I am a happy owner of Mi 5S Plus, this is by far the best phone I have ever used.
The screen is better on Mi 5S Plus but the camera may be slightly better on Mi Note 2 (at least in daylight). If I had the opportunity to get one of them for free (not considering that Note 2 is more expensive) I would take Mi Note 2 for the edge to edge screen.

Note 3 Neo or Note 3

Hi
I am an old Note 2 user, but currently on the Blackberry Q10. I am starting to miss a bigger screen and IR blaster so I am now looking at the note 3 and note 3 Neo.
The prices in my country are quite similar for both, only about a 15 usd difference, so that is not an issue:
Is the Neo better when it comes to batterylife? I like the fact that it has what seems to be more of a hybrid cpu with 4 slow cores and 2 fast ones.
Also, does the neo run less hot?
I do not game much, so gaming preformance is not that important to me. However I do multitask a lot, using remote desktop on my phone while wrting messages og wathing a youtube video.
How big SD card does the Neo support? I am often traveling and like to have some series or movies handy.
For 15 USD diff. Go for note 3. The 3gb ram will future proof your device.

$15 difference? That's a no-brainer. Go get the Note 3 :good:
If you are tight on budget, wait a little longer and grab Neo 3. It will definitely go cheaper as in rest of the parts of the world, it's falling every day.
Go for note 3
In India note 3 neo is only 470 USD whereas Note 3 is more than 700 USD. So prices will fall for sure in your country too.
The screen and camera are the deal breaker for note 3 neo. It will be not much of an improvement from note 2.

I think its a TAD better on the big brother. Else the sensor seems to be the same. Just the MPs are lower. I compared the image quality of S4, N3 Neo and N3... They were ALMOST same, except for the size of the image (for cropping etc). Even Neo 3 has a wide angle sensor.. captures more view than S4 and N3.
@Phantom3D
As price isn't a factor you can blindly pick up the Note 3 and Neo variant supports max of 64 GB SD card whereas Note 3 supports maximum of 128GB. Neo doesn't run hot but I've heard Note 3 exynos variant with Octa core processor does run a little hot .
At my region there's a huge price difference and hence I picked this one .

Thanks for the help guys, I will buy the Note 3 instead of the Neo.

Should i buy the Mix 2 ?

Hi all
So, i'm currently using a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, & was just wondering, is it worth switching from the Note 8 to a Mi Mix 2 ?
Kindly let me know what you think Details if possible!
Thank you
I'm not sure why you would want to change from a note 8 to the Mi Mix 2. The Mi Mix 2 is a great device. But the note 8 seems to be even greater. I'm not sure if the Mi Mix 2 offers anything over the note 8 (except for price).
-processor specs are similar, but the note 8 has waterproofing, pen, better support, arguably a better standard android build (MIUI has bigger flaws than Touchwiz (or whatever it's called these days), a better screen and an infinitely better camera.
The only benefit for the Mi Mix 2 would be that it's easier to put custom roms on it? But they are still a bit buggy at the moment.
I did the move because I had an amazing deal. Mix 2 almost costed me like 150 usd.
I just like it for the ergonomics and how the phone feels PLUS to be honest got bored of the silver color and waiting for the blue 256 variant.
But note 8 as a device is better in every aspect. Battery screen options and support ... If u didn't get a good deal then don't switch

Questions about Mi Mix2

Hi Guys,
I own a redmi note 3 pro. It's an awesome mid range device but now I want to switch to a flagship device .
I am from India and I have two options Mi Mix2 or One plus 5T (64 GB variant)
I have read a lot of criticism of Mi mix2 camera as it lacks dual camera an not good (Portrait mode is missing) but I want to own a 128 GB device in this budget. (One plus 128gb variant) costs 5K INR more.
I like design of Mi mix as well.
Please help me decide between these two

I upgraded from the Note 3 Pro to the Mix2 and I don't regret it. If the camera is important to you just install the GoogleCam from the Pixel and you should be satisfied. I understand it improves the camera dramatically.

Camera isn't anything special and at the price point it's sold at you can't expect a great camera.
If it wasn't for the large display I'd go with the one plus

If you want an ugly notch intruding on your screen then get the Oneplus 6. The Mix2s is certainly an option but it'll be initially more expensive than the Mix2.

The 5T is a good phone but basically discontinued and without a custom rom it will never be updated again.

Redmi Note 6?

Hi
I had bought the Redmi Note 5 global version, but lost it since I was mugged. Now I wanted to order a new one since I really liked the one that got stolen from me. But I got thinking, since Xiaomi loves to release new devices very often, is there a Redmi Note 6 coming soon? I'd sure hate to buy the Note 5 only for the Note 6 to come after it with better specs and design.
Thanks!
Edit: Doesn't have to be a new phone from the Note series, any Xiaomi phone that will have a SD SoC, and preferably the same size battery of 4000 mAh. I don't really care much about camera.
Redmi 6 Pro is available. Notched with 5.84" display and 4000maH battery. SD 625 as usual. Check it out.

This one slipped from me! It looks great tbh, apart from the chin and the notch. I've never had a phone with SD 625, is it noticeably slower than 636 on the note 5?

No difference at all during general usage like playing light games, watching videos and such.
The game loading time will be a little more than rn5 pro.

yap , sd625 slower in big difference than sd636 , but sd625 more battery friendly. suggest you keep on redmi note 5 pro or wait for mi max 3 .
There is a difference.
It is Redmi 6, that is replacing the old Redmi 5 series aka Redmi 5, Redmi 5a etc.
The current 6 is NOT note 6, but plain Redmi 6 pro.
Note 6 pro is expected end of the year with 7xx SoC

In day to day activities, the difference is very very less. May be in gaming, it might be a little significant. My brother has a Note 4 and it flies along well with MIUI 9.
Redmi Note 5 is still a better option than Redmi 6 Pro imo. SD 636 is way better than SD 625.
Thanks guys
I guess if I'm going to wait, I'd better wait for the new Mi Max 3 which is coming with a huge battery and a better SoC.

Note 8 Pro or 9S

I have a new Note 8 Pro 6Gb Ram & 64GB, unopened.
However I have seen that I can now get the Redmi note 9S 4GB RAM (on promo) for the same price. The question should I order the 9S and return this one.
What is important for me is battery life, display quality and custom rom support. Overall Performance should be 'smooth' but I'm no gamer, just play the odd game.
Oh the size is important, I don't want anything too big. Just holding the Note 8 Pro, I am already thinking its already maybe abit too big. The 9S adds a couple more mm.
I guess future custom rom support for the 9S should be very good, it looks like it will be a big seller and having a Snapdragon CPU probably means more choice of custom roms ?
Any thoughts ?

Redmi note 9 pro aka note9s is way too big. And the finishing is not as good as note 8 pro. The thick black plastic around the sreen is thicker than redmi note 8. You can see from the side.
You should keep note 8 pro.

Redmi Note 9 Pro is not the same as Note 9s. For example, Note 9 Pro has NFC. 9s does not.
