[ROM][7.1.x|SM-P901| Unofficial LineageOS 14.1 (v1a3g) - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Android Development

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1.x (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
It is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Just added a link for weekly builds which happen every Friday at 8 pm CST.

thank you for this wonderful move
i am using sm-p902 , Turkish special version based on sm-p901
So i could install it by ;
download zip and extract
go to
lineage-14.1-20170325-UNOFFICIAL-v1a3g\META-INF\com\google\android
path and open
updater-script
with notepad++ and delete this line completely ( 2. line )
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "v1a3g" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "v1a3g" || getprop("ro.product.device") == "v1a3gxx" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "v1a3gxx" || abort("E3004: This package is for device: v1a3g,v1a3gxx; this device is " + getprop("ro.product.device") + ".");
and save.
And create zip file again .
I could successfully installed lineage 14.1-20170325 android 7.1.1
however i can not use phone call functionality . i can not call from my mobile phone to tablet. Or tablet to mobile phone.
i can use mobile network and sending sms.
sometimes it does not recognize sim card , i need to restart tablet
or sometimes if i try to call a number, tablet restart itself
Anyway , thank you for this great work

Thanks for the feedback.
Download syslog from the play store, install it, give it root access then reboot.
Try using phone. Then run syslog and post here.
Am not saying it can be fixed but I would like to know the errors.

Thank you! The new version released (25/03/2017)!
I see a bug! When device restarted show setting force close, but continue fine!

It's being worked on...have patience young padawan (may the force be with you)

Any fix for phone calls for sm-901?
First of all thanks for the effort to bring nougat to this wonderful tablet.
I followed the steps to install the ROM and it is working with the exception of the phone function, the tablet can make and receive phone calls and SMS, but for the phone calls there is no sound as if the mic and speakers get muted,I know it is known issue but I am wandering if anyone has a fix for it.
The other thing I noticed also is the wifi connection drop that is sparodic, sometimes with high frequency especially when the tablet is on for a long time.
Thanks again.

You do know there are weekly updates, yes?
I just tried a version I made yesterday and audio works for phone calls.
Maybe install the latest version - see Post #1 for details on how to get weekly updates.

thanks for your good work :good:
these are some issues that I'm experiencing:
1. The GPS is not working
2. In Language & input setting, I can not enable "Show icon when using stylus" option
3. After I installed the ROM, I made a phone call.
When I spoke in front of the tablet, I heard little bit of sound.
But when I spoke directly on the mic (a hole beside the infrared blaster), I heard the sound clearly.
After I played with loud speaker and mute mic toggle (still in the same phone call), until now I can not recreate the scenario above (the mic does not work at all, no sound can be heard)
I hope this could help with the development.
I'm sorry for my bad explanation.

I installed the 8th of April build and the phone is working now , many thanks
Now I can see there is newer build but I can't decide whether or not to install it as I cannot find a link to the change log in the first page of this thread, any advice on whether or not to install the weekly builds is appreciated.

I would suggest installing weekly builds. If you are concerned about bugs being introduced in weekly builds, do a ROM backup from TWRP first. If you do not like the weekly build, you can do a restore.

PREAMBLE
Here is my CM11 port for the Lenovo A3000-H, 100% unofficial. Contributions are welcome!
To be able to even flash it, you'll need to use my CWM Recovery.
NOTE: I have built and tested this on my Lenovo A3000-H (16 GB version with 3G). Before flashing, please make sure to be on Stock 4.2. Open up a terminal or an ADB shell and type the following:
Code:
getprop ro.product.board
.
Should you get a3000_prc_3gfull, you are good to go. Otherwise, you need to flash the right Stock ROM. The members @kupyxa4444 and @luckasfb have created such a Stock-based ROM, so if you are unable to find one - try to contact one of these two.

Should you ever face any issues (in the recovery or the ROM), provide logs (use Google to find out how to gather those). Additionally, I need to know what ROM you're on, hence you have to mention the build number.

Yes, the CM11 kernel is based off my HodorKernel. Apparently the kernel isn't the problem here - you could flash it on any fused Stock ROM and everything would work.
To those who wanted ETAs: At the moment, I'm a bit busy with exams and other devices. Bugfixing is progressing rather slowly, not only due to time constraints but also because I'm working on this alone and it's not easy to work on mtk devices.
keep up the good work.
you can make it buddy.

It's usually a good idea to download the newest build version. Just install it via recovery. I tested it on CWM and TWRP but it should also work on other recoveries. You will also need gapps if you want to use Google services. I recommend stock OpenGApps - use the arm64 versions.

Hi i could not flash cm with twrp and also not with cwm recovery does anybody get flashed cm successfully?
Edit:
I solved it! everytime i tryed to flash the zip i got the message :this package is for p8000 this is a k05ts_a
FIX:
1.Open the zip using WinRAR or 7ZIP. and decompress the package
2.Open the package and navigate to \META-INF\com\google\android
3.Open updater-script file in a text editor.
4.Change the two "P8000" entries with "k05ts_a"
before:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "P8000" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "bacon" || abort("This package is for "P8000" devices; this is a "" + getprop("ro.product.device") + "".")
after:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "k05ts_a" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "bacon" || abort("This package is for "k05ts_a" devices; this is a "" + getprop("ro.product.device") + "".")
5.Compress the folder back to zip.
6.Flash and enjoy
I am absolutely looking forward to this ROM. Thanks so much!
Will the ROM support device encryption?

Now that's becoming super weird! My early builds were for k05ts_a but rejected to be installed because they wanted p8000 as assertion. Looks like a different batch problem again, oh noes!

Well for now I want to bring up all peripherals (current challenge is to fire up the camera) before adding features over stock. Of course Mediatek did a custom flashlight implementation which leads to a SystemUI crash when booting with camera enabled because the flashlight toggle can't find the flashlight pointer. Disabling the back camera works but then we obviously only can use the front cam which is not an option. Looks like I gotta hack kernel drivers...

i think its more of what rom they are coming from.
maybe a pre-req to be on latest stock before trying this rom?
surely that check is only there to prevent people flashing a rom not meant for their phone/model onto it? it can be removed and re-zipped for flashing without the check.
hats off for the great work @BlueFlame4.
hope elephone see this and actually help you out with the difficulties and provide you with free devices in the future LOL

really appreciate all the work you have done and many thanks for your effort and resources to have CM12 in this phone
Will use it as soon as mobile data works. Thanks for ur great work
Tank you!
I've read that for the Elephone Trunk is ou the CM13. Maybe is possible to implement that in the future.

Well, the Trunk uses a Qualcomm chipset which is relatively easy to handle even though it's still hard work to set up the device tree. Speaking of that my device tree is on Github so feel free to experiment with CM 13. I will do one thing after the other and get CM 12.1 running first before starting something new.
BTW thank you guys again for the donations! <3

Turns out this might be more work than expected but I'm making progress. The MUX daemon that coordinates the modems already fires up and initializes everything but somehow I still can't speak to it yet (i.e. Baseband is still unknown). Looks like a permission problem.
Fixed so far:
* Bluetooth
* Camera
* Long booting time is fixed
* Proximity Sensor
Unfortunately I had to make a change in the CM tree in order to get camera working so there's maybe a better way to do this. I'll look into this later though as it works for now. Gonna hit the sauna now with some friends and afterwards I don't have time until sunday so don't expect a release this week. Once RIL works, I'll push the build

LineageOS 15.1 is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1. (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
*
*/
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.
Requirements
* You must read this post completely
* You must have flashed a stock MM update to update the firmware to a version that is compatible with these builds. Search XDA for the best way to do so for your device (if you already did that prior to installing any Nougat ROM, you are fine!).
* You must use the search first and make sure your question has not been answered yet!
* Do NOT ask for the availability of features or if any specific app works - we implement / announce new features when we want to
* Use the latest TWRP available, otherwise expect issues
* If you have a problem, do not ask if someone else has it. Post with logs or don't post at all!
Code:
[COLOR=RED][B]Important note:[/B][/COLOR]
Stock Firmware B360 and B370 are known to cause bootloops!
(Generally: if your stock ROM supports VoLTE it is likely that it is also affected!)
All others might work, please do not ask in here how to up- or downgrade!
Known Issues / NOT working / "Bugs"
* Search the thread!
* Anything running VoLTE firmware
* You tell me! (See "Other Issues")
Everything else WORKS, do NOT ask if anything (feature, function, ...) specific is working or not (Search the thread if you want to make sure and if you don't find it: test it yourself)
Other Issues?
Before posting on this thread, make sure of a few things:
You've utilized the search function of the forums. Nothing irritates us more than lazy people who do not search for an answer before asking or ask the same question over and over again.
If you are the only one having a problem: boot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, reflash the rom/gapps and nothing else. Boot up and see if the problem persists.
LOGS LOGS LOGS!!!!
Press BOTH volume keys + power key - it will vibrate very short. Wait until a notification appears that the bugreport is ready, send it to your mail and post it.
Alternatively go to dev options (press "build number" in "About phone" 7 times to activate it), activate the switch "Shortcut for bugreport", then go to Settings->Keys->Power key and activate it there as well. Long press power-key and then use the new menu item.
Only if rooted:
Use this: SysLog by Tortel
If you have a hard reboot (to the vendor boot logo, not the LineageOS boot logo), use adb or any other file explorer tool to pull a copy of "console-ramoops" after the reboot and provide that.
Code:
adb pull /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops
Note: We will not support any kind of modification on the ROM not done by our sources. If you are running XPosed, Kernel Booster or whatever occurs to you, we won't support you in any way. The problem will in every case be treated as the additional softwares' fault (because often it is!)
Changelog
* Gerrit (All)
* Device tree
* Kernel
Download Links
ROM: https://download.lineageos.org/kiwi
Again: if you need Google-Apps, install them after flashing the ROM and BEFORE the first reboot!
Google apps addon:
(Note: Not required to run the ROM)
We are using Open GApps (Link) Arm64 version, others might also be working (make sure to use ARM 64bit when using other providers!)
Note: In case you want to use any gapps, YOU MUST install the right gapps the first time that you flash a marshmallow ROM. Do not boot with an older gapps or without one and then try to install it later.
Note: If you install a package which replaces the default dialer (mostly "Stock Gapps") you have to go to Settings->Apps->Gear-Icon and set the new dialer as a default telephony app to prevent force closing of apps
Root addon:
Official download site - our device is ARM64
Don't use SuperSU or other tools, otherwise expect bootloops!

FAQ
Q: Why the **** did it take so long?
A: Besides the fact that I don't really need to answer about my working speed:
I have actively been working on bringing up 8.x for this device since February. Some might have seen some development going on with the kernel on 14.1, but effectively this was all in preparation for 15.1: The kernel being used in this version of the ROM is completely redone:
We threw away what we had and started fresh with a plain qcom kernel. Then we re-added what we needed, effectively ending in around 700k lines less of custom additions by the OEM.
Q: Why didn't you share it before, so others could work on it as well?
A: Because last time we did that, someone else came along, compiled our work and shared it himself. (Not to start about all the other copy&paste-ROMs who could have done the work as well but usually just wait for us to do it)
Q: Anything else to add?
A: Yes: read the first post before replying or testing the ROM!

Do I need to update TWRP from 3.2.0.0 to 3.3.1.0?

Yes you can update now Twrp to 3.3.1.
Btw I didn't tested GAppps. So if it's not working just remove it.
This is happening a lot when I go into Setting: "android setup keeps stopping"

Ok, just remove GApps and see how it's working ... later you can install nano or pico, not full version of GApps !
EDIT :
Full version of GApps it's not recommended at all as there is just a Betta LOS 17.0 !
Awesome!, thanks for providing full source.
I'm getting the same error "com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel" keeps crashing until I manually close the app on clean install, I have a tablet with no sim. Other than that the tablet seems to be working fine.
After installing opengapps android setup crashes repeatedly, but after disabling android setup, play store works as normal.

Thanks, I didn't know if the 'android setup' was important or not. Have disabled it and all quiet now.
I tried a few version of GAPPS10, Pico, Nano etc. and still got the errors. Once 'android setup' disabled now issues.
Thanks
Installed without GApps. Seems fine so far. Will test more once it completes charging. Thanks for all your hard work man. you have really enhanced the overall experience with this tablet.

Thank you for feedback!
Hi I try to test this rom, very nice!! But it still has many bugs, but I'm sure it will improve over time! Report that it is present some bugs, when start cpuz app the device restarts suddenly, Chrome some times stop to work , the microphone does not work in any app (eg. google assistant "hey google") work with earphones. When you record a fingerprint and then reboot the device you lose the fingerprint setting.
Thank you so much for the chance to try an updated version of andorid on this tablet!!
I hope to be helpful, a great job has been done.
I will try this rom for a short time but will return to the stock version, it won't be easy to go in stock, because there is no custom rom based on the original firmware.
I will find a way to return to the stock.
Bye bye.

Bye bye.

Thanks for feedback ! Btw, I already noticed fingerprint issues .... but as you already said the ROM will be improved with each update !
At this time even Lineage OS didn't released the stable source yet .
@surdu petru Do you have the possibility to make a custom rom based on the latest stock rom to flash via twrp? It would be a great thing.
Thank you for your work!

Sorry, no way ... I tried a few time to revert to stock but my device can't boot on stock recovery from some unknown reasons .
But there is a few users wich already reverted this device to stock after installed Lineage OS 16.0 ( Android Pie ), so you could search on Lineage16.0 thread for their posts, or you can get in touch with them through PM.
Good luck !
Ok no problem.. I'll find a way to get back to the stock .. But first I'll try the other roms with Android 9. Thank you

Hello forum, hello developers,
I am very happy that the Nokia 8 still finds support here.
For the work done and providing this great ROM my heartfelt thanks! Everything works wonderful. In my opinion even better than the Anfroid 12 version.
Perfect. I am very happy with it.
Because of this great work, hopefully my Nokia will work well for a while,

Hi, you can follow the guide in the Q & A section linked above or in our telegram support group, but the basic idea is:
Unlock bootloader + critical
Flash Tvirus 2.0, which includes twrp 3.6 already (there is however a 3.7 update available, which supports decryption in A12/13, but 3.6 can flash fine)
Flash the rom
Wipe data
Reboot to system
If you need further support, we are more responsive in our support group
It is a beautifully crafted system. Some issues make it a deal breaker for me though.
1. Pop up about something is wrong contact manufactruer every time you boot up.
2. Android auto will not launch. Car detects phone and phone detects car but nothing will launch.
3. No face unlock

Hey.
1. don't worry about this error, it does no harm in any way, we hid it before but sources have patched against our patch, we're trying to find a new way to hide it.
2. are you using Gapps or vanilla version? I will look into this
3. Face unlock is a feature that usually gets added on at some point, it's starting to get added in some A13 roms now, please be patient it will get added

I flashed vanilla first then flashed Gapps in one go. Rebooted to CherishOS afterward. Updated android auto app through google play store. I also had this issue with Pexiel Experience A12. It can be hard to test as a car stereo is needed. Thanks!

Thanks for looking into this. Nokia 8 somehow spams the crap out of the log. Got the log with logcat[NO ROOT] app on wireless debugging mode. The file is very long but I believe the useful bit is at 12-16 01:10:31.019. I roughly plugged it into the car stereo at 12-16 01:10:30. Guess it takes a while for system to detect it.
