple Android phones at the time when I had gear s2 watch in my possession and all of them connected and worked perfectly. If you followed instructions and were pairing through the Gear Manager app then it has to work. Side note: I tested when my phone still had Android 6, maybe that Android 7 is some how isn't working well with the watch.

yepp, they are resigned by me to match the modified gear manager.

Is the s health app effected by this? Do u have a fixed version as it won't sync to my gear. I've tried everything and the fitness features are useless without it syncing. Thanks!

Hi, there is Samsung AllShare Control app with just removed device check. App is originaly only for Galaxy SIII and Galaxy Note II. Now it should run on all devices with resolution 480*800, 720*1280 and 800*1280. Using this app on Samsung stock roms could be problem because AllShare services are present.

AllShare framework 2.0.0 is out so they removed old version. Download link is updated.
Thanks, now is working, but there is no keyboard for tv? only mouse?
It depends on TV application. Web browser opens keyboard on phone but youtube has own keyboard displayed on TV.

Hi, I really don't know. I have this message when I switch off already connected TV. It looks that application found TV and name of your TV should be "Smart TV". Do you apply any firewall rules on you wifi?

Hi. I have 3 smart tvs at home. On Es serie one year 2012 and F serie one year 2013 app is working fine. The problem is on the new recent one, just bought a H serie, 2014 model. App cant connect to TV. It views it but as soon as I connect to it I got the same message posted above "TV si disconnect, back to home". Samsung has changed something in new TV model for sure, that doesn't allow phone to connect......
Has someone tryed with H serie Tvs? Any solution?

This is strange!! SideSync 3.0 is working perfectly on my Tab S 10.5 when I connect my Galaxy Note 3, but not so with my Galaxy S5, where only the home button and the back option respond... Nothing else... What am I doing wrong?

absolutely the same situation here: s5 port on n3, bought tab s today, screen in side sync is sideways!
must not be s5 port - can also be some xposed framework or some of it's modules. i will check!
I too am wondering about Xposed. I haven't tried uninstalling it yet, because it isn't worth it anyway to trade all those tweaks for this feature (this is regarding the OP issue with s5, but maybe there's a connection with both these issues)
I noticed a new thing today-- I was testing how video quality over this connection looked. I got a game on MLB At Bat up and running (I can start it via phone and then take control back at the tablet), and although I didn't get control of the touchscreen through the tablet, it did respond to me tapping the screen by showing the title bar and the stop/play button in the middle of the screen. That's the first time I've seen the touchscreen area respond to any input from me... but still, I could not press any button on this popup menu and nothing else ever responds.
If it's Xposed, then maybe a patch would be possible through a module.

I resolved it by updating the firmware. Discovered if you're using the May 23rd build on Tmobile, that update broke Sidesync in this exact way. Updated the phone again, now it's on the June 17 build, and Sidesync is working 100%.
This is not an exposed issue. I just tried it on my stock note 3 and it appears sideways as well

For S5 / S6 Port Roms:
Fix for SideSync issue : If the screen in SideSync app on Laptop / PC is seen sideways rotated, to solve this, please delete following lines from build.prop. They are under #Misc.
Reboot.
This solved problem for me !

it really worked.Thanks i deleted the two lines now the screen rotation is fixed
Edit: Samsung galaxy note 3 smn-9005 phronesis v3 note 5 port
it also fixed another problem.the screen now turns off instead of staying on.(only in presentation mode screen should turn on)

This was unsuccessful for me. What version sidesync are you running? I have v4 and am running note 3 with ported note 5 from phronesis.

yes now i flashed phronesis v5 and deleting the 2 lines is not helping and i am stuck with rotation problem. i dint test it in v4(i felt v4 was buggy and slowed down after few hours usage so i flashed v3 again so didnt test sidesync).but i am sure it works in v3

Thanks for testing. I tried on v3 and it did not work either. But I did not try the work around of deleting the 2 lines on V3

I am running Phronesis 6.2 on a Note 3 and the issue persists.
Deleting those two lines did not work.

From the screenshot, i can say, it should have two launcher , once is basic android launcher, and the other is the Minix launcher.

Not quite just the wifi. Also hardware HEVC encoding, a speedier processor, gigabit ethernet...
I would love to take one of these devices for a test-drive! It looks really good, particularly with the added H.265 decoding and wireless AC

Been using it for a week, it runs like a standard Android box. I installed Nova Launcher on it and it worked fine.

just few days ago got this device....
No Live Streaming TV app is running on it...tried multiple one (tv tunnel) screen become flicker and doted picture will be on screen.

However, my Pi is currently set with Deluge and Flexget so it autodownloads to the respective folders. Could any of you check if installing them is possible on the X-8 Plus? We have some instructions here on how to do it, and when I buy it I will make an attempt anyways, but knowing it in advance would be useful.

You can root the MINIX Neo X8H-Plus using the iRoot application (or it's Chinese language parent, vRoot)

1. Turn on Developer mode by clicking on the BUILD entry in the ABOUT section in SETTINGS (click it at least 7 times)
2. Enable USB debugging
3. Install iRoot/vRoot on your PC
4. Connect the Neo X8H-Plus using the OTG cable (microUSB to USB cable included in box) to PC.
(Neo X8H-Plus needs to be connected to a display when doing this; also, a mouse would also be helpful)
5. After PC detects Neo X8H-Plus, run the iRoot/vRoot application and click on the CONNECT DEVICE button.
6. When iRoot/vRoot attempts to connect to your Neo X8H-Plus, a security warning will appear on the display. PERMIT access to the application in order for the iRoot/vRoot application to successfully connect to the Neo X8H-Plus
7. Once iRoot/vRoot is connected to your device, click the ROOT button
8. Wait until process is complete

After much tinkering, I was successful in my endeavours. I mostly followed this guide and am now the satisfied owner of a SSH'd with SFTP, Transmission'd and Samba'd X-8Plus.

I can attest to it, it was the method I used to root mine. It does install a couple of chinese apps while doing so, but nothing you can't remove after having it rooted.

Have you tried Android Auto? There's a thread here somewhere that has a ported version for our tablets. I run it on my nexus that's installed like a head unit in my dash. Android auto is pretty useful.

It should work with any rom that's based on the factory image so it will work with cleanrom.

I'm running Timurs kernel so I'm stuck on Lollipop for the time being. That being said, if you upload the framework and systemui apks from your tablet I can give it a shot, no guarantees though since I won't be able to test it.

Just installed this on my nexus 7 car install, with timur kernel. Got to say top job and works brilliantly. Its made my Bluetooth volume control redundant and has given me an even cleaner install

Sorry just saw this. Even if I made the icons bigger, it won't increase the actual touch zone. You'll need to use a ROM that has navbar height modification, or install an xposed module such as Gravity Box.

Not sure if you know or not but Timur is now making a MM version of his kernel which he states will be released 4/4/16. Your mod will be needed greatly especially if you plan on upgrading also.

Yup I recently saw that. Not sure if I'll upgrade yet, it would depend on the final price once it's released. If I do I'll update the mod and post it here. If I don't, I'll probably still update it at some point.
ive pushased timurs kernel for 22€ and realy hope u release a version for 6.0.1 soon! would love to the this Feature in the stock marshmellow rom...

I've upgraded to Marshmallow with Timur's kernel and it would be awesome if it could be modded in the same way. You had said in an older thread you would try if someone uploaded the SystemUI.apk from 6.0.1 but you would be unable to test it so I'm willing to if you can modify it. Thank you so much!!

It is my first day back at work with my new S9. I have always found SideSync a handy tool, plug your phone in via USB and it will charge whilst displaying your mobile's display on your PC. I noticed that I couldn't connect via USB as I normally do and WiFi would connect via a hotspot but not our main network.
I have just finished a live chat with Samsung Support and after some testing, I was told:
"Thank you so much for patiently waiting. Upon checking, we do apologise but at Sidesync is not compatible with S9 at the moment. Samsung are working on it as soon as possible for more improvements."
Before contacting samsung, I tried:
-Re-installing SideSync on PC
-Re-Installing Samsung Mobile USB drivers
-Restarting PC
Samsung adviser asked me to try:
From the dialler on your device, enter *#0808#.
Under 'USB', select AP.
Under 'USB Settings', select MTP +ADB.
Soft reboot device

hey I am a special needs guy who uses sidesiync to navigate my phone and I just found out that you are not going to make it work on galaxy s9 and I really enjoyed it because it is the only way that can use my phone

Doesn't look like it.
Samsung Flow requires Google Play Services whereas Sidesync does not, correct? That's a blow.

I have both Flow and SideSync installed in my PC (with Windows 10).
Flow is better than SideSync in almost all the things, but it's not able to mirror the screen yet.
for now i use teamviewer.... waiting for samsung flow ... btw. you can install samsing flow via samsung store. but there is no mirroring option

But I can not use flow with my tab a 10.1 with spen... I can install flow on my s9 and on my PC.
So how do I sync files between phone and tablet?

I recommend Vysor Pro, if you have the cash and need the accessibility now. You need Google Chrome for the install I think, on your Desktop.
I use it, works for what I need to. Lets me control it via mouse & keyboard. Lets you change stream quality rate. Latency is next to nothing on the S9.
Supports Wifi and USB remote-in options.

Your other option is to get a DexPad or wait until Samsung Flow supports mirroring.
So... Just upgraded to a new phone. Now Samsung wants to force me to upgrade OS... Work PC, work laptop, home PC. Because Samsung Flow requires Windows 10. Way to go, Samsung. Alienate 43.4% of the PC user base. Or just take a step backwards and lose functionality that I already had with my old phone and current os's. Looks like I'll be trying a different solution this week.

I gave flow a go but it just isn't as good as Sidesync, I would love them to bring it back.

Hey guys, i downloaded v 7.6.0-507 as an apk and installed it on my Galaxy S9. It worked, except that screen mirroring shows phone screen in landscape mode...
